She also rock climbs and rappels

All the teams are
really neck-and-neck right now.

It looks like it's-it's
gonna be a race to the top.

DEREK:
The physicality of it
was actually pretty intense,

because at first,
it was basically

like a 50-degree incline.

You're just
climbing straight up it.

I was pretty, like,
out of breath,

which I was kind of happy for,
'cause then I was like,

"Well, that means
Emily and Michelle

are definitely
gonna be out of breath."

[whoops]

Hopefully that's encouraging.

I get up to the top, and
there's supposed to be a clue.

So I'm looking around, and
I see a misplaced guitar box.

And I'm like, "Okay,
well, this has to be something."

I open it up, and there's, like,
five misplaced picks.

I look closely at the pick,
and it says "Gibson Garage."

So I think that's my clue.
We're in first right now.

I think I did that climb
pretty fast.

Seems like no one else
is really up yet.

[Michelle groans]

Oh, my God.

I started
to climb the bridge at first.

so I would grab the sides,
and I would pull myself up.

It was very exhausting.

LUIS:
Come on, baby!

MOLLY:
Let's go, Emily!

EMILY:
The climb up,
in the beginning, was great.

And then we started
to get a little higher,

and I was
getting a little bit nervous.

I wasn't trying to look down,

but I kind of peeked over
and saw down.

to try to pull yourself down.

Teams need to bring this
sequence of notes to life

using this giant floor piano.

Each one of these 48 keys

corresponds
to an image and a note.

If they can figure out
the chronological order

of things they encountered
during theirAmazing Race,

they will bring
the theme to life

and get their final clue,
sending them to the finish line.

CLAIRE:

We walk into the auditorium,

and there's a huge keyboard
laid out on the floor.

We're trying to locate images
of places we've been.

DEREK:
Come on, Claire.

Come on. You got this.

Okay, keep going. No.

CLAIRE:
No. Okay.

And every note that you play

will bring up an image,
and some of these images

will bring back
a leg of the race.

-Others of them
will try to throw you off.
Mm-hmm.

-BOTH: Yes.

-CLAIRE:
There's the cube, Derek.
-Oh, we found the cube.

We saw that.

CLAIRE:

[Derek mutters]

-CLAIRE: Yes.
-Gracias.

-CLAIRE: Mega Leg.
-DEREK: Mega Leg.

-CLAIRE: It's this one.

-CLAIRE: Yeah.

Fortunately,
Derek has played piano,

uh, for most of his life.

So Derek's able
to read the keys,

and that's kind of how
we're memorizing the notes.

-DEREK: This is A. Okay.
-Okay, that one.

BOTH: Yes.

-We're in Petra!
-Petra!

Yes, that's exactly it.

-[cheering, applause]

[grunts loudly]

-DEREK: Do you have

Leg four was the statue.

-DEREK: Uh, C, F...

We need to find the chisel.
That's the Citadel.

[all whooping]

MICHELLE:

LUIS:

-DEREK: Michelle and Luis

We got their second place still,
so we could catch up.

And when I got there, I knew
that it was a memory challenge.

And I was like,
"I'm ready for this.

I know every single place."
You can test me and ask me

I know where everything is.

Now, the problem: we're not

musicians at all.

So we had this huge keyboard

that we had to press the keys,

and then the images pop up.

It was difficult.

Eleven images.

LUIS:
So you want to go one at a time?

Scorpions? We never saw that.

-MICHELLE: Okay,
you keep pressing them.
-LUIS: Nope.

Volcano. Iceland.

EMILY:
Oh, my God.

Do you know where we're going?

-Oh, clue!
-MOLLY: We can go this way.

Luis told me that
he wanted to do the first five.

-LUIS: Yeah.
-So he was
practicing on his own.

And then I started
learning the other ones.

And then we realized

when we pressed
the black thing to try it,

there's only 11 seconds.

But for Luis to run

and do the first five,
there was no way

-that he was gonna
be able to do it.
-There was no way.

-So we had
to change our strategy.
-Yeah.

-LUIS: So, it was just tough.
-Try now.

DEREK:
Okay, this is our attempt.
This is our attempt.

-CLAIRE: D.

-[buzzer sounds]

-Okay. It's D-sharp.
-CLAIRE: What did you pick?
Let's go.

DEREK: It's not that, then.
Okay.

-It is Petra.
-DEREK: So we play
all 11 of the notes,

and we think they're correct.

CLAIRE: So we hit the pedal,
and we're putting them in,

and we start seeing X's.

-We're pretty sure
that the photos are right.
-Yeah.

We're running out of time.

The time's counting down.

Oh.

CLAIRE:
We go through a couple of tries

before we realize,
"Oh, it's counting down.

We only have
11 seconds to do this."

That's one second per picture.

And this keyboard is huge.

Wait. Okay, wait.

-So we have to do it
superfast, Claire.
-Okay.

DEREK:
Now it just became
a test of speed.

And you have to work in sync

to get all the keys
in under 11 seconds.

We need to figure it out,
so we can, like, jump on it.

I'm not sure if this is the D.

-CLAIRE: It is. It is. It is.
-It is? Okay.

Ready? Munich.

[groans]

That's right. Firenze.

Um, that was right.

This is really hard.

We weren't as fast
as I would have expected,

so there was a little bit
of stress that slowed us down.

I feel like...

-MOLLY: Oh, my God.
-How is that possible?

Oh, I keep
hitting the wrong one.

-[keyboard notes playing]
-MICHELLE: No, no, no,
I have 'em here. It's this.

-Two, two, two.
-One, two?

-No. Two.
-Oh, no, no, no.

-Oh, we missed this one then.

MICHELLE:
We missed a lot of them.

but we can't get 'em all
within the 11 seconds

without making a mistake.

So, we're trying to figure out,
like, kind of, like,

a zone defense now.
Claire's covering the right side

of the keyboard. I got
the left side of the keyboard.

We just have to get this.

We're so close. Okay.

EMILY: Almost there.

-I went too fast.
-You got to wait for me.

-Damn it. [sighs]

LUIS:
Our strategy is to look at

all the pictures and
start getting them in order.

Then we notice the black keys
are pictures, too.

MICHELLE:

And once again,
we're not musicians.

Like, I know there's black keys,

but I just forgot to press 'em.

That set us back, you know?

So we had to start from scratch.

-Okay, that's fine.
Let's start over.
-All right.

-I'm just forgetting
every time we do it.

-DEREK: Ready?

to have run with all these
competitive teams and to know

winners of the race?

This really feels like
one of the most

competitive seasons
of The Amazing Race,I mean,

I've ever been a part of
and definitely I've ever seen.

It's just such an honor
to be standing here with you

and all these great competitors.

It takes two
to get to the finish line.

It takes teamwork.

Derek was my rock
this entire race.

There's no one else in the world

that I would have
wanted to race with.

He is just
an amazing, amazing man,

and I'm so proud
to be standing next to him.

The reason I started
dating Claire in the first place

was she reminded me
of just, like,

how much
a human could be kindhearted.

I saw that
every single leg of the race.

Truthfully, we didn't even know,
like, how we were gonna

work together as a team.

And I think going
through all these legs together,

we learned so much about

how we can, uh,
really provide for each other

so that we can have
a stronger connection.

KEOGHAN:
New relationship.

A nice financial kick to
the start of your relationship.

So, what's gonna happen now?

You know, there's something
I've been wanting...

-[sputters] No.
-[laughs]: I'm kidding.

I know there's no ring there.

Uh, you don't joke

In all seriousness,
what is the future for you guys?

Really, this million dollars
is the first start

of our lives together.

Uh, we're planning on
getting an apartment,

out the rest of our lives.

I think this
gives a little feeling

of validation
to our relationship.

Claire and I
met on Big Brotherlast summer,

uh, and started dating
immediately.

And now
we're getting thrown into

this, like,
very stressful environment.

There were times where
I was like, "I'm not really sure

how we're gonna
make it out of this."

Even though life is gonna
give us very complicated things,

we're gonna be able
to work through it.
