When I flew out here, I was real nervous.

First time in California, and I feel like it's been

a journey for the entire family.

Did you ever think in a million years we would be here?

I did not.

In an environment where creativity is so celebrated,

he's really having the time of his life.

I'm Ryley Tate Wilson. I'm from Montgomery, Alabama.

And I'm 15 years old.

I have four siblings,

but not a lot of the people in my family are musical.

My dad is a firefighter. He works 48 on, 24 off.

So, my mom, she's a stay-at-home mom

with five siblings going around and trying to get everyone

to every place they need to be.

All of my brothers play sports,

and I am kind of like the "oddball" out.

I play guitar, piano, ukulele, drums.

I'm self-taught on most instruments.

When I was younger, I was really interested

in learning to produce my own music.

But my parents, they could only dedicate

so much money to each kid.

So I got my first, like, professional theater show,

and I got enough money to buy the recording equipment.

For the past few years,

I've been consistently building a home studio.

I was 11, so I was definitely on a budget,

but I think I appreciate it more

since I had to pay for it myself.

Some way, I want to make music my career

and branch out beyond just the small community

of Montgomery, Alabama.

I was shaking like a leaf.

And I could hear no sense of nerves. Were you nervous?

Yes, I was pretty nervous.

There was not one tiny little bit of it.

And it's so nice to hear a 15-year-old

have that confidence in their own ability.

It felt like if I was to get you to sing that song again,

you wouldn't sing it the same way twice.

And that is an amazing way to keep people on their toes.

Do you write or have you done any recording or anything?

Mm-hmm, I have one song out right now,

and it's more like the acoustic pop.

Well, would you look at that?

You definitely have that, like, storyteller element

to your voice from the second you open your mouth.

I don't know if you noticed, Ryley,

but I pushed, like, light-years before the others.

Because I heard your tone, and I was like...

It's incredible. Your voice is insane.

I love working with young people, too.

Actually, I win a lot of time with young talent.

And I think it's because I started as a young talent...

I really love Steve Lacy and Ritt Momney.

My name is Jamar Langley.

I'm 36, and I'm from Andrews, South Carolina.

Here I am about to go into

I feel like the biggest moment of my life.

And to have chairs turn would solidify the fact

that you have to listen to your heart.

From 3 until now, I've sung my entire life.

By 11, I started writing love songs

that were, of course, rated PG.

And when I was about 14,

my brothers and I decided to start a group.

We would sing at a lounge,

and they had to get me clearance to get in

because I was way too young, and they was like,

"Just make sure he's not drinking."

And I'm like, "Are you serious?"

Eventually I went to college,

and during that time is when I had my daughter.

I had to stop schooling to get a job

because the music income

wasn't really keeping me stabilized with her.

So I ended up working at a call center,

and one morning I had somebody on the phone and I told them,

"Hey, could you hold on for a second, please?"

I got up, went to HR, and said,

"I think I'm going to go ahead and leave and follow my dreams."

I headed to Atlanta and, from that point,

from studio to studio, kept performing,

and the story doesn't end.

It's still going right now, you know?

He loves to sing, and I'm proud of him.

He just keeps going, no matter the ups and downs.

Every time he sings, I kind of tear up a little bit, yeah.

I'm glad I get to partake in Blake's last season,

but it does make me a little sad.

My name is Allie Keck. I'm 28 years old.

I am originally from Neoga, Illinois,

but I live in Nashville now.

I visited there when I was 15.

I saw all these performers, and I realized

that was something people did every night.

It was mind-blowing to me.

I basically told my parents, I was like,

"I'm gonna live here someday."

Allie was gonna chase this dream.

I was kind of the jerk. I made her get a degree.

Four days later, we're in Nashville unloading her.

I did do music a little bit in college,

like songwriter showcases and open mics,

but it's difficult to kind of

break into that scene in a different city.

So for financial stability, I got into real estate

doing residential sales and leasing luxury apartments.

I did better than I ever thought I would.

I ended up in, like, the "Million Dollar Club,"

which is when you have like over a million dollars in sales.

So that's also how I met some other musicians, too.

It helped a ton. Just kind of getting your foot in the door.

Right now I play at a couple different places.

Definitely more evolved into this Americana rock that I love.

I stopped doing real estate just a few months ago

and do music full time.

I am so blessed to be doing that.

But at the same time, five nights a week,

doing that sort of grind can get really, really exhausting.

"The Voice" is a chance of a lifetime.

to go after music

because it is what gets me out of bed in the morning.

I am 23 years old, and I'm from Cincinnati, Ohio.

I left college to pursue music at least for a few years.

So, I currently live in my mom's basement.

It's great. I have a bathroom,

and I have a lot of space and everything.

But, yeah, college dropout,

pursuing her dream in the basement.

I work at a baby store in Cincinnati.

I'll tag clothes, hang up clothes,

get to work with customers, and see a lot of cute babies.

It's what I need to do right now,

and it's where I'm at in life, and I think working at places

like that gives you a lot of life experience,

but it's not what I want to do forever.

Me and my mom are extremely close.

Sometimes it feels like me and her against the world.

Being a single mom takes so much strength.

So, so thankful for her.

The greatest accomplishment you can have

is watching your child follow their dreams

and work hard and never give up on themselves.

And I couldn't be more proud of Jayda.

I look up to her so much.

She worked hard so I could chase my dreams.

That's why this is so important to me.

I really, really want to make her proud.

It is kind of funny. People make fun of me, like,

"Dude, you're short. How are you a bouncer?"

Honestly, you get to talk to people.

And in Nashville, everybody's a musician.

Like, I've gotten to know our house band.

They're like, "We'll play a song for you if you get up here

and sing it with us."

Any time I'm off work, I'm probably getting

drug up there to do a song.

He woke us up every morning singing

for 23 years until he moved to Nashville.

I can't confirm or deny.

I don't really dive into, like,

your modern radio country.

I would describe my style as more like Southern rock

and, like, soul country.

I've always been told, "You're not gonna be able

to do the normal things that other people do."

I want to prove to them, like, "You know what? You're wrong."

No matter what your disability is,

you can do whatever you put your mind to.

My name is Ali. I am from Walnut, California.

And I was born deaf.

Ali was sitting right next to me.

She was an infant at that time, and I'm a drummer,

and I was working on one of my drums,

hitting it as hard as I could, and I'd realize,

I'm like, "Oh, wow.

She's sitting right there and no reaction."

The doctor said, "Yes, your daughter does have

a profound hearing loss."

It was devastating, you know?

All these things go through your head, like, you know,

"What about music? She won't be able to hear music.

She's not gonna hear the ice cream man."

It was hard when I was a kid, definitely, for sure,

you know, to like accept this.

But my parents... They never really looked at it

as I was broken, and we worked around it.

We worked with it.

Music is something that I love so much.

As much as I doubt myself, I'm gonna do it.

With music, even though I can't really hear

every single thing that's going on,

I can feel the music, what it means,

and what the lyrics are about.

And I can also feel the beat.

I can feel every little thing coming out of the speaker.

That's how I'm able to do the things that I do.

As I got older, I started playing guitar.

I started writing my own songs.

This is my affirmation guitar.

I'm focusing on the pre-dentistry track.

A lot of my family members are dentists.

I started singing

in the children's choir at my daycare.

When he was 2, the choir was singing a song,

and he actually was directing.

The very first song I ever wrote was

with my brother, Steve.

And in 2014, we formed Foreign Figures,

an alternative pop-rock band.

And we went in front of a few thousand people

playing before X Ambassadors,

and they were, like, just blowing up at the time.

But while the band was taking off,

I kind of had this inner turmoil,

just really struggling to love myself.

I grew up in a conservative place.

The things you hear when it comes to LGBTQ individuals

and calling them gay,

it was always with this negative undertone.

It really took a toll on my mental health, and...

I eventually got the courage, um, to come out

and just try not get overwhelmed with all the emotions

and being choked up by that... By that moment.

It took a lot of vulnerability to open up to other people

and to uproot my entire life.

Now I have the most healthy relationship I've ever been in.

It's crazy to see myself in this place

where I'm at peace with myself and I am really fulfilled.

I am so proud of him. You have a gift.

You are extremely talented, and I think it's something

the world really needs to see.

Being able to be my full true self

on the "Voice" stage, this is my time to share

that positive message of acceptance and authenticity.

I got a great ear for music.

I could tell that you were an instrumentalist

before I saw that you were on piano,

because they do their runs differently typically. Yep.

I also really like your heady upper-register voice

there you were using, that falsetto...

It's a really tight-knit community.

It is one of my biggest blessings, I think,

that I got to grow up there.

A lot of Dickson makes who I am.

Music's always been around me since I was little.

My dad was in a bluegrass band. It was just him and his buddies.

They would meet at his tire shop,

practice a couple nights a week.

The tire shop that he owns... It's almost 100 years old.

The dynamic of it and just the, like,

eclectic things that he has...

Turkeys and deers, vintage signs.

Remember that one?

No. Well, I remember the one the raccoon made.

There's so much that goes into the shop.

And then when you add bluegrass music on top of it,

it's the coolest thing in the world.

It's been in music videos.

Blake Shelton's been down there.

I call it one of the wonders of the world.

I was probably a sophomore in high school

the first time I ever got on the stage.

I would perform with my dad sometimes in his band

and then loved it.

But after I graduated high school,

all my friends had left.

So it was a transitional period that I wasn't expecting.

The emotions that I was experiencing, the loneliness,

the thought of getting up and brushing my hair

or taking a shower or anything like that,

just that very thought would keep me in bed all day.

I remember sitting down one night and Googling,

"Why do I feel this way? Why do I feel this way?"

And there was like 16 different things

that all pointed back to depression,

and I didn't even know what that was.

You know, when I sit and think about all the things

that helped me get through that time in my life,

there was friendships, my family, my faith.

And then when you add music on top of that,

music was a friend when I needed one.

I know you're proud of yourself.

You should be. This is the adventure of your life.

And if I have a chance to step into that

and help create that for other people,

that's what I want to do.

Today I am getting the honor of singing
