And who knows.

Maybe there are still
incredible communication technologies

that we know nothing about today,

because we can't imagine them.

But they will be invented
sometime in the future.

Maybe even by one of you.

Depending on the numbers used
in the last parts of the equation,

we get a range of possible answers,

so that the Drake Equation tells us

the number of possible
extraterrestrial civilizations

can be anywhere from one, ours,
to more than 30 million!

Whatever the true answer
to the Drake Equation turns out to be,

a big number
into the hundreds of thousands,

or a small number
that you can count on your hands...
