the power source to other offworld DHDs.

that the gate down there

is one of the oldest in the entire system.

It could be as much
as 50 million years old.

The Antarctic plate wasn't
covered by a glacier back then.

The gate didn't
necessarily originate there.

It could have been moved at any time.

That would put her behind us in
