parents did not understand it at all.

So it really means a lot to me now

a ruffle and then ruffles here.

When I think of masquerade,

and make it high fashion

Mine is silver again, but I
will play with another color.

I do, because when I was, like, 18,

it was the first time
I experienced being raped.

times I have been raped.

I remember, it happened,
like, inside in a fucking car,

and I was so uncomfortable.

Like, I just wanted to run, but
we were, like, out of nowhere,

and I don't know where I was.

And it was, like, unprotected too.

all of that color and the tulle.

The reveal was a tiny bit clunky.

So this look is just magnificent.

unconventional material

challenge than a design

I would have almost loved for
you to go all in on the pink

and then bring it
throughout onto the skirt

because I do love the pink feathers.

I was expecting a little
bit more after our talk,

because you had all this tulle, and you

had all these other aspects.

That didn't work out.

So this was my second outfit that I made.

My, my, my, where do I begin?

What you managed to do
throughout all of your three

looks is show us versatility.

Every single look was a different vibe.

And I was so impressed by that.

Your first look,
the Matthew Anderson of it all.

It was such a beautiful reference.

It paid tribute to such an amazing queer

icon in the drag community.

It was so beautiful.

I loved the color palette.

And then when you turned around,

I loved that peekaboo moment we got.

Your second look, the cultural reference

was big to me.

That is a cultural reference when

it comes to the Black community
and West Indians and Africans.

And then the reveal was so beautiful.

Josephine Baker is somebody
who was such an inspiration

for Black Americans.

She was a civil rights activist.

She was an entertainer.

You know, a lot of people
know about the bananas.

But she truly was a hero.

You gave us layers.

You gave us dimension.

You gave us culture.

You gave us fashion.

You gave us drag.

This look inspired by your
mask for the masquerade ball,

I love your attention to detail.

I love how you took
every element of the mask

and brought it into the work.

I think that that was really smart of you

to lean into a simple,
glamorous silhouette,

and then add details
that were smart and meaningful.

What we end up getting is something

that I could literally see somebody

wearing on a red carpet.

This is probably my favorite look.

I appreciated the kind of feeling of it.

I wanted the latex to be tighter.

It looked a little baggy to me in places.

OK.

I'm finding with a lot of your
runway presentations, it's...

OK.

There's always a ta-da.

And if you're not
ta-daing, you're skipping.

And we got that in your first
look and your second look

as well, which I really
enjoyed your second look.

I thought that was really,
really fun and very

quintessential you, but I want to see

you be a little bit serious sometimes

and just serve us a look.

In my head, I feel like
I'm walking like Miss Vanjie.

She always has, like, that,
like, double walk step.

You know what I mean?

Yeah, she looks like...
Walks like a little pony.

Am I doing that right?

No, you're just skipping.

The look you're wearing
right now, I really love this look.

The asymmetry of the
shoulder collar detail

really mirrors the mask that you have,

and I love that you did
a pant for a masquerade.

The construction is beautiful.

For the ball, I would have liked to have

seen a little bit more drama.

You look great, but looking at you,

it's all very kind of flat.

It needed something else.

It needed another dimension just

to kind of give it that grandeur

that we would think of when
we think of masquerade ball.

OK.

But overall,
it came out really, really well,

and it really does show what
a great seamstress you are.

You're no hot glue gun girl.

Last but certainly not least,
it is Jada Shada Hudson.

Well done on giving us
three different sides of Jada.

Your first look,
I was angry, because I saw it,

then I was like, great, now I
can't do that on the runway myself.

It was so good.

And then the grill reveal.

You gave us all kinds of
old-school Chicago swag,

big daddy slash mama.

Swagged down the runway.

The second look, Incog-She-To,

you were supposed to
reveal into a drag queen.

I got drag queen who
revealed into a slightly

more reflective drag queen.

because when you told me in the
Werk Room you were going to be

doing paper fans covered in
gold attached to the front

of your dress, I was like...

This is a disaster waiting to happen.

I know you can't sew, but I
think you did a really good job.

I love the drape
that goes across the body,

and it's this beautiful waterfall vision.

And you look so regal.

I'm really getting that masquerade vibe

from the tulle and the brocade,
so perfect fabric choices on that.

I was less of a fan of the jersey

knit that you chose for the gown itself,

but hearing that you don't have
that much sewing experience,

I actually think it's
a really smart choice

because the tailoring
and the fit that you would have

to achieve with a maybe
non-stretch material

could have compromised the overall look.

But I love that you added
the flair with the hoop

at the bottom.

I'm getting very much a royal
vibe from you, which I love.

For her final look, she gave us

the fantasy of going to a masquerade ball,

and, also, it reflected
the mask that she had,

which was also part of the challenge.
