It was a new world.

I thought it was distant and had no relation to me.

Just then I stepped into that world.

Stella Girls' Academy Entrance.

Stella Girls' Academy Entrance.

Wow.

Mom... Dad... Thank you.

I'm glad I studied so hard for the entrance exams.

Maybe I can change a little here!

Excuse me...

Do you know where the girls' dorm is?

You just enrolled too, right?

Yeah...

The dorm's that way.

I see.

Thank you.

No need to be so formal.

I've just been here since middle school.

Just head straight and then turn right.

Hey, show me around school.

What about the dorm?

I know the way now. I'll go there later.

What's your name?

Mine's Nao.

What's yours?

I'm Kaori. Nice to meet you.

Nice to meet you.

Hey there.

You're Yamato Yura, right?

Hello.

Your roommate will be Kashima Sonora, a twelfth grader.

She's visiting her family right now, but she should be back soon.

Be friends, okay?

Okay.

In here.

Wow! Everything about this school's so fancy!

Even the dorm rooms are huge!

This will be my room from now.

I guess that's Kashima Sonora...

I hope she's nice.

I wonder if there'll be anything like a Sœur oath.

STELLA GIRLS' ACADEMY

3

HIGH SCHOOL DIVISION C CLUB

I decided this myself

I decided that relying on chance

is just so ridiculously fruitless

I dwelled in my fantasies too much

I'm going to leave my safety zone behind

The future is opening up to me like a vast river

Even if sailing straight is difficult,

I will hold my head high

I'll change my life,

and the gray rules that govern it

even if I trip and stumble on the way

Others are guiding me, but I will walk

My footprints in this world are so colorful

Very well, let us begin the strategy meeting.

The C3 club has suffered several sub-par recruitment drives,

and we are woefully under strength.

We direly need to recruit new personnel this year.

Let us think of a strategy for the induction of new recruits!

"Strategy for the induction of new recruits"?

Can't we postpone this until the term starts?

It'll be too late by then.

Do you make your strategies on the battlefield too?

Not many girls are into mock battles anyway.

Society thinks we're oddballs.

We ourselves think we're weirdos!

Neither is appealing.

If they only tried it, they'd see it's fun.

I guess war games just aren't for everyone.

Society views airsoft guns with suspicion too.

But it's so much fun!

Fun, you say?

You're wrong.

It's ecstatic!

Oddball.

Weirdo.

Maybe it's a prop?

Maybe Sonora's in the drama or film club?

Yeah, there are a lot of movies!

Maybe there are more props.

Not many different genres, it seems.

Newly enrolled students who haven't picked a club yet

tend to get press-ganged by the first club that takes them along.

So the battle right after the entrance ceremony?

Yeah, but the popular clubs are going to lay siege to the main hall.

I'll back you up as a sniper from afar, then.

New Student

Rento and I will disrupt the enemy and deter them from any recruitment attempts.

New Student

Then I will attack the enemy and annihilate them.

All the new students will crowd our clubroom!

Gee, that'd be nice.

The teachers would get mad if we heckle civilians.

Are there really no new students interested in mock battles?

They'd have to be oddballs.

Weirdos, even.

I'm out.

Thinking about this won't get us anywhere.

Let's have a match to lighten the mood!

All right!

What kind of setting do you want?

How about a Rambo-style battle?!

I want an M60 then.

Rento, can you go and borrow Sono's M60 for me?

You got it!

Rambo

Boom!

Are you okay?

Leave me! Go!

Like hell I'd leave you here! Get up!

Oh, no!

Don't die, Mitchell! Mitchell!

It's not what it looks like!

You're an oddball!

I'm not!

I found an oddball!

No, wait!

A real weirdo!

I'm not, Jesus!

A new student?

Sono's roommate?

Got a club yet?

Um, I'm Yamato Yura.

Um...

Let's cut to the chase.

Want to join the C3 club, Li'l Yura?

Li'l Yura?

How about some tea first, Yurara?

Yurara?

We've got candy too, Yuracchi.

Yuracchi?

I don't think they're really trying to remember my actual name.

Today we have cake, too,

Yura.

She used my name!

Thank you!

The cake did it.

She's a calculating one.

She's easy to understand.

Don't hold back, Li'l Yura.

This is also a part of our club's activities.

Your club activities?

I see. They just drink tea and do nothing actually club-related.

But here in the club I can be surrounded by beautiful seniors and drink tea every day...

That's be so nice!

All right, let us explain, then.

The C3 club is, simply put, about mock battles!

Mock battles?

That's what it is.

It's a bit like war games.

War?

We shoot each other with airsoft guns.

Shoot each other?

And everyone who gets shot is dead!

Dead?

Let's have a nice battle together, Yurara!

These people are crazy!

Where did we go wrong?

You were too pushy, Kari.

Now it's my fault?

She was such a promising weirdo.

We couldn't make her see the fun of mock battles!

Your gun goes bam and the bullets whiz past and you run around.

It hits you and you drop like a sack of rice.

It feels so good!

Yeah, I didn't understand that either.

Well, that's water under the bridge.

Let's try our luck elsewhere.

Want to think of a strategy for the entrance ceremony?

Yeah.

Those were some weird girls.

But war games really aren't for girls...

Check it out, you're my roommate.

Teach me a lot about the campus, please.

Sure thing.

Oh, you're the girl from earlier.

Hi!

Did you find the dorms quickly?

Yeah! My room too!

I'm in Kashima's room over th—

Nakamura, there's a delivery for you.

Nakamura, there's a delivery for you.

Nakamura, there's a delivery for you.

Okay!

Your belongings?

Yeah.

Lemme help you.

Thanks.

I wanna sneak a peek inside.

Come on...

There's nothing unusual in there.

She's already made a friend.

They're all so open.

Makes sense, I guess.

It's a new environment.

I've always looked up to people who stood out among their friends.

The sort who live by their own rules and are still accepted by those around them.

What do you have to do to be like that?

I don't think I could do it.

I'm afraid of dealing with large groups of people.

That's the star I was born under.

I'm sure...

Don't cry...

I wanted to make high school the time of my life!

But at this rate the time of my life'll be postponed until judgment day!

That's so creepy!

Come on, Nao.

Gonna look forward to our time!

Wanna sleep over here?

Don't make a pass at my girl.

Come on, don't be jealous.

Hey, she grinds her teeth at night.

Whoa, maybe I should get a different room.

I don't do that!

Huh?

Did someone leave this here?

What now? Should I wrap i—

Caught you!

I didn't fail to notice that you only responded to cake.

So I left it out as bait!

That was my plan to lure you in!

I wasn't lured anywhere.

Do you have something to wra—

Yura.

Would you please try out our mock battles, even if it's just once?

I know you'll like it!

Please!

Did you like it?

It was super delicious!

So soft!

Okay, I guess.

If you insist.

Really?

Thank you!

You're a weirdo, Yura, so I'm sure you'll enjoy it!

What's wrong with her?

We have a special guest today!

Make her feel welcome!

Hello.

Welcome, Yurara.

Nice to have you, Yuracchi.

Have fun, Li'l Yura.

Let's get started, Bunnyura.

Bunnyura?

So nobody's going to use my name properly after all.

All right, today's game will be a Rambo-style battle.

The Sheriff team will hunt the lone Rambo.

If Rambo is hit, he loses.

If all the Sheriffs are hit, Rambo wins.

Four against one?

That doesn't sound very fair.

Rambo gets a handicap.

She can use a machine gun, but the Sheriffs are restricted to hand guns.

Because we have a beginner today, they're allowed to use wireless communication.

You're together with Rento and Yachiyo, Yurara.

Also Honoka.

You're the Sheriffs.

Karira's going to be Rambo.

All right! You're gonna get knifed!

No! That's too dangerous with Yurara here.

Fine. Here's your knife.

Getting hit with this counts too.

Work up your courage, Li'l Yura.

I'll explain the rules again.

When you get hit by a bullet, you have to say "hit" out loud, and leave the field.

Even your own bullets and ricochets count as hits.

Make sure not to take off your goggles until you've reached the safe zone.

Got it.

Go, Yurara!

Okay.

Keep your voice down. She's gonna find you.

Okay.

Get into some cover.

Don't let her hear your footsteps.

Rento?

Where are you?

It's okay. I can see you.

Fan out so we can press in on her.

Kari's machine gun is powerful, but also heavy and clunky.

That's her weak spot.

There she is!

She's aiming in your direction, Ren. Careful.

Okay.

I'll flank her.

Damn!

Hit!

Yaccha!

Damn. Move.

She's broken out.

What?

She dropped the M60 and is retreating!

I thought she was slow and her gun heavy.

Now she's fast.

Rento!

On the ground, Bunnyura!

Um...

Wow...

We can do it!

Prepare yourself!

Oh, no!

Didn't she drop it?!

Hit.

It was a new world.

I thought it was distant and had no relation to me.

Just then I stepped into that world.

Nicht schlecht.

Command!

Control!

Communication!

The C3 Club!

Yay!

Survival doesn't make the gunshots stop

Carrying the flag I hear gunfire

Smile, 'cause isn't this fun?

Yay!

I blush when I make eye contact with my comrade,

but that's fine

Let's trust each other and laugh

Ready?

3, 2, 1, go! Go!

Take your comrade and get the flag!

Can't you feel your heart thump when you advance?

Let's hit them and laugh

All right?

3, 2, 1, go! Go!

It can be hard, it can be vexing,

but when you overcome that

you'll smile like you never did before

Everyone, take up positions!

Okay!

Okay!

Okay!

Okay!

Okay!

Survival doesn't make the gunshots stop

Carrying the flag I hear gunfire

Enjoy your youth, even if your tears are stolen

Telepathy, a step forward

Don't look down, look ahead

Sorry it took me so long to be enthusiastic about it!

Was that really your first time in a mock battle, Yurara?

Yeah, it was.

So you were a battle virgin, huh?

Guess so.

And you jumped around with a gun in your room even though it was your first time?

You're such a weirdo.

A virgin and a weirdo.

That sounds wrong.

Don't worry.

Soon you'll meet a weirdo who outstrips you.

Next episode.

I shall be your guard.

Meet the real weirdo!
