=Episode 30=

Ever since I changed my name to Lin Shao Ting,

and ever since I met you,

I reached the peak of my life.

Be more positive.

In any case,

we still need to face up to it,

right?

By the way,

when is the competition starting?

You still dare to bring it up.

We already shot the posters.

Then what about me?

We will just

circulate those ugly pictures of you.

That would be a pity.

I, the one and only Lin Shao,

will have my reputation of

being so handsome, destroyed.

I feel so sad for you.

You've been

in the company for a few months.

What are your thoughts?

Boss Ren,

these few months

has probably been

the biggest turning point in my life.

Wu Yue, do you know?

I chose you from amongst so many students,

from amongst so many newcomers.

Because I think highly of you.

You have the ambition,

determination, and capability

to achieve big things.

I think I've always

treated you well.

No matter what mistakes you've made,

I tried my best to fight for you.

I even brought you on

such a big project like Qian Da.

All because I want you

to grow quickly.

I understand.

Since you understand,

why not tell me

why you're doing this?

No matter what,

you owe me an explanation.

It seems like you know everything.

You're right.

I leaked the tender.

And?

Hasn't the tender been disqualified?

Everything I have done

is now pointless.

Brain Data can

bid again in the future.

I will also resign.

Even at this point,

you're still not being completely honest with me,

right?

Okay, let me ask you.

Was it also you

who broke the news about the account?

After the tender ended,

I did not touch the account.

I know.

Know what?

I'm out of the race.

Wu Yue.

Do you know

what you're giving up?

You're giving up on your

bright future...

The honor of being the best newcomer.

The opportunity to be promoted to the manager.

In that case,

why did you do this?

Because of your relationship with Su Xiao Man?

Or is it because of

that petty sum her father gave you?

This has nothing to do with Xiao Man.

It was my own decision.

You will regret this.

I'm wrong.

I'm sorry for what happened,

but I have no regrets.

Come to your senses, Wu Yue.

Tell me,

why did you do this?

Tell me!

I'm sorry, Boss.

I've let you down.

Return your black briefcase.

Leave immediately.

Be prepared to receive

a summons from the courts.

Sure.

I am willing to accept any punishment.

Why?

You don't trust my sincerity?

Let me give you two presents then.

(Mr. Wang,)

(it's also not easy for me.)

(Everyone wants to use their own people.)

(I am trying my best to cut down)

(the strength of every department.)

(I have even)

(used those newcomers)

(with no background.)

(Even then,)

(Mr. Kang still is complaining to me.)

(But don't worry,)

(this is still our domain.)

(But let me be clear...)

What can this prove?

Isn't this just the usual

way of doing sales.

Don't tell me you

don't know that.

Deleted.

You don't need to worry anymore.

What's the second one?

(Cashback Card. VIP CLUB CARD)

This card

should be returned to its original owner.

(Cashback Card. VIP CLUB CARD)

I don't want to leave Brain Data.

I have not mentally prepared myself.

We should already have been

mentally prepared

from the moment we joined Mad Geek.

Who would have thought

we would make it so far?

You really want to join the competition?

Aren't we mad geeks?

Alright.

If that's the case,

I support you.

It's not so simple.

Lin Shao,

you have the resources to be impulsive.

If it goes badly,

you can go back home,

go to Qian Da

and be some manager.

What about us?

Forget not having salaries for two months.

I'm someone who lives paycheck to paycheck.

Money for food, rent,

and everything else

will be a problem.

Lin Shao has long stopped

depending on his dad.

How about the office?

Once we quit,

we can never

step foot into Brain Data.

Water, internet, air-conditioning,

and the comfortable swivel chairs...

Where else can we get it?

Fine, fine.

Look at you guys worrying.

I blame myself for being a fan of Mad Geek.

Be subtle about it.

Don't let my boss know.

How can you eavesdrop?

That's right.

Lao Xu can still

help us come up with ideas.

Forget it.

Everyone here knows us.

Look at the four of you.

Since I have nothing better to do anyway.

Do you want help or not?

If not, I'm not going to care anymore.

In that case, could you help us

bring over four cups of free lemonade?

Sure, sure.

Forget it.

Let's just resign.

At most,

Lin Shao can support me.

Sure.

I will take care of your

living expenses.

Deal.

Mr. Wu Yue, that expression on your face

looks like you're trying to fool us or something.

I've already quit.

Or rather, I was fired.

Who let them quit!

The HR department

and Ms. Zhu.

What's up with Boss?

Why?

Now that you're all alone,

you know you need to curry favor with me?

What do you mean alone?

What happened?

Your sweetheart, pursuer,

and frenemy

have all resigned.

Who gave you the authority to

sign their resignation letters?

They are my people!

(Han Rui)

Mr. Ren,

what happened?

So angry so early in the morning?

I asked you,

who gave you the authority!

I am a senior director.

How could I not even

have authority over personnel changes?

Besides,

I didn't fire them.

What do you know?

Do you know that they...

Indeed, I do want to know.

Aren't they just

some new employees?

They haven't been converted yet.

If they don't want to stay, then forget it!

As for you,

I wanted to ask.

What kind of deal do you have

with these kids?

You have to take back

the three of them.

Not a single one can leave!

(Ren Qian Qiu.)

(Don't go overboard.)

(They screwed up the tender)

(and caused so many blunders.)

Don't worry, Han Rui.

I will take care of it.

Goodbye.

What exactly do you want?

Nothing.

I'm just doing what's best for the company.

Merging with you

is one of the worst decisions

I have made.

Alright.

It's time to work.

It's now time for me to shine.

I've become like Feng Zheng Zheng.

So annoying.

No way.

The issue of you going incognito

hasn't been resolved?

Maybe it's the production team that's doing this.

For publicity,

issues with Lin Shao's family

will inevitably be used.

Forget it.

Let's go to another cafe

tomorrow.

Changing cafes is easy.

But what about the future?

Indeed.

What's more important is,

based on my calculations,

we still need one more server

and a few more colleagues.

Otherwise, we can't catch up.

What are you looking at?

Brain Data just came out

to refute the rumors.

And pretended to put out

the employees' files to say that

there is no employee named "Lin".

Actually, that's true.

What?

All of us have resigned.

What did you say?

I said I've resigned.

I want to focus on the competition now.

Ren Qian Qiu agreed to your resignation?

He is someone who will not give up

until he achieves his goal.

Not everyone is like you...

Perhaps, Boss is.

After all,

it's not uncommon to make use of your position to

gain an advantage.

It's just that others don't know it.

Xiao Man,

Are you done?

Do you have to force me to

announce my wrongdoings

to the whole world, huh?

Alright.

Whatever makes you happy.

You were the one who leaked the news, right?

If I had such

explosive news on hand,

would I need to seek out Wu Yue?

Xiao Jia is a pretty good kid.

Things aren't easy for Wu Yue too.

You better not

do anything that would disappoint her.

Xiao Man is my own daughter.

On that note,

Wu Yue is a good person,

but his family background

cannot compare to ours.

(Mad Geek)

I have to say. I'm really handsome.

Lin Shao,

your narcissism is really

getting too much.

Boss Ren.

Why?

Am I not welcomed?

But...

What are you doing here?

After discussion with the production team,

I have returned as a mentor.

Surprised?

Boss,

about us resigning,

we didn't want to make things difficult for you.

Don't worry.

I'm not such a narrow-minded person.

I will support good products.

It has nothing to do with my position.

But

don't expect me to make any concessions for you.

This time,

only two teams will win.

You need to remember one thing.

You

are still you.

Except that

your teammates have changed.

Above all, you must

help and

trust each other.

All the best.

Everyone,

follow me backstage.

Hurry.

Welcome to

the semi-finals of Mad Geek.

Have you noticed that

we have more

colors on stage?

That is because

we have mixed up

all four groups of contestants.

They have to

step out of their comfort zone.

Of course,

we have adjusted

the competition's rules accordingly.

Every contestant

would have to win in their personal capacity

in order for

their project to

have a chance to win.

In this round,

only two teams will win.

We will be using a

weighted points system.

(Mu Yi) What?

You have shamelessly returned

(Ren Qian Qiu) just to support your underlings?

Especially that Lin Shao Ting.

They have resigned.

Based on each group's performance,

we'll determine who's first, second, third, and fourth.

Also, every person

in their own groups...

I'm already confused.

Don't worry about anything.

I'm here.

One more thing.

Bing Leng Qing Team,

since you only have three members,

we will take

your total points

and multiply it by 4/3

at the very end

in order to be fair.

Now, let me explain

your mission.

(Competition Rules) The mission for all teams

are the same.

Every team will

have 30,000 yuan as starting capital.

You cannot use

any external resources.

All teams must buy the same thing.

Why the long face?

Haven't you sold soil before?

Following these old scholars,

I feel

you would either be buried alive

or be forced to eat dirt literally.

We can take this and

sell it at the nursery or fish market.

Such places would always need soil, right?

That's called a cheap sale.

A cheap sale is better than no sales.

Mentors,

please cast your votes.

I think the idea is pretty good.

There's a lot of money to be earned from kids.

Pass.

I don't think so.

Pass.

Alright, alright, don't cry.

Come on, let me help you out.

Why?

Did it get into your eye?

What happened,

baby?

The sand got into her eyes.

Come on, let Granny take a look.

Come on.

It got into your eyes?

Let me blow on it.

Let's go, let's go.

Thank you, thank you.

Come on, let me carry you.

Thank you.

Could you show some effort,

Miss Su?

You can't just throw away your dignity

just because you resigned.

Forget it. No need to say thanks for people's kindness.

That's all.

(Police)

Captain Li.

What's with the crowd?

We have concluded the

Chen Da Yuan's matter.

Come with us.

Is this about Chen Da Yuan?

Yes.

But there's more.

Please.

(Brother Qin)

Hello?

Mr. Sun, your phone?

(Qin Ling)

Supervisor Sun,

aren't you on a business trip?

Nan Xi,

where is Mr. Ren?

I tried calling him,

but no one picked up.

Mr. Ren is filming the program.

Could you help me contact him?

This...

Nan Xi,

help me print out the notes

from yesterday's meeting

and put it in my office.

Okay.

This is?

This is the previous

supervisor of the IT department, Sun Qi.

This is our company's current

CEO, Judy.

Ms. Zhu.

Nice to meet you, Ms. Zhu.

I heard you were

assigned other places.

Now...

What?

Ren Qian Qiu was

doing all that secretly?

Yes, Ms. Zhu.

So you can't blame me for this.

I can't even help myself.

Don't worry.

The shareholders and I

will weigh the pros and cons.

Once it has been settled,

it might be possible for you to come back.

Ms. Zhu,

I will rely on you from now on.

Shao Ting.

How did things turn out this way?

Don't be too worried.

It's my fault.

I shouldn't have let him apply for an annulment.

It's not because of that.

Then what is it about?

Take this.

Your father handed this to me

before he got implicated.

There is USD 10,000 inside

and a plane ticket to Los Angeles.

Tomorrow?

Yes.

Don't be too worried

about your father.

There's no issue to begin with.

Besides,

I will still be here.

You being here

won't help anyway.

And you will get bothered by the media.

Why should I go to Los Angeles?

This is

the hospital that your mother is staying at.

My mother?

(Sun Qi) (Eleven missed calls)

(Sorry,)

(the number you have dialed is unavailable.)

But...

Aren't we going to find Lin Shao?

Lin Shao has also been brought to the station?

Captain Zhan.

Chen Da Yuan's matter has concluded?

Why didn't you tell me?

This matter became

more serious

and was transferred out.

We also just knew about it.

Didn't Chen Da Yuan take

all of the refunds?

How did Liang Hong Da get involved?

Those are not refunds.

Those were clients' principals.

Also, there wasn't that much.

Chen Da Yuan only took 2 million yuan.

How about the refunds?

There were no such refunds.

A total of 2 billion yuan

has disappeared.

Don't talk nonsense.

This is still being investigated.

Wu Yue.

No...

I'm a little confused.

We need to contact Lin Shao.

He must know something.

Definitely.

Let me try asking Xiao Man.

Maybe she would know what to do.

I told Xiao Man

about the situation.

She said

Mai Qi might have

Lin Shao's landline.

She'll contact Mai Qi now.

Then, she will come and meet us.

But

are we still going to the competition tomorrow?

Lin Shao.

The opulence of your house

is beyond my imagination.

Lin Shao.

You're... leaving?

The flight is tomorrow.

To the US.

Lin Shao.

I have a request.

Can you answer two questions?

What is it?

Don't keep us

guessing!

Don't interrupt.

Let's start from the beginning.

So...

I joined Brain Data.

Am I listening to a story?

This is more tragic than

a reality TV show.

That's why, Lin Shao,

please try to remember

what else is suspicious about this whole thing?

This matter

not only affects me

but also

has tons of implications for you.

Even if you say that,

I really have nothing

to tell you.

You also know

of my relationship with my dad...

Please think through everything

from the top again.

Okay.

In any case,

my dad

did some financial products

and, as you all know,

lost it all.

My dad could only

take half of the business to make up for it.

Two billion...

That's about right.

Wu Yue, how much did your parents invest?

I'm not sure.

But...

at most,

it should only be a few million.

That's the problem.

If this 2 billion

was not distributed,

and other victims like you

also didn't receive the money.

But it's been a year.

Why did no one

say anything?

Who was the one

who took this 2 billion?

Is there anyone else

in your company who could have done it?

The one who could have

gained the most from this

is possibly the one who did it.

Your dad is the most suspicious.

That can't be.

Look,

the police have arrested Chen Da Yuan

for some time already.

Along the way, more and more

became implicated.

How could they have not come

to get witnesses from the company?

You mean...

The investigations were done so publicly.

Could he have not known?

If it was really my dad,

would he just sit and wait for his death?

So that means

there's someone in Qian Da

interfering with this matter.

Let me ask Brother Qin.

He knows the company the best.

Brother Qin?

My dad's secretary.

Lin Shao.

The net is being cast wide.

It should be narrowed down in the next few days.

Let's observe for a while first.

Then this...

My mom is still...

I think someone wants you to go away.

Is your home being surveilled?

Don't speak nonsense.

Could it be the police?

Brother Qin.

You scared me.

I thought it was the police.

Tomorrow morning?

It's fine.

I can go to the airport myself.

I'll be fine...

Brother Qin.

Brother Qin?

Brother Qin wants to send me

to the airport tomorrow.

Why is he insisting

on getting you to the airport?

He's worried about me.

He's like my real brother.

Then what do we do?

Are you really going to the airport tomorrow?

It's just that

the competition...

I suggest...

we drop out.

I think this is

more interesting than the competition.

Brother Qin,

you're personally driving me?

Don't trust my driving skills?

I just don't think it's necessary.

Sit tight.

Taking the initiative to come find me?

Your little girlfriend

didn't follow you here?

I'm here specially to give my senior a treat.

Thank you for your work.

I don't even dare to

accept your gift.

You're still bearing a grudge?

Why?

Was the news I gave you not explosive enough?

In the end, I still had to dig it out myself.

Then...

let me give you another big news.

I don't know. I can't hear.

I didn't mean to drop out.

Please.

Do you know that

you have a record?

And you still dare to tell me you want to leave?

You know, it's the semifinals.

Help us out, will you?

It's not within my control.

I don't care.

Regardless,

I'm not letting you drop out.

Don't go!

Is my dad okay?

Don't worry.

Regarding your dad,

I will think of something.

Actually,

I want to stay

and see if I can help with anything.

Shao Ting.

Don't be so capricious.

This matter is complicated.

We don't want you to be implicated.

I didn't do anything.

Why would I be implicated?

You never know.

So many people are observing you.

Observing me?

In any case,

everything we are doing

is for your own good.

This is also what Mr. Liang wants.

No, but...

Don't you want to see your mom?

I do.

That's right.

As for money,

don't worry about it.

When you arrive in the US,

I will transfer some money

to your mother's account.

As for your hobby of buying luxury cars,

you should stop for now.

I don't care about

such things anymore.

Brother Qin.

I still want to stay.

Mr. Ren.

The shareholders are in the meeting room,

waiting for you.

Why are they here again?

and have been having meetings.
