So, if you could just start

by giving me a brief rundown
of what happened?

I remember the first time I walked
into the courtroom for the case,

and I saw Sinaga sat

between two security officers
in the dock.

And I thought, "That can't be him.

I must be in the wrong trial".

I just couldn't stop looking at him.

We were notified in this office
in June 2017,

that Sinaga had been arrested.

And really the case
began to build from that moment.

He looked studious.

He looked clever.

And most of all, he looked harmless,
completely harmless.

And I guess that's the thing
that makes him most dangerous,

it's how harmless he actually looks.

It was something
that happened so local to us,

so close to us.

These were bars
that we'd been out in.

These were streets
that we've walked.

A serial rapist
is starting a life sentence tonight.

Stalking the streets of Manchester,

he preyed on vulnerable
often drunk men.

It was in this area of Manchester

that Reynhard Sinaga
targeted his victims.

Night after night,
Sinaga would leave

his Manchester flat
to go and find victims.

Reynhard Sinaga came to the UK
in 2007 on a student visa.

The judge describes Sinaga
as a monster.

This is an absolutely
unprecedented case.

He poses a Good Samaritan,
offering help.

Police found mobile phones
and watches kept as mementos.

It has been devastating
for them.

Reynhard Sinaga
is a deprived individual.

Reynhard Tambos Maruli Tua Sinaga.

As someone who've thought
about taking their own lives.

They found
hundreds of hours of video.

On one occasion, it took him
just 60 seconds to pick up a victim.

A 10-year campaign
of violence, sexual crime.

Taunting Central Manchester at night
from the shadows.

This is a case
which begs some terrible questions.

All of which has helped it
to go on for so long

without having been uncovered.

What makes Manchester a great city
is that it's vibrant.

It's a fun place
to go out for a night out.

It's welcoming, it's accepting.

We help each other and we're proud
here to be Mancunians.

Part of the reason
Sinaga loved Manchester

is that he could be himself,
he could kind of express himself.

He said this to his ex-boyfriend
who I interviewed.

He said Sinaga told him he
didn't like growing up in Indonesia

because he couldn't express
who he was.

That's why he moved to Manchester
and he just loved it.

He could be who he was.

He could be openly gay,
could enjoy nights out.

He could grow his hair long,
he could wear what he wanted, and...

And he, you know, he didn't like
going back to Indonesia.

Every time he had to go back,
he would cut his hair short.

He didn't seem to have
a great relationship with his father

according to his ex-boyfriend
that we spoke to.

He was probably coming to terms
with quite a difficult...

Well, it must have been
a difficult upbringing

for, you know, a young man
coming to terms

with his sexuality in Indonesia
to a strict Christian family.

When he got to Manchester,
of course, he absolutely loved it,

especially the four bars and clubs
where it happened.

So this is Factory nightclub,

which is a really popular club
for students

and in this area actually
on the whole

and is quite popular with students
and the universities,

just kind
of a ten minutes' walk away.

And then down here,
just the base of the next building

is where Sinaga lived,

and here is the entrance
to his apartment.

And sometimes, the queue
from Factory nightclub is so long,

it pretty much
went under his window.

We could see people in the queue
from his window,

but this just shows this is the area
where lots of students go out.

So it's kind of, you know,
lots of opportunities for him

to take advantage of people.

The four bars and clubs
where it happened

are all incredibly popular,
busy parts of the city centre.

And everyone know now
what happened there.

That night basically we started off,

met at a friend's house
about ten or after, maybe earlier.

I had a few drinks there.

I think two or three drinks
of Budweiser before going out.

Then I went across to Factory.

In this bar, I think I got
a couple more double vodka lemonade.

Quite a few more drinks.

It's quite,
quiet-ish at this point still.

I see my friends went to the Tyler.
They go and I just wave.

I lost them, so I go outside
for a bit to cool down.

There it's easy to phone them,
when I'm outside.

Once outside,
I weren't able to contact them

because obviously
they're inside a club.

Music's loud, you know,
nobody hears a phone vibrating.

I just wait outside
for another 15, 20 minutes.

Outside I sat on a step on the side.

And I see this buddy walking past.

He catches my eye,

and he starts walking over to me.

He comes, sits next to me,

starts talking
about general studies,

about his school,
how his college is going.

He's just like a normal student,
so I thought.

Simulates to me
a very friendly and open...

I had nothing to worry about,
I thought.

I thought he's just a student
looking after another student.

He offered me to go back to his
to keep warm,

"while you wait
for your friends contact you."

It's probably about one o'clock,
so it is quite cold outside.

I walked back with him

past the club
and then into his flat.

He offered me a few drinks,
a few shots,

because we were still drinking
at this point.

And I thought nothing at this point,
nothing really to worry about.

He's just a normal guy who's
asking me to stay inside, keep warm.

In Sinaga's flat,
there was a sort of cocktail table

full of various spirits and mixers,

which is where he would have got
the drinks

for the guys
who came back to his flat.

As he brought the drinks,
I went to the toilet.

I came back, shots were poured

and then I ended up
taking the two shots.

So it's okay, right, ready.
What a fireball it was!

Tasted fine, it was normal.

There was a white, clear drink,
like a Sambuca or vodka.

As soon as I had that one,
my head was all over the place.

I felt like it was gonna fall.

I started tumbling to the bathroom.

At that point,
I tried to call my friends.

I texted them, I wanted to say,
"This is where I am."

He stops me,
basically grabs my hands

to stop me from phoning them.

He says, "I know
what you're about to say."

You need to relax, you need to rest.

And at that point,
he took my phone off me.

For the next five hours or so,

I don't remember anything.

There was a search for a drug
that we believe Sinaga used.

But surprisingly,
there was no trace of that.

And so one can only assume
that Sinaga's been meticulous

in disposing of anything
that might link him physically

to the use of that drug.

GHB, the date rape drug,
is also very easy to make.

Date rape drugs,
as they're often called,

are usually odourless,
tasteless, colourless.

It can make someone incapacitated

and absolutely have no memory
of what happened.

Symptoms of drugging
include loss of muscle control,

problems talking, problems seeing,
even stomach problems.

GHB is out there and being used
to sexually assaulted young girls.

You would typically expect
the effects of GHB

to come on within around
about 15 to 20 minutes.

If somebody was to invite somebody
back to the house

and offer him a drink
then the amount is so small

it's easy just to drop that

into any kind of soft drink
or alcoholic drink,

and to not really kind of realise
that you're taking anything.

Again there's that risk of overdose

and become unconscious,
kind of a bit of induced coma.

And because of people
kind of lose their consciousness

or they have memory loss,

it's really difficult
for people to remember.

I woke up
with my face down on the pillow

with my jeans and pants down,
by my knee area.

I was on the floor on that quilt.

Next to me
is a cupboard and a drawer.

If you walk into the door,
would be in the far right corner.

And my head slides aside.

I turned around
and I saw he was on top of me.

I was really disorientated,
I didn't really know where I was.

I've just woken up from being
drugged for five hours or so,

so I didn't have any recollection
of where I actually was.

As soon as he realised
that I was up,

he's actually
trying to pull me down.

He was pulling my T-shirts
to keep me basically in his room.

I was scared
and didn't know what to do.

I was so disorientated,

all the adrenaline
was pumping freely.

This guy is biting me, hitting me,

trying to stop me
from leaving the apartment.

I hit him finally and I go then.

Once I basically leave that room
to escape his apartment,

he takes me again there.

He just runs and headbutts me

and I basically throw him
over the top of me

I hit him trying to get him
to let go of me.

Finally, he lets go of me
and that's when I come out the door.

Once I escaped the apartment,
I ran out of the fire exit.

I see some person
walking across the road.

I basically went over to him,
asked him to use his phone,

so I can phone my mum.

He's very worried.

He doesn't want
to give me his phone

because I'm covered
in mine and Sinaga's blood.

But after a bit,
I plead and he gives me his phone

and lets me phone the police.

Sinaga was taken out of his flat
in Montana house on a stretcher.

They told me to go alongside
to the police station

and they took him to the hospital.

He was in high intensive care
for a few days.

The lad beat him up so badly

that paramedics initially believed
he had bleed on the brain.

And the victim of the sexual assault
was actually arrested himself

for assaulting Sinaga.

I was questioned as the perpetrator.

I was the one who beat this man up

and the police said that I basically
chose to meet this guy

and then something
went wrong so I beat him up.

So for the full weekend,
he was the victim,

I was the perpetrator.

Whilst in hospital,

the suspicions began to build up
in the police's mind

that he was just too keen
to get his phones back.

He was extremely agitated
and persistent

in wanting to recover his phones.

Because the guy
who'd been arrested for assault,

had told the police,
"No, I'm the victim of rape.

I'm the victim of a sexual assault.

You need to be arresting
the guy in hospital."

So they smelt something fishy.

The flat was searched.

Material was seized.

And when police
finally looked at Sinaga's phone,

that's when police began to unravel

this huge ordeal of rape.

They found...

Well, just...

A huge collection of footage
that Sinaga had filmed.

This really harrowing footage
of him attacking

not just one man, not just two men,

not three men but, but dozens

being raped, and raped, and raped,

and sexually abused
over and over again over years.

They found the evidence,
and now they're at ease.

They're at the hospital bed
with police around him.

And that's when Sinaga
was arrested.

There were something like
3.2 terabytes of data

that were found
on two mobile phones,

several hard drives, laptops,

footage that he'd shot himself

from two vantage points
on two iPhones.

It would be enough
to fill 330 DVDs.

So we're talking an absolute
monster's pile of recordings.

There were quite graphic
and close-up images

of the acts
that we included on the indictment.

He did do close-ups.

He did do more distance shots,
if I can describe them that way,

and they were across the two phones.

And he seemed
to get particular delight

in filming what had happened,

and one presumes in watching them
over and over again thereafter.

Let's just say, pretty unpleasant
viewing for most people.

There were repeated attacks
on individuals throughout the night

with them obviously drugged
throughout the ordeal.

One particularly striking occasion
was when there were two males

in different rooms in the flat,

both of whom
had been lured there by Sinaga

and given the lethal cocktail
that knocked them out

to make them absolutely resistless
against what he was about to do.

So again, that was a shock,
when we found that out,

in terms of the prosecutors,
experienced prosecutors,

dealing with sexual offences
day in day out.

Even for them, this was something,
you know, off the scale.

So there's a real intrigue

about serial killers
and mass rapists.

But I don't think anyone's
ever seen or...

I don't think anyone
could really conceive

of someone perpetrating
200 rapes and sexual assaults

in the way that Reynhard Sinaga did.

It was quite prolific.

So the oldest victim
was 36 years of age

and the youngest was just 17.

All male, just like that.

In the main, the same modus operandi

striking late at night,
in the vicinity of his flat,

quite near to the hotels, bars,

various other sort
of recreational establishments,

if I can call them that,
in the middle of town.

He targeted mostly heterosexual men,

when they were kind of drunk
and waiting for buses or taxis home.

He preyed on them

by kind of offering them
somewhere to stay

while they kind of sobered up.

He'd help people
who lost their wallets,

he'd help people
whose phone's needed charging.

Any excuse really
to get them back to his flat.

Once there, almost every time,

play the Good Samaritan,
offer them a drink.

And drugged them, we think,
with GHB and raped them.

One of the most surprising to many
people things about this case

was that many of the victims

didn't remember
what happened to them.

It's unfathomable, almost.

It's really difficult
to comprehend for people.

We see stuff on the news.

You watch television programs,
almost nightly,

where there's a murder
or there's a serious rape

or sexual assault.

But when you're talking
about nearly 200 victims by one man,

that's on a different scale.

I've been prosecuting 30 years

and I've never come across
a case like it.

Sinaga is probably...

Britain's, if not the world's,
most prolific rapist certainly

that's ever come before a court.

More men were attacked by Sinaga

than any other known perpetrator
of rape or sexual abuse

in Britain, in Europe,
perhaps even the world.

That's how big this was.

It hits you, it grabs you
because you think,

"it could happen to me."

We all walk home in the dark.

We all walk to work in the dark.

It could happen to anyone.

It's quite surreal and, like,
I'd say a bit more wary the place.

I still came for nights out
after it many time.

So that's not the issue.

I'm a bit more wary of this area
because of the whole incident.

I started wandering.
I didn't realise how far I'd walked.

Literally, within this area here,
is where I was at.

Basically, where these double lines
are on the corners.

In all the accounts you see,
he was very friendly,

he was very open,
he was very welcoming.

So you didn't feel
intimidated by him.

He didn't have the aura of like...

You don't need to be wary of him.

He used it
as a way to get to you.

So this is the main centre
of the client area.

This whole space opens up,

and this is a joint group space

where some of the men who were
involved with the Sinaga case,

some of the men come here,
come into this drop in space.

Some of these rooms
are where the men come for therapy.

This has to be a safe and welcoming
space for all survivors,

those that have been directly
involved with the Sinaga case

and those that have been impacted
by the Sinaga case too.

I received a phone call

from a detective chief inspector

to ask me if I would go over
to the police headquarters

to have a conversation
about an emerging case.

Nobody at the time knew
how big this case was going to be.

I think he was one of the...

I think he was
one of the crown prosecutors

that had said, "We think
this might be the biggest rape case

in British legal history."

It has that... moment.

It has that gasp of breath moment.

I don't think there's ever been
a more prolific rapist

before a court
anywhere as far as we can establish.

When the flat was searched,
a small collection of items

taken from victims by Sinaga
were found.

Business cards,
credit cards were some of them.

They found certain items

in either Sinaga's phone memory
or his flat.

Like wallets, IDs, passports,

watches, or pictures of them,

screen grabs
of their Facebook accounts.

When they looked at his phone,

there was some contact details

of some of the victims
contained in there.

Or even smaller things,
belt buckles perhaps,

that were regarded
as souvenirs by Sinaga,

and he kept them
to remember his victims by.

A sort of trophy, really.

And that's how police
began this process

of trying to identify his victims.

Because the victims don't know

or didn't know
until the police told them

that they had been offended against.

And because he hasn't in any way

volunteered information
to the police

we've had to work
with what the phone tells us.

They had certain material
to be able to identify some people.

So the police has to go
to people's houses to identify them.

And yeah, it must be
an incredibly difficult moment

when you get that knock on the door.

And there are several men
who got the knock on the door

from the police
and were told what had happened,

and said to them,
"You must have the wrong guy.

You must be mistaken
because it didn't happen to me.

I would know
if that happened to me."

But they were shown screen grabs
of themselves on Sinaga's phone

and yeah, realised
that actually had happened to them.

So when the story broke, a tweet
actually emerged of two guys,

one of whom was Sinaga
looking quite happy.

And the guy had tweeted in 2016
after staying over at Sinaga's house

to thank him for rescuing him
on a night out,

only when it became clear
in the news

that Sinaga was a rapist
and what his modus operandi was.

And was it clear
he hadn't rescued this guy at all,

he'd raped him
or sexually assaulted him

and that was how
that guy actually found out

that he'd been a victim
and he hadn't been rescued at all.

The conversation then moves
straight into victim care.

And after more deliberation
and conversation,

we collectively decided

that the best people
to support the police in that

were the crisis workers
over at the SARC,

at the Sexual Assault
Referral Centre.

They never wanted me
to actually see the videos,

but they did take screenshots of it
to prove that was me.

It was like a screenshot of me
like almost asleep.

Of me, of my face,
of my t-shirt as well

and the jeans, the trousers
I was wearing that day.

I saw about four or five screenshots
that proved that was me.

It was very, again,
very surreal to see me like that.

It was weird.

I was just part of the case.

I knew I had to deal with it
just to be able to get on with it.

So I did, and then
he could be walking free.

I think we were sat in the office
when we first heard how many victims

there might have been.

Someone said it's around 200.

And we were like,
"No, this can't possibly be,"

because we would have heard of it.

The police would have told us,

so we didn't initially believe it
to be true.

But we walked across the road,

went to Manchester Crown Court,
and the trial was underway.

And I thought,
"I must be in the wrong trial."

I just couldn't stop looking at him.

He was tiny in comparison

to two security officers
he was sat in between.

He had shoulder length hair
and quite trendy glasses.

He had a baggy jumper on.
He was carrying a file.

He looked studious.

He looked clever.

He looked friendly.

He was chatting
with his two security officers.

And most of all, really,
he looked completely harmless.

I guess that's the thing
that makes him most dangerous,

it's how harmless he actually looks,

because that's what fooled
a lot of men into believing

that they could go back to his flat
and they'd be safe there.

It was just incredible,

literally incredible,

because it just didn't seem to fit
the man who was sat in the dock.

And we had the first batch
of 12 victims for the first trial.

All the while, material was
being downloaded from the phones,

more and more victims
were being identified.

There was obviously the challenge

of having to watch
quite disturbing footage,

quite unpleasant footage

from the downloads
from Sinaga's phones.

It was played in court in full.

The Press couldn't see it,
but jurors watched it.

Sinaga himself watched it,
the lawyers watched it.

The judge had our own screen
to watch it on as well.

Some people
tried not to look for too long,

especially at the start
of the trials,

jurors were really uncomfortable

about watching this footage
for too long,

until they realised
that the whole trial essentially

was going to be watching
this footage for hours on end.

He, you know, maintained...

Some of it was
sort of a macabre role-play.

He insisted on maintaining
his "not guilty" plea,

that the victims
had all consented to this activity.

We obviously countered

his suggestion
of this being consensual

by saying, "Well,
look at the videos, Mr. Sinaga.

These people are comatose.

Some of them are snoring
whilst the activity is going on.

Some are vomiting.

Are you really trying to suggest

that these victims
consented to all this?"

I stood facing the jury,
he was to the left of me.

And I get my evidence to the jury.

They'd already seen my videotape
of what happened to me.

So they're basically just crosses
out and leave me at this point.

In the court, he was laughing
and joking with the prison officer

while I was watching him.

He thought he was so important.
It's his day. He was special.

After the end of the first trial,
Sinaga was aware

that he'd been convicted.

After the end of the second trial,
he had been told

he would be serving
at least 15 years.

He insisted on maintaining
his not guilty plea,

even in the fourth trial.

Yeah, he just really seemed
to be enjoying the process

and showing absolutely no remorse
whatsoever during his sentencing,

which is the time when,

if these people
are going to say anything,

before they're taken down
for the next 30 years

and are never seen in public again,

they'll say something,
it's their final chance.

But he said nothing.

He was really blasted
about the whole thing.

The judge
didn't take kindly to that.

I remember she ordered him
to stand up while she addressed him,

while she sentenced him.

He looked straight ahead at her.

His hands were clasped
in front of him like this.

At the end of it, she just looked
really sternly at him and said,

"Take him down, take him away."

And the two dock officers
just let him down,

and he didn't really look
at anyone on his way out.

He just had this sort of thing...
a smile on his face almost.

One can only assume
that he takes some sort of delight,

get some sort of kick
out of watching his victims

have to go through it in court,
give evidence,

describe in detail
what happened to them.

In the same way, presumably,
he derived some sort of satisfaction

from replaying what was on his phone

to watch the acts
over and over again.

Was there ever any sort
of psychological analysis of him?

No, because he won't, he would have
to agree to that sort of analysis,

that sort of assessment in custody.

And to my knowledge,
he's just disengaged entirely

with the authorities

that would do that sort of thing
in our prison service.

So again, he remains

something of a mystery
in that regard.

He was just the ultimate narcissist.

He enjoyed
people speaking about him,

he enjoyed talking about himself,

and even tried to do
a PhD on sort of sexual behaviour

of Southeast Asian men
in Manchester,

which his ex-flatmate said
was basically an autobiography.

He was just a man sort of
totally wrapped up in his own world.

Personally speaking,
I think that we are certainly

on some kind of...

psychopath spectrum,
for want of a better word.

The way that he has conducted
himself in court...

I just think
there's something very...

unnatural
about that kind of behaviour.

The Sinaga case is a prime example
of why rape isn't about sex,

or sexuality or sexual orientation.

It's about power.

He preyed on men
who were heterosexual,

but, as you know, a good-looking guy
in a liberal city,

he could have had
lots of sexual relationships

with consenting men
if he'd have chosen to do so.

But obviously for him
it was about this kind of dominance

over these guys and taking something
that wasn't his.

His modus operandi,
I guess, as an offender

was driven by this kind of power
and control over people, it seems.

Sinaga seemed to get
some perverse satisfaction

of not just himself being able
to watch the footage back,

but all these people
in this courtroom

and the judge herself
being able to watch this footage.

It was like he was enjoying
the spectacle a second time.

And there was some speculation

among members
of the press and lawyers

about whether
he was pleading not guilty,

despite the overwhelming evidence,

just so that he could go to trial,

so that he could then watch
all this footage again.

He never looked lost during my case.

And the judge's last statement
on the last case

was he wanted to take it to court,

he wanted to be
the celebrity almost.

The judge called Reynhard Sinaga
"an evil sexual predator,

who had shown not
a just of remorse."

Being a serial rapist, he's starting
a life sentence tonight

after he was found guilty
of attacking at least 48 men.

In these four criminal trials

that have been going on
over the past two years,

the police suspects there could be
up to 190 victims of Sinaga in total

over a 10-year campaign
of violence, sexual crime

based out of his flat
in central Manchester.

The Judge Suzanne Goddard QC

described Reynhard Sinaga
as a monster,

and looking at him
as he stood in the dock,

she said he seemed
to be enjoying the trial process

even as he was standing
to be sentenced.

And the other thing that we have
just found in the last few minutes

is that the Home Secretary
has ordered the review.

Sinaga will serve
at least 30 years in jail.

Ben Chapman reports.

More and more people
are coming forward

when this sentencing happened

and the story went out
into the public domain.

There is this huge rush of people
to charities

like Survivors Manchester
and Survivors UK saying,

"I think I may have been abused
by this man."

So I think rape, sexual abuse of man

is much more common
than people think,

than kind of what the media
would have us believe.

What gets
into the public consciousness

is just the tip of the iceberg.

These four criminal trials...

When the news broke about Sinaga,
one of his victims' tweet emerged.

And some of the comments
in response to the tweet

were absolutely horrific.

People kind of making fun of him,

homophobic jokes
about sex with a man and so on.

Ridiculing him
as a man who've been raped,

and not taking it seriously at all,

which I think reflects the view
our society to a large extent has

about men being raped

and men kind of been victimised
in that way.

What a lot of men experience
when they speak out about rape

or the way that a man being raped
is kind of the source of ridicule,

rather than treat it as
a very serious, traumatising crime.

Shame and guilt have become
the hallmark of the male survivor,

of the male victim.

And I think that's something
really important

about shame, guilt, vulnerability...

They're not the attributes
of the prince on the horseback.

If we continue
to perpetuate those ideas,

we're never going to allow men
to speak out.

Especially in my situation,
I felt like I was less believed.

I'm not bashing the police.

You could say they even think
it can actually happen,

but it's not true, is it?

If a woman did that,

they would've been praise for saving
themselves while I was arrested.

Many men speak of being strong,

and like a lot of that stigmatises,
but the normal male way is,

"We don't talk," and it's just...

It does happen.

This is probably as common as women,
but no one ever talks about it.

If it was a girl, they were sent her
straight to St. Mary's,

get her checked out,
and then if you are not...

Not the other way round
and wait, two, three days after it.

The drug that he used stays maximum
12 hours to get out of your systems.

It gets out of your system

and you've lost major part
of evidence there.

I wasn't sent to St. Mary's,

I was basically pursued
for 24 hours.

I was the perpetrator
and he was the victim.

Until they found the phone evidence
that proves otherwise.

I'd like to think I will be fine,
I've just tried to get on with it.

I'm alive, if he's away,

I don't need
all the extra stuff after.

We've got to be the change makers.

We've got to make sure
that the future boys

are going to come forward,
because let's be clear,

we are not going to tackle
sexual violence like that.

It just isn't going to happen.

But what we've got to do
is we've got to make sure

that any future survivors,
any future victims,

any future boys that are abused,
any future men that are raped,

we've got to make sure
that they understand

there is support available.

We've got to make sure
that there is support available.

And we've got to make sure
it is as easy as possible

for people to step forward.

So I think no matter what you...

if you think it's happened to you
then you got to come forward.

The stigma of male rape
is very much...

You can't talk about and all.

Men don't talk whereas...
He doesn't, like...

He's eating you up from the inside.

When you can talk
to people about it, it helps you.

There's support in Manchester,
in all the areas,

where you can be supported
and get through it.

I'm just another boy from Manchester
who just wants to live his life.

How likely or how plausible is it

that there are further victims yet
that we don't know about?

I think there are,
there will almost certainly be

further victims
that we don't know of yet.

As I say, we've had
to really just restrict our inquiry

to what Sinaga's phones
have revealed.

There could be phones,
other devices that he's got rid of.

Yeah, there's still people
who don't know.

There will be people who don't know.

And there'll be people
who won't want to know either.

But the police

are still trying to address
as many people as possible.

They'll be looking
at all these souvenirs,

trying to connect them.

There remain
quite a significant number

that despite our best efforts,

have not been able to be identified.

And the police continue to try
to work out who these men are,

but without so much success
as we speak now.

Whether there'll ever be
a final tally

of how many people
he actually attacked,

remains to be seen.

It's really a known...

I think that 200 figure

is from the souvenirs

that police have been able
to trace to people.

So that may, in some ways,
be a conservative figure.

We just don't know.

The only person
who might have any idea

is citing strange words.

And for the time
that he's been in there,

which is more than two years,
in August, being in prison,

he's been refusing
to engage with detectives,

he's been refusing
to engage with psychologists,

he's been refusing
to engage with probation officers.

The only one with the answers
in this is Reynhard Sinaga.

He's the only one who really knows
the extent of what he's done.

I just think
it would be ludicrous to assume

that everybody who has been
directly impacted by Sinaga

has now spoken out.

I think that would be ludicrous,
to assume that.

Even if it's just one person
that hasn't spoken out,

there's still someone out there.

There may also be people out there
who have just no idea what happened.

There'll be people out there
watching this

who have never spoken out,

who are sat there silently,

wondering whether
they should say anything.

There are people
who will be out there

watching this documentary who are...

worried about anybody ever finding
out what happened to them.

I'd always say to everybody,

doesn't matter
whether they have been

directly or indirectly affected
by this particular case.

There are people
who are willing to listen

and there are people
that want to help,

and when you feel ready,

then you should know
that there are people

willing to give you
that right support.
