Well, that's what we thought.

But the phone calls began

when Eddie was on an
overseas mission trip.

Well, if Whitlock
wasn't talking to Eddie,

then Eddie wasn't his partner.

Eddie was an innocent scapegoat.

Once we were on
the real partner's trail,

they got spooked.

Killed Eddie with a bullet
that pointed us to Whitlock.

Whitlock and his men were
blown to high hell to make

all of this go away.

Scorched earth.
Eliminate everyone

so there's nobody
left to investigate.

The real partner thought
we would believe

the bomb exploding
was just an accident.

And thanks to Mateen,
now we know it wasn't.

So who was Whitlock talking to
at Promises Honored?

(indistinct conversation)
