[Jun Jiu Ling]

[Episode 7]

The heavenly maids scatter blossoms! All in!

Wow! Miss Jun!

She's too amazing!

Wow, Second Brother, she made it all in!

Five thousand taels, Second Brother! Didn't I say? We didn't come for nothing.

She made it all in?

Everyone, it is clear as to who the winner is.

It is Miss Jun!

In just a few short days,

I have lost to you again, Miss Jun.

Thank you for going easy on me, Young Master. I am not as magnanimous as you.

Second Brother, we haven't received the money yet!

I did not expect Miss Jun to be so good at pitch-pot.

Your skills outshone everyone else's today.

The money you have earned is an extremely large sum.

Please wait a moment. Someone will bring the money to you in a while.

Miss, it's a lot of money. I'll go keep an eye on it.

Liu'er.

You must be thirsty after playing pitch-pot, Miss Jun.

Please have some tea, Miss Jun.

Jun Zhenzhen, are you—

Wait a moment.

Yanyan, Jun Zhenzhen looks guarded.

But I have already made preparations.

I paid a man to dress as a server here

to trick Jun Zhenzhen.

The tea I sent over this time has a different kind of drug.

Also, I have both pots of tea drugged.

That man has already taken the antidote.

So, everything will go smoothly once they are in the room, right?

Everything will go smoothly.

Let's enjoy the show.

That lady looks like the lady who gave you the lantern the other day.

Be honest! Did you lose on purpose just now?

Miss Jun is great at pitch-pot.

I admit defeat.

You chatted with her for so long on stage. What did you two talk about?

- That's right! - That's right!

- Right. - What did you two talk about? Hurry and tell us.

There cannot be any mistakes again this time.

Don't worry, Lord. We have prepared extensively this time.

- Nothing can go wrong. - Yes.

Why haven't there been any activities after this long?

Exactly.

- How about I go take a look? - Sounds good. Go take a look.

What happened?

Jun Zhenzhen, what are you yelling about?

Miss Ning must be mistaken.

I'm right here.

Let me go!

- Come over here! - Let me go!

- Let me go! - Jin'er...

Isn't that Miss Lin?

Let me go!

Who sent you?

- Jun Zhenzhen. - Let's talk later.

Miss Ning, I don't know this Miss Jun!

It has nothing to do with me!

Stop saying nonsense! I don't know you at all!

How can you be like this?!

Miss Ning, are you trying to harm my miss or ruin that miss?

Stop saying nonsense! This is obviously a trap you set up.

Ning Yunyan! How can I live after this?

You were trying to scheme against my Young Miss. However, through some strange combination of circumstances, harmed her.

- Now you're trying to frame us instead? - Turns out this is called

"Picking up a stone only to hit your own foot."

Stop spewing nonsense! None of this is related to me at all!

You are all falsely accusing me!

- Exactly. - So virtueless.

She's gone too far.

How could she do that?

Who does such things?

Let's go.

Miss Jun.

- Yunzhao! - Young Master!

Watch out!

- Let's go. - Don't run!

- Miss Jun, are you okay? - I'm fine.

- Ning Yunyan, you did this. Right? - You're spewing nonsense!

This is obviously set up by you two!

- You are just looking for an excuse to make a huge commotion and mess with my Ning family! - Yanyan!

Stop talking.

Miss Jun, apologies.

Let me solve this.

Everyone, everyone. My apologies, everyone.

My apologies! Come on out. Everything is fine now.

Today is an auspicious day for my Jinyun Restaurant.

I did not think that such a thing would happen,

frightening everyone here.

We at Jinyun Restaurant would like to apologize to everyone.

Today, everything is half off.

But the most important thing right now is to make sure everyone is safe.

So we will briefly seal off our Jinyun Restaurant.

I hope everyone can bear with me.

Please bear with me.

Elder Brother.

Elder Brother, it's all Jun Zhenzhen's fault. If not for her, Jin'er would not have been in such a situation

and our family wouldn't have lost so much money.

Yanyan,

why don't you think about why she would trick you and why you fell for her tricks?

You schemed against her first, and you even came up with such a despicable scheme.

This is the result of your own choices and decisions.

What reason do you have to blame and begrudge others?

Elder Brother, I'm your sister. Why don't you help me? Instead, you're siding with others.

Yanyan, do you still not know what you've done wrong?

What wrong have I done? It's all Jun Zhenzhen's fault!

Blaming others is shirking from the consequences of your own wrongdoings.

It will only cause you to make more mistakes in the future.

What wrong have I done? I just wanted to help our family get revenge.

It's all Jun Zhenzhen's fault! She set me up!

Ning Yunyan!

In life, you cannot be lucky every single time like today.

Sometimes, because you refuse to realize your faults like this,

Miss Lin's life is ruined. Do you still not know to repent even now?

What wrong have I done?

I didn't do anything wrong! Brother, I didn't do anything wrong!

Come! Come! Come over!

Everything's fine now, everything's fine.

Young Master Ling,

are you all right?

Thank you so much for saving me today.

I wonder when you arrived.

I happened to see your skills at pitch-pot.

Then the one who bet on me was you, right?

I'm puzzled.

- Earlier, the heaven— - Second Brother!

Second Brother!

The people from the Martial Moral Ministry are here. Let's go quickly.

Out of the way!

Move aside!

[Jinyun Restaurant]

Out of the way!

Who is in charge here? Come out and speak.

Lord, the person in charge is usually here

except for the third of the third month, when he is traditionally gone.

If Your Lordship has any need, you may just give me the order.

Have everyone gather downstairs.

Have them exit the main entrance in order.

Lord, our restaurant is open to all today.

There are many people here, so your request

is difficult for me to do.

I will arrange it right away. Right away.

Everyone, I apologize! I really apologize!

According to this lord's order, please line up to exit the premises.

I apologize, everyone! Please.

- Come on, let's go. - Let's go, let's go.

So many twists and turns of events.

Second Brother, we really have great luck! (sarcasm)

Through a strange combination of circumstances, we are always running into our enemies.

With so many people crowded together here, it will be difficult for us to get out.

[Jinyun Restaurant]

- Wait a moment. - Stop!

All right, it's not him. Leave!

Wait!

Stop!

- It's not him. - All right, leave.

Stop!

Not him. Leave!

No, no!

Leave quickly!

Wait, wait!

You over there, search each of the rooms up there.

Let's go! Out of the way!

My money! Stop stealing it!

She's creating a distraction for us.

Second Brother, why don't we escape in the chaos?

I'm afraid the Martial Moral Ministry will cause trouble for her.

Stop grabbing for it!

All of you stop!

If you continue, then none of you will be spared!

Stop!

What are you trying to do?

Who are you?

The Martial Moral Ministry is investigating a case here. Get out of the way immediately.

I am Ning Yunzhao of Zezhou.

- So you're from Lord Ning Yan's household. - Yes, I am.

Young Master Ning, our ministry is acting according to His Majesty's secret orders.

If you hear about it, I am afraid you will lose your head.

Lord, everyone that is here to enjoy themselves are all commoners.

I do not think the person you want to arrest is here, so why make it difficult for everyone?

Young Master Ning.

This is not the time for you to be a hero. Go back to your residence.

Give my greeting to Lord Ning for me.

Little maid, did you drop the silver?

Answer me.

Lord, my maid has not seen much of the world. Please do not blame her.

Second Brother, what should we do?

Let's stay calm for now.

You seem very composed.

In my opinion, this money was dropped at such a strange time.

Everyone, thoroughly search upstairs and downstairs.

Not one inch of this building shall be overlooked!

Yes!

Let's go!

- Get out of the way! - Out of the way, out of the way!

Second Brother, we're doomed! Looks like we have no choice but to fight now.

First, let's not expose our identities. We have more important matters to do.

- Let's go. - Drink...

Step aside! Step aside!

I'm very sorry! My sincerest apologies, everyone!

All right, leave!

All right. Stop!

- Take a good look at him. Wait. - I'm not involved.

Leave!

Miss Jun, we'd better leave quickly.

She's safe now. Get ready to take action.

- Are there people over there? - No!

Second Brother, are we going to fight them or not?

Come with me.

- Search thoroughly! - Yes! - Yes!

- There's no one here. - Withdraw.

They've left already.

Thank you so much for your help today.

Thank you very much.

How did you know there was a secret passageway located here?

No one is as familiar with Jinyun Restaurant as I am.

All of the private rooms have their own secret passageways that are interlinked.

Chen Qi... Your surname is "Chen"?

Could you be the descendant of the Chen clan who sold Jinyun Restaurant?

Do not accuse someone so casually. It was my old man who was addicted to gambling and sold it.

I have nothing to do with it.

That... How did you know they were after us?

I saw you two slip away the moment the Martial Moral ministry arrived.

Why would you act so guilty if they were not after you?

Thank you. Thank you.

My Lord, we have searched upstairs and downstairs. We did not find anyone suspicious.

You useless imbecile.

I will see you off respectfully, My Lord!

They've left.

[Fang Residence]

Who are you? Why are you walking in front of my home?

Miss Fang, it's you.

My name is Ning Yunzhao.

Miss Fang, I would like to see Miss Jun. Could I trouble you to inform her on my behalf?

Young Master Ning?

Do you think it's appropriate for you to see her at this time

considering your social status?

Miss Fang, please do inform her.

It's best to let her make an informed decision as to whether she wants to meet me or not.

Fine. Wait here. I'll go tell her.

Today's assassin

was most likely sent by the mastermind behind this family's misfortunes.

The assassin ran away and there are no leads for me to follow.

After I treat Chengyu, I must find out who the mastermind is as quickly as possible.

Elder Sister Jinxiu.

Ning Yunzhao wants to see you.

Ning Yunzhao?

Are you going to meet him or not? Make up your mind quickly.

If others see him waiting at our doors,

what will happen to my younger brother's reputation?

All right.

[Fang Residence]

Miss Jun, what happened at Jinyun Restaurant did not scare you. Right?

I am fine. Thank you for your concern.

It is good that you are all right.

I realized that the one who played chess with me at the lantern festival was you.

Playing such an exquisite game of chess, you must be a benign and openhearted person.

Miss Jun, we think the same way.

Young Master, you flatter me. I wonder why you have come this evening.

I apologize on behalf of Yanyan for what happened at Jinyun Restaurant.

Young Master Ning, this is not related to you nor did you instigate the event. You don't need to apologize.

No, I asked Yanyan.

She has a grudge against you because of our broken engagement. I am the reason for all this.

Since Miss Ning has spoken the truth,

please pass on this message to her.

I do not wish for more people to be involved in this.

Hence, I hope Miss Ning will do what is best for everyone after this lesson.

Miss Jun, please rest assured. They will learn their lessons.

Miss Jun, I came here today because there is one more thing that I wanted to ask you.

Please go ahead.

How did you know the night of the lantern festival was also my birthday?

It happened to be in the marriage contract. That's how I knew.

Miss Jun, was it truly a coincidence

or was that planned to look like one?

Young Master Ning, you are overthinking.

I did not intentionally plan to meet and play chess with you.

Is it really me overthinking?

- Yes. - Then, why did you give me the lantern?

You knew who I was.

Do you not think...

Do you not think that was inappropriate?

Young Master Ning, I did not think too much at the moment.

If it caused you trouble and created a misunderstanding,

I will apologize.

Miss Jun, you do not need to apologize. It looks like I did overthink.

Farewell.

Young Master Ning,

I know our marriage affair upset a lot of people.

However, I have let it go.

Let's put an end to this. I didn't know you were visiting,

so I did not prepare any tea. Please take this pear instead.

Turns out, that was not what her intentions were.

My connection to her from before has been broken.

In the future, we will not have any connections either.

Ning Yunzhao, oh, Ning Yunzhao.

Is the meaning of this pear not clear?

Gifting a pear. Bidding farewell. (T/N: pear and farewell are homophones)

No need to think too much.

She can do it. Can't you do it as well?

The pears are not bad. They are quite sweet. A good gift to give someone.

However, it carries the meaning of separation.

Did you hear our conversation?

I unintentionally eavesdropped. I just happened to pass by.

Happened to?

Yes, happened to.

Thank you for saving me today.

I promised you that I'll protect you and not let any harm come to you.

I have sent Zhang Baotang to investigate the assassins.

They should be working for the mastermind behind the Fang family's misfortunes.

That is my exact thought.

They are determined to kill the Fang family.

How are you?

I am all right.

However, it was too dangerous at Jinyun Restaurant today.

The people at the Martial Moral Ministry are targeting you, right?

Young Master Ling, for your own safety,

please leave Zezhou as soon as possible.

Our deal ends now. Please do not investigate this matter any further.

Why are you so concerned about me?

Am I?

You do not need to worry about my affairs. I know what I'm doing.

Can I ask you something?

You want to ask about "The Heavenly Maids Scattering Blossoms," right?

How do you know its name?

Princess Jiuling taught me.

Pitch-pot. When did you learn pitch-pot from her?

The winter in the year she came of age.

How about the way you drink tea? Why are the two of you so similar?

Princess Jiuling and I spent all our time together. There are many things that she taught me.

What else has she taught you?

Who are you?

♫ Times interlace in the watery eyes ♫

♫ Allow me to weigh every word for indescribable cause and effect ♫

♫ Life is full of ups and downs and hard to be free ♫

Who exactly are you?

♫ I’m willing to entrust my whole life to you ♫

♫ And see the starry night, mountains and rivers together ♫

♫ In the long silence, we are separated by a huge crowd ♫

♫ I can only sigh deeply. The rest of my life is bumpy ♫

I am Jun Zhenzhen.

♫ The vast sky is you and the wind is me ♫

♫ I’ll eventually be passed by ♫

♫ The wind is in hot pursuit and locked in a deadlock with the sky ♫

♫ If memories could speak, I wouldn’t stop shedding tears like the rain ♫

♫ It’s hard to see you again. I’m wailing in deep sorrow ♫

♫ The vast sky is you and the wind is me. Going through the bottom of my heart ♫

♫ Has God ever asked for clues about the wind? ♫

♫ If I could write down how much I miss you, it would drift like the rain ♫

♫ Seeing you again as if we’re strangers, I’m wailing in deep sorrow ♫

Tomorrow afternoon, go with me to the ledger room.

[Ning Residence]

Mother, I have something to say to you.

I know. You want to discuss going back to the capital.

Everything is packed for you. The carriage and horses are already prepared for you as well.

- Thank you, Mother. - Enough.

Mother, before I leave, let's settle my sister's marriage.

However, you are leaving in three days.

Are you saying that, in three days,

we should settle Yanyan's marriage?

Yes.

Yanyan was wrong

but how is that Jun Zhenzhen not in the wrong? She is the source of evil.

- If she did not come to break off the marriage first— - Mother.

She is not the source of evil.

I heard about her breaking off the marriage from Yanyan.

You should know better than I who is in the right and the wrong.

However... there is still no need to be in such a rush

to settle Yanyan's marriage, right?

Mother, I do not want my marriage affairs

to continue to be a bargaining chip for others.

Yanyan should also learn to be an adult.

She should know what she should do and should not do.

We cannot let the reckless enjoyment of her youth

delay her life.

Fine.

I have thought about Yanyan's marriage long ago.

I was thinking to settle her marriage by the twelfth lunar month of this year

and have her married next year.

Since you will not be able to come back for New Year,

let's just settle it. That way you will not miss it.

Thank you for your care, Mother.

The young lady from the Ning family is going to be married soon.

That quickly?

I heard it was Young Master Ning's suggestion.

The matchmaker already went. It will be decided later today.

Do you not know?

Rest assured, Miss Jun. They will learn their lesson.

So this the lesson he will give Ning Yunyan.

Looking at your expression, it would only be strange if you did not know of this.

Zhenzhen, your marriage date with Chengyu is approaching.

Have you tried on the marital clothes that were sent?

Are the measurements suitable?

Thank you, Auntie. They fit well.

Would you believe it if I told you that she probably didn't even try it? She's just speaking nonsense.

In fact, she's not taking the marriage seriously at all.

Elder Sister, just don't say too much. Hurry and eat.

A physician will be here in the afternoon. (T/N: 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.)

He will take a look at Chengyu one last time before the wedding.

Let's head over together after eating.

Grandmother, I have something arranged during that time.

I am afraid I cannot go with everyone.

What arrangements do you have that are more important than your cousin?

You must go when the physician is here to look at him.

I still have some things I want to get ready before the wedding.

Is there anything to ask the physician?

Can you ask the physician to prescribe Chengyu some more strengthening medicine?

That way we can carry out the wedding smoothly.

Jun Zhenzhen, you are shameless.

Chengyu's body is already in poor condition

yet you're still thinking about...

You're still thinking about giving him tonics on your wedding night.

You are so shameless!

Elder Sister Jinxiu, you have misunderstood.

I want the physician to prescribe strengthening medicine for Chengyu

so that he can go through the wedding smoothly

and go through the ceremony to accomplish an important matter in his life.

What are you thinking?

Even the food can't keep your mouth shut?

Grandmother, I am finished eating.

Then I will get going first.

All right. You go get busy.

When you are done, come home early.

Jinxiu, you are a lady who has not married yet.

Say what you should say, but say less of what you should not say.

Mother, I did not teach her well.

Grandmother, I understand.

Eat.

De Shengchang prospered during the third year of Taiyan.

There are even records for when the revenues were low,

but why are there no records for the third year of Taiyan when they earned more revenue that year?

Are there other ledgers?

The transportation records for all the branches of De Shengchang

as well as all of the ledgers over the years are all here.

Could it have been lost in transport

- or been destroyed? - Destroyed?

If it was really destroyed, then that is serious trouble.

So many years have passed now, the witnesses and physical evidence are long gone.

It's like De Shengchang's history in that year was erased.

Miss Jun, you have been at the Fang residence for so long now,

have you seen this image?

Why does he have this seal pattern?

I have never seen that. What is that?

The shops, pawns, and banks in the past

each had their own symbols to distinguish themselves from one another.

I do not know the meaning of this pattern.

However, I feel like it is related to what I am investigating.

But this is not De Shengchang's seal.

That I know.

Fang family.

The third year of Taiyan.

These symbols and this image

must be safer when they are farther apart

from each other.

If you see this image at the Fang residence,

please tell me immediately.

This matter is very important.

Thank you for the trouble.

I'm sorry for last night.

No need to worry about it, Young Master.

All right.

Farewell.

[Fang Residence]

What is it?

I don't understand why you gave up such a good marriage with Young Master Ning

and insist on marrying Fang Chengyu.

Did someone say something?

There are people out there saying

that the Fang family is having such a grand wedding

to spend some money on Fang Chengyu in his last moments.

They say it is not a true, joyous event

but a sorrowful event.

Such unpleasant things to say.

Just let them speak.

These are the same people who will come to congratulate Chengyu when he gets better.

[Joyous]

Cleanse in order to show respect to the elders.

In just a short period of a little more than a decade of my life,

I have actually had three marriage arrangements.

Once with Lu Yunqi who seemed a world away.

Once with Young Master Ning that occurred out of a strange combination of circumstances.

Once with my cousin who feels depressed and hopeless.

Of these three marriage arrangements, none truly belong to me.

In the rest of my life, will I be able to have a marriage that truly belongs to me?
