the robots changed,

headquarters, where

the suspension of
officer Ned Wilson,

who's been a member of the
department for over 15 years,

has created controversy.

With me here is Sergeant Al
Benedict of the Patrolmen's

Benevolent Association.

Sergeant, what do you
think of the alleged murder

that Officer Wilson
is involved in?

Murder?

A protester came
after him with a club.

Wilson got a raw deal.

It was self-defense.

Sergeant Green,

Captain Nicholson has

under these circumstances.

If Wilson isn't reinstated

pending the outcome

and the computer the same way

a tiny telephone wire can
carry 10,000 calls at once.

And the result is
perfect coordination

and lightning fast reflexes.

It sounds like a
maximum strength robot.

But they usually
get the job done.

And that's what's
bothering me.

If this robot was
programmed to kill,

there's no way that Nicholson
could have defended himself.

Then Quaid didn't
want Nicholson killed,

only incapacitated.

You think they
might have wanted

to replace him with a robot?

Nicholson?

Well, if that was
the objective, why?

And did he succeed?

REPORTER: Since we talked
to Captain Nicholson,

the case has taken
a bizarre turn.

We learned that
Captain Nicholson

was the victim of
a brutal attack

as he returned home
after our interview.

Although the department issued
the usual "no comment" comment,

your reporter learned that the
assailant is still at large.

What is not known, however,
is whether the alleged attack

on Nicholson is in any way
connected with the disposition

of the Wilson suspension.

the security unit seems

to be making more headlines than
the celebrated men and women it

is assigned to protect.

to believe, especially a robot

trying to infiltrate my team.

transmissions directly

There's no doubt about it.

having miraculously recovered
from a near fatal auto accident

a little over two years ago.

And he now hopes to keep

They should be about ready.

The metal detector's
kept at the stage door.
