She did have the rib fractures.

my first thought too,

but she has lung sliding
on her ultrasound.

a portable chest X-ray.

I called them twice,
they're short-staffed.

But her chest imaging
post-intubation was clear.

- She has no history of asthma.
- And her resistance isn't high.

But her plateau is.

This is ARDS.

Damn, you're right.

Maybe she had an aspiration
event on her way to CT?

Leading to inflammation
and ARDS.

So we start low tidal
volume ventilation.

And we go up on the PEEP now.

But, Billie, this means...

I know. Deep sedation
and paralytics.

We will not be able
to monitor her neuro status.

If we can't get her sats up,

there'll be no neuro status
to monitor.

I just got off the phone with UNOS.

Governor Betz has been moved
to the top of the list

for a heart transplant.
