Original subtitles

There are concern that they may have been targeted by a jungle militia.

Although the reason for the helicopter losing

radio contact three weeks ago, remain unclear.

More news as it comes in.

You've heard of the Loch-Ness monster

and the legendary North-American Big Foot.

Now, meet Mokele Mbembe, Africa's very old mythical monster.

An ancient creature, that've been making a splash worldwide...

since literally, "blocker of rivers".

Thought by some scientists

to fit the description of a Plesiosaur,

a pre-historic marine reptile

that died out with the dinosaurs.

Although dismissed by many as scientific...

Originally reported by missionaries

more than 100 years ago.

Sightings of this legendary beast

have risen over the last few years,

as extensive deforestation,

things out the once impenetrable jungle.

Mokele Mbembe. Mokele Mbembe.

Stop, stop!

Despite claims of a hoax,

the increasing reported sightings

has prompted the British Cryptozoological society

to organize a sponsored expedition

into the heart of the Congolese jungle,

to investigate the source of the rumors.

I'm going with an excellent team.

Heading the project,

internationally renowned zoologist and explorer,

Jonathan Marchant.

He led the 2010 expedition

to track down the elusive Tasmanian tiger.

December 23rd, 1938,

a South African fisherman, called Henry Gooznan,

caught a Coelacanth,

previously thought extinct for 65 million years.

I'm a scientist that keep an open mind.

We can't confirm or discard anything without accurate data.

If there's something out there,

it's my job to find and observe it.

So you're saying this isn't just about the thrill

of the chase, then?

Excuse me.

The society, founded in Victorian times,

to search for animals

whose existence is as yet unproven,

has met with mix success in recent...

If there are any shy Dinosaurs lurking out there,

they should look for cover now,

because the team will be accompanied

by a TV crew armed with an impressive array

of state-of-the-art recording devices.

Watch out, T.Rex.

Take pictures as much as you can because these are moments

you don't expect.

Those are ones are often the most useful.

Oh, I don't get this camera.

Okay, I've got this.

This is the video diary of the great Jonathan Marchant.

Hunter of mythical creatures and action man adventurer.

Oh, dinosaurs, everywhere.

Oh, beware, because dad is going on with...

Pants.

Lot... lots of pants.

Um, whoa.

I'd say around 15.

Fifteen pairs of these lovely pants.

Not fancy ones either, no.

British no nonsense army issue y-fronts.

Exactly the kind of underpants, that tell Dinos,

not to mess with my dad.

Lovely.

Of course, the, uh, the famous hat.

As always.

I don't want that either.

Whoa, that's a bit more like it.

Video sat phone.

1080p res, full HD, stereo, mic.

It can't be dad's sat phone. Even-even...

Hannah, this is the worst possible time.

Why can't you look after him,

this is much your responsibility as a...

Well, I can't exactly change my plans, either, can I?

All right.

All right, yes. All right.

Luke, what is this?

What are you playing at?

Some of these stuffs belong to the TV company.

Wait, dad, I'm-I'm going with you?

Thanks to your mother, yes.

As far as in...

But that's it, you're staying in the hotel room,

Rachel can look after you there.

Why did you get yourself expelled, Luke?

Oh, the headmaster was a control freak.

He-he deserved it.

You put it on the Internet, Luke.

Liz.

Hi, how are you?

- Good to see you. - Hi. Good to see you, too.

- So you're ready? - Yes, anyway,

- this is my son with the camera. - Hi.

I'm Liz Draper, I finished... I'm Liz Draper.

I finished medical school last year.

And I was looking

for a different kind of challenge.

And this was certainly different.

Ah, so, so, Liz,

what will you be doing on the Dino hunting?

Well, I will be making sure

that if anyone gets a scorpion sting

or a snake bite,

they will be very well-looked after.

- And they will... - Luke, that's enough.

Thank you.

- Done this stuff before? - It's a nightmare.

- Luke? - Hmm?

- Is that thing on? - Huh?

I'm really looking forward to that.

- Red light is on. - Is it?

I've never been in a helicopter.

Excuse me, sir.

What would you like?

Pretzels, please.

Luke, stop that.

So Pete, what do you think of the local food, then?

Um, yeah.

- Oi, Pete? - Yup.

Could you stop eating for a moment,

charge and help me with the gear?

Oh, certainly, Dave.

Marvelous.

- To you. - To me.

Uh-uh, don't touch the camera. You know the rules.

I'm sorry, Dave.

It's all right, with yours the heavy one.

- What do you think, dad? - Very nice.

That's how it look.

You're not coming, Luke.

But I can be your camera operator

or engineer or something.

Just think about it.

I've-I've got these mini cameras.

They're great! You can fix them anywhere.

It sends pictures wirelessly

to a hard drive in your rucksack.

I've got a whole bunch of these.

They're always recording.

They film everything, it's very cool.

I'm sure the TV company has got that covered, Luke.

But I'd be surprised if they had this stuff,

this is serious tech.

They're as good as TV cameras.

- You're not coming, all right? - You never let me go.

Have you got all your stuffs ready?

Please make sure you do,

because your aunt's picking up at 4:00.

All right.

Uh, Rachel will be here soon.

See you in a couple of weeks.

Don't do anything stupid.

Okay. Bye, dad.

Uh-hmm.

- Hi. - Amara, right?

Very pleased to meet you.

Okay, sound's running.

Can you introduce yourself, please?

My name is Amara.

And this is Ethien, our pilot.

Ethien and I both work

for the Congolese environmental agency.

So conservation is something

that we both very passionate about.

- Oh, no. - What?

- Sorry about that. - Yeah.

Can, can we do that again?

- Of course, yes. - Okay, thanks.

Prehistoric monsters. I'm not so sure about that.

Um, my role is to make sure

that the team gets to the jungle safely.

And also to make sure that the forest habitat

doesn't come to any harm.

I'm Charlie Rutherford.

I've been on every expedition with Jonathan.

I guess you could say, uh, I'm his right-hand man.

Though, to be honest, we do everything together.

All the discoveries we made, I've been there with Jonathan.

I've always been there.

No, it's fine, it's what it is.

I mean, I organize the sponsorship

and Jonathan is always been the one in the public eye.

He definitely preferred otherwise,

but I supposed that's what you get,

for being the best at what you do.

- Let's do this thing. - All right.

All set?

Excited?

- Ready? - Yeah. Here we go.

Oh, oh, man.

This is absolutely incredible.

Now this is a Plesiosaur.

This is a Pliosaur.

They both probably lived in deep water,

300 feet or more in rivers.

And they consistently found together in the fossil record.

If it's a Plesiosaur,

the things a fluffy kitten.

Fish eater, nothing to worry about.

Now its cousin, though, is nasty.

It's within the realms of possibility,

that Mokele Mbembe

is distantly descendant from one of these animals.

And this is just a myth, of course.

And, uh, you only think this is possible?

This is the Africa's Loch Ness monster.

But much more plausible.

So it stinks in here.

Uh, kind of like petrol and feet.

First time in a helicopter and on a stowaway.

But this is pretty cool.

Uh, I've been flying now for...

About 90 minutes?

Uh, I don't know how much longer...

What was that?

You're putting yourself and everyone else in danger,

do you realize that?

What if the helicopter got into trouble?

You're not even strapped in.

Well, if the helicopter crash, then we'll all be dead.

That's not the point!

I knew this would be a problem.

Captain, we have to turn around, we have to take him back.

I can't.

We passed the P.N.R., not enough fuel.

What am I gonna do with you?

Oh, easy on him, Jonathan.

He wanted to come on the expedition.

You can't blame him, right?

Fine, when we land, then we'll sort you out.

In the meantime, sit there and don't touch anything.

Luke!

Sit down.

Amara, those huts down there?

It's a traditional village of the Wootie people.

What are they?

Charlie, what are they?

I'm not sure.

They look weird.

- They don't fly like birds. - Hmm.

Amara, what kind of birds are they?

Amara?

Ethien!

Captain!

Watch out!

Luke.

Luke!

Luke.

- Johnny, are you okay? - Yeah.

- Get up. Grab your bags. - Yeah, come on!

- Etienne? Etienne? - Come on, help me.

Move, move, Luke! Get out!

- Move as fast as you can! - Come on, Liz.

Go. Charlie, help me with the gear!

- Pete, get him out of here. - It's on fire!

- Everyone get clear! - Come on!

- Come on! - Move.

- Charlie! - Wait, my gear?

- Give the-the hard drives. - Luke, no!

Luke, leave it!

Luke, come on! Come on.

Luke, move it! Let's go!

Luke, get... hurry up! Come on!

Come on, Luke.

- No. - Oh, my God.

- Oh, boy. - Oh, my God. Oh, my God!

You're gonna start listening to me.

- Do you understand? - I need these cameras.

Do not... do not, endanger anyone's life in this crew,

including yours.

- Is that clear? - Yes, it's clear.

Hey, someone just died back there.

Turn that thing off.

Jonathan, there's no point demoting the bag carrier,

as considering they're still...

We don't carry passengers that need to be doing...

What the hell were those things?

They definitely don't look like birds.

Oh, what were they then?

They were jungle waterfowl, with 15-foot wingspan.

Planes get taken down all the time, okay?

All right.

God.

Right, we need to get shelter. Find that village.

Amara, which way?

We cross the river.

Did you hear that?

What's that?

I thought I saw something.

Come on, you two.

I'm not losing anyone else tonight.

All right, your majesty.

Martin!

Martin!

Martin!

What happened here?

No.

- What is it? - Nothing.

Nothing.

Everything's-everything's fine. Everything's fine.

It'll be sundown in less than an hour.

We should get inside.

Give me a torch.

- Whoa! - Look away, Luke.

- That's okay, dad. - What did that?

Maybe a tribal thing.

Blood feud, what do you think, Amara?

I don't think we should stay here.

Barely a sleeping rut.

We need to find a different hut.

This one's okay. We camp the night in here.

Okay, do we have a choice?

Tilt up a bit.

Yeah, yeah, that's it. Lock it up there.

- What's that? - It's motion-sensitive.

Night vision. Okay, Pete.

Yeah, switching on.

Wow, that's cool.

It only films when it senses something.

Good thinking.

- Luke, leave that. - One minute.

- Come on, it's getting dark. - No, let him.

If someone's out there,

don't you think it might be good to know if they drop by?

Smart kid.

Not too bad. Plenty of food. Mostly, thanks to Pete.

Oh, we can try going back to the crash site in the morning,

but if we're here for more than a few days, we can hunt.

Wait, we'll get picked-up before that, right?

We don't know if Etienne has sent the distress signal or not.

The radio ain't done after the impact.

What about the other comms? The sat phones?

Fritzed as far I can tell.

The others were all in the chopper, so...

Why don't you give it to Luke?

He knows more about these stuff than any of us.

Yeah, I'll do my best. No guarantees.

Okay, so, um...

Well, we're more than capable

of riding this out for a few days,

until either we're rescued or Amara here,

our very experienced guide, gets us to safety.

So I suggest, I think try and get some sleep.

Okay.

I've got no idea how anybody could sleep

with this racket going on.

Oh, yeah, by the way, Pete,

if you fart one more time,

I'll put you outside for the night, okay?

Pete.

Pete.

- What have I done now? - Listen.

What the hell is that?

Luke.

Luke.

Oh, Jesus.

Oh, my God.

Get the torch!

Go, go, go, go, go.

Everybody out!

Luke, we're leaving!

Go, Johnny!

Come on, move! Go to the river!

Are you okay? You okay? Come on.

- Come on! - The boat! The boat!

- Over here, guys. - Get in, get in!

Get in!

Wait, wait, wait, dad! Where is dad?

- Dad! - Gangway!

Hurry, hurry up!

Keep moving!

Keep moving!

Move! Move! Where is Liz?

Jonathan, where is Liz? Where is she?

- She's gone. - What?

So we're out here just-just drifting, I think downriver.

Captain dad just sort of thought we've got the best chance

of getting rescued that way.

Following the river isn't exactly a plan.

We have no maps.

Well, last night we were attacked

in an abandoned village.

Liz.

Liz is-is gone.

Charlie reckons the things that attacked us.

It might actually be some sort of dinosaur.

Amara...

She says she's never seen anything like that before.

So I guess the mission's over.

We're just trying out of here.

Hey, Charlie.

At least Charlie has been talking to me,

which is more than I can say for some people.

You know and that's about it.

Rest in peace, Liz.

- How are you getting on? - Okay.

- Are you sure? - Yeah.

Are you making progress there?

I had no idea you are so into that sort of stuff.

Well, expeditions can take up a lot of your time.

That's true.

Did you know you're pretty popular in Japan?

Yeah, and all of these fun websites.

Yeah.

How do you think I get to hear about what you're doing?

- Whoa! - What is it?

- Can you see that? - What? What was it?

In the trees.

- Oh, you all see them. - Where?

- Look, they're everywhere. - Leaves, Pete.

That's what they are, leaves.

There's nothing.

There! There!

- Oh, my God, yeah. - See, I told you.

Something tracking us out there.

That could be anything.

What the hell was that?

- There's something in there. - Wait.

Paddle, now!

Wait, it's just an eddy.

- Pete, there are rocks. - Watch out!

Somebody help!

Charlie, go left! Go!

Keep your heads down.

Can you tell us what's happening?

Well, we just lost one of the boats.

We have to patch the hole.

Can you describe what we saw in the water?

What?

What was out there.

There's nothing out there. What's that?

How long will we stay on this island for?

Oh, with all luck, we'll be out of here by the morning, okay?

That would be all.

Jonathan, are we safe here?

You seriously bought Dinosaur top trumps?

Mmm.

Just like mom used to make.

Oh, we've had worse.

Actually.

Whoa. What was that?

Oh, that was big. Maybe a leopard.

It just got hunted.

Oh, this is what happens in the jungle, people.

We're safe here on the island.

Can I ask you a question?

I got a feeling just as you.

What do you know of those things that been there?

I'm not so certain.

I've never heard of them attacking like that before,

but I'd heard things.

What exactly have you heard?

The last few years,

there'd been more and more stories of attacks,

sightings of weird animals.

The local chiefs think due to deforestation programs.

And keep hearing the same thing

that, uh, the demons have journeyed

further and further away from their home.

What they call Obobo.

Their home?

Obobo means a gateway.

It's folklore. Place of myth.

Gateway.

So what's on the other side?

A lot of men from the village have gone to find out.

None of them have come back.

Not one.

They're never meant to come here.

What do you mean?

The chopper crashed, right?

Whoa, what was that?

Dave, if you're messing around...

Jesus.

What is that?

- Oh, my God. - That's impossible.

Look, there's more of them.

What are they?

It's like a...

Uh, all of them.

A stegosaurus.

Are you getting this, Dave?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm getting near.

- But what the hell is it? - It's amazing.

Hey.

Give me your sweets.

Luke, what the hell are you doing?

Come here. Come on, boy.

Don't be stupid, Luke. You'll lose your fingers.

Luke, listen to me.

We don't know how it's going to react.

Come on.

Come on, boy.

Follow.

Whoa!

Whoa.

Luke.

Hey.

Oh, cute.

This is nuts.

Oh, look at him.

He's rough.

Oh, Luke. Luke.

No.

- Oh! - Oh!

Cheers.

Oh, that stinks.

No, it smells good.

Listen, we need to leave.

I mean now.

Just think about it.

Those were babies, babies!

And they've got into this island easily.

Now what if they come with others that aren't so friendly?

Last night you said we weren't supposed to come here.

Oh, isn't it obvious?

Don't you remember that village back there?

We're not safe here.

Jonathan, we need to leave now.

So they've been here on the island all morning.

I think... I think they're just playing, basically.

Look.

The coolest thing is this.

I'm calling him Crypto.

I think he likes me.

Hello, boy.

Come on, Crypto.

So good boy.

Come on, Crypto.

Come on, boy.

Okay.

So we're gonna find out

where they went when they disappeared last night.

- That's it. - How do you ask? With this.

He's a good boy.

- Here we come. - Okay.

I got it.

That's my boy.

Ooh.

That's right.

Yeah.

Here you go. Okay, okay.

- Yeah. - Look.

It's just me, Crypto. Just me.

It's okay, that didn't hurt, right?

That didn't hurt.

All right, boy. Great job.

Oh, it's up, it's up. Pete, come, see this, come.

Oh!

- Hey, come on. Come on. - Yeah, yeah.

Look at this. Look at that.

Amara, where are you going?

I'm not watching that.

That's amazing.

- What's the range of that mini-cameras? - That's for about 2 miles.

- What is it? - Look.

We videotaped the Dino.

Look at that.

You did what?

It just jumped straight out of the water.

- They are fast. - Yeah.

What are they doing?

Well, that's 55 million years to evolve.

- Jeez. - Wow.

- What's that? - That's a totem. A tribal warning.

Damn it, what happened?

I think the wireless must have just cut in that cave.

Oh, come on, I thought you said this thing worked.

All right, Charlie.

Sorry.

They were going down the river.

They can't be that far from here.

He's right. He's right.

That cavern has to be just west from here.

We could easily get there with the boats.

That is not gonna happen.

I'm packing up. We're going.

Excuse me?

What the hell do you think you're doing?

It's not safe here.

She's right, Charlie.

We have no idea of the terrain beyond that cavern,

we stick to the plan.

We go down the river, we find people,

we fix the sat phone, whichever comes first,

then we come back and do this properly.

Do you have any idea how big this is?

You know dinosaurs are out there.

More of them.

Quite possibly,

evolutionary mutations no one has even dreamed of.

I want this as much as you.

So you're just gonna let someone else take the glory, is that it?

Glory?

I've already lost two people on this trip.

I have a 15-year-old boy to look after, a rookie,

I have to teach him everything. Wait your turn.

I'm not good enough to go with you.

Dad, why do you always do this?

Look, I didn't ask you to put a camera on one of those animals.

Oh, okay, maybe you're just jealous

because the rookie is actually doing some exploring

instead of just keeping everyone else's orders.

- Come on. - Get off.

- Luke, it's too dangerous. - Fine.

Fine, I get it.

Luke, I think you're right.

You stay out of this.

Hey, hey. It's back on.

Oh.

Oh, oh.

They seem to know where they are going.

Look, they're following a trail.

Yeah, it's a game trail.

They must use it a lot.

- You saw that, right? - Yeah.

There are more of them.

After the totem, there was a hole in here.

- The geophysics... - And then gateway. It's the gateway.

I should tell dad.

No, no, no.

What do you think your dad would do

if we told him about this right now?

Um, I...

he would start preaching at us.

Amara would just get herself all worked up.

Why don't we just save this for a better time?

Like, when we get back to base.

You tell them this at the right time,

you'll get yourself a place on the return team, guaranteed.

Okay?

Yeah.

Yeah, okay.

I'm just looking out for you, fellow.

What would have been?

It's gonna get a little choppy.

Hold on.

Can't keep the boat straight.

Turn and take that rope, make that turn.

Keep going! Keep going!

Oh, I am going.

We need to go left, to the shore.

We're taking in water.

Pail, a lot of pail.

- Jonathan, the other boat. - Oh.

Luke!

Oh.

Luke!

Dad!

Luke, it's pulling us in.

Get down!

Jesus.

Hey, come on, turn around, we need to go back.

What?

Jonathan, we won't make it.

- Always. - Look.

Maybe we should just go back with the rescue team,

- or with a chopper. - Oh, Jesus.

I'm not leaving them.

Oh, Jesus.

Oh, God. Come on!

Where are we?

The water is cold.

Is that bad?

Means it's deep.

Really deep.

These Dinos must have picked up a shore somewhere.

We should get going.

We'll have to use our hands to paddle.

Luke?

Dad?

Dad, we're over here.

Stay there. Keep paddling.

You're safe, I'm coming to you, Luke.

- Yeah, Pete, tie there. - All right.

You came back.

Oh, God. Oh, Luke.

Sit down, sit down, sit down.

What happened?

The rope must have been weak.

Snapped clean.

All right. How's the sat phone?

Well, I-I just have to finish a couple of connections.

It should work.

Good.

Good, that's good.

We need to find dry land.

Okay, let's get ready.

Whoa, whoa!

Go!

Go!

Come on!

Come on.

There's something under us.

Sit down.

There. There.

Oh, God. My God, my God.

- It's Mokele-Mbembe. - Oh, it's huge.

It's not... it's not aggressive.

Keep calm.

Let me just get pass.

Be careful, Dave.

Are you sure this isn't the nasty one?

Easy, girl.

- Dave, watch out! - Watch out, Dave!

- Dad! - Dave!

Dad! Dad!

- Help! Help! - Come on.

Dad!

Dad!

Dad!

Dad!

Dad!

Dad! Dad!

We have to get away from here. It's not safe.

- Dad! - Come on!

- Dad! Dad! Dad! - He's gone.

- No! - Oh, God.

Oh, God.

Come on!

Heads up!

All right, where are we going?

We need to get this thing working, okay?

Charlie, Charlie, wait.

- Charlie, I can't keep up. - We got to keep moving.

How is it going with that sat phone?

Okay.

Okay.

Come on. Come on.

Yes.

Yes. I've fixed it.

Charlie?

Charlie!

I found it.

Let's go.

Come on.

Charlie.

- Charlie. - Come on.

Charlie.

I, um...

I fixed this up right.

Great.

That's great.

Good job, fellow.

Charlie!

No!

Whoa!

I don't... I don't know if this camera is still broadcasting.

But if-if you find a monitor...

Um, through that gateway,

I went... I went down in a hole in the ground.

Some kind of... some kind of a cave.

Charlie...

Charlie-Charlie pushed me.

He pushed me and he-he tried to kill me.

Please...

Please, I don't... I don't know if there's anyone out there.

If there anyone out there.

The sound is still running, Dave.

Luke!

Luke!

Luke!

Luke, we're here!

- Luke! - Jonathan, he's gone.

You don't know that.

Believe me, where they went, they're not coming back.

I saw him.

He's with Charlie.

Where, Amara?

The gateway. It's on higher ground.

- I can track them, let's go. - No.

Okay, you were never meant to come here.

You were never meant to come here.

You knew about this place all along. You put us in danger.

You know, I was just supposed to take you

to a safe piece of jungle,

make you do your filming, and fly you back home.

It was supposed to be easy.

I underestimated this jungle, we all did.

So you're going back into the gorge?

I was gonna take my chances than go where we have no right to be.

I'm sorry, Jonathan.

I'm sorry for everything that happened, for Luke...

but from now on, you're on your own.

Pete?

I'll...

I'll go with you, Jonathan.

You'll get help.

Come on, Pete.

We've got to find my son.

Dad, if you're still out there, uh...

I'm sorry.

I know now I can be a bit,

anyway, I just wanted to say

that I'm glad we were able to go on this trip together.

Even if it didn't end up exactly how it was supposed to.

I just want to say thanks.

Little Crypto.

Good to see you.

All right, boy. Oh.

What is it?

Whoa! Whoa!

Oh, no! No, no, no, no!

No. No.

No, no, no, no, no, no.

Please.

Oh, my God. Dad, I love you.

Luke!

- Dad! - I thought I had lost you.

Hey, let's solve this.

Pete?

Get out of here.

This is for Dave.

Pete?

Pete!

Come on, you little beggars. Come here.

The sound is running, Dave.

The sound is running.

Whew!

Where are you? Come on!

Okay.

Come on.

Keep moving, Luke.

Keep up. Keep up, Luke.

Dad, dad, stop.

Are you okay?

I saw the entrance.

Charlie always did leave a trail bigger than a bloody buffalo.

He tried to kill me.

Charlie, he's just... he lost it.

He-he took the sat phone and pushed me down the gateway.

He tried to kill me.

Charlie.

Yeah.

He set right to the boat.

Come on.

Where are we going?

We need to find that sat phone.

I've been heading along the rim of a basin

which hasn't yet been unchartered on any maps.

I believe this valley is populated with dinosaurs,

creatures thought extinct more than 65 million years ago.

No sightings yet,

but anything could happened at any moment.

Right now, I just want the world to know

that the first sighting of these animals

is dedicated to you, Luke.

Rest in peace.

That's a promise, fellow.

Okay, I'm gonna get...

We'll just set here.

- Got it? - Yeah, okay.

- You need a hand? - No, I'm fine.

Definitely came through this way.

Damn it.

Whoa.

It's incredible.

We've lost it.

I can't see his trail anymore.

- Maybe he found out. - It's too steep.

We got to head back up.

- Whoa, what was that? - Hold on.

Oh, no!

Dad!

Luke, don't be stupid!

Get back.

All right, all right. I'll-I'll find something.

- Get back! - I'll find something.

Dad, dad, there's Charlie.

There's Charlie, you've got to get up.

Come on.

Luke, you've got to run, get out of here.

- No, I'm not leaving you. - Listen to me. Go!

Hey, Luke!

Dad.

- Dad... - Luke, get away from me.

Run!

Oh, no.

I love you.

Don't forget.

No!

Luke!

Luke!

Luke?

Luke?

Let's work this out.

We can do this together, okay, buddy?

Hey, I've got the sat phone.

Crypto.

Come on out and I'll call for help, okay?

Hey!

Luke?

Luke?

I can hear you.

Come on, seriously.

Hey, where do you think you're going?

Luke?

- Okay. - Luke?

Okay, boy.

Come on. Come on. Come on.

Come on.

It's your camera.

This is your home.

No.

No, no.

No, please.

You think you could just get away from me?

I'm a professional, Luke!

Actually, you know, now that your dad is not around,

I'd say, I'm officially the best in the world at this.

No.

No, get away from me.

Get-get away from me!

Luke, I really don't want to do this.

But if I'm gonna take credit for this place,

then you really can't be around.

I'm sorry.

Truly.

That's not very friendly, is it?

No.

No, he is friendly.

He's friendly because he's protecting me.

Not you.

This is Luke Marchant.

This will be my last diary entry.

I've got to butcher the cameras, the parts could be useful.

The sat phone got smashed up again.

I don't know if I'll be able to fix it this time.

Anyway, I'll come up with a backup plan.

My message in a bottle.

I've been walking for a while now into the valley.

It'll be getting dark soon so I'll have to find shelter,

but first, I-I want us to show you something.

Everyone might be watching this.

Ready?

Well, dad, I'm guessing you would have liked it here.

Okay, I'm gonna try and make it to the valley floor

while there's still sunlight.

I don't exactly know what I'm gonna find,

we'll just have to see, right?

Anyway, looks like I might have a guide.

That's everything.

I'm gonna sign off now.

Maybe I'll see you around.

A new twist in the mystery surrounding the disappearance

of the British expedition team in the Congo.

A rucksack reportedly belonging to one of the team members

has been discovered floating down the tributary

of the Kasai river,

which flows through the heart

of the dense northern central jungle.

Contained inside the rucksack are video hard drives

which were carefully wrapped in waterproof bags.

Local police are hoping that the video will shed light

on what happened,

and lead to the immediate rescue of the team.

More news as it comes in.

Is it working?

I think so.

Yeah. Yeah, that's it.

Hello?

Hello?
