The Ukrainian military took back control of
Kherson, which had been occupied by the Russians

for nearly nine months.

Many were astonished by the lightning speed
with which this happened, because after the

Russians announced the withdrawal of troops
under the guise of "saving the lives of personnel,"

only a few days had passed.

In my opinion, the liberation of Kherson should
have taken place in late November or early

December.

But one should not regard the current events
in Kherson as something too quick, because

the Armed Forces of Ukraine had been working
on it since the spring.

The liberation of the right-bank part of Kherson
region took place in several stages.Let me

remind you that the first stage was the liberation
of a number of settlements in Kherson oblast

in the spring, which allowed the Ukrainian
side to significantly increase its firepower

on enemy positions, in particular on its facilities
on the right bank.

In fact, this operation, which lasted several
months, ended with the Russians finally realizing

that they could no longer hold this territory,
and they would either be completely destroyed

or have to flee.

Although this was clear back in July - already
then it was seen that the conditions that

are developing in this area will not allow
the Russians to use their resource.

Even if it prevails quantitatively over AFU.

This is what actually happened, but it took
the Russians too long to realize this.

And the current advance of the AFU and the
liberation of the right bank is now taking

place because the occupiers have been making
a chaotic, panicked escape, realizing that

any line of defense here will no longer help
them.

The cleansing of Kherson of saboteurs and
those occupants still left there may take

up to one week.

But we must understand that in Kherson and
on the right bank of the Kherson region as

a whole there are a large number of objects
mined by the occupants.

If we talk about the territory on the right
bank, the mopping-up will last at least until

the end of November, because it is the chaotic
flight of the occupants that makes it impossible

to do it faster.

Because now the occupants, who did not even
know they had to flee and continued to be

in their positions, are scattered along the
right bank and are trying to escape by hiding

and changing into civilian clothes.

But they no longer have the military potential
to pose a threat to the AFU as a single powerful

element.

As a diversion group, yes, but nothing more.

The fall campaign is effectively over, but
ahead of us awaits the winter campaign to

liberate Ukraine from the Russian occupiers.

And it will be even more difficult for them.
