I remember that one night I wanted to swim
up to the horizon.
It wasn't a suicidal instinct.
It was more like curiosity.
Like an idea of crossing dimensions
and seeing what's on the other side.
I felt that if I wasn't afraid,
the waters would cool down
and I would swim until the final line,
a red line, where the day was born.
It was dawn
and I was with a friend, who stood by the sand.
The flow dragged me deep into the sea
and the waves pushed me under the foam
as I was trying to float.
I saw a boat's light
but it didn't seem like anyone was there.
I dive a few meters and I feel the waves
breaking ferociously above,
shaking me as someone was pushing me from behind.
I was far from everything.
The sea had changed its color,
it was dark,
warm.
I start to throw up.
Suddenly, my friend pulls me out of the water.
I was drowning.
He pulls me up to the sand,
puts his hand on my chest
and with his other hand he holds my neck
and yells at me.
I run away
and go back into the dark sea.
When I realised, I was again dragged
to the shore.
I laid on the sand,
exhausted,
wishing the tide would take me in my sleep
and I would finally transform.
I woke up a few hours later and...
had transformed into nothing.
I was naked.
Alone.
Hello?
Hi Marina.
The line dropped.
No, it's raining here.
No, nothing important.
Okay.
Right.
Is Dora with you?
Okay.
I see.
Whatever you think.
Whatever you think. Whenever suits.
No, I do.
I do.
Okay then, I'll be waiting.
Kisses.
Breath.
I breath
and that is all.
I think I lost something I've had one day
and I don't have it anymore.
As if a part of me had remained there, in the sand.
First, I closed the windows.
Then, I turned off the lamps.
Like it was possible to hide forever.
And when the sun shines through the gaps,
I face very unpleasant truths about myself.
I have trouble seeing afar
and the sparkle of things is scattered.
But in my dreams, I'm still searching,
running after distant lights.
Hi, Dora!
Sweetie!
Let me see this smile?
Are you missing a tooth there?
- How'd that happen? - The door.
The door knocked your tooth out, did it?
- Did you run into the door, did you? - I did.
Little fibber.
I love your hair, sweetheart.
- Morning, Andrรฉ. - Hi, Marina.
You've got dragon breath!
Ah, dragon breath my hat, my breath's like a...
I'm watering the plant.
It needs water, right?
She's still hot,
but a little better.
Don't you think you ought to stay here tonight?
There's no point in driving back now with her like this...
I have a meeting early in the morning, Andrรฉ, I can't.
So leave her then.
I'll take her back, mid-week.
I've been travelling a lot lately,
I need to spend some time with her, you know?
She's changing belts next week, on Tuesday.
Why don't you come?
She'd love it.
Can you carry her out?
Come here, let me get you.
I love you, ok?
Jump.
