Dear dad,

I've taken these photos on my cottage

for you to look at when you're stuck in bed.

It's beautiful here.

I'm well.

I do exercises every night that the clinic recommended.

It's helping, but there's only so much I can do.

It's quiet here, which is comforting anyway.

I hope this brings a smile to your face.

Ah, you know I have another... I have a friend.

An older friend who had

suffered from this disease for many years...

and she has just gotten...

shorter and shorter, and...

her spine has finally the whole that's bend over

so, she is... half of her body is...

parallel to the ground.

But you know?

She is still cheerful,

she really talks about her pain,

and she goes though life

doing everything that person without that disease would do.

Well, you know... we go though life, the way we have to.

This is not the same.

Ah, somehow or other, we just get through the day with...

doing the things that need doing...

and, ah, even sometimes we...

catch a good movie...

although they're rare...

and that's how we pass our lives away.

If only I could be there with you Lena...

I wish I could talk to you.
