Welcome to your new course.

How to teach English line.

And thank you for joining.

I've written this course to help you develop the skills and knowledge and the confidence to start your

career as an online English teacher to highly motivated students from all over the world.

My name is Charles Cornealious.

I'm an English language teacher and teacher trainer with a master's degree in education.

I've been teaching now for over 20 years all over the world both for international schools and for private

language learning scores including the British Council.

I've trained teachers in language learning techniques.

I'd love to do the same for you now.

I used to teach five days a week sometimes up to 10 hours a day when I was a classroom teacher and I

used to leave me absolutely exhausted and I put those days behind me.

When I started to teach English on line something I started about 10 years ago.

And I love the freedom it gives me and the ability it gives me to make a real difference to students

lives in this course.

I'm going to take you through the steps you need to take in order to start teaching English online by

the end of the course.

You'll be able to teach high quality high value English language lessons and courses to high paying

students from all over the world.

You'll be able to find students using a variety of methods and you'll also know how to go about getting

yourself noticed using social media and you will also be able to make decisions informed decisions about

what to teach including offering highly specialized courses ones that offer incredible value to students

and which make your life much easier on your students learning much more effective.

But I'll begin by taking you through the basic toolkit that you'll need from device and internet speeds

through to communication tools and online whiteboards.

That's all in section 1 of the course and is Section 2.

I'll take you through the crucial question of deciding what to teach and it's something I recommend

you do before even thinking about getting students decide what to teach first and then find students

to teach that too.

And I'll explain why teaching highly specialized types of English is such a great idea.

Something I outline in the lecture called Nish English.

This could for example be Exam preparation and have also included a lecture on that too.

In Section 3 of the Course I'm explained some ways of finding students will look at word of mouth and

using your own personal and professional networks and then also look at social media and online marketplaces

and also online schools.

I've also included the lecture giving you the basics of using social media marketing to find students.

Section 4 is all about getting paid what to charge.

Good practices to follow and payment methods.

And in section 5 you'll learn how the benefits of location independence as an online English teacher

can be used to your advantage.

In Section 6 and beyond you can find lots of lectures lots of information about how to teach and how

to design lessons.

It starts off with a lecture on finding out as much as you can about your students.

Then I've got some lectures on how to teach reading writing speaking listening grammar and also exam

preparation.

There were also lots of extra materials in the downloadable resources section including helpful documents

and links to some of the best websites out there that you can use to help you find tools and resources

for your online teaching lessons.

So there's a lot in the course.

I hope you enjoy it and I hope you find it really useful in setting up your career.

As an online English teacher if you have a moment later in the course please leave a review as this

will help other students find the Course and help them to decide if this course is for them.

So I'll see you in the next lecture.
