I've watched the show for so long.

I have thought about stepping on the "Voice" stage

since I was a kid.

I make people laugh. That's... That's my strong suit.

And I live in Jacksonville, Florida.

My mom is my best friend.

We sing a lot together.

When Mariah was younger, I sang a lot.

When she was born, I would play Mozart

to put her to sleep every night.

I had no idea it was gonna turn into

her being into music herself.

I put out singing videos and dance videos

on my Instagram all the time.

Some of my idols include Ciara.

I love Aaliyah, Janet Jackson,

'cause they're known for singing and dancing.

I've been dancing since I was 10 years old.

I do hip-hop, reggaeton, Afro-fusion,

twerk... A little bit of twerk.

It's fun.

"The Voice" can change my life because I want to be onstage.

I want to be performing. I want to be touring.

It's a little scary to be here.

I have never done anything this big.

of my singing voice and my normal voice.

These four coaches are really special.

I'm Gina Miles, I'm 18,

Growing up, I never needed to be the loudest in the room.

I'm pretty shy normally.

We were aware of how deep and rich her voice was.

It's... It was just kind of shocking,

more than anything else.

I really have spent a lot of time

trying to hone in on a sound for myself,

and I really enjoy expressing confidence in that way.

I gotta remember my posture, Dad.

Mm. That's a good point. I have, like, the...

Music, for me, started so early because my dad is a deejay,

and I would go to deejay gigs with him.

When I was 14, I started doing fun little shows here and there.

I did bars, hotels, basically anywhere they would let me sing.

I was like, "Anyone need a singer?"

We're gonna take you on a little tour of the ranch,

so come along.

On my 18th birthday, I decided to move to California

with my aunt to pursue music.

And now to be at "The Voice,"

it was definitely the best decision I ever made.

I love voices with so much, like, character like you've got.

It was incredible to see you get up there

and really hit those notes with proper control.

Like, for such a young girl, it was incredible.

I could sense nerves.

I can see you, like, holding the mic with two hands

because I used to be, like, barely able to go onstage.

I'd be gripping the mic stand, holding on to the mic

like you're doing right now.

And you're gonna grow into this competition.

I feel like you've got so much more to give.

This is very exciting. Well done.

Hi, Gina. Hi, Kelly.

Okay, your beautiful eyes were closed,

but I turned around, like, way before him.

And I was like, "Okay, I don't know if that's nerves

or if it's her just really loving this message

and wanting to be the vessel for it."

You had me in the beginning

when it was a beautiful whisper how you were sounding,

and then it, like, exploded in the chorus.

And I am great at teaching vocalists, like, breath control,

bubbling before you get out there,

like, really making sure that you're so solid

with your vocal ability

that by the time you're out here,

you're not nervous because you've done it so much.

But I'm just a really big fan of your voice.

Obviously, I've been doing pop music for 20 years,

so I'm alright at it,

and I feel like we would work really well together.

I also have a really cute jacket, just saying.

It's really cute.

I try so hard, but I fail every time.

Kelly's one of the best singers of the last 10 generations,

and she can do the vocal-ability stuff with you.

I personally am not the biggest singer

that ever walked the planet, but I feel like I try and sing

with a bit of feel and a bit of character,

and you have both of those things.

You went for the big choruses,

but you were so amazing in the early moments of the song.

There are the moments that you're like, "Oh, God,"

like, you know, when you hear a good verse

sung by someone that really means what they're singing.

There's no better feeling. I've been there.

I've walked through a competition like that.

Me, too. Yeah, she has.

You weren't... You weren't alive, but I did.

And, yeah, whoever you pick,

you're in great hands.

Wow. This has truly been a battle to the death here.

I mean, I don't know.

The gloves have really come off on this one, I'll tell you.

I just didn't turn around 'cause my team is filling up.

so I'm gonna have to stay quiet for a second

until I really, really, really like something.

I'm Kason Lester. I'm 33 years old.

And I'm a strawberry farmer.

Farm's called Lester Farms, and it is just us running it.

We are getting this field ready for next season's strawberries.

My little brother is actually the master farmer.

I kind of follow his lead. We do all the planting,

covering them with these big frost covers, and picking them.

What thing just, like, makes you more happy than strawberries?

Farming actually does allow me to have time to do music

because we work with my family.

So if one of us needs to go do something,

we just pick up the slack.

We grew up on Michael Jackson and, like, '70s funk music.

I do a lot of songwriting.

I have a little studio that I built in the basement.

I play local gigs here and there, like the county fair.

I've played with Charlie Daniels.

Charlie Daniels... He was a legend.

"Devil Went Down to Georgia"... Everyone knows that song.

He ended up being the first person

who let me play onstage with him.

I had never been in front of a crowd that big.

That was the first time another artist

that I respected showed confidence in me.

And so I'm so grateful to him for that.

Every time I say I've got a farm and I'm from a small town,

everyone automatically assumes just, you know, country.

But my passion is rock 'n' roll.

For my blind song, I'm singing "It's Not Over" by Daughtry.

This song's got, like, that throwback rock sound,

which puts me in my element.

I'm from Montgomery, Alabama,

I do a lot of writers' rounds.

The music that I make...

Pretty singer/songwriter with a pop influence.

When I was a kid, I was in theater.

I did a bunch of shows.

That really helped me gain confidence,

as well as my sister, Somer,

who was a talented singer, dancer, impeccable artist.

She taught me a lot about music, so I wanted to be just like her.

Somer, when she was in high school,

she decided to be a cheerleader,

and it resulted in her, like, breaking her ankle.

And the doctor basically told her if she wanted to walk again

that she really couldn't dance anymore.

That really destroyed her.

This is like early 2000s,

right when the opioid epidemic was, like, really starting

and there was not much regulation.

She was taking the medication,

and she had more than she really needed and became numb to it,

which then snowballed into some harder and harder drugs

and then ultimately resulted in her death.

I was in, like, major shock. It was tough.

Really tough.

I really wanted to honor my sister.

At that point, I hadn't released any music.

She was encouraging me to do so.

And so I started to really go after a career in music

as an independent artist.

and I have five younger siblings.

She's working two, three jobs.

It was a struggle doing it all on her own.

but it's not fulfilling for me.

We've been listening to him on the car on the way to school

every single day. Like every day.

My name is Domenica Coka. I'm 23 years old.

I'm from Miami, Florida,

but I live in Nashville, Tennessee.

Music was just always played around my house.

I grew up with a lot of jazz

and a lot of very soulful pop music.

So that's what I look for in music that I like to sing,

and I want to have a personal connection to the song,

because if I can showcase my own story within music,

I feel like I've done the best job that I can.

Isn't this crazy? It is pretty crazy.

Everything's so shiny... I know.

And beautiful. I know.

My brother, Mateo, is my best friend.

And to have him be here for me and support me

truly is a dream come true.

When my brother was 3 1/2,

he was diagnosed with leukemia.

So that brought us to Miami, Florida,

from Ecuador, South America,

in order for him to receive the treatment that he needed.

I was 2 1/2, and going to the hospital after school

was a very normal reoccurrence.

I fought cancer three times...

When I was 3 1/2, 7, and 10 years old.

But my sister... She was my best friend.

She was the only thing that,

you know, helped me feel normal.

When Mateo started his treatment,

Domenica was also limited in her childhood

because of Mateo's situation,

but she was always happy and cheering and helping.

You know, in moments where I felt very insecure

after losing my hair and everything,

she would always tell me that...

That I was beautiful still.

You're gonna make me cry.

I started singing at the hospital for my brother

and all the other kids that were there.

Seeing how music could just step them away from that reality

and would help me step away from that reality...

I loved that. It was so powerful.

After I graduated high school,

I wanted to go out and live in Nashville

and go to college for music,

and my brother wanted to follow me.

We live together, and it's just an incredible bond

that we have to this day.

My brother's my hero,

and I get to share this moment with him.

And... And I'm very, very grateful for that.

For the blind audition, I am singing

"When I Look at You" by Miley Cyrus.

That song reminds me that it is so important to have support,

and my family has always been that for me.

So to be able to emotionally connect to this song

is such a beautiful blessing.

My name is Cait, and this is "The Voice."

Oh, my God!

Very early on, Caitlyn, she just loved everything music.

The bigger the voice, the more she started humming and singing.

We knew where... Where she was headed.

When I was younger, it was easy to sing in chorus

and in musicals in school,

and I thought that that's what I was going to do, definitely.

So I did tours across the country.

And then I was like,

"Maybe I'll try singing with some big party bands."

Midway through my 20s, I was scouted by a big cruise line

to go and enter doing cruise-ship performing,

and I started off just doing the production shows,

and then I got to do some guest entertaining.

When you work on a cruise ship,

you're kind of the celebrity of the ship,

but it feels like a very safe way

'cause you're a celebrity for seven days,

however long the guests are on,

and then you get a whole new crop of people to perform.

So, stepping out as my own individual artist

is kind of scary.

I'm much more comfortable being on a theatrical stage.

It feels comforting to be able to put on a persona

of someone else and be a different character.

So I'm finally ready to step out and be Cait.

Now is the time to go forward and do my own artistry,

and this is the perfect platform.

but to me it's going from the person that I was before

and becoming the person that I am now.
