Habit number six is putting your job before your career, if you find yourself over focused on the details

of your job, it may be because you're only thinking of your job and not how this job might serve you

in terms of your overall career, the role it will play in getting you where you ultimately want to

go.

One of the reasons that women often over focus on their job is that they feel loyalty to the people

around them.

Now, loyalty is a good thing.

It's a good quality.

Research has shown that women tend to feel much more loyal to their job, to their organization and

to the people around them.

That's a good thing.

However, when you feel so much loyalty that you feel that positioning yourself for whatever would come

next or making a play for that next position would be abandoning your team, your colleagues or your

boss, then you're going to put yourself in a position where you may remain stuck.

The problem with this is you can become frustrated.

That's when loyalty can get in your way.
