(Immortal Samsara)

(Episode 13)

Why are you two fighting again?

You'll be punished again if the marshal finds out.

Stop fighting! Ao Xuan!

Watch out!

Yu Mo!

Yu Mo!

Why do you keep speaking up for him?

- Let go of me! - What's so good about Yu Mo?

He's just a lowly black fish.

I'm the dragon prince of the Eastern Sea!

Let go of me!

I need to save Yu Mo!

(Although Yu Mo isn't afraid of fire, )

(if this continues, )

(his identity as a descendant from the Nine Fins Clan will be blown.)

(No, I have to extinguish the fire somehow.)

It's useless.

This is the Blazing Dragon Flame of the Eastern Sea Dragon Clan.

Your lowly celestial arts are ineffective against it.

Yu Mo!

The divine plant you consumed just now will protect you.

Don't be scared. You'll be fine.

What can a lowly celestial attendant like you provide him with?

Just wait and see as he turns into a roasted fish.

Ao Xuan, you're too cruel.

I will never marry you!

You won't be able to save him. Just follow me.

You'll be my empress once I become the ruler of the four seas.

I will treat you well.

(Is that Nine Fins Clan's Light of Flame?)

(Is Yu Mo actually a descendant of the Nine Fins Clan?)

What's the matter? Have you finally made up your mind?

What are you guys doing

in the middle of the night?

Marshal, I, and Yu Mo were sparring just now.

- But he... - Stop lying.

You were the one who set him on fire on purpose.

Yu Mo!

Yu Mo, how are you doing?

I'm fine.

I just feel hot.

Hot? Let me fan you.

You're actually alive?

It's impossible for an ordinary black fish to survive dragon flame.

Marshal, I'm sure he's hiding something.

Marshal, it's like this.

I wonder if you had heard about the Snow Lingzhi?

It's a divine plant offered by the Aqua Clan to the Supreme God.

It can nourish one's celestial spirit after consumption.

Yu Mo just consumed the Snow Lingzhi.

That's how he was able to survive.

Where did you get your hands on such a precious plant?

Everyone in the Nine Heavens knew

that my sister, Zhi Xi, had saved His Majesty.

His Majesty gave her the plant to repay her kindness.

And, my sister gave it to me.

And, Yu Mo and I are great friends.

I heard that he was punished by you.

That's why I gave him the Snow Lingzhi.

That's how he was able to survive.

What's with the long story?

Shouldn't you be at Sovereign Lord Ying Yuan's palace?

Why did you come here in the middle of the night?

You better head back immediately!

Yes, I shall take my leave.

Did you brats forget about the last fight?

Was the punishment not severe enough?

Is the Xuanxin Cliff a place for you two to spar?

Here lie the precious spirit beasts

kept by Celestial Deity Bei Ming for thousands of years.

Could you guys bear the responsibility

if they were hurt because of your fight?

From today onward,

Ao Xuan,

Yan Dan...

No, I mean Yu Mo.

The two of you

will return to your own rooms

and reflect upon your actions!

None of you

shall leave your rooms without my permission!

Yes, Marshal.

Your Majesty.

I have a favor to ask.

Your Majesty, you should know

that Yan Dan does not like to strive hard.

It's been tough on her

when she was serving you in this palace.

Yan Dan and I are sisters.

I cannot bear to see her suffer any longer.

Your Majesty, please transfer her back to Xuanxin Cliff.

Was this Yan Dan's intention?

Last night, a fire broke out in Xuanxin Cliff.

In order to save her friend, Yu Mo,

she gave him the precious Snow Lingzhi.

Yan Dan is very close with Celestial Deity Bei Ming.

And now, she got herself a loyal friend over there.

I would return to that place if I were in her shoes.

She's pretty generous.

Get up.

You ripped out your heart to save me,

but you're asking me to reward her?

Don't you have anything you desire?

I heard that Yanxu Heavenly Palace was known

for a celestial art called Flying Strings.

It uses a zither as the base, and it's very unique.

I'm very interested in that celestial art.

Your Majesty, could you please impart it to me?

That's the gist of Flying Strings.

Have you remembered them?

Yes, I have.

Back then, I taught you the Isolation Spell

when we were at the Land Under The Horizon.

When you practice that spell,

you have to get rid of unnecessary thoughts

and keep a clear heart.

You need to cultivate your heart before your powers,

do you understand?

(Isolation Spell? It's lucky that I know that spell.)

Your Majesty, how could I forget the spell you taught me?

(She's full of lies, and shows no repentance.)

(It's easy to deal with Zhi Xi.)

(However, how can I deal with her)

(without hurting Yan Dan's heart?)

(That's a tricky question.)

(So, His Majesty actually taught Zhi Xi the Isolation Spell too?)

(That's right.)

(I thought the person in his dream was me.)

(But he never uttered my name when I was in his dream.)

(Ying Yuan only fancies)

(the person who stood by him in the Land Under The Horizon.)

(The wife he had envisioned wasn't me.)

(It was Zhi Xi.)

I haven't recovered from my injury.

That's why my power is unstable.

Your Majesty, I was careless.

Your Majesty, please punish me.

Fairy Yan Dan, do you need anything?

- You still remember me? - Of course.

Back then, you and Sovereign Lord Ying Yuan

got rid of the Demon Clan's spies hiding within Qian Yun Palace.

Everyone here is grateful to you two.

It was all His Majesty's contribution.

I was just assisting him

and got lucky.

Not at all. Fairy Yan Dan, you're brave and intelligent.

I heard that your sister Zhi Xi, ripped out her heart to save His Majesty.

The two of you are heroines indeed.

Fairy Yan Dan, do you have any used items that need to be disposed of?

You can just leave them to me.

This censer is very exquisite

and new.

Fairy Yan Dan, are you sure you want to burn it?

Please give me a moment.

Your Supreme Majesty,

I've inquired about it.

Sovereign Lord Ying Yuan did keep Fairy Zhi Xi in his palace.

The rumor was true.

His Majesty treated her nicely.

Not only did he take care of her, but he also taught her music and chess.

He even gave the Snow Lingzhi

to her sister, Yan Dan.

Seems like.

I need to make a trip to Yanxu Heavenly Palace personally.

Greetings, Your Supreme Majesty, Your Majesty.

Is this Fairy Zhi Xi, who had saved your life?

Yes.

Fairy Zhi Xi, you risked your life to save Ying Yuan.

Not only are you Ying Yuan's benefactor,

but you've also contributed to the Heavenly Realm.

Your Supreme Majesty, you flatter me.

I was just fulfilling my duties.

You're the vice-curator of the Pavilion of Magic.

Since when did saving people

became a part of your duties?

Rumors have been going around the Heavenly Court lately.

They said you and Ying Yuan had a relationship.

Was it true or false?

Sovereign Lord Ying Yuan had saved the realms countless times.

His safety is on par with the safety of the realms.

I saved His Majesty for the sake of all living beings.

I harbor no ulterior motives.

I do not dare to set my sights upon His Majesty too.

You should be rewarded for risking your life to save him.

However, if you develop feelings for him in secret,

you'll be going against the heavenly laws.

You shall be punished if you do so.

This is the Severing Cord.

You two will be tied together by this red cord.

If it severs, that means you have no feelings for each other.

If it doesn't, that means you have feelings for each other.

We shall see if you deserve to be rewarded or punished after this.

The Nine Heavens have been around for tens of thousands of years.

And I've already witnessed the case of Si Xuan.

Your Supreme Majesty, I never forgot about your teaching.

Naturally, I'm not afraid of the test.

My conscience is clear.

Please let me do the test to prove my innocence.

Your Supreme Majesty, I will not disappoint you.

Good.

You never disappoint me indeed.

Fairy Zhi Xi, you're a shining example to the others.

I can grant you a reward.

Just tell me what you desire.

I'm loyal to the Heavenly Court.

I saved His Majesty for the sake of the Heavenly Realm.

I do not desire any reward for that.

Fairy Zhi Xi, although you've made a huge contribution to our realm,

you desire no fame or reward.

Good.

You have a pure disposition indeed.

I remember that you have a younger sister.

She even requested a reward for your sake during the Jade Pool Banquet,

am I right?

One of you excels in the pen while the other excels in the sword.

You two complement each other well.

What about this?

I shall spare your sister from the ordeals in the Mortal Realm.

I will allow her to observe the celestial promotion ceremony

and allow you two to spend time with each other.

What do you think?

Thank you, Your Supreme Majesty.

Ying Yuan,

within the vast Three Realms,

countless calamities were formed because of love.

Your mother was one of the examples.

Only by having no feelings

will the deities be able to maintain peace in the Three Realms.

I hope you could remember the reason your mother died

and the punishment your peer suffered.

Do not repeat their mistake

and put the Three Realms in danger.

Your Supreme Majesty, please don't worry.

I will obey the heavenly laws

and not disappoint my mother.

I will use everything I have to protect the Four Seas and Three Realms

so that the world can remain at peace.

(Yan Dan, )

(although I knew that you were the person who stood by me, )

(I could not go against)

(the heavenly laws.)

(What should I do about you?)

To celebrate your return, His Supreme Majesty intends

to hold a banquet at the Jade Pool two days later.

He has used his power

to make the lotuses in the pool bloom overnight.

His Supreme Majesty had instructed

all palaces to contribute manpower

to collect celestial dew at the Jade Pool

for the banquet.

You can bring Yan Dan with you.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Your Majesty, why are you here alone?

Shall we enjoy the scenery together?

No thanks.

It's been so many years.

Your Majesty, I'm sure you can see

all I have done for you.

Why aren't you willing to give me a chance to enjoy the scenery with you?

Don't think that I have no idea.

There's no shortcut to attaining celestialhood.

You have to cultivate your heart before your spirit.

If you harbor evil intentions,

forget about acquiring a celestial spirit,

the Nine Heavens will have no place for you.

As a curator,

you should serve as an example for the rest.

However, you do not repent your ways

and still have no self-respect.

I did everything because I admired your flair, Your Majesty.

I just hoped that I could bring fortune

to the Three Realms, just like you.

Your Majesty,

how could you

slander me?

Just like the lotus,

we should avoid being tainted by filth.

Curator Ying Deng, I hope you can

do as you promise

and keep your nose clean.

Remember the heavenly laws

and abandon your selfish desires.

Your Majesty,

I dare not forget your teaching.

However,

it may be easy for you to say so,

but it's hard for you to do the same thing.

Your Majesty, can you abandon

your selfish desires

and obey the heavenly laws?

The dew is the purest when the lotus first blooms.

Yan Dan, you can collect them here.

Try to fill up this bottle before sunset.

I'll head over there.

Yan Dan.

The scent of lotus can soothe one's nerves.

It's good for your injury.

You can stay here longer.

Take your time.

So, Your Majesty, did you send me here because of this?

Yan Dan.

- Actually... - Zhi Xi's injury is worse.

She should be here

instead of me.

You're from Yanxu Heavenly Palace.

She's not.

when you two first acquired your human forms,

Zhi Xi flustered and panicked.

However, you were there protecting her

without showing any signs of cowardice.

It was as if you were the elder sister.

It's all in the past now.

There's no need to bring it up.

Back then, when I was at the Land Under The Horizon,

I witnessed the same lotus-blooming scene as well.

But I was blind back then.

I could only smell their scent.

However, those lotuses

were 100 times more fragrant than the ones we have here.

Although the lotuses here are thriving,

they give out a sense of desolateness.

I wonder how are the lotuses in the Mortal Realm?

Are they more vibrant

and warmer than the lotuses we have here?

His Supreme Majesty

has granted Zhi Xi a reward.

She has been spared from the ordeals in the Mortal Realm.

You no longer need to head to the Mortal Realm on her behalf.

I'm sorry.

I broke my promise.

I missed out on your "Tale of The Genesis Hero".

Are you willing

to perform it again

in Yanxu Heavenly Palace for me?

This time,

I will never miss out on it again.

Your Majesty, it's fine.

It's already over.

There's no need to make it up to me.

I still have to collect the celestial dew.

I shall take my leave.

Lu Ming,

have you ever experienced this kind of feeling?

It's as if someone is staying inside your heart,

your brain is full of him,

and you can never get rid of him.

There's no way for you to forget that person.

It's such an annoying feeling.

Forget it. I'm sure you haven't experienced it before.

If you insist on drowning yourself in sorrow,

I shall

drink together with you today.

We shall drink until we drop.

I've already tried my best to avoid seeing him.

But I saw him again at the Jade Pool today.

He kept telling me about what happened in The Land Under The Horizon.

I assume he's happy that Zhi Xi

is his benefactor.

I finally understand

why the Heavenly Realm forbids us from falling in love.

It's excruciating.

It's worse than being struck by the heavenly thunder.

Lu Ming, I feel terrible.

I feel so terrible. Can you understand how I feel?

If so, would you be willing to consume the Love-Forgetting Potion

if I made one for you?

I don't want that.

I would rather remember him

than to relieve myself from the suffering.

The times we spent in the Land Under The Horizon were too good to be true.

I missed them.

You'll suffer from a breakdown if you keep on being like this.

Actually, sometimes,

we can let ourselves go wild.

At least you can follow your inner voice

and have another dream you desire.

Have another dream?

(Yan Dan, )

(I can't just do nothing about it while you keep being like this.)

(If you keep falling prey to the evil power of love, )

(you'll die eventually.)

(I knew it was you even if)

(you had assumed Zhi Xi's form.)

(Yan Dan, I'm sorry.)

(I have no choice but to deny you)

(to ensure your safety.)

Your Supreme Majesty,

Your Majesty,

I've gotten to the bottom of it.

Curator Ying Deng was struck with the Lotus Poison around midnight.

According to the heavenly physician,

although the Four-Leaf Lotus can cure all diseases,

a lethal poison can be created if you mix its roots

with cinnabar.

I've been serving the Heavenly Court for a millennium,

and I've never slacked off.

But now, a crook is trying to harm me.

Your Supreme Majesty, please uphold justice for me.

Curator, do not worry.

There are only two Four-Leaf Lotuses in the Heavenly Court.

Both of them are in Yanxu Heavenly Palace.

I've already sent my men to bring them here.

I believe Lord Ying Yuan is a just and fair person.

He'll definitely get to the bottom of this and uphold justice for you.

Your Supreme Majesty,

the lotus sisters have a kind nature.

I believe they won't try to harm others on purpose.

My artifact spirit is seriously damaged.

I'm afraid I would've been dead

if the poison was discovered any later.

His Majesty is a kind person.

Naturally, he won't suspect the people around him.

However, we should never judge a book by its cover.

I assume

the two sisters hate me because I punished Zhi Xi

after she stole an artifact.

And, they're protected by His Majesty as well.

That's why they're daring enough to poison me.

- Greetings, Your Supreme Majesty. - Greetings, Your Supreme Majesty.

- Your Majesty. - Your Majesty.

I have something to ask both of you.

Where were you two

during midnight

last night?

And what were you guys up to?

His Majesty was plagued by nightmares lately.

That's why I brought As You Can Wish to him

and spent the night in his room.

If so, Fairy Yan Dan must be the culprit.

You're the only Four-Leaf Lotus around besides her.

You're so vicious.

How dare you try to poison me

just because I punished your sister?

Poison you?

I was struck with the Lotus Poison,

and I almost died from it.

Just now, His Majesty had ordered an investigation

to be carried out.

I didn't poison you.

If so, tell me where you were last night.

Curator, now that you're standing here,

I assume your life is not in danger.

The poison isn't that lethal.

- So... - Now,

Yan Dan is daring enough to poison a curator like me.

Who knows who she'll try to hurt in the future?

We must never spare

a vicious person like her.

Zhi Xi, Yan Dan is different from you.

Her lotus heart is still intact.

She won't die from some heavenly punishments.

You shouldn't be lenient to her just because she's your sister.

I cannot find any evidence to prove my innocence for now.

However, I didn't poison her.

What does the attendant shift schedule

say about her action?

According to last night's schedule,

Fairy Yan Dan did leave the palace at midnight.

However, she came back within two hours.

Now that the truth has been revealed,

Your Supreme Majesty, Your Majesty,

please punish her to serve as an example.

Yan Dan is my sister.

I know her personality better than anyone else.

Although she's mischievous,

she's a kind person.

I'm sure this is a misunderstanding.

Yan Dan will never try to poison or harm anyone.

Your Supreme Majesty, Your Majesty, please investigate the case.

Enough.

Stop speaking up for her.

We have ironclad evidence of her crime.

Yan Dan is the only culprit here.

Lord Ying Yuan,

she's from Yanxu Heavenly Palace.

You shall decide how to deal with her.

However, since she harbors evil intentions,

you must never keep her in your palace.

Your Majesty,

you don't believe me as well?

Your Majesty, don't tell me you're trying to defend this wretch?

She's just a lowly attendant,

yet she's this important to Your Majesty?

If news of this gets out,

I'm afraid people will slander you for practicing favoritism.

Ying Yuan,

as one of the sovereign lords,

you should serve as an example.

I hope you won't practice favoritism

and give the curator and the Heavenly Realm an explanation.

Do not disappoint me.

I have never

committed such deed.

How dare you poison a celestial official?

You will receive the punishment of heavenly fire.

Send Yan Dan to the Heavenly Prison.

I will send her to the Heavenly Gallows personally

after three days.

In the future,

I hope you can clear your mind of evil intentions

and stop harming people.

Your Majesty, please think twice!

Yan Dan is innocent!

- Take her away. - Yes, Your Majesty.
