October 9, 2000,

was the day my son, Johnny,
was born.

Watching Johnny
grow and learn,

seeing the world new
and fresh through his eyes

was a wonderful experience,

but I came to understand

that to raise him
in the best possible way,

Johnny would need a new mother.

For his emotional well-being,
growing up,

I felt that he deserved
to be in a family.

- At the time,
I don't really think

I--I had wishes or--or hopes

for him meeting a new mom.

I was rather content with--
with just him.

Although, I do think his
attention was a bit diverted.

- We're going on
a treasure hunt, Johnny.

You know, he may have,
like, unusual ways

to--to go about it.

all these things for him

and asked him
if he wanted them.

I guess he's too old
for these things now,

because he said no.

He grew up a lot.

He's totally focused
on business,

but that happiness

doesn't seem
to be around anymore.

He's not unhappy.

And he used to be so cute.

He's become so serious.

Where are you right now?

I currently live in India.

I run a start-up here.

I'm quite happy.

- So at present,
we have the original series,

and we have "The Chronicles,"

and you know, way back when,

I also wanted
to write something for--

that Johnny would star in,
so I created

Johnny's in India,
so he couldn't do it.

so I learned a lot
about my character

in real time, on set.

I didn't have a prenup,

'cause at that time,
everything I had was Florida.

The other theme that runs

through "The Dreamcatchers"

is the theme of family
and the family unit.

[gunshots]

Despite the world going to pot

and being
pretty much destroyed,

the family unit holds
together.

non-charming, non-attractive,

not funny, no charisma--
like, none whatsoever,

and then the most preposterous
thing happens to this guy

this event in his life

actually turned him

a manly guy.

thrusts him into this quest.

called Too Bizarre

in Jupiter.

After that,
we went out for five years.

It was always exciting.

It was five years of fun.

No, it wasn't all fun.

I never even worried about it.

Uh, what was fun was fun,

and when it wasn't fun,

I wasn't around.

She always wanted marriage.

It was very important to her.

I'd tell girls right up front

that marriage
isn't in the cards for me.

and keep me as a boyfriend

I have no sympathy for Paul,

because I think he got,
probably, what he deserved.

If you're gonna marry somebody

that you know
for how many months?

How long were they going out?

He'd obviously made a mistake
in his prior marriage.

He's probably gonna have
the same track record as her

as far multiple marriages

and unhappy life.

- Her emotions were focused
on Royce, weren't they?

What was left for me?

This is our forever marriage,

I was wrong about that.

As it turns out,

Audrey's madly in love
with her pimp.

who had dementia.

She was having trouble

And that was a connection.

with two other females,

I would guarantee you
it's the girl whose father

had dementia
that she was helping out.

Out of the blue,

they started praying to Jesus.

that you have bestowed upon us.

- She was kind of
a churchy girl.

I would definitely understand

Diana praying with this girl
if the girl asked her.

She'd do that.
She didn't have many friends.

So it was nice
that she had somebody to see.

that this was not a meeting

and she was obsessed with me
for a long time.

who her friends were.

I wouldn't even remember that.

the guy is full of shit.

That's on the record
from the phone logs.

- You couldn't justify
that many calls to men

and that many calls
to an answering service.

She had secret addresses,

and she had
a whole secret life.

You couldn't justify that.

Let's look at the facts

and the evidence
that I collected

in Cadillac's trash.

Let's look at the reports.

She ended up
at this nightclub behind me.

- At one point,
we heard the gentleman

who we were told was her pimp

speaking with
one of the gentleman.

- With my private eye,
Joyce Foster,

standing three feet away,
somebody comes up to Royce

and says, "How much is she?"

- And he says...
- Uh, you offer her $250

and see if she'll take it.

And the guy goes over to her,

and they talk,
and then they leave.

"Is that a prostitute?"
Come on.

- I've never heard
of this place

nor does it sound like
the kind of place I'd go to.

I don't know.
I certainly wasn't offering up

my girlfriend at the time
to other guys.

That's complete full of shit.

Paul is not crazy.

We're positive
he was Cadillac,

because we had seen
Cadillac before.

We had done
a prior surveillance

where she met up with Cadillac.

We knew it was Cadillac,
because we ran his tag.

So it was Cadillac.

It's the fact that

she didn't let me make
the decision

as to whether I was okay
with her doing that,

because she didn't want
to have a relationship with me

to begin with.

- I've interviewed over 30,000
people in my career.

Diane was very unique.

I'm Jeffrey D'Amore.

I'm a divorce attorney.

I represented the first,
second, and fourth husbands.

Mr. Finkelman was the third
former husband.

These were
in really quick progression,

one after another
after another.

She'd find somebody
who was vulnerable,

who was usually married
or recently divorced

and be everything
they think they want.

Finding the people
who are not 100%

and preying on them

and marry them
and obviously get them

to turn over
all their property,

which she tried to do

with husband number two
and Paul.

Just doing it so frequently
with so many husbands,

and every single guy
that she was with

in between all these cases--

how she found the time.

- She shopped for men
in churches,

educational environments
that she worked in.

When you looked at the records,

you're talking maybe 100 men.

- Living with this person
for two weeks,

living with that person
for three months

and taking whatever she could
on the way out the door.

- On the subject of whether
she was a prostitute or not,

I don't define her
as a prostitute.

She would ask them
to write checks out

to these acronyms that she had,

and I'm sure that
they felt more comfortable

contributing
to a health insurance plan

than they did saying,
"Here's $500.

Have a nice day, and thank you
very much for the afternoon."

- Does she put herself
out there

for financial gain?

Yes.

I don't think she's on
Craigslist, turning tricks.

At the end of the day,

she was receiving income
for intimacy.

The impression we got was

that Cadillac was offering her
for money.

- Now, Paul thought
that Cadillac was her pimp.

But I spoke with Cadillac,

and Cadillac
was just a playboy,

that he loved the sex.

And then we're in South Florida

where swinger groups
is pretty popular.

- I never saw any evidence,
personally,

that she was running
a prostitution ring.

I don't really subscribe

to the whole
"She was a madam" theory,

only because I don't think
she had any time.

She is driving kids
back and forth to school.

She is avoiding
all the husbands.

- I don't think she was running
an escort service.

I define her
as a very unusual female

that took advantage of people

just to get by.

Now, Paul went overboard,

but he was guppy
compared to her.

She was a shark.

She does her best moves

on weak-hearted people.

Paul became obsessed
with whether or not

she was a prostitute or not.

But life is complex.

You know, it's hard to say.

It was more simple
to say she's a prostitute

than it was to face reality.

- She's not just this, like,
stumbling-through.

She's exit-strategy.

And you're just part of the--

one of the, you know, pins

in her bowling game--

to the next pin.

So she's gonna do everything
by the book.

It worked before.

She's gonna do it
just like with Bob.

- And yet,
she's completely demented.

- Right now,
police on Singer Island

are investigating the deaths
of two people

found inside their condo.

- Detectives are trying
to figure out if this case

is a murder-suicide

of Richard and Carmen [bleep].

Police say they found them
during a welfare check

in the condos here
at the Cote d'Azure.

- My naivete, I didn't know
what a welfare check was

until I was already halfway

taking the cop up
to check on 'em,

and I think they drummed it up
pretty quickly

that it was a murder-suicide.

That was pretty much,

for lack of a better term,
cut and dry.

Case closed.

Murder-suicide.

- Do I think
she killed her parents

and made it look like
a murder-suicide?

Absolutely.

Not a doubt in my mind
that she did it.

Not a doubt in my mind.

- A lot of those things
I got from Terri Jay

and her reading
and her tuning into Audrey,

reading her mind

- or subconscious or whatever.
- Yeah.

how she killed her parents?

It feels like a gun to me,

but I don't wanna...

there's so much crime.

Shouldn't you get a gun for--
for you to protect Mommy?"

And then, you know, "Daddy,
where do you keep that gun?"

You know, then she goes,

finds it at 4:00
in the morning,

and she shoots 'em.

- My read on it is
that she killed her parents

because they were gonna cut her
out of the will.

- He was cutting his kids
out of his will.

Plus possibly life insurance.

I'm talking to you
about insurance.

- Well, from
an investigative standpoint,

something that Paul
is not trained in,

you look
at the forensic evidence.

Based on what
the evidence was,

they concluded
it was a murder-suicide.

- I'm on the board
of directors over there.

I was a security director
for a while.

There's no way to get in there

without being spotted
on the camera.

That's how we had it set up
initially.

Some people in our circle
said that Carmen was sick

and that she had cancer

and the type of people
we thought they were,

maybe they just didn't wanna
have to go through that misery

of--of what cancer does
in the long run.

We kind of left it at that,

and that was
the general consensus.

- Oh, God, I'm just getting it.
Ugh.

She actually drugged
what they were drinking

till they were both passed out

and then put the gun
in one hand

and put the gun
in her father's hand first

and made it like
he pulled the trigger

on her mother
