[Lie to Love]

[Episode 23]

Wait for me.

I'll put down the luggage.

[Board Chairman]

Your seat is so comfortable.

Do you like it?

You can have this office if you like it.

I'll take the office upstairs.

I don't think this is suitable.

Why not?

I'm the current chairman.

And you're my executive secretary.

It's perfectly reasonable for you to have your own office.

People will think that you're giving me special treatment.

I am giving you special treatment. So what?

Do you think they can do something about it?

I appreciate your intention.

I still like my original position better.

If not, you won't be able to see me when you raise your head.

I can look downwards.

You...

Enough.

I'm here to talk about business.

I came back to join the Lantian Bay project.

Chuchu is in charge of the Lantian Bay project.

That's great.

I can learn more from Director Shi.

Really?

Come in.

Miss Su, you're back.

Director Shi, it's been a while.

I'll leave the room if you need to speak with Chairman Li.

Have a seat.

What's the matter?

It's like this.

The Lantian Bay project is progressing at full speed.

We need to purchase some construction materials urgently.

Please take a look.

I'll leave that to you.

I believe in you.

By the way,

the commercial dispute that Huo Jian had left for the company,

is Mr. Xie handling it right now?

Of course. He's our corporate lawyer.

It's like this. For these cases,

I wish to deal with them myself.

You don't need to pass them to Mr. Xie.

What do you mean by this?

I think these cases are pretty important.

That's precisely why I need to handle them myself.

It's better this way.

By the way, Chuchu,

Xieyi wishes to join the Lantian Bay project.

Please lead her and help her out.

She does intend to learn from you.

Since Miss Su wants to learn, I will oblige.

But Chairman Li, please don't blame me for being too strict on her.

See you.

Come in.

Director Shi, I've read the details of the Lantian Bay project.

Just tell me if you need me to do anything.

It's the end of the year now.

We haven't decided the kind of gift we should give to our partners.

You can go and pick several kinds of gifts.

- But... - The gifts represent Chairman Li's image to his partners.

You're his girlfriend.

It's most suitable for you to complete this task.

You know this as well.

I wish to contribute to the Lantian Bay project.

Miss Su, since you're truly interested in the Lantian Bay project,

you should learn from me.

Take it one step at a time.

Is there anything else?

Director Shi, I've always admired and respected you.

I believe that you're a fair person.

Maybe it's my misconception,

but I think you always had a grudge against me.

You can tell me if there's anything on your mind.

- You're the daughter of Shen Zhihong, right? - That's right.

So you admit that you hid your identity on purpose,

approached Zeliang and infiltrated Ocean Hotel

for Zhiwei Corporation and your father's sake, right?

I admit it, that was the case at the start.

But this is over.

Huo Jian has been arrested.

And now, I'm staying in Ocean Hotel for a simple reason.

It's because I love the hotel industry.

And I wish to help A'Yan.

Is that it?

That's it.

You can ask A'Yan if you don't believe me.

He knows about it as well.

I did ask Zeliang about it before.

But love makes people blind.

So I wish to give you some reminders.

I don't care what you're thinking,

but if you dare to hurt Zeliang and Ocean Hotel,

I will never let you off.

Director Shi, I know you detested my relationship with A'Yan.

Indeed.

Hengye Bank, which belongs to your father,

has always been an important financial support for Ocean Hotel.

You're very capable as well.

As for me, I know I lose to you in many aspects.

But A'Yan and I have too many similar life experiences.

That's why we understand each other better.

That's why we're deeply in love.

Very good.

Love is more than just fancy words.

You better perform in work.

Su Xieyi, Ocean Hotel is everything to Zeliang.

I can't let you ruin it for him.

I will reveal your true colors,

no matter what I have to do.

Xieqing, time to take your medicine.

Where am I?

I'm very scared.

I wish to go home.

Where do you want to go?

I wish to go home,

my own home.

Don't you like staying here together with me?

From today onward, this will be your new home.

Only by staying here and staying by my side will you be safe.

Xieqing, did you remember anything?

For example, the bank account?

I don't know. I don't know. I don't know! I don't know!

It's fine. It's fine.

You can stop thinking. You should take your medicine first.

I don't want to.

Be a good girl.

You can have your mung bean cakes after taking your medicine.

Come.

Take your medicine.

Xieqing, you shouldn't have spoken without thinking.

If you do remember anything, you must tell me first, okay?

Come.

[Incoming call: Xieyi]

Xieyi?

Hello, Brother Minghao.

How's Xieqing?

Xieqing's emotions are still unstable.

I plan to find her a better sanatorium.

Is it that serious? I'll visit her after work then.

No need for that. She suffered a huge shock yesterday.

The doctor said she needed to rest and recuperate for the time being.

No one should visit her.

How about this? You can come and visit her after some time.

I don't want her to suffer another shock.

All right.

You must contact me if anything happens.

Don't worry.

Xieyi, are you done with your call? Come and join us.

Coming.

Xieyi, what's on your mind? You look distracted.

Nothing.

By the way, how were you guys doing when I was on leave?

Let's drop the topic. Our company wanted to proceed with the Lantian Bay project.

We were busy every day.

Not only do we have to work overtime every day,

we had to attend meetings from morning until night.

It must've been tough on you guys.

Eat up, okay? It's my treat.

I was waiting for that, lady boss.

Let's dig in.

I heard that you went for a tooth extraction.

Everyone said that extracting your tooth could make your face look smaller.

And your face...

I think it did become smaller.

I wish to extract my wisdom tooth as well. But I have none.

Stop teasing me. Isn't it great that you don't have one?

Hello?

Okay.

Stop eating. Clean up the table. Our higher-ups want us to attend another meeting.

Let's go.

- Xieyi, please pack the food for us. We haven't had our fill yet. - Understood.

- Go now. - Okay, thank you.

Let's go.

- Goodbye. - Goodbye.

Goodbye.

Waiter, please pack the food for me.

Excuse me, sir.

If you're not a customer, you're not allowed to take pictures here.

Why haven't I heard of that rule before?

Why can't I take pictures of the place?

Are you trying to infringe my personal right?

This is the rule here.

Besides, how did you know that I'm not a customer?

Are you looking down on me?

Call your manager here.

I want to complain about you.

Hold this for me.

Excuse me, sir. How should I address you?

My surname is He.

Are you the manager?

Hello, Mr. He.

I'm Su Xieyi from the chairman's office.

You did misunderstand our employee just now.

This rule was implemented not long ago.

But please listen to my explanation.

The dining environment here is great.

At first, it became popular because people took pictures of it.

More and more influencers and freeloaders came all the way here to take pictures.

It has impacted our business seriously and affected our customers' dining experience.

I'm sure you don't want random people to take pictures around you when you're eating.

That's why this rule was implemented to protect our customers' rights.

Miss Su, I'm glad that you explained it to me in that manner.

I'm not an unreasonable person.

If you don't mind, let me take the pictures for you.

Okay.

Sorry about that. I have rhinitis.

[No. 9 Steak House]

Mr. Li, I've investigated the background of Yunxiao Fishery's owner.

His name is Tang Zheng.

He had never done any kind of business before he established this company.

His hobby is fishing.

His past work experiences have nothing to do with fisheries at all.

He sounds unreliable. Where is he?

This person is as slippery as a catfish. He went overseas after his company went bankrupt.

I have no idea where he is.

Did you find any other clues?

Oh, yeah.

This is Qin.

He worked for Yunxiao Fishery before.

Because of his love for fishing, he was quite close to Tang Zheng.

Let's try to find this Qin first.

Okay.

Mr. Dai!

Hurry! Please come in! Let me introduce him. This is Mr. Xie.

- Mr. Xie. - Hello.

This is my secret trump card.

He's the chief editor of Hotel World, Mr. He Jianghua.

Mr. He, today… I did everything according to your plan.

I've met them, and I've taken pictures of them.

I knew we could rely on you.

Mr. Dai, you'd made a great move.

Of course. Come. How about this?

Let us have a toast to prepare for the exciting show tomorrow.

- Cheers! - Come.

Come! Cheers!

[Incoming call: Shi Chuchu]

Cheers!

Director Shi.

Lawyer Xie.

I called you out at this late hour. I'm not troubling you, am I?

Not at all. Director Shi, it's my pleasure for you to treat me to a drink.

So you just finished drinking?

I entertained several clients today.

Director Shi, your call actually saved me.

So Director Shi, what do you need from me?

Nothing.

The Lantian Bay project is proceeding smoothly, and I have to thank you for that.

That's why I wish to treat you to a drink.

Come.

Now that the project is proceeding smoothly,

Su Xieyi wishes to join the project.

Zeliang wants me to lead her as well.

Mr. Xie, do you have any suggestions?

After all, you know her better.

Su Xieyi? She's not suitable for it.

But why?

Is it because of her ability and experience?

Su Xieyi is very intelligent.

It isn't as simple as you think.

Why are you saying that?

No, you see, the Lantian Bay project is too important.

Mr. Xie,

there's no need for you to hide it any longer.

Actually, I've asked Su Xieyi about it before.

She admitted that

she first joined Ocean Hotel in order to investigate the incident with Zhiwei Corporation.

She said so herself?

That's right.

She even said that she's working for Ocean Hotel right now

because of her passion for the industry.

At first, I was wondering if I could truly believe her words.

But your attitude has given me the answer I needed.

Plus, you don't suggest I use her.

Is this a friendly reminder?

Director Shi, we're friends. Can you not...

Can you not make things difficult for me?

We're friends indeed.

But I hope we can become close friends.

I wish to know

if Su Xieyi has any ulterior motives for staying with Ocean Hotel?

When Su Xieyi wants to do something, she'll do it somehow.

Do you know how she managed to become the Deputy General Manager's Secretary back then?

Lin Tai?

She was the one behind that incident?

Sorry, Director Shi.

Miss Su.

Mr. He?

What a coincidence. Are you here to buy books as well?

That's right. I often go on business trips.

That's why I visit the bookstores near the hotel.

I can buy some books as well.

Miss Su, what are you buying?

I've been learning how to make soups lately. I wanted to buy some cookbooks.

Soup?

Taking soup before meals works better than medicine.

Soups are great.

You see, Miss Su, in Guangzhou, they have old fire soup.

In Fujian, they have Buddha's temptation.

In Jiangzhe, they have bamboo shoot and salted pork soup.

In this world, there are plenty of great soups.

Miss Su, I wonder what kind of soup you like?

Mr. He, seems like you're very knowledgeable when it comes to soup.

Do you have any recommendations?

Miss Su, it depends on whom the soup is meant for.

It's meant for my boyfriend.

I suggest old fire soup then.

Managing a relationship is just like making old fire soup.

You need to cook it for a long time.

- Because of that, old fire soup is... - Please wait. Let me jot it down.

Miss Su, the word stew means to cook slowly in liquid in a closed dish.

So, the pot meant for making soups is very important.

It's best if you use an aged clay pot.

The soup you make is not just food that can fill up your tummy,

it's also a way of expressing your affection.

So a soup is more than just a soup.

Miss Su, it represents your love as well.

Mr. He, your words just gave more meaning to the soup making.

Making soup is a type of attitude towards life.

Old fire soup has the nutrition of a tonic and the taste of a savory soup.

So you won't go wrong if you follow my recommendations.

Thank you, Mr. He. You've done me a great favor.

My hobby is eating and playing.

Miss Su, if you don't mind, why don't you add me as a friend?

It'll be more convenient for us to contact each other in the future.

Sure.

The soup you make is not just food that can fill up your tummy,

it's also a way of expressing your affection.

So a soup is more than just a soup.

It represents your love as well.

So that's the case.

It smells nice.

Were you referring to the soup or me?

Both.

On account of your sweet words, I'll let you have a try.

I mean the soup. Why did you kiss me?

Xieyi, let me ask you.

If...

I'm saying if,

a person who's important to you

has done something to hurt you,

what will you do?

Of course, I won't forgive him.

Didn't you hear of this before?

Love well, whip well.

Wait.

Li Zeliang,

why did you ask me that?

Speak.

Did you do something bad behind my back?

I didn't.

- Really? - Really.

Come here.

Raise your arms.

I'm going to see if you're lying.

If you lie to me, your heartbeat will betray you.

Ask me then.

Who's the woman you love the most?

Su Xieyi.

In the future, no matter what it is, you won't deceive me, am I right?

As long as I know the truth behind them, I won't deceive you.

So, do you want a son or a daughter?

I want both.

Strange.

Your heartbeat is getting faster.

Speak. Did you lie to me?

I'm sure you want a daughter.

Everyone wants another little lover.

I did lie to you.

It's because I want more than just two children.

I want enough children to form a football team.

- You're so greedy. I'm not that free. - Sit properly.

We don't need to rush.

Let's take our time.

Let's start withthe goalkeeper.

After that, we can give birth to the strikers,

the defensive midfielders,

and the left midfielders.

After that, we'll...

If not, a basketball team works as well.

Director Shi, this morning, someone published an article anonymously.

It mentioned Huo Jian

selling fake wine and artwork when he was the chairman.

And in the article, the Lantian Bay project was mentioned specifically.

He said he has the project cost estimation list of the Lantian Bay project.

From the list,

it states that our company plans to use artificial hot water

instead of hot spring water to gain maximum profit.

And he condemns us for deceiving the consumers.

Xieyi, let's go.

A'Yan, we're in trouble.

Currently, our industry and the public have known about this.

The group's share price is plummeting.

Now, the shareholders are debating whether to acknowledge the news.

We have to acknowledge it.

If we tell one lie, we need to create more lies to compensate for them.

In the end, it'll only ruin our company's image and trust.

That's what I thought as well.

Plenty of press is outside our company.

We need to come out with a PR solution as soon as possible.

The best solution is to prevent it before it happens.

As for the fake wine, we've corrected it internally.

As for the clients who had bought those fake wines, [Fake Wine Client List]

I've listed them down and contacted them.

Although we've only compensated some of the clients just yet,

this is enough to prove our sincerity.

With this compensation list, I hope it can at least produce some positive effects.

But the main point isn't the fake wine and artwork.

It's the Lantian Bay project.

This project is vital to Ocean Hotel.

I know that.

I will think of a way to clarify it.

Director Shi, please arrange for a press conference.

Okay.

There's one more thing.

He Jianghua said an anonymous person leaked the news to him.

The information that was leaked was accurate and detailed.

Does that mean we have a spy among us?

That's possible.

After the press conference, I wish to hold an internal review.

I must find out the identity of the person who leaked the information.

Okay. I'll assist you.

It's done.

Later, I'll ask the Housekeeping Department to send you an air purifier.

I noticed that your nose was irritated.

If I wish to provide him with clues, first, I need to know who he is.

Speaking of which, Miss Su, you met He Jianghua in the hotel, right?

I did meet him before. But I only regarded him as an ordinary customer.

And everything I did, I did it to protect the company's image.

Director Shi, are you suspecting me?

I'm taking the matter on its merits. I'm just analyzing the situation.

You don't need to be anxious and refute my statement.

All right.

Chuchu, I believe this is a misunderstanding.

Our current priority is to hold a press conference

and clarify that Huo Jian was behind the old proposal.

At the same time, we need to announce our new proposal.

Okay. I'll go and prepare now.

A'Yan, I really met him by pure coincidence on that day.

I didn't know his true identity.

Don't take it to heart.

People are talking about this.

Director Shi, she's under huge pressure as well.

I believe in you.

I will resolve this.

Hello, Mr. He.

I'm Su Xieyi, the friend you added in the bookstore last time.

Are you free to talk right now?

Mr. He, I saw what you wrote online.

There are many misunderstandings.

I hope I have the chance to explain the situation to you personally.

If you're too busy to meet up with me, I hope we can communicate through the phone for now.

[Calling: He Jianghua]

[Calling: He Jianghua]

This is amazing. The press conference has produced immediate results.

The share price of Ocean Hotel has been stabilized.

But, we just initiated the Lantian Bay project, and someone leaked this news to the press.

Don't you think it's too much of a coincidence?

Precisely. But that He Jianghua said someone tipped him off anonymously.

Who do you think that person is?

An anonymous tip-off?

Who cares? If we find out his identity, he'll be fired.

What an ingrate. I can't understand why.

[Hello, Mr. He. I'm Su Xieyi, the friend you added in the bookstore last time. Are you free to talk right now? Mr. He, I saw what you wrote online. I hope I have the chance to explain the situation to you personally. If you're too busy...]

Very good. Strike while the iron is hot,

we should publish the articles that we had prepared before.

That's right. We need to try our best to reverse public opinion.

All right, that's it.

[Vice-chairman Shi Chuchu]

Jessica: Director Shi, check the post on the forum. This is huge.

These people are too free.

They have too much free time on their hands.

What has it got to do with me? I'm just concerned about the validity of the content.

Ocean Hotel has always been my favorite hotel.

This is so disappointing.

I'm an avid reader of Hotel World.

The chief editor, He Jianghua, is a man of great taste.

I've been following him on his social accounts.

That's right. I saw him in the bookstore last time.

Back then, he was chatting with a beautiful girl.

I did meet him before.

But I thought he was just an ordinary customer.

And everything I did, I did it to protect the company's image.

Director Shi, are you suspecting me?

Xieyi.

A'Yan, you're back? How's the situation?

I had called the shareholders just now.

Everyone is satisfied with the result of the press conference.

That's good to hear.

Su Xieyi,

when will you stop pretending?

Director Shi, I can explain this.

Explain what? Explain why you leaked information to He Jianghua?

Since there are pictures of you and him, there's no way for you to deny it.

Calm down for now. Let's return to our office.

We can clarify any misunderstandings over there.

No need for that. Let's make things clear right now.

Fine. Speak.

That day, I went to buy some soup cookbooks.

I did meet He Jianghua coincidentally.

He is very knowledgeable when it comes to soup.

That's why I asked him some questions.

You meet him by accident twice in a row? What a coincidence indeed.

Why would you check your phone if you only asked him questions?

Or, were you trying to leak our secrets?

We were just adding each other on social media.

Fine then. Call him right now and ask him to prove your innocence.

[Calling: He Jianghua]

I have tried to contact him since this morning. But he hasn't replied yet.

That means you have no witness to prove your innocence.

I think the so-called "adding each other on social media" is a story you came up with.

- Mr. Shi. - Chairman Li,

I, Shi Chuchu, do not mess around.

He Jianghua said someone approached him and tipped him off about our company.

That means the person must exist.

Now, we have evidence that Su Xieyi had met him in private.

And, the proposal for the Lantian Bay project, you left it at home, right?

That means no one else has the chance to make contact with it, except for Su Xieyi.

With those two points, the truth has been proved.

Director. Shi, I've already explained it to you.

We just had an exchange about soups.

I even made notes of his suggestions.

If you don't believe me, I can show it to you.

Besides that, we didn't talk about anything else.

Su Xieyi, do you even believe in your own words?

Director Shi,

I believe in Xieyi.

That night, Xieyi did buy some soup cookbooks and studied them at home.

I've read her notes as well.

I can testify for her.

What about the proposal for the Lantian Bay project?

Can you be sure that she hasn't seen it before?

Yes.

Although you didn't see it, that doesn't mean it didn't happen.

Now, there's no evidence to prove her innocence.

But you have no evidence to prove that it's Su Xieyi. Am I right?

Zeliang, both you and I know why Su Xieyi joined Ocean Hotel in the first place.

Director Shi!

Don't you think there are many points of doubt in this case?

Fine. If you don't want me to say it here, I'll keep quiet.

But I hope you can be sober.

This is not the time for you to act emotionally.

I'm very sober. Let me ask you this.

Why did He Jianghua meet Su Xieyi twice in a row?

And why did he mention that someone tipped him off deliberately?

And at this timing, why would someone post pictures of them seeing each other online?

And it was a clear shot as well.

When you add everything together,

don't you think someone is trying to frame her?

You're just trying to cover up for her.

Director Shi, this is not the time for you to be emotional.

If this took place in the past,

I'm sure you could reveal the truth behind the points of doubt.

Now, it's my problem?

Fine. I do need to calm down.

I've been too exhausted lately. I need to take a long break.

You want evidence, right?

I'll find them eventually.

A'Yan.

Let's talk in the office.

A'Yan, I did read the proposal for the Lantian Bay project.

Why did you deny it just now?

It's because I trust you.

I don't want people to slander or suspect you.

You don't suspect me at all?

Xieyi. If we can't even trust each other on this matter,

how can we spend the rest of our life together?
