for me to help out.

a Monsieur Jouvais,

a storekeeper up at Gold Creek.

him groceries and dried good supplies.

which he rings along the way,

and the miners come to buy
directly off his wagon.

As a result, on more
than one occasion,

he sold the wagon clean
before reaching home.

with his pouches of gold

and load up back here again.

- There ought to be people
who did business with him

along the way, then.

Might even remember the time.

- No doubt of it.

- Well, man, wagon, and
team can't all disappear.

I think I'll backtrack his route

and see if I can't find out
who it was saw him last.

I was sure Jouvais had
followed a direct route

back to Gold Creek, all right,

selling from the wagon as usual.

One miner positively
confirmed the time

because he had bought
a fine new silver watch

from Monsieur Jouvais.

Two miners knew him all right

but hadn't seen hide
nor hair of him.

(ominous music)

Then, I met a boy.

- [Anthony] Jimmy's

- James Vincent Dobbs, sir.

- How old are you, Jimmy?
