(Chess of Generals Camp)

You said

that Right Minister saved you in advance.

What does that mean?

I'm not sure either.

I can't figure him out.

This is the first time

that I have felt...

so helpless about anyone.

I don't know what he wants to do.

And I don't know what to do with him either.

I keep telling myself

that I can't believe him.

But in my heart,

I do.

What did he say?

He said

that everything he's doing

is to eliminate the eunuch's faction,

and make Xing prosper again.

You don't believe it,

right?

I don't believe that there's anyone like that

in this world.

But I've met someone like that.

When a citizen was sick before,

(Chess Ancestor Shennong) Shennong started tasting hundreds of herbs

to check their effects

and distinguish their roles in medicine.

Even if I can't compare to Emperor Yan,

I must still be loyal.

It's precisely because I've met someone like him

that I can't help but believe him.

What is Qiu Ziliang doing?

He's gone.

He's gone?

General.

How is the situation outside?

Aside from you and Jiang Ding,

other Central Command Assistant Generals are all dead.

It's a trick!

General.

If Eunuch Qiu falls,

what should you do?

If he doesn't fall, I'll die too!

This won't do.

It's too dangerous in Heng'an.

Prepare a steed and money for me.

I must leave this place.

Yes.

What about Physician Shen?

He already committed suicide by taking poison.

What a shame.

How's Jiang Ding?

He's ambitious.

And his son is in my hands.

He'll keep his mouth shut.

Even if he confesses,

he'll only mention me.

He definitely won't drag you down.

The only problem now

is Yuan Xing.

He's not dead?

No.

But he won't be able to wake up either.

What if he does?

I replaced

all the servants

around Yuan Xing.

They can make a move at any time.

In ten days, Misha and the Zhenwu Army

will meet up.

After ten days,

Qi Yan's crisis

will be over.

Uncle.

Can we still connect Yu'er's bones?

Yes.

Really?

Right Advisor was lenient with her.

Your Majesty.

Is your wound infected again?

Your Majesty.

I'm fine.

Why do you both

worry people so much?

All right.

I'll stop.

Anyway, you won't listen

to me either.

No.

We'll surely focus on recovering this time.

That's great.

Your Majesty.

I bid my leave.

Thank you, Uncle.

Focus on recovering.

Take your medicines on time.

You're hungry?

Are you going to give me something delicious to eat?

Of course.

I told Huaizhi

to prepare cherry pastry for you.

How did you know

that I like cherry pastry?

How can I not know?

Didn't I tell you earlier?

I told Huaizhi to prepare it for you.

Why did you ask Uncle about that?

I asked him

how he met you back then,

and how did you suddenly become

his niece.

He said

that when he saw you,

you were eating pastry

like a starving ghost.

He thought that you'd be easy to feed.

That's not true.

I'm picky with food.

I won't eat the cherry pastry

if it's not

from General Han Yue's house.

Yu'er.

You've eaten the cherry pastry

from Han Yue's house?

I also don't know

why I said that.

When I saw Han Yue,

I didn't remember the pastry.

Why did I say that?

Why?

I...

Yu'er.

That's not important.

That's not important at all.

Your identity isn't important either.

What's important then?

You.

Stop overthinking things.

Get some sleep.

Glose your eyes.

Be good. Listen to me.

Bad news.

Official Qiu is back.

He appointed Nine as the new Right Chariot.

Father, you didn't come home all night.

I was very worried.

I'm fine.

Come here first.

Listen to Right Chariot's report.

Yes.

In the name

of picking up Princess Misha,

the Zhenwu Army is coming here fiercely.

Those in the border checkpoints didn't dare to stop them.

This is a letter I stole

from their military camp.

You went to the Zhenwu military camp?

I was originally

stationed in Yunzhou.

(Chess of Generals Camp, New Right Chariot) I came back after stealing the letter.

(Qi Yan keeps harming Princess Misha. Mobilize troops to save her. Cheng Xi)

Cheng Xi is so bold.

I can't believe that she's secretly colluding

with Zhenwu.

If Cheng Ruoyu didn't make a fuss,

we wouldn't have found out.

Left Advisor.

You still haven't found Cheng Xi?

Father.

Yesterday, Cheng Xi

kidnapped me and took me to a place around the Yuzhen Hall area.

Right Minister and Left Advisor went there.

Even if they were able to save me,

unfortunately, Cheng Xi got away.

Please give me three more days.

We'll surely capture Cheng Xi.

No.

You have another mission.

I heard that Central Commander Yuan is in a coma.

I especially found

a local divine healer to treat him.

He checked Central Commander Yuan earlier.

He said that he could be saved.

Your Majesty.

Duke Chu is sick,

and he's on leave.

He didn't come.

Your Majesty.

Yesterday, Shencai Army Central Commander Yuan Xing

and Shi Yuan had an internal conflict.

During their fight,

four assistant generals were killed.

Yuan Xing himself is seriously injured and in a coma.

Now, the Shencai Army is in a panic.

We need to appoint new central commanders.

I've already made a list.

Please take a look.

Your Majesty.

(The proposal of Shencai Army's new Central Commanders)

Your Majesty.

Duke Chu manages the Shencai Army.

In appointing new central commanders,

shouldn't we

consult him?

(Memorial to the Throne)

Duke Chu indulged his subordinates

and failed to supervise them well,

causing the imperial court to lose

six talented generals today.

From now on,

he's no longer the Shencai Army General-in-chief.

Han Ding will replace him.

As for the new central commanders,

let's follow this list.

You're dismissed.

Your Majesty.

- Take care, Your Majesty. - Take care, Your Majesty.

The divine healer said that Central Commander Yuan

is not in a coma

because Shi Yuan wounded him.

It's because someone forcefully

hit his Fengchi acupuncture point

through his Neiguan acupuncture point before that.

It's very strange to kill someone this way.

Unless

his objective is to cover it up.

There are very few

who can

do this secretly

with everyone watching.

In Chess of Generals Camp,

only two people can do that.

Left and Right Advisors.

Right Advisor was beside me back then.

Of course that's impossible.

Left Advisor.

Was it you?

Will hitting the Fengchi acupuncture point via the Neiguan one

really work in making someone

instantly fall into a coma?

We need to try it.

(Qi Ang.)

(Teacher.)

(Did you see that?)

(I did it.)

(First step.)

(Take his military authority.)

(Second step.)

(Eliminate his comrades.)

You may go.

- Yes. - Yes.

Are you hungry?

You want breakfast?

Nothing's here.

There's no breakfast?

You're making me hungry too.

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

If you're hungry,

guess what this is.

It smells very refreshing.

It should be a kind of leaf.

You have a great sense of smell.

It's pagoda leaves.

Cold pagoda noodles?

You ate your favorite yesterday.

Today, try my favorite.

Your favorite is cold pagoda noodles?

Why haven't I seen you

eat it before?

Because...

Because when I was little,

I loved running away from home.

One time, Qi Ang caught me,

and he asked me three questions.

What were they?

Do you have people?

Do you have authority?

Do you have money?

Back then,

I didn't know

what they meant indeed.

I only realized

after growing up

that in doing anything,

you must rely on those three things.

What happened afterwards?

Afterwards,

since I made a mistake,

I admitted my mistake.

Then Qi Ang

commanded people to cut off the pagoda tree

and bring it back to the palace.

He personally used the leaves

to make noodles for me.

And he said three things again.

What are they?

Do you regret it?

Does it hurt?

Are you happy?

"Are you happy?"

If you know

that you've made a mistake,

and you regret it,

you can start over.

Since Qi Ang died,

I never ate

cold pagoda noodles again.

The late emperor must really love you.

I was the one he loved the most.

Regarding the late emperor and I...

Before

that happened,

I already acknowledged Qiu Ziliang as my godfather.

That's not important.

It's not important at all.

What's important then?

Happiness.

Happiness.

(Library of Historical Records)

Everyone!

His Majesty has orders

to search the city and capture these two criminals.

(Conspirator Cheng Xi. Perpetrator, Shi Yuan) If you have any reliable news,

you'll be rewarded with 100,000 tael.

100,000 tael?

- That's a lot of money! - That's a lot!

Everyone!

Listen carefully.

His Majesty has orders

to search the city and capture these two criminals.

He's not awake yet.

They won't allow anyone to see him.

Did you find out Shi Yuan's background?

Not yet.

Check Right Chariot too.

I suspect that he has other motives

in coming back this time.

Yes.

You're going

to give me babies.

Why do you still feel embarrassed?

All right.

You're seriously injured,

and you can't move.

Stay here,

so that I can take good care of you.

I can go back to Violet Bureau.

But we haven't

found Cheng Xi yet.

What if she returns?

Don't think too much.

There's surely a way to resolve this.

You can't sleep?

You're thinking about your aunt?

Your Majesty.

After eight days,

will it really be over?

The precondition

is for everything to go well.

But I'm afraid

that it won't go so smoothly.

With you here,

I'm not scared of anything.

No matter what happens,

I'm not alone.

You're with me.

Your Majesty, watch out!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Protect His Majesty!

Guards! Protect His Majesty!

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

Guards!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty.

Guards!

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty.

What happened, Your Majesty?

Seal the palace gates!

No one can go out.

Go.

Yes.

Did something happen?

Your Majesty.

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty.

Bad news, sir!

Sir!

Sir, bad news!

A lot of men in black are outside!

Shi Yuan has been captured.

Where is he?

In the palace.

He was captured when attempting to assassinate Qi Yan.

Qi Yan is seriously injured.

Official Qiu entered the palace in advance.

How are you feeling?

Are you all right?

Father.

Sir.

I'm afraid that His Majesty's injury...

I'm afraid...

What?

I'm afraid that he won't last long.

He won't last long?

How long then?

At most, one month.

At the minimum, these few days.

What are you talking about?

How many days?

Slap yourself.

- Slap yourself! - Your Majesty.

How many days?

I'll slap you!

I'll slap you!

Eunuch Cheng.

Don't be anxious.

You may all go.

Yes.

Scram!

Get away!

What do I need you all for?

To give you rewards?

What do I need you for?

You just enter the palace when you want to.

You just attempt an assassination when you want to.

I'll kick you to death.

I'll kick you to death!

Bah!

Yuan Xing was jealous of my promotion,

and he tried to frame me.

His Majesty wants to arrest me

without distinguishing between what's right and wrong!

Instead of dying due to a false accusation,

I should just take a chance!

I'll fight with you!

I'll kill you!

I'll kill you!

I'll kick you to death!

Eunuch Cheng.

You can kill him

after listening to what happened.

Central Commander Shi.

Tell us everything

that happened

that day.

Yes, sir.

That day,

I invited friends from the military for drinks.

Yuan Xing didn't want to come.

Forget that he wasn't coming.

He even told others not to come.

Madam Cheng is already safely out of the city.

Shi Yuan entered the palace to assassinate His Majesty

and got captured.

His Majesty is very seriously injured.

I'm afraid...

And I just found out

that Shi Yuan has

an unknown talent.

He has sharp eyes and ears

and great memory.

I'm afraid that Yan Xiu...

Qiu Ziliang might be suspecting

Yanzhi and Yan Xiu.

What should we do?

After I injured Yuan Xing,

I returned to the banquet hall

and saw that my comrades are all dead.

That was what happened.

That day, you said

that Yuan Xing had a servant with him

who took the lead a few times

in the fight.

Yes.

I got physical with them

because that guy provoked me.

Do you still remember what he looked like?

Yes.

If I see him again,

I'll surely recognize him.

What's the matter?

That person...

That person looked like

Official Yan a bit.

However,

that guy has a beard.

I get it now.

Since you're saying

that he looked like Left Advisor,

let him put on a beard

and see.

Then

you can capture the person based on what he looked like.

(His Majesty is on the verge of life and death.)

(Yet Qiu Ziliang is just busy with the investigation.)

(This won't do.)

(I have to find a way to end this soon.)

Official Shi.

Does he look like that person?

That's it.

He's the one!

That's right.

It's Yan Xiu.

I bought him off.

Punish him!

Central Commander Shi.

Look carefully.

Are you sure?

They look exactly alike.

I can't be wrong.

Even if they look exactly alike,

he might not necessarily be Left Advisor.

You mean

that I'm intentionally framing Official Yan?

Father.

Please give me some time.

Sure.

Follow me.

Come in.

Official Shi.

Among these four people,

which one was

the guard with a beard?

Well...

Well...

What's the matter?

You can't recognize them now?

Didn't you say

that if you see him again,

you can surely recognize him?

Left Advisor has no feud with you.

Why do you want to harm him?

No.

Speak.

Let them speak.

I remember that person's voice.

Once they speak,

I can tell.

Turn around, all of you.

What should they say?

At that time, that man yelled,

"How dare you hurt our General!

Brothers, attack!"

Right.

Say it.

How dare you hurt our General!

Brothers, attack!

How dare you hurt our General!

Brothers, attack!

How dare you hurt our General!

Brothers, attack!

The third one.

The third one's voice sounds like him.

Third person, turn around.

Fourth person, say it.

How dare you hurt our General!

Brothers, attack!

No.

The fourth person sounds like him.

Sir, the fourth person sounds like him.

Fourth person, turn around.

Official Shi.

These two

were the ones you just identified.

Between the third and fourth one,

which one is it?

Father.

Basing it on the looks and voices

isn't enough to confirm this.

I'm afraid that someone is intentionally trying to frame Left Advisor,

so that you'd suspect him.

Sir.

When the incident happened,

I was practicing martial arts in the camp.

The soldiers were all witnesses.

Please investigate clearly.

The soldiers

are all under your command.

Of course they'll be your witnesses!

Well...

Shut up!

Central Commander Shi.

Sir.

Were the beauty and the gold from Cheng Xi

nice?

Sir.

No.

That's not true, Sir.

Your concubine already confessed.

Cheng Xi was the one who gave her to you, wasn't she?

In the past three years,

every year,

you received a box of gold.

Am I right?

I don't know anything about this, sir.

Sir, spare me!

Sir. You said...

You said that I could make up for my crime

as long as I enter the palace and assassinate His Majesty.

Sir.

You must be a man of your word!

Sir!

Sir!

Sir!

Sir, spare me!

Sir!

Sir.

Central Commander Yuan is awake.

Yes.

His Majesty is stricken with misfortunes.

He just got the military authority.

Yet he just enjoyed it for a short time.

You tried everything.

In the end,

it's still up to me.

Guards!

- Yes. - Yes.

Watch His Majesty well.

Without my permission,

no one can go near him.

- Yes! - Yes!

What are you doing?

Your Majesty.

How bold! What are you doing?

- Uncle. - Your Majesty!

- Uncle! - Your Majesty!

- Your Majesty! - Uncle.

Your Majesty!

Your Majesty.

We've been through

so much already.

We must hang on in this last hurdle.

Wake up.

You must wake up.

(Duke Chu's Residence)

Did you block Li Deyun already?

We've already sent soldiers

to trap him in the Study Room.

So,

even if he has 100,000 Shencai Army,

what's the use?

At the crucial moment, it's better

to let someone make a move secretly

to turn the situation around.

Father.

The Zhenwu Army is near.

If His Majesty dies now,

we'll be in big trouble.

So what if he dies?

Just seal the news.

Besides,

with the Crown Prince in our hands,

what are you afraid of?

Hang Shi Yuan's head outside.

Say that he assassinated His Majesty

and made him seriously injured and difficult to heal.

Everything will depend on his fate.

Yes.

Your Majesty.

You're awake.

Did Qiu Ziliang

give you a hard time?

No.

But Uncle was captured.

Without Han Ding here,

I'm afraid that Li Deyun

won't be enough

to deal with Qiu Ziliang.

I

might really not survive this.

No.

We survived

so many times already.

We can surely get through this.

It's true.

I was careless,

and Qiu Ziliang was able to overturn the situation.

It was my fault.

If you didn't try to save me,

you wouldn't get stabbed.

It was my fault.

Why are you crying?

It's nothing.

You helped me get

the Shencai Army's military authority,

and you're willing to die for me.

I got stabbed on your behalf.

We're even now.

How can my life

compare to yours?

It's fine even if I die.

If you die,

what will happen to Xing?

If that happens,

it's fate.

I did my best.

I believe that Qi Ang

and Teacher

wouldn't blame me too much.

Before I die,

there's something important

that I must do.

Guards.

Guards!

Yes.

It's you?

This is good too.

Go beside my table.

I'll dictate it,

and you write it.

Yes.

"Cheng Ruoyu

is well-mannered,

clever, and virtuous.

I like her very much.

She's appointed the title of Beauty

and given a thousand arces of farmland.

If something happens to me,

she's allowed

to return to her hometown and remarry.

That is the imperial command."
