[Lie to Love]

[Episode 7]

How well do you know Zeliang?

Director Shi, if I don't, I don't think we will be together.

Since Zeliang chose to make your relationship public, I'll wish you well.

But I heard about you two.

You met two years ago.

You lost touch with each other in between.

Yes, but fate still let us be together.

So my question is, do you know the "Li Zeliang" now?

You seem to be concerned about Zeliang.

Of course.

After all, we've been friends for a long time.

Was he the real reason you fired me?

I'll be frank. We're women.

I could feel you had a purpose

from the moment you joined the company to approach Zeliang.

I dislike opportunistic people with self-interest.

I don't know why you split two years ago.

I only hope, since you're with him, you must love all of him.

Don't hurt him the second time.

Sure. Thank you for the advice.

I can do it.

Good.

Director Shi, do I apply for leave from you in the future or...?

What's wrong?

Toothache.

It happens from time to time. I want to collect my prescription.

You're working for Director Li now. You can just talk to him directly.

Thank you, Director Shi.

Director Chen!

Boss Qin!

It’s hard to meet you.

Come on. Let's have a seat. Have some tea.

Good things take time.

Selling works of art isn't like other ordinary businesses.

We mustn't rush it.

Boss Qin, I know your concerns.

Boss Chen, who used to work with us, has migrated.

That's why he recommended me to you.

We have worked with Boss Chen for quite a long time.

He's also an old friend of yours. What else do you have to worry about?

In fact, we're not in a rush either.

But the hotel has started operating.

We have also received the budget from the group.

I just think if we can cut this deal earlier,

you can feel relieved earlier when the deal is set in place.

All right.

Same rules, then.

Twenty percent of the deal will go into your designated account.

Boss Qin, you're indeed a man of your word.

But let me be straight with you.

I may seek profits.

But you and I know the quality of these paintings.

The quotation for the works is outrageous.

Aren't you afraid of the risk?

These are works of art.

You get it. There's a way of going around the quotation.

It's not the first time we're doing this, anyway.

So please rest assured.

So is the rebate negotiable?

To be honest, I'm only acting under orders.

I hope you won't make it difficult for me.

You're an important client.

But I request a lump sum payment.

No problem.

But,

for my cut...

Have some tea.

- I have another request. - Please tell.

I want to meet your superior because I need to know

your financial capacity is guaranteed.

We may have been keeping in touch for two months and have built up some trust.

But after all, it's our first time working together.

If we don't meet even once,

how are we going to talk about long-term cooperation?

All right.

I'll relay your request to my boss.

Great! I look forward to working with you.

Same here.

[Pinxuan Art Gallery]

[Pinxuan Art Gallery]

Hello, miss. Please show me your membership card or tell me your mobile number.

I'll register for you.

It's my first time here.

Let me show you around, then.

- This way, please. - Okay.

Over here, we have Gade's paintings.

His forte is landscape painting

and he is the most outstanding young painter in recent years.

By the way, is your boss' surname Qin?

Do you know our boss?

Is he here now?

I'm sorry.

Our boss doesn't receive random guests.

- Unless... - Unless what?

Unless you become our Gold Member.

Only then will our boss provide you with exclusive services.

What are the terms to be a member?

A single purchase of one million yuan.

This one. This, this, this, and that one.

I want all of these. Are these enough?

Yes, it's enough.

What's your payment method?

Pack these up for me first.

I'll get Li Zeliang of Ocean Hotel Corporation to pay for these.

I'm sorry. It's against our policy.

Excuse me.

- Boss. - Hello there.

I'm the owner of this gallery.

- Boss Qin? - Yes, I am.

I heard what you said just now.

May I know who you are to Mr. Li of Ocean Hotel Corporation?

Zeliang is my boyfriend.

My name is Su Xieyi.

Miss Su, how about we go to my office?

We'll chat while having tea.

- Sure. - All right. This way, please.

Qin only wants to increase the price after beating around the bush.

But I rejected him.

If he's only greedy for money, there's nothing to worry about.

You're right.

The cut from the rebate remains the same as discussed. There are no changes. [Chen Hengsheng]

Get it done quickly, then.

No problem.

Also, he has another request. He wants to meet you in person.

He seems to doubt our ability to pay.

But I think his request is common since it's a huge amount.

He's pretty cautious.

I'll let you know.

Got it.

Why? Is he scared it's a trap after giving him so much benefit?

It's not wrong for him to be cautious.

After all, this deal concerns a huge amount of money.

[Lin Tai]

- Chairman Huo. - What's wrong?

Su Xieyi is odd.

She dressed up differently and went to an art gallery.

Which art gallery?

Pinxuan Art Gallery.

Okay. Keep an eye on her.

Okay.

Su Xieyi also went to that art gallery?

It can't be a coincidence.

Hello? I want you to contact Boss Qin now

and tell him I'm going to see him now.

Have a seat, Miss Su.

Have some tea.

Boss Qin, this art gallery has been around for years, right?

More than ten years.

Miss Su, is there a reason you want to see me today?

Of course, it's to make a deal with you.

A deal? Okay.

Please tell me.

This deal is related to the previous client who was here.

I'm sure you know the reason I'm here.

Do you mean Chen Hengsheng?

That's right.

You should know he's not the person in charge.

He was only running errands.

Are you saying Chen Hengsheng

is working for you?

It looks like he did a good job at being discreet.

This is the reason I've been keeping him.

I would never have thought

that the person who planned such a huge deal is such

a young woman who's also the girlfriend of Li Zeliang

from Ocean Hotel Corporation.

Let's cut to the chase.

What were the conditions he laid?

Miss Su, before I answer your question,

shouldn't you answer my questions first?

Why? You don't believe me?

Of course I do.

I'm only curious.

It's a huge deal.

Does your boyfriend, Li Zeliang, know about this?

Why didn't he come with you?

Are you worried about my financial capacity?

It seems that you don't know much about my relationship with Zeliang.

You only need to simply ask to know how conspicuous

is his love affection for me.

I've heard of his show of affection at the cocktail party.

Let me put it this way.

If I wanted to pick a star, he would never pick the moon.

I'll be honest. He has proposed to me.

So I'm not only his girlfriend.

To be exact, I'm his fiancée.

So, do you still doubt my financial capacity?

You're a smart person. There's no need to go against money.

You never showed up before.

Why do you want to see me out of a sudden?

Honestly, Chen Hengsheng has been dealing with you.

I don't know if anything fishy in this deal.

So It has always been my concern about the terms he laid out to you.

Are you scared that he's benefiting from both sides?

Of course, I trust him.

But what if?

So can you now tell me the terms Chen Hengsheng promised you?

Of course.

Speaking of the devil.

Hello, Manager Chen.

Boss Qin, it's me.

I've told my boss of your request.

That's great.

My boss is thrilled.

He should be there now.

All right.

Miss Su, you know how it works in business.

In our first meeting, we only have tea.

As for cooperation, we'll discuss it next time.

Okay.

But I hope you can keep my identity a secret.

And please don't tell anyone that I was here.

Of course. That includes Chen Hengsheng.

I'll excuse myself, then. Okay.

I won't be seeing you off.

I didn't know you were in the mood to enjoy paintings here.

You're here too, Chairman Huo.

I was passing by, so I dropped by.

Is that so?

As far as I am concerned, this is a member-only art gallery.

You drop by just because you passed by.

Even the owner received you in person.

That doesn't make sense at all.

Besides, I'm curious

what were you and the owner talking about in the office.

Uncle?

You're here too?

Zeliang, you're here too.

Yes.

Didn't you say to come together?

Why did you come here by yourself?

I did say that. I was afraid you would be busy, so I came here first.

Naughty.

I'm not.

Well, here is the thing.

Xieyi saw a painting in this gallery that she really likes on the internet.

She keeps on telling me to buy it for her.

I didn't expect you to remember what I said casually.

So are you going to buy it for me?

As long as you like it.

Mr. Li is such a great guy.

Miss Su said you'll buy anything she likes.

So it's true.

Miss Su, you're lucky to have such a doting boyfriend.

Of course.

You see, Miss Su chose seven paintings.

All of them are fine works of art.

It costs a total of 10,150,000 yuan.

Didn't you say only one painting?

Director Li, so...?

Zeliang, it's my first time here.

So I chose a few.

You don't have to buy them.

Moreover, your uncle is also here today.

Let's not make your uncle think that you have a girlfriend who only knows how to spend money.

How about this?

Later, I'll pick the best painting.

All right.

It's okay, Xieyi. I'll buy whatever you want.

Let's go to the mall later.

Let's check out real estate.

Aren't you Chairman Huo and Director Li?

I've heard so much about you.

Let me introduce myself. I'm the owner of this art gallery, my surname is Qin.

- Hello, Boss Qin. - Hello.

Boss Qin, I need to speak to Director Li in private.

- Do you have any... - Yes, we do.

Let's head to my office on the second floor. It's quieter there.

Okay.

Yi Fei, keep Miss Su company and pick a good painting.

Okay.

Let's go, Zeliang.

Go ahead. I'll go to you once I'm done picking.

All right. Pick any paintings that you like.

Yi Fei, take good care of her.

Let's go, Uncle.

This way, please.

Are you here to buy a painting for Miss Su?

Yes, Uncle.

In that case, you already know which painting she likes

before she comes here, right?

Is there any problem with that?

Let's play a game. Let's guess

which painting she'll buy in the end.

If you guess it right, this painting will be a gift from me to both of you.

If you want to give a gift, no need to go through the trouble.

It doesn't matter what you give, Xieyi and I will like it.

No, no, no.

The gift itself doesn't matter.

What matters is the interesting process.

I'll be honest with you.

Before we came here, Xieyi already told me

that you'd ask me to guess which painting she'd buy.

The guessing game is no longer interesting anymore.

Why are you hesitating, then?

All right, then.

It's the fifth painting from the left.

All right. We shall see.

- This one... - All right.

I'll wrap it up for you.

I don't really like it.

Su Xieyi, have you forgotten about the tree?

I'll take this one. All right.

Thank you for your gift.

I care about you. So it's only natural.

I won't disturb you enjoying the paintings, then.

I'll get going now.

It's such a pity. I was so close.

I almost got Boss Qin to reveal it.

It must be the call he answered that ruined my plan.

Enough!

What did you promise me last night?

What's wrong?

I told you I'd continue investigating it.

You can investigate.

But you would have been exposed if I didn't show up today, do you know that?

I didn't know I'd run into Huo Jian here today.

Or was he the person who talked to Chen Hengsheng yesterday?

So do you know

that it's not a coincidence he showed up there now?

He most probably went to the art gallery to confirm

whether you were the one who heard their conversation last night.

So do you think our act can deceive him?

I don't know.

Let's get in the car first.

Chen Hengsheng said you wanted to see me.

It shows you have doubts about our cooperation.

Chairman Huo, what other doubts would I have now that you're already here in person?

Good. Since you have no doubts,

I have a question, which I hope you can answer truthfully.

Sure, I'll tell you what I know.

Boss Qin, do you know Miss Su?

[Incoming call]

If it's inconvenient for you to answer because of me, you can stop by the roadside.

I'll answer it.

Is it convenient to talk?

Yes.

Is Su Xieyi really your girlfriend?

Yes.

Why is she interfering in Chen Hengsheng’s affair?

It's a long story.

I'll tell you about it next time.

Huo Jian asked me...

Do you know Miss Su?

No, I don't.

- It's my first time meeting her. - Isn't it against your policy

for you to receive her in person when it's her first time here?

She said she's Li Zeliang's girlfriend.

That's why I invited her to the office.

Chen Hengsheng has been keeping your identity a secret.

I thought the person behind Chen Hengsheng was her.

Don't you think you're being too careless?

Then, did you tell her about our deals?

Here.

Of course not.

Before anything else, I asked her purpose here.

Then why did she want to see you?

To buy paintings.

She said she saw a painting from my gallery on the internet.

She likes it very much and wanted to buy it.

Boss Qin, our deal costs billions.

I hope you're not lying to me.

Chairman Huo, you know we're dealing with a huge business.

So there's no reason for me to lie to you.

I can't give up something big over something small.

Am I right?

Boss Qin, you're something.

So about our contract...

Wait for my news.

All right, I got it.

In order to find out Huo Jian has been secretly using art purchases to seize Ocean's assets,

we've set this up for half a year already.

It wasn't easy to gain Chen Hengsheng’s trust and meet Huo Jian.

It's the most critical time now.

There's must be no mistake.

I know. In fact, for Xieyi coming to you today

has both disadvantages and advantages.

How so?

Huo Jian has been suspecting Su Xieyi.

He was worried that Xieyi would investigate the matter at the gallery

because she overheard their conversation.

He must have imagined a lot of things

when he ran into Xieyi at the gallery today.

But he would never imagine that you're on my side.

So he'll contact you again.

Okay.

Remember to tell me in advance the next time.

Okay. Bye-bye.

No wonder when I told you about this, you told me not to get involved.

Why are you doing this?

What do you think?

Find evidence against Huo Jian to take him down

and take charge of Ocean again.

What are the odds of this happening?

There's one thing that's more suspicious.

What do you mean?

When I was accompanying her picking the paintings...

This one, then.

Do you like this painting?

Not bad. It looks pretty.

If I didn't see it wrongly, it should be a voice recorder.

Also, she should be the one who eavesdropped during Hengye's cocktail party.

I fear she may have recorded the conversation that day.

I don't care if she did.

We must destroy it after we make sure.

Okay.

[Carpentry]

Thank you for taking me home.

I'm sorry about today.

I hope it won't happen again.

Don't worry. It won't.

Chairman Huo, I didn't find any voice recorder.

But there are some audio files on the laptop.

Stop right there.

Give me the voice recorder.

[Xieyi]

Who are you calling?

Are you trying to call the police?

Let me go!

Give it to me!

Hand it over! Give it to me!

Xieyi!

Xieyi, are you okay?

Xieyi!

Xieyi!

Xieyi!

Trying to be a hero?

After leaving Ocean, you're just a piece of trash!

Trash!

You wanted to push me to my death, right?

Come on.

Come on, then!

Xieyi.

Xieyi.

[In-patient Department]

You're up.

I'll leave the medicine here. Remember to take it, okay?

Where's the person who sent me here?

Your friend is in Room 603.

- What happened to him? - He's injured and taking his rest now.

Remember to take your medicine later, okay?

Good, then.

But why was Lin Tai looking for that?

Could Huo Jian order him to do it?

I suspected that too.

But don't try to act tough no matter what you do in the future.

Is this an order of a superior or the concern of a boyfriend?

Is there any difference?

Of course, there's a difference.

My way of repayment will be different.

Even if it's a stranger, I wouldn't just sit back and do nothing.

Moreover,

you're my girlfriend in name.

Come in.

Miss Su, you're here too.

You should get some rest.

I'll stay here to take care of Mr. Li.

I'll stay here tonight.

Why?

Are you his girlfriend, or am I?

Don't worry. I'll take good care of him.

[In-patient Department]

Have you found Secretary Lin?

Not yet. But I'm on a stakeout at the hospital his father is hospitalized.

Even if he's going to flee, he should visit his father, right?

Okay. I understand.

Thank you for your hard work.

Lin Tai, I've overestimated you.

I told you to take care of something.

Forget that you failed at it.

But you almost killed someone.

Yet, you have the nerve to see me.

It was urgent at the time.

I had to do it. She wanted to call the police.

I've told you this is your last chance.

It's too bad you've ruined it.

I'm sorry.

Chairman Huo about the reward you promised me at that time...

My dad is still at the hospital waiting for me to bring the money for his treatment.

Reward?

How about this? I'll play a game with you.

I have darts there.

The percentage of the rewards will be based on how many you can hit.

See? Even God thinks you're a fool

who doesn't deserve a cent.

Chairman Huo, give me one more chance.

I can hit it. Just wait.

How do you expect me to trust you?

Go home!

Huo Jian, if you don't pay me,

I'll tell everyone about all of you!

Do you think I don't know what dirty business you and Chen Hengsheng are up to?

You two work together to resell works of art in the name of the hotel.
