We stopped and debussed
just outside the barrier.

I went on to the right-hand side
of the road,

opposite the Rossville Flats
which were to our left.

As we were going up
the right-hand side,

there was some sort
of commotion on the left,

where we assumed
a contact had taken place.

Then my section commander shouted
that there was a sniper on the barricade.

and I didn't witness the beginning
