It's so late. What are you doing?

Drinking before bed can help you sleep, my dear.

Did you hear something?

It's the air-conditioning.

Why would the air-conditioning work when the power is out?

Are there pets in your office?

No.

Linlin.

Ms. Jiang, is there any news about the script I read last time?

I liked that character a lot.

I was just going to talk to you about that.

The Ling Yizhou incident has hit you pretty hard.

Some have terminated contracts, some are wary and ignoring us.

Even though we posted a clarification,

public opinion has affected your image and reputation.

TV shows and movie producers are still waiting to act.

I'm trying to get an advertisement gig for you.

Let's just keep waiting for a bit.

Just be prepared. Don't panic.

I understand.

Even though the Ling Yizhou incident has passed,

the aftermath won't go away that soon.

I think we should take the initiative.

Good opportunities need to be fought.

Of course.

I'm going to meet up with some directors and producers.

I'll ask if they have any characters that fit you

and try to secure those roles.

I also have some ideas about the roles I want to try.

I hope that I can talk to the boss

and see what he thinks.

It's good to have ideas.

I'll arrange a meeting with him this afternoon

-if he's free. -Okay.

You can take that.

Hello?

Hello, is this Ms. Xia?

I'm the producer, Zhang Hong.

Hello, Mr. Zhang.

Can I help you?

-Here's the thing, Xia Lin. -Thank you.

I've always liked your acting.

I think you're a very talented actress.

I know there has been some trouble lately,

-but you've cleared that up. -It's Mr. Zhang.

-Mr. Zhang? -I think

you give people a very positive image.

I have a role that suits you very well.

Maybe we can meet up to talk about it.

When are you free?

Thank you for your kind words, Mr. Zhang.

I'm very interested.

My manager is in charge of my schedule.

-Okay. -She's right here.

Maybe you can talk to her.

How about this?

Let me check my schedule.

I'll call you later.

Thank you.

He hung up.

He said he'll call me after he checks his schedule.

Mr. Zhang? Zhang Hong?

Yes, that's right.

He has a role for me.

I need to tell Ling Yizhou the good news.

You and Ling Yizhou...

We made up.

Xia Lin,

being with him does no good to your career.

You know how bad it was when you were all over the news.

You should think about this carefully.

We know the truth now, don't we?

Ling Yizhou was framed.

Right now, the netizens are on our side.

I won't interfere with your personal life.

Don't let it affect your work.

Ms. Jiang.

I know you really care about my career.

That's why you're always so worried when anything happens to me.

But actually,

I don't want to mix my personal and work life.

I'm sure you know best.

My relationship with Ling Yizhou didn't start from a contract.

When I first met Ling Yizhou, I thought he looked very familiar.

A few days ago, I found out

that two years ago, we met at a masquerade ball.

A masquerade ball?

What happened at the ball?

I remember it so clearly.

There were a lot of people there.

I got bumped and almost fell.

A man in a mask helped me steady myself.

I didn't know who he was.

Then, I found the mask in Ling Yizhou's room.

That's when I realized

that the man that night was Ling Yizhou.

I didn't expect you were fated to meet.

Your love must be destiny.

I want to hold a masquerade ball

to bring back those memories

as a surprise for him.

How lucky he is.

You're probably going to spend a lot of time preparing for it.

That's why I'm telling you in advance.

I'm worried that my schedule might be tight.

But don't worry, I won't let it affect work.

I'll get going now, Ms. Jiang.

Let me know if anything happens.

-Okay. -See you.

Read it and give it back to me.

I can't stay for long.

You're being very cautious this time.

An engagement contract?

This is huge news.

You probably know what to do with it.

I don't have to teach you.

Tonight at nine o'clock.

ALARM

WEIBO

TOP 2: WELL-INTENDED LOVE 2

TOP 1: NUMBER OF SINGLE PEOPLE IN CHINA...

Where's the contract?

Hello.

The number you called is unavailable.

Hello.

The number you...

Mr. Wen, I got the contract.

Yao Liang,

I won't let you suffer for nothing.

I want to hold a masquerade ball

to bring back those memories

as a surprise for Ling Yizhou.

They can't have

what you can't have.

Ms. Jiang, the boss wants to see you.

Jiang Yushi!

How dare you do this to our own artist?

Do you even respect me as your boss?

Pack up your stuff and get out of here.

You're not in charge of Xia Lin anymore.

If you pull any more tricks,

I'll make sure you never get another job!

POPULAR FEMALE ARTIST: XIA LIN

Who would have guessed?

That's right.

Wait.

Check her things.

Ruan Meng, you haven't been posting on Sohu Friends lately.

You've only posted a few times when your new clothes came out.

I haven't seen anything about your daily life.

This isn't good for your brand.

What if you lose your followers?

It's fine.

I've just been busier lately.

I'll post something now.

No worries.

Ruan Meng. Hey!

Hey, what are you looking at?

Hey!

What is it?

I'm taking a photo to post on Sohu Friends.

And over here...

Come here.

Ms. Ruan.

That's my fiancée over there.

We're getting married next month.

We'd be happy to see you there.

I love your business philosophy.

I've always hoped to do my wedding photos

while traveling with my husband.

This way, we can see new places

and create sweet memories together.

When we get back, we'll have beautiful photos too.

The thing is,

you have so many destinations to choose from.

I could do my wedding photoshoots anywhere.

I don't even have to introduce our services.

-You know so much already. -I'm going to take photos over there.

-You can stop by next time. -Wait a moment.

We can adjust the plans according to what you need.

What do you think?

I'm so lucky to meet someone I really connect with.

That's true.

Ruan Meng?

Don't be mad, my dear.

This is...

Hello.

Chu Yan is just on a date with you because he's mad at me.

Don't believe anything he says.

Mr. Chu, this is my fiancé.

Hello.

We'll see you next time at the company.

We'll talk about the details of our trip then.

Okay.

I'll let the two of you spend time together then.

Take care.

-See you. -See you.

They are gone. You can let go now.

Stop.

That lady is my client.

She wants to do a photo shoot with her fiancé.

What are you doing?

I understand now.

I thought you were in trouble like last time.

So I came to help you.

So you do remember the first time we met.

Was that fun for you?

Maybe next time my dad tells me to get married,

I'll ask you to help me again.

-You're pretty good at it. -What?

What? I'm just kidding.

You scared my client away.

You'll need to pay for that.

They are your clients, but I'm your client too.

If you take photos for them, you'll have to take photos for me.

Here.

-Now? -Yes.

Don't forget to pay.

We'll see about that.

The supervisor just asked for you. I'll take care of that.

Okay. Here you go.

Fill it with confetti.

He's always asking for me.

I'm so busy.

Mumu, you...

Is it the same?

This is how it all happened.

Mumu, I've waited two years

for this kiss.

Everyone, we're here today

to celebrate this beautiful couple who met here two years ago.

That's wonderful.

-How great. -Yes.

So sweet.

Ms. Jiang.

I don't think you were on our list of guests, Ms. Jiang.

Your outfit...

I don't know what you mean.

Could you play the security footage from the bar? Thank you.

Watch carefully.

SECOND FLOOR STAIRWELL

Wen Li.

-Did you get the evidence? -Yes.

So you already noticed.

So,

it was you

who swapped the engagement contract?

Xia Lin.

Take a look at how sly this man is.

He broke up with you so that I'll let my guard down.

Then, he investigated me.

He even took advantage of this party you held.

Ms. Jiang,

did you do all those things?

Stop playing dumb.

Ling Yizhou is the murderer who hurts my brother.

Didn't you see that?

He's still in the hospital,

like a living dead man.

You saw all the evidence.

How can you only believe what you want to believe?

Evidence?

Don't be so naive.

Are you talking about the recording?

If he could get someone to take the blame two years ago,

he could easily find someone to make up evidence to escape punishment.

Unfortunately,

he can fool others, but not me.

You can't get revenge on an imaginary foe just because your family member was hurt.

The police already found out the truth.

Stop acting so irrationally.

You and Ling Yizhou held this big party just to frame me?

Did you hire them to put on an act for you?

The party was for Mumu and I.

It wasn't an act.

You're the one with bad intentions, so I had to take precautions.

I didn't tell Mumu

because I didn't want her to be sad.

I didn't want her to know that

her partner, who she trusts the most, has been scheming to hurt her.

You're the murderer!

Yao Liang, where are you going?

I'm going to look for Xia Lin at the bar.

Bar?

Xia Lin?

Hello?

Are you Yao Liang's sister?

If you didn't reject Yao Liang that day,

he wouldn't go looking for you at the bar.

If he didn't witness the two of you meet,

he wouldn't get drunk and get into an accident.

And you?

You don't even know what Yao Liang did for you.

You've just been enjoying your life guilt-free.

Enjoying all the attention and praise.

Enjoying love and everything.

You've been living the life of an innocent person,

but what about him?

He's still in the hospital.

My mom cries every day.

And me?

I had to quit my job and start over.

I had to see the person who caused my family pain every day.

Not just one,

but two.

You became my manager

one year ago,

just so you could avenge your brother?

You ruined his life.

You took everything from him.

Of course I had to do something.

Didn't you want to be a movie star?

Sure.

That's why I helped manage your career

and brought you a lot of attention.

Once you get used to the vanity,

I'll then show you what it feels like to be despised.

I didn't expect

that Ling Yizhou would be able to stop me.

He became your strongest support.

The heavens are just though.

They let me know that Ling Yizhou is the one who harmed my brother.

Why are you still lying to yourself?

You think that you're doing this for Yao Liang.

You've spent an enormous amount of energy

to get your so-called "revenge."

But what has happened to your own life?

You're caught in your own trap.

Mumu, everything is fine now.

Ms. Jiang, we've called the police.

Ling Yizhou, did you know?

When Jiang Yushi first became my manager,

we were both very inexperienced.

But we got things through.

She would go to the film site with me

and stay up through the night with me.

Again and again,

she would get good roles and opportunities for me.

Whenever I had a scandal,

she'd be even more worried than me.

But today, she told me

that she only did all that

to make it hurt more when she pushed me off the top.

I can't believe that

people can be this hard to see through.

Bad people have their own misfortunes.

Even though she only became so extreme

because she was used,

everyone in this world needs to pay for their own actions.

The real perpetrator was found,

but Yao Liang will probably never wake up.

He's the most innocent victim

in this whole event.

Mumu, don't worry.

I've sent some experts to inspect his situation.

They'll see if there are any new treatments to cure him.

Medicine is so advanced nowadays.

He might have a chance to wake up.

Thank you.

You're so kind, Mr. Ling.

That's because I married such a good-looking and kind woman.

I held the party

to give you a surprise.

I didn't expect

that all this would happen.

It's fine.

That's not important.

Meeting you was the best thing that ever happened to me.

I didn't know that

you remembered the night we met two years ago.

That's the biggest surprise.

GANGDONG DETENTION CENTER

Jiang Yushi.

We came here today to talk about your brother.

Stop faking mercy.

Wait.

You can make a decision

after we finish talking.

Sure.

Get to the point then.

Ling Yizhou found the most prestigious brain surgeon in the world

to treat Yao Liang.

The doctor said

that he might be able to wake up.

Why?

Why are you doing this?

Why would you?

Yao Liang and Mumu used to be classmates.

Even though you had an ulterior motive,

you worked very hard to help Mumu build her career.

Mumu wants to help him,

so I'll support her for sure.

We just came to tell you about Yao Liang.

We'll let you know if there's any progress.

Ms. Jiang, think it over.

We'll get going now.

Wait.

It was Fu Weining.

He gave me the information to frame you.

It was Fu Weining.

Thank you.

So Fu Weining is behind everything.

Don't worry about it.

I'll take care of things.

Hello, Wen Li.

Keep an eye on Fu Weining.

Yes, Boss.

Hello, Boss.

I went to his house and law firm.

The places he frequents are being watched.

But we haven't seen him yet.

He wouldn't leave Gangdong.

I don't care how many people it takes.

-Find him. -Yes, Boss.

Mumu!

Mumu!

What is it? Did you have a nightmare?

Go to sleep. I'm fine.

Go to sleep, okay?

Let's go to sleep.

Everything is okay.

This is good.

We can do more projects like this.

-Okay. -Give her these two to look over.

Let me know if there are any problems.

Okay. Let's wait for Xia Lin.

-Okay. -You're in charge now.

Xia Lin.

Let me introduce you to your new manager.

Yuyuan, you know each other well. I probably don't have to say anymore.

Xia Lin, I'll do my best.

I look forward to working with you.

Let's work hard together.

I'll let you and Yuyuan talk about your future jobs now.

I have other appointments.

-Okay. -Sure.

Yuyuan,

now we can talk about work.

That's right.

Xia Lin, I picked these two screenplays.

One is a thriller movie with a low budget.

One is a national crime drama.

I think they are both really good.

You can decide which one you like.

Which one do you think suits me better?

It's okay. You can tell me.

You're my manager now.

I need your expertise.

The thriller movie has a lower budget,

but the plot and message are really meaningful.

It would challenge your acting skills,

which means it'll be harder.

But the crime drama has a bigger audience.

You will be seen by more people.

That's quite a professional analysis.

I think that the character

in the thriller movie is more interesting to me.

She's complex and intelligent, but kind.

There's a lot of room for expression.

It'll be a huge challenge.

So you mean...

I chose the thriller movie.

I should step out of my comfort zone

and take on bigger challenges.

Don't worry. I can do it.

I trust you, Xia Lin. You can do it!

We can do it!

Yuyuan has a good eye.

Really?

Mumu.

Now that everything is going smoothly,

when are we going to have our wedding ceremony?

I want to complete my job first.

I know. Mumu, you always work so hard.

Now...

Never mind. You should get back to work.

Okay. Thank you, Mr. Ling.

See you later, Mumu.

I have a meeting.

Text me when you get home.

-What is it? -Boss.

The man I sent to follow Fu Weining lost track of him.

Send more people to protect Mumu.

Yes, Boss.

Hello. Where's Mumu?

Xia Lin just left.

Mumu, where are you?

I was in the elevator. My phone signal was weak.

What is it?

Nothing. It's just...

I wanted to ask what you want for dinner tonight.

Okay. That's all.

Boss, Mrs. Ling's bodyguard reported that everything is fine over there.

Sorry about that.

It's fine.

Hurry!

GOODNESS! WHAT A COUPLE!

THAT GIRL IS SO SHAMELESS

HUOHUO GOT OUT OF SHOWBIZ. WHAT IS SHE DOING?

SHE'S EMBARRASSING HERSELF

Ruan Meng?

Isn't this that girl the other day?

Is she really dating Mr. Chu?

I can't believe she did it.

If I knew it was that easy...

What? You wouldn't have a chance.

Mr. Chu probably liked her before that.

They're both so beautiful. They make a good couple.

You--

What are you doing? Are you working?

Or are you gossiping about me?

-This one is good. -Right?

-Yes. -So nice.

Hello? Chu Yan.

I'm sorry.

I just thought that was a nice photo.

I didn't mean to...

I know.

Sorry about all the trouble.

It's fine.

Don't worry about it.

I'll just post on Sohu Friends

that my girlfriend is Bojue Photography.

It'll be an advertising opportunity.

Chu Yan, I actually...

-I-- -Mr. Chu, everyone is here.

Okay, bring them in.

Sure.

I need to work now. Bye.

Okay. Talk to you later.

CHU YAN: MY GIRLFRIEND IS BOJUE PHOTOGRAPHY

Does he even know that I like him?

Should I just tell him?

No.

That's it.

I've told you everything I know.

My goodness.

Jiang Yushi is so scary.

It's like an extreme thriller drama.

She has been plotting her revenge since she volunteered

to be your manager one year ago.

She helped you become popular

just to tear you down afterward.

That's terrible.

I should actually thank her

for getting me where I am today.

She actually contributed a lot.

But whenever I remember that she did all this for other reasons,

it gives me the chills.

You're where you are today because you're a hard worker.

She hasn't helped you that much.

Didn't she pull some shady tricks before?

The rumors last time and the breakup incident.

She made it seem like she was helping you,

but actually...

The truth is,

if her brother wasn't in that accident,

she probably wouldn't have become like this.

It's all that drunk driver's fault.

So I've been thinking.

If I told her about Yao Liang sooner,

we wouldn't have such a big misunderstanding.

And she wouldn't be like this today.

But then I realized

that she was always biased towards me.

No matter how hard I tried to explain things,

she'd only think I was making excuses.

People

only believe in what they want to believe.

Now that all of this is behind you

and you already have your certificate and proposal,

when are you going to take wedding photos and hold a ceremony?

Probably next year.

Right now,

I want to focus on

shooting this movie first.

I probably won't be able to wear a bridesmaid dress this year.

You can wear a wedding dress first.

I think wedding dresses are much prettier.

I don't want to be like you.

I wouldn't cave in that easily.

If he wants to marry me,

he'll have to hold a huge

and romantic wedding proposal.

The venue of the proposal has to be special too.

It must be where ice and fire meet.

As for my engagement ring...

I don't want a diamond.

That's too tacky.

My ring has to be made from ice that never melts.

It has to have at least 11 shades of the Northern Lights.

Only a unique ring like that will be able to impress me.

I'm so worried about Wen Li.

Who says I'm marrying him?

Really?

If you don't want to marry him, I'll introduce him to someone else.

How dare you?

-I'll kill you! -I will.

Feifei.

-Mr. Wen. -Mrs. Ling.

These are some necessities Boss prepared for you.

That's so sweet of him.

Let me see what's in here.

Coffee.

A tiny fan. That's necessary for filming.

Cookies.

"ABC herbal cotton sanitary pads."

Mr. Ling knows about sanitary pads?

They are herbal which are good for your health.

What a model husband!

Are you jealous?

You can have one too.

Who are you talking to?

Did you hear her?

Will you get some for me?

Feifei, next time you get your period,

-I'll get some for you. -Okay, stop talking.

Boss, Mrs. Ling is holding a party.

-Really? -Yes.

Look.

My Mumu is preparing a surprise for me.

Are you jealous?

Feifei has prepared surprises for me before.

Really?

Hello, Feifei.

Can I talk to you about something?

What is it?

Could you...

prepare a surprise for me?

I'm telling you.

You can't be an irresponsible man.

-Dad. -Dad!

I mean, Mr. Chu.

Chu Yan, I like you.

Get out!

Get out!
