The decorations here are different from anywhere else.

Interesting.

(Why isn't he leaving yet?)

(How would I know?)

(Ask him.)

(I asked several times.)

(He still won't leave.)

(What can I do?)

(Aren't you worried people will say)

(that Prince Ying and Princess Hua have grown so close)

(after staying in the same room together?)

(Don't jinx it.)

Prince Ying.

Yes?

It's already noon.

Isn't it time... Is it time for lunch?

I didn't expect you to be so hospitable.

Then I shall accept your invitation.

He even wants to eat here.

Your Highness.

Watch your steps.

Don't fall.

I heard that my brother is dining here.

I shall join them.

Your Highness.

Liuli.

You don't mind, right?

I thought you would at least reflect on yourself

after the plum blossom banquet.

I didn't expect you

to come here so soon.

I've been whipped a few times by mother.

The plum blossom banquet has frightened Princess Hua.

Don't worry, Princess Hua.

I will treat you well.

I won't let you suffer any more harm.

Who was it at the banquet that frightened Princess Hua?

It was mother.

If it's her fault, can you just ignore it?

I didn't.

I'm here to make amends.

As long as Princess Hua stays with me all the time, day and night,

she will be safe.

(Hua Mansion)

It's become more challenging.

There are actually two princes in Hua Liuli's mansion.

We can take them down in one go.

Then we will have the State of Jin under our control.

Don't you know how many traps there are in the mansion?

Take them all down?

I think we are the ones in trouble.

Didn't Hua Liuli say she would continue to deal with us?

Is she planning to conspire with us to assassinate that...

What's wrong?

Conspire with you to assassinate herself?

- She did it. - She did it.

I can't believe that even my poison couldn't kill her.

Forget it.

Let's get our act together

and wait for the right time.

Great.

I can finally live longer.

Yes.

You know

what Jinling Garden looks like without ever going out.

You've even brought

the chief manservant along.

Your Highness.

I may be from the border,

but I'm not ignorant of things in the capital.

You, on the other hand,

must have frequented Jinling Garden.

I'm hungry.

What you see before you is the daily food

of the local people at the border.

They are all very delicious.

What's this?

This is pork offal.

And what is this?

Why does it smell rotten?

This is milk curd.

Is it not available here?

I'm from a desolate land and my family is poor.

So I can only offer this to both of you.

I hope you don't mind.

Princess Hua.

Don't you have water here?

You can drink the pork offal soup in front of you.

If you don't like it, you can try the milk curd.

Brother, please.

Your Highness, please.

After you.

I should let you go first.

What's in that little porcelain bottle?

This is the vegetable juice I made.

After all, there are many vegetables grown here.

I will drink this first.

I like vegetable juice.

It smells good.

Let me taste it first.

Prince Ying.

Is it bad?

It's good.

I like it.

I'm already full.

Thank you for the meal.

I shall take my leave.

I'll take my leave first.

Since my brother is not staying, then I shall leave, too.

Take good care of your body.

Miss.

They've finally left.

I want to be a feeble woman,

but I don't really want to be sick.

Your Highness.

What brings you here all of a sudden?

Father intends to betroth Princess Hua to me.

It's not appropriate for you to come.

I heard that father was furious when he found out that Princess Hua

had been poisoned at the banquet.

It seems that the betrothal will be put aside.

Father never said so.

It will happen.

Besides, Princess Hua has already grown fond of me.

She invited me to lunch.

Your Highness.

You should avoid suspicion.

Really?

That won't do.

Father entrusted me to find the assassin.

Not only do I have to handle the case,

I also have to protect Princess Hua.

You, on the other hand,

it's still uncertain

whether Consort Xian can be cleared off the case.

You are the one who needs to avoid suspicion.

Miss, eat something.

You are starving.

My head hurts.

I lost my appetite.

Miss.

Why is Prince Ying so confident?

He is the Emperor's first son.

Besides, Consort Xian dotes on him so much.

It's normal that he's so confident.

The only thing is that the Crown Prince

started hiding things for me

at the plum blossom banquet,

which I don't quite get.

Maybe he suddenly found out that you are a good person

and didn't pick on us.

Do you really think so?

Maybe he has ulterior motives.

No one knows what he's thinking.

Anyway, we need to be more careful.

I still have to be wary of him.

(Jinling Garden)

(Hua Mansion, Western Suburb)

(Hua Liuli)

(Hua Liuli) (Ji Yuansu)

I don't know what you're up to,

but I don't think

you're a sinister person.

If the assassins were really from Jinpo,

would that prove that there was no connection between

Princess Hua and Jinpo?

It's complicated as it is a one-sided story.

It is uncertain yet.

If you really think that Princess Hua is not such a sinister person,

why don't you get to know her in a different approach?

I can change my approach to know her, but what do you do?

As one of you men, I should address your concerns.

I will continue to pursue the hidden truth about Princess Hua.

If you think there's nothing wrong with Princess Hua,

don't you blame me for the wrong intelligence

I gave you in the first place?

Why should I?

Everything that reaches my ears comes from a wide variety of sources.

Occasional mistakes are unavoidable.

Besides, this matter is not yet settled.

Don't worry about it.

A different approach?

Don't underestimate the youngest daughter of the Hua family

and the Crown Prince.

Let the assassins of Jinpo go on their way so that we can position

our men more securely.

What do you mean?

If the youngest daughter of the Hua family is really sick,

why has she escaped harm so many times?

If the Crown Prince is really a brutal man, why did His Majesty

grant him the throne?

(He's squinting his eyes.)

(What is he up to again?)

(She's staring at me.)

(What is she up to again?)

Your Highness.

Where are you taking me today?

You'll know when you get there.

Didn't His Majesty ask you to investigate the case?

I'm flattered that you're spending

so much time on me.

If the assassins were targeting you,

wouldn't your presence beside me be their perfect goal?

Then there's no need for me to look elsewhere.

You got the point.

Your Highness, we are here.

Your Highness.

You may get down first.

I am not in good health.

I will take some time.

Be quick.

(Wrestling Arena)

Princess Hua.

My father used to bring me here when I was a child.

Have you ever seen anything like this?

They are fighting.

So barbaric.

Princess Shun'an has always admired General Wei's talent.

After General Wei went to the border,

Princess Shun'an regularly held wrestling competitions.

No wonder Princess Shun'an treats me so well.

By the way, do you have the same skills as General Wei in wrestling?

I am not in good health.

I can't overdo myself.

Well, that's a shame.

Bravo. Fight!

Everyone.

The fight between General Hua and General Wei is now

remembered by many as a heroic fight.

Today, I have invited Princess Hua,

the daughter of the Protector General, Marquis Chang'an,

- to be the judge for this match. - (He's testing me again.)

Let's give her a warm welcome.

(Just don't expose my martial arts.)

No.

What's wrong?

Stop it.

Princess Hua is weak.

How could you bring her to such a dangerous place?

I'm just asking her to be a judge and just stand

comfortably on the stage.

No way.

That's dangerous, too.

It's not.

How can there be no danger

When the wrestlers get into a fight, they couldn't care less about

the people around them.

What if Princess Hua can't avoid it and gets hurt?

Princess Hua.

I believe that a person who has been brought up in the Hua family

is bold and resolute regardless of their physical condition.

If you can't even be a judge,

I'm afraid people will be disappointed in the two generals.

(He keeps)

(bringing up my parents.)

(He's so cruel.)

(It seems he won't)

(let me slide today.)

In that case,

I will take on this task.

However, I am in poor health.

So... Let's begin.

Princess Hua, be careful.

Great!

May I know your names?

Our names... Are not worth mentioning.

Start.

Princess Hua.

Be careful, Princess Hua.

Why do those two wrestlers keep approaching Hua Liuli?

- Isn't this bullying? - Hey.

His Highness is so mean.

Why is he torturing Hua Liuli like this?

Torture?

His Highness is doing the right thing.

Goodness.

Help.

Be careful, guys.

Did you see it?

I think Hua Liuli threw a kick just now.

Really?

But I didn't see it clearly.

Hua Liuli is definitely not an ordinary person.

Princess Hua.

Princess Hua, be careful.

Help.

Princess Hua.

No.

Stop now!

Help.

Princess Hua.

- Princess Hua. - Prince Ying.

Be careful.

Princess Hua.

Be careful.

Princess Hua, be careful.

(Since you are merciless, )

(don't blame me for being unrighteous.)

(What's going on?)

(Good luck.)

His Highness.

Your Highness.

I am sorry.

Forgive me.

Your Highness, are you all right?

Princess Hua.

You are quite skilled.

(Memorial) It's all about you.

Father.

I'm just doing the right thing.

Is that why you always spend time

at Princess Hua's place?

Of course.

Princess Hua was almost assassinated

at Consort Xian's plum blossom banquet.

I am protecting her.

Still, it's not appropriate for you to take Princess Hua

to a horse racing track

and a wrestling arena.

I'm responsible for her reception.

I found her homesick.

So I took her to the racetrack to get over it.

Is it wrong?

I've heard that the wrestlers

even attacked Princess Hua.

I wonder what your explanation is for this?

I'm the one who got hurt.

Do you care for me?

I have my own arrangements for the investigation.

Do I need to report to you all?

Have you made any progress with that case?

Yes.

The assassins at the banquet and before were from Jinpo.

Junior Secretary Pei has drawn up the official document.

This...

Impossible.

Jinpo soldiers are the most reserved.

How did you get them to talk?

Kill.

I'll beat you to death.

I'll beat you to death.

They killed another one.

It's been several days.

This cell is almost empty.

The State of Jin

is too scary.

Master Pei.

Good job.

Give him extra meal tonight.

- Yes. - Thank you.

- Thank you. - Take him away.

Move.

My Lord.

We are not at fault, My Lord.

Please don't kill us.

Jihuai.

How many are left?

Your Highness.

All that's left are these little thieves.

What were the charges against them?

Why hadn't they been executed?

I can't remember exactly.

With so many cases in Supreme Court,

who knows what these two little thieves have done?

I will see what the new cases are.

Unsolvable cases will be blamed on the people of Jinpo.

Antique shop burglary.

Dozens of forgeries were stolen.

Jinpo's people did it.

Falling into a sty while stealing a pig.

Chased by a dog for miles and the dog got lost and didn't go home.

Jinpo's people did it.

Robbing a woman.

Found out it was a man and got beaten up.

Jinpo's people did it.

(Robbery of a woman)

Jinpo.

Jinpo.

Jinpo.

Jinpo.

Jinpo.

Don't you dare accuse our Jinpo!

We are not that bad.

- Don't you dare - Don't you dare

- accuse our Jinpo! - accuse our Jinpo!

Yours?

Jihuai.

Yes.

Jot it down.

These two have informed us of the secrets of Jinpo.

Spread the word to Jinpo

and see how Jinpo

will treat their families.

Your Highness.

You've slayed it.

All the ministers were silent.

They're just a bunch of old codgers who are easy to deal with.

Unlike Princess Hua.

Are you trying to have a go at Princess Hua?

If the Hua family isn't so powerful, why would I try so hard?

I can just kill them.

Well, you have wronged.

You're right.

I feel wronged extremely.

However,

I can still suffer from it.

What do you mean?

How about a heart-to-heart chat?

Then you really have to suffer from it.

(Minister Mansion)

Jiamin.

Jiamin?

Ouch.

Gently, mother.

Look at you.

(Account Book) Spending money lavishly.

What a disgrace.

Can't you be like Hua Liuli?

(Account Book)

I heard that the dress she wore to the plum blossom banquet

was made from our scraps.

Mother.

Can you stop mentioning Hua Liuli?

I really hate her.

What has she done to you?

I was once the first noble daughter of the capital.

Everyone knows that I was to be betrothed to the Prince.

And now here she is, stealing all the limelight from me

and His Majesty is giving her a betrothal.

Except for the Third Prince, the Crown Prince and Prince Ying

are all around her.

Of course I'm annoyed.

Didn't you say you didn't want to marry a prince before?

You were obsessed with Yun Han from Jinling Garden.

Why did you change your mind?

Idolising Yun Han is not the same as getting married.

They were supposed to be mine and now they've all been taken away.

I'm not happy.

You're not happy.

So you stay home all day?

Learn from your mother.

When I adored General Wei, I went wherever she went.

She is not a man.

If she were, she'd have been on my palms.

Are you sure?

Of course.

Why else would General Wei have entrusted me with

such an important task as a wrestling competition?

Don't listen to Consort Xian and the others

about how close they are to her.

In fact, General Wei's real best friend is me.

So do you like Hua Liuli?

Don't say yes.

She is General Wei's daughter.

Of course I like her.

Fine.

I don't like her.

You are the best.

I just want to tell you that you have to go for what you like.

You must not lose.

Leave.

- Get out. - Remember to tell Liuli to come over when she's free.

Mother, get out.

(Ten Rules of Noble Women) Men are defined by their strength

and women by their gentleness.

A strong man is noble, a gentle woman is beautiful.

If my mother had seen this, she would have burned it all down.

Miss.

Your priority right now should be His Highness who almost

got knocked unconscious to protect you.

Yes.

Oh, no.

He is the Crown Prince.

How could you jump on him?

Don't make a fuss.

I am a delicate girl.

Are you expecting me to protect him?

He is the Crown Prince.

Exactly.

I want him to know how unlucky he is to meet me

so he won't want to bother me all the time.

However,

I think

I've discovered His Highness's weakness.

(His Highness is)

(a man who shows compassion for women.)

Could it be... Your Highness.

What brings you here?

Miss.

He really came today.

It seems that the trick doesn't work on him.

Oh, no.

He must have come for revenge.

I need to hide.

Greetings, Your Highness.

Your Highness.

You are a true man.

I'm really impressed with the speed of your recovery.

Impressed.

Your Highness.

You

look good today.

Father thought I acted too abruptly the other day

and asked me to come and apologise to you.

After deep reflection,

I think father was right.

So I've decided to take you to the most suitable place

as compensation.

Don't move.

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

You can take it out on me.

Don't hurt her.

Miss, run.

Princess Hua.

Is your maidservant not in her right mind?

It's crooked.

Though Consort Xian had hosted a plum blossom banquet,

I thought

you might not have enjoyed it.

So

I...

(I vomited a lot of blood)

(and you still bring me here)

(to recall it.)

(Do you hate me so much?)

(I really can't grasp his mind.)

Princess Hua.

I'd like to ask you.

At the plum blossom banquet...

Princess Hua.

Thank you, Your Highness.

(Gosh.)

(He's starting to suspect me again.)

(There you are.)

(I mustn't talk foolishly today.)

(Take a deep breath.)

Prince Ying.

What a coincidence.

You are here, too.

What brings you here?

Prince Ying.

Are you not happy to see me?

Last time you said to my face that I was unattractive.

Then why should I smile when I see you?

No.

Prince Ying.

Actually, I was...

Forget it.

I've thought about it.

If you don't think I look good,

that means you don't have an aesthetic.

You have bad taste.

Yes.

You are right.

So let me take a good look at you to improve my aesthetic sense.

I am generous.

Of course I will give you a chance.

Go ahead.

Princess.

Have you seen enough?

I shall take my leave.

Prince Ying is really as eye-catching as Yun Han.

Your Highness.

Did you ask me out today

just to watch flowers?

Why?

Aren't they pretty?

Master Pei.

Do you think His Highness is having a heart-to-heart chat?

What do you think he is doing?

Pretty.

Talking about flowers.

Now this is a real deal.

Let's go.

(Looks like he's trying to trick me again.)

Princess Hua.

The flowers are dazzling.

Wipe your eyes.

Thank you, Your Highness.

(This handkerchief...)

Princess Hua.

Liuli.

What do you see?

Your Highness.

Where did you

find this handkerchief?

In fact,

I have many questions for you since then.

Why does the blood on this handkerchief smell like fruit?

I've always wanted to have a good chat with you.

You don't have to

be so secretive in front of me.

(Do you think)

(this will make me submit?)

(You)

(underestimate me.)

Princess Hua.

What do you think?

Your Highness.

I'm not going to lie,

but this fruity fragrance is actually my body scent.

If you don't believe me,

you can smell it.

No.

What are you doing?

I thought you didn't believe me.

Then I shall let you smell the fruity scent.

(Goodness.)

(You usually act tough.)

(Why are you blushing?)

(No one will believe it.)

It's getting late.

I am a little tired.

I'll take my leave.

Princess Hua.

(She...)

(She's actually...)

(He doesn't think I am)

(doing it on purpose, does he?)

What are you doing?

Yuanhao.

Why are you here again?

You haven't even explained what you're doing

and you're questioning me?

Princess Hua.

Do you still remember our engagement?

I think there is such a thing.

Even though she's not my wife now,

she will be.

Well, since that is the case,

I think your doing is really inappropriate.

(Although Prince Ying is goofy, )

(he can help me out.)

Prince Ying.

I think you are right.

His Majesty's order cannot be violated.

Your Highness.

It's not really appropriate for you to keep asking me out like this.

I think we should keep some distance.

I came to you to work on the case and to protect you.

On the other hand, don't you think you've acted

inappropriately as well?

I'm told the case is now closed.

So you don't need to waste any more time on me.

As for my safety, Prince Ying will protect me, too.

Of course.

Jingua.

Yes.

Get the carriage.

Yes.

Princess Hua.

Please.

Thank you, Prince Ying.

(I called you here)

(to tell you that)

(I have no intention of making an enemy of you.)

(Ankang Garden) (How can I gain your trust?)

(Ankang Garden)

Your Highness.

Your Highness.

Guess what I've got for you today.

Jiannan and Shaochun liquor.

This liquor is rarely stocked in the liquor house.

Get someone to fire up the stove.

We shall sit around the stove and heat the liquor

- while watching the moon. - Jihuai.

Do you remember what you did last time you got drunk?

From today,

I refuse to drink around the stove.

Here.

She actually said that my eldest brother is better than me.

What a joke.

You were all groomed up.

She is blind. Here.

I was trying to clear up any misunderstandings with her today,

to make her less nervous in front of me and to be open with her,

but...

It was too much for her.

This is unacceptable!

Drink.

Drink.

So, Your highness,

what did you do?

I just gave her back the handkerchief that she spat blood on before.

I even gave her back the evidence.

I was sincere.

Exactly.

She didn't appreciate it.

It was her problem.

Exactly.

Su.

Listen.

Let me share with you

a very good saying.

"Let go of your reservations

to achieve the desired result."

No way.

Will it work?

Yes.

(Pretentious Hour)

What a beautiful view.

A plum blossom blooms in the cold, like a strip of white jade,

away from the village road and close to the bridge over the stream.

I didn't know it was the plum blossoms.

I thought it was the snow that hadn't melted.

Prince Ying.

You are so eloquent.

In fact, this is what my mother told me to do.

I just randomly recited it.

You didn't understand anyway.

Say it again.

My mother was right.

You are hopeless.

I'll take my leave.

Wait.
