Princess Hua is here!

Greetings, Your Majesty.

Rise.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Princess Hua,

do you know why

I summoned you?

I don't know.

I'm not sexist,

but Princess Hua is frail as she faints when the wind is strong.

How can she represent the State of Jin to negotiate with other states

with her image?

(Wait.)

(Why am I involved?)

(Your Highness is terrible.)

(I've pleased you)

(for this matter)

(and you betrayed me.)

Your Majesty, no way I can do that.

Grand Preceptor Du is right.

I'm frail and sick.

I can't handle the responsibility.

I might bring disgrace to Jin.

Princess Hua,

back through time the women in Jin are independent.

They can all take full responsibility.

You have the Hua family's honour,

so you must have the Hua family's courage.

I hope you'll finish the task regardless of the result.

(I'm tasting my own medicine.)

I understand.

Princess Hua.

You're strong. You can walk so fast.

You didn't keep your word.

I'm not talking to you anymore.

(This is the reason why)

(I brought you to the capital.)

(Liuli, )

(don't blame me.)

What?

Isn't it His Highness?

Why has it become you?

I think

I have the upper hand.

You're preparing already?

Think about it.

Instead on counting our fate on others,

(Hua Liuli's strength) and he's the Crown Prince

(His Highness' shortcomings) who has lost his reputation,

why not I fight for it myself?

You do have one biggest strength.

What's it?

Tell me.

Let me write it down.

Amitabha.

Learn to let go.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

I'm here.

Just in time.

Come on.

Play chess with me.

Now, I know why you like to stay in Ankang Garden.

The palace is full of nonsense.

Also... Also what?

Also, Fafa is not around.

We're changing the people in Ankang Garden.

I need to monitor them.

Yes.

I just wanted to tell you about this.

After what happened yesterday, Commander Wei

and everyone in the Supreme Court were questioned by His Majesty.

We really need to upgrade the security in the capital.

Yes.

Help me monitor Hua Liuli closely.

Yes.

I'll monitor her maid closely.

Why are you monitoring her maid?

Your Highness.

If you want others to know what you do,

get someone to monitor me and Yun Han.

Isn't that the most effective way?

Monitor Qi and Ba.

What you said makes sense.

Right?

So,

I'll monitor her closely.

Monitor her closely.

Monitor her closely.

Monitor her closely.

(Shoukang Palace)

What are you all doing?

Her Highness will punish you if she sees this.

The distance between the fabrics (Duan Jin) has to be balance.

Her Highness is here!

Handle this quickly.

Yes.

(The Empress Dowager of Jin)

Greetings, grandmother.

Rise.

Thank you, grandmother.

What?

You don't usually come so early.

Did the sun rise up from the west?

Grandmother, I indeed have to meet you for a matter.

It's regarding the Ceremonial Officer.

I think I'm the eldest prince.

It's my responsibility to represent the State of Jin.

But obviously Hua Liuli didn't want to compete for it

yet Yuansu recommended her strongly to father.

Grandmother, you didn't see that Hua Liuli almost cried

in the imperial court.

I pity her.

Really?

It's true.

I got it.

Go back

and prepare your things first.

I'm leaving now.

Such a honest child.

If the girl doesn't want to compete,

why would Yuansu recommend her?

I'm summoned again?

And it's Her Highness who is summoning me?

How would I know?

Is Her Highness going to punish us?

My eye is twitching faster now.

(Ambitious)

Greetings, Princess Hua.

Please come with me to meet Her Highness in the palace.

Please hold on.

I have a question.

There shall be no delay in meeting Her Highness.

Please come with me quickly.

I'm frail.

The entire capital knows about this.

I might faint at any time.

This is out of my control.

Your Highness, are you threatening me?

(Why haven't we arrived yet?)

(It's tiring.)

Stop.

Greetings, Duan Jin.

Greetings, Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Well, why is Princess Hua entering the palace again?

Your Highness, Her Highness is summoning Princess Hua.

Really?

But Shoukang Palace is far away from here.

Listen.

Go with my sedan.

What about Your Highness?

I'm free.

I can walk around.

Your Highness is kind.

I appreciate it.

Although I'm frail, I can walk this distance.

I'm not concerned about your body.

You're walking too slowly.

Don't let Her Highness wait.

Come on.

Go up.

Hurry.

Stop hesitating.

Her Highness is waiting.

(Shoukang Palace)

I'm Hua Liuli.

Greetings, Your Highness.

May peace be upon you, Your Highness.

I heard that

you came here by Yuansu's sedan.

His Highness is kind.

He knows that I'm frail.

I'm thankful to his kindness.

Since you're not feeling well,

just stay in Shoukang Palace.

Stay here?

What?

You don't like my chamber?

It's good.

Staying by Your Highness' side is my honour.

Duan Jin.

Send a few people to tidy up the side chamber.

Then invite the imperial physician here to check on Princess Hua.

(She wants to ground me here.)

Once she's recuperated, I've done a big favour to

Protector General's family as a good deed.

Yes.

Go back first.

Take a good rest.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Miss, which one of your eyes is twitching again?

Yuan Wei,

go back and keep my stuff.

Bring over the things that we don't have here.

No need.

Miss Yuan Wei, where are you going?

Madam Duan Jin.

I'm going home to bring some of Miss Hua's things here.

Since Her Highness asked you to stay here,

of course we've prepared everything.

(It seems like they've been preparing for this.)

I'm leaving now.

Thank you, Madam Duan Jin.

Gentlemen,

have you heard about

Her Highness...

Her Highness has grounded Hua Liuli in the palace.

His Majesty has just decided to let Hua Liuli and Prince Ying

compete for the position.

Her Highness has immediately grounded Princess Hua in the palace and

doesn't allow her to go out.

It's obvious that Her Highness doesn't want Hua Liuli to be selected.

Hua Liuli has been grounded in the palace.

This is a good opportunity for Prince Ying.

We must plan well to seize the opportunity so that His Highness

will defeat Hua Liuli.

What do you think?

Good idea.

It makes sense.

Great.

Here.

Mother, did you ask me to come just to play chess with you?

I want Hua Liuli to stay in the palace for a while.

I'll monitor her for you all.

Yuanhao and Yuansu have never been through any trouble.

How will they know how to judge a girl who grew up at the border?

You're right.

Here.

Fafa, say hi to Hanhan.

Here.

It comes to you yet you reject it.

Let me tell you.

One day, you'll yield to Fafa's beauty.

Here's its gift.

Fafa, look.

Do you like it?

No.

Thank you.

Take it away.

Jihuai.

Stop it.

Fafa, is it nice?

Let's be serious now.

Princess Hua has been grounded by grandmother in the palace.

I'm afraid the Ceremonial Officer position

will be given to someone else.

Your Highness, you're panicking so you're confused.

If Princess Hua doesn't want the position to be taken,

she'll think of a way.

Looking at how smart she is, we can expect her to do something.

It means she greets me every morning

and goes back to the side chamber to wait quietly.

Hasn't she mentioned going back?

No.

She just does the gardening in the side chamber.

She's getting along with the maids in Shoukang Palace.

How is she mingling with them?

The story today is about a chiliarch.

After the breakout, he lost contact with the army.

He almost died out of thirst in the desert.

Almost died?

After wandering for a few days and when he was going to die

out of thirst, he suddenly found oasis in the sky.

She's telling them some stories about the border.

The maids have never heard of those.

They think it's new.

No wonder.

Lately, I keep feeling like

a few of them are missing except you.

So she's brought them away.

No way.

Didn't His Highness come to greet you?

(Shouning Hall) It's because

of the indication of the water in the sky that he survives

until he was saved.

Also, he... Greetings, Your Highness,

Your Highness,

Go back.

Yes.

Princess Hua, it seems like you're doing well

in my grandmother's palace.

Yes.

I can't go out.

I can only walk around in Shoukang Palace.

Living a grounded life makes me healthier.

Thank you for your concern, Your Highness.

Princess Hua, are you still upset with me?

I dare not be angry with Your Highness.

I know that for you to participate the competition

is exactly what you want.

If you're selected, that'd be great.

Your Highness, it's easier said than done.

Now, I can't even go out from Shoukang Palace.

How can I be the Ceremonial Officer?

Princess Hua, are you seeking my help?

Your Highness, can you help me to get out of here?

No.

If I help you too much, grandmother will suspect us.

To please her, I've even sent her some colourful fabrics, so...

(Fabrics?)

I'm tired.

Let's go back and rest.

Okay.

Hold on.

Princess Hua.

I want to know what happened to the chiliarch next.

After the chiliarch was saved, he drew whatever he saw that day.

It's the lake that I've mentioned to Your Highness before.

It's called Holy Lake in Qinghan Prefecture.

That lake means a lot to us.

We can't lose it.

Greetings, Your Highness.

Greetings, Princess Hua.

Madam Duan Jin.

I wonder if I should say this.

Madam Duan Jin, don't mind that.

Go ahead.

Your Highness shouldn't come look for Princess Hua too often.

I got it.

I'm going back to take a rest.

(That's all I can do for her.)

(Grandmother is stubborn.)

(I want to see how you deal with her.)

Peeling walnuts teaches you manners.

Her Highness said while Your Highness is recuperating,

you should do something to improve your manners.

It happens that Prince Ying has given us a basket of walnuts.

Her Highness asked me to send them over to you.

Your Highness, please peel them all.

It's killing two birds with a stone.

I got it.

Miss, when is Her Highness going to release us?

Is Her Highness trying to make our lives hard?

Miss.

You're... Why do the women in the harem like to peel walnuts?

It's for our kidneys, brains, and wisdom.

Then Prince Ying should keep it for himself.

Why did he give it to Her Highness?

It makes sense.

Miss, open one more.

Miss, it's 3 a.m. now.

It's time to get up.

You're awake.

Miss, you've been telling

(Get the fabrics before 1 p.m.) so many stories for this.

It's the reminder given by His Highness.

He gave you a reminder?

All right.

Help your frail Princess Hua to greet Her Highness.

Okay.

Your Highness.

She hasn't left?

She hasn't.

Get her to come in.

Yes.

Duan Jin.

Jingzhe is over.

We need to make some light and soft dresses.

Cuilan.

Your Highness, please take a look if these fabrics are suitable.

Your Highness, Princess Hua is here.

Greetings, Your Highness.

Your Highness, are you choosing the fabrics

to make dresses for spring?

If it's for spring, I think...

I think this is not bad.

Why do you say so?

Spring reminds us of

"Casually acquainted with the face of the east wind.

A myriad of colours always bring the spring."

However, purple and red are too bright.

Actually, my favourite colour is the green colour that Your Highness

is holding.

It's just that it looks ordinary.

So I think this purple colour gives us the feeling of bloomy spring.

It makes us happy.

However... What's not right?

I...

I think I've come out for too long.

I've caught a cold.

I don't want to infect Your Highness.

I'm leaving now.

I'll come and greet Your Highness tomorrow.

She has left?

Look at her.

Greetings, Your Highness.

Find the accessories for the purple

that you chose yesterday.

Yes.

Your Highness.

I think that purple is a gentle colour.

We can choose some pearls as accessories.

We can also choose the same fabric to make floral ornament

to match with the dress.

Also...

I think I've caught a cold again.

Go back quickly.

Your Highness, Princess Hua is here.

You're here just in time.

Finish what you wanted to say yesterday.

I think

using gold colour is too old-fashioned.

And the green colour doesn't match with the fabric.

This is too exaggerated.

This is not refined or sophisticated.

This... Enough.

You're rude.

Your Highness, I'm sorry,

but that's what I think.

Dresses should be nice, comfortable and practical.

If dresses are meant to be neat,

why would there be,

"By nature I have talent, so it must have its use.

Spent a thousand ounces of gold, it will come back to me."

It must have been written when the poet was drunk.

And why would there be

"The rosy clouds and the solitary wild geese fly together,

the autumn waters blend with the vast sky in one colour."

It must be the result after a long wait.

If we live rigidly and go by the rules, how will we hear and write

all these?

What do you know?

Go back!

Yes.

Can I be bold and ask for the fabric to be given to me?

Take it away.

Take that away too.

Thank you, Your Highness.

I'll give all these

you all.

Go back.

Thank you, Your Highness.

(She's rude with words)

(and she's domineering.)

(Indeed a girl from the border.)

(How dare you talk to me like that.)

(I'll teach you)

(a lesson.)

Miss, I've found out.

I've found out.

Miss, what are you doing?

I'm practising.

Miss, can you be serious?

Am I not serious enough?

I'm doing this to fulfil my dream.

What did you find out?

Her Highness almost died because of the consort.

She has been sick since then.

She follows rules and keeps within bounds.

Even the arrangement of the fabrics has its special requirement.

Oh yes.

The fabrics that's given to us by Her Highness.

First of all, she has never made any dresses for anyone.

Secondly, even those outside of Shoukang Palace have never seen it.

Father! Mother!

Father!

(Qinghan Prefecture) Father!

Mother!

Father! Mother!

Father! Mother!

I'll never let the Hua family suffer.

I'll never let others control our fate at their will.

I wonder how father and mother

are doing now.

Consort Lin, you rarely come out.

Looking at your face, you should come out for the sun more often.

I was sick a few days back.

I would be glad if I'm as healthy as you two.

Consort Xian, (Consort Shu) it's time for us to chat.

Yes.

It's time for us to chat.

Go and take a walk.

I'll talk to the consorts.

(Prince Ji Yuanhong) I'll look for you later.

The hairpin flower on your head is beautiful.

It's more beautiful than the pear blossom in the garden.

His Majesty gave it to me lately.

These are Consort Xian and Consort Shu.

Greetings, Your Highness.

You're good at drawing.

It's simple and clear.

This is the highest level in drawing.

(I heard that Prince Yuanhong is a man of few words.)

(He's always drawing something.)

(Now that I've met him today...)

This is Prince Ying.

(He's actually a nice guy.)

This is Crown Prince.

Your Highness,

can you draw me?

Your Highness.

Go ahead.

The consorts are viewing flowers at the back garden.

Princess Hua is there too.

It's fine.

I can't lock her here.

Look.

It's cute.

It's nice.

Your Highness, let me ask you straight.

Can you give this drawing to me?

Thank you, Your Highness.

Can you sign here?

Just write your name will do.

I can tell the rest that this is drawn by Your Highness.

This will become your exclusive symbol.

What are they talking about?

Your Highness, Consort Xian was asking about where Princess Hua

got her dress.

What dress is she wearing?

A purple dress.

Princess Hua said the fabric was given by Your Highness.

They don't believe because Your Highness has grounded Princess Hua

to avenge Prince Ying.

They think Princess Hua was lying.

Go on.

Consort Xian has asked the tailor to make new dresses.

Her Highness has even gone to the Ministry of Revenue

to ask for purple fabrics.

Consort Shu has asked the maids to collect a lot of flowers

to make a floral dress.

Consort Lin has been complimenting

the dress that Princess Hua's wearing.

I think

Hua Liuli is showing off on purpose.

Your Highness is right.

Your Highness, Princess Hua is seeking audience.

Greetings, Your Highness.

You're frail.

Rise.

Thank you, Your Highness.

Your Highness, I went to view the back garden.

The flowers in spring are blossoming beautifully.

However... However?

Why is there always a twist?

Don't twist and turn when you're talking to me.

However, all the people have seen the dress that's made of the fabric

Your Highness has given said that it's nice.

It's more beautiful than the flowers.

This dress is really nice.

You chose it yourself.

That's because the fabric that Your Highness has given to me is nice.

Your Highness might not know they kept looking at me

like they wanted to take my dress away.

Did I say something wrong?

I don't mean to tease the consorts.

You're such a daring girl.

Since Your Highness has given me nice fabric, I also have a gift

for Your Highness.

Yuan Wei.

A few rags are sewn together and the pattern is messy.

How could you ask me to wear this?

This... This is ridiculous.

Take it away.

Take it away!

I don't mean to offend Your Highness.

Your Highness, please forgive me.

When I was in Qinghan Prefecture,

although the commoners were living a tough life,

we had our happy time.

When it's quiet at night,

everyone will be gathering around the bonfire.

We'd sing and dance.

Their best dress is only a piece of rag to Your Highness.

That's why I took Your Highness's rags to sew this dress.

Actually, I wanted to tell Your Highness that you're already

the best Empress Dowager in Jin to all of us.

Now, the world is peaceful.

You don't have to work so hard anymore.

Your workmanship is indeed

not too good.

Your Highness, don't tease me.

I'm not good at this.

I was thinking.

If Your Highness has time, please teach me.

No way.

If you've learned it well,

then I will be behind you.

Get up.

Keep this for me.

(Shoukang Palace)

Prince Yuanhong is drawing here.

Why is Your Highness standing here?

I'm here to see you, Princess Hua.

Who knows if you'd harm Yuanhong?

I've tried

your laxatives.

(Shoukang Palace) Your Highness, look.

Are you two not on good term?

- No way. - No way.

Shoukang Palace hasn't been so lively for a long time.

Yes.

When I was young,

I liked to talk to different people in the back garden.

But after a long time, I don't do that anymore.

A lot of people may look kind on the surface,

but they're bad on the inside.

I've met so many people,

so I know it's hard to tell one's true colour from one's appearance.

Your Highness, do you mean you've mistaken about Princess Hua?

No.

Being silly is not necessarily a good thing.

Being schemeful and tactful is not necessarily a bad thing.

It depends on how you use it.

Before this, His Majesty wanted to marry Hua Liuli to Prince Ying.

I thought it's not suitable.

Looking at it now, she's smart and he's honest.

They complement each other.

Maybe they're a match in heaven.

What about

Crown Prince?

He and Hua Liuli are troublemakers.

If they're together, maybe

they'll create a ruckus.

Yes.

Princess Hua, look.

The flowers in Shoukang Palace are blossoming.

It's said people are more beautiful than flowers.

Your Highness, do you think the flowers are more beautiful

or I'm more beautiful?

Since your name is Hua Liuli,

of course you're more beautiful.

Your Highness.

- Grandmother. - Grandmother.

Princess Hua.

I want to ask you.

What do you think about Yuanhao?

I know you and him are competing for the Ceremonial Officer position.

(Why is Her Highness...)

(Talking about Yuanhao?)

Everyone knows he's honest.

- (Actually, he's stupid.) - (Actually, he's stupid.)

I think when he gets married one day,

he'll surely treasure his wife.

(Pretentious hour)

What are you drawing?

(Vinegar) A wolf.

A jar of vinegar.

The wolf is wearing clothes.

Yuanhong.

You're something now.
