Now, more than ever before,
people are acting up

And acting out while traveling.

- If there's no flight, just
say, "there's no flight!"

- [robert] it's a melting
pot of stress and anxiety.

- I want the manager
of the airport here!

- [robert] whether it's
strangeness in the air,

Or strangers on the ground,

This jet stream of raw emotion
is all caught on camera.

- Enough, you don't put your
hands on my flight attendant!

- I'm robert hays.

I played the reluctant
pilot of a doomed flight

In the classic film, "airplane".

But in real life, air travel
is just as hair-raising.

- [man] oh!
(people screaming)

- [robert] so, buckle up.

We're about to take off.

(airplane engine roars)

Statistics show that 19-20%
of commercial flights

Experience some kind of delay.

And that number has
been trending upwards.

The delays are caused by
weather, mechanical issues,

Staffing troubles, or in
the case of our first story,

An alabama woman
who believes that,

If she can't go to
vegas, then no one can.

She's just boarded
the plane in atlanta

And is very unhappy.

- How y'all gonna
inconvenience me?

I get on the plane and y'all
telling me I gotta get off?

No. Today I'm not.

And I'ma make sure
it's recorded.

- [robert] she's
gone live on facebook

To let everyone know
what's going down.

- What is up is I'm
sittin' on this airline...

- And she telling me I
gotta get off the plane.

I'm trying to go to las vegas.

- [robert] she got on the
wrong plane without a ticket.

And now she won't get off.

Now an officer tries
to have calm words

With the enraged woman.

- Huh? Yeah.

- [allen] hmm?

- [allen] you mean I gotta
take my seat belt off?

- [allen] you can
talk to me right here.

- [allen] okay, well I'ma
make sure everybody hear

What spirit gotta say.

- [officer] you can record
it but...

- [allen] I'm not
getting off this plane.

- [robert] it doesn't work
and she continues her tirade.

- [robert] the trespassing
passenger's rant

Causes the airline to pull
everyone off the plane.

- I'm not getting off!

- [pilot] ladies and
gentleman I do apologize.

You can leave your
belongings on the aircraft,

But we are going
to have to deplane.

- [allen] yeah.

- [allen] yeah!

- [allen] yeah, I'll starting
rioting in this mother (beep).

- [announcement] you will need
your boarding passes with you

Just to help us to get
everybody back on

And make sure you're all here.

We do apologize for this
inconvenience.

- [robert] while getting a
sarcastic round of applause

From one passenger...

- [robert] other passengers
become the target

Of allen's verbal barrage.

- [allen] good, you ain't
goin' to heaven either.

- [passenger] I'm okay with
that, I'm okay with that.

- [allen] you goin' to hell.

- [allen] that's hell
that way. Hell that way.

- [robert] offending fellow
travelers isn't enough.

Allen goes next level and
starts in with the flight crew.

- [allen] what you
lookin' at mr. Pilot?

Hell, (beep) you gettin'
paid by the hour. What!

How you gon look at me like
that? You get paid by the hour.

Huh?

I'll drive the cockpit.

- [allen] I'll
punch you in yo eye!

What you gonna do?
What you gonna do?

- [allen] you ain't done
nothin' but stood right there...

- [robert] she sits down
again and atlanta pd is back.

- How you doin' mr.
Baker, sergeant baker?

- I'm sergeant baker
with the atlanta police.

- [allen] yeah.

- I'm the police supervisor.

- [allen] okay.

- From what I understand,
you have been denied boarding

And you are not
going on this flight.

- So, what I need you to
do is get up off the plane.

- Yeah, I sure will
for mr. Officer.

- [police officer]
get your stuff.

- I got my stuff. You got
your stuff, mr. Officer baker?

I'ma get off when I say...

When jesus tell me to
get off, I'ma get off.

- [robert] allen's live
streaming rant lasts

For almost 20 minutes.

- [officer] ma'am.

- Yeah.

- [officer] go ahead and put
your phone in your pocket.

- Nah, I'm not doin' that one.

- [officer] ma'am.

(beep)

- I'm not puttin' it in
there. It's recording.

- [police officer] ma'am.

Gon' head.

- [robert] until the cops
come out and she's arrested.

She didn't go to vegas
but she did go to jail.

She has reportedly apologized
on her social media page.

Still, she's been placed on
the airline's no fly list.

(jet engine whirrs)

- [robert] when it comes
to airline rules,

Sometimes the fine
print will get ya.

But what if you read
those small details

And found a place
for a big, fat joke?

These clever, young
travelers looked into it

And discovered there's
no limitation

For boarding pass size.

So, they go big.

- [traveler 1] this
is my boarding pass.

- [traveler 2]
yeah, the top one.

- [traveler 1] wait,
why is it so big?

- [traveler 2] what do you mean?

This is the only
size that they have.

You think that's gonna scan?

(airport employee laughing)

- [traveler 1] yeah, it'll scan.

- [traveler 2] you can.

- [traveler 1] yeah, go for it.

- Oh, thank you.
That is so dope.

- [robert] they have
the 3-foot long ticket

And it's turning heads.

- Next.

- You can scan this?

- [robert] it's a case
of go big and go home.

Remember, it's not the
size of your ticket,

But how you use it.

- Parents traveling
with children know

They always have to be on guard.

Because, without warning,
danger can strike.

- [robert] a family of
five is in atlanta's

Hartsfield-jackson
international,

On their way to disney world,
when their magical trip

Takes a frightening turn.

It's approximately
5:30 in the morning

When an unsuspecting mom
is ambushed by this woman

In the pink hat.

The woman brazenly tries
to snatch the baby girl

In the stroller.

Mom desperately struggles
to protect her children

As their father comes to help.

Then the woman
attempts to run off

With their 6 year old boy.

Atlanta police
surround the group,

Then gives chase as the
perpetrator runs off.

Police have a hold on her,
but the determined woman

Is still trying to
get at those children.

They get her down, but
she continues to battle.

For the family, on their
way to the magic kingdom,

It was an unforgettable,
harrowing experience.

Fortunately, the atlanta
police were quick to respond,

And the potential
kidnapper was arrested.

(jet engine whirrs)

- [robert] next up, a one-man
demolition crew

On the loose in an airport.

At arizona's small
glendale municipal airport,

Camera's capture this
guy smashing his way

Into the terminal building.

(loud bang)

(glass breaking)

The multiple angles show
the relentless vandal

Destroying airport property,

Including a security camera.

His weapon of choice:
A broken hammerhead.

The single runway airport
and flight school was closed

When the disorderly man began
this path of destruction.

Glendale police say
the nighttime vandal

Also dragged a hose
into the airport

And flooded
part of the first floor.

The entire airport was forced
to shut down for 24 hours

While crews dried and
repaired the area.

The cost of all this
damage: $70,000.

Police arrested the man
and authorities believe

The vandalism was an entirely
random act of destruction.

Routines are a mainstay
of any normal flight.

Any deviation is sure
to raise some eyebrows.

Instead of that same ol'
pre-flight speech they've heard

Over and over, passengers
aboard this american flight

From vegas to philadelphia,

Get the surprise
of something new.

the expectant father

how mid-air anger
can boil over

Into the airport.

In April, 2017, a flight
from dallas has just arrived

At terminal c of kansas
city international airport.

Keep your eyes on these two.

One man pushes another,
an off-duty pilot.

Not once, but twice.

Let's watch again as this man

Tries to get a
bigger fight going.

Court documents say the
incident began in-flight

Where the angry man
claims the off-duty pilot,

Who was flying as a
passenger on the flight,

Took up too much space in the
aisle and was disrespectful.

The irate man deliberately
follows the pilot

Through the concourse.

He even takes his phone out
to take a photo of his badge.

The pilot swats the
phone out of his face

And it sets the man off.

This traveler narrowly
dodges the altercation.

He's still trying to
get that photo op.

The out of control
passenger was arrested

And the pilot suffered
cuts and bruises

To his arms and legs.

- [robert] when you're sitting
in your car in light traffic,

The last thing you
expect is to become part

Of an aviation nightmare.

At a stoplight north
of seattle, washington,

A dash cam captures
this unforeseen moment.

Let's see that
blazing crash again.

The single-engine plane
had just taken off

From nearby paine field airport.

It struck a power line
and a traffic light,

Rupturing a fuel cell and
causing the explosion.

Unbelievably, pilot, kelby
miller, survived the fiery crash

Completely unscathed.

(intense music)

- [robert] when you're boarded
on a plane,

It's usually a good idea

To turn on the air
vent above your seat

To allow filtered
air to circulate.

But who knew this
apparatus was so versatile?

On a flight from
minnesota to north dakota,

A passenger notices
something unusual

And begins recording.

No need to adjust your tv.

That is a fellow passenger
using the vent to dry his shoe.

And when you don't
have time to do laundry

Before you catch your flight,

Well, there's a
solution for that.

A woman held the
underwear over her head

For approximately 20 minutes.

Fellow passengers and crew
members were so stunned

By the random act, no
one confronted her.

Looks like she doesn't mind
airing out her dirty laundry.

jaded veteran or new to the job

It's just not easy being a
flight attendant these days.

Why are you dressed like that?

- Because I just
came back from miami.

came back from miami?

About the woes of the gig.

passengers on this trip?

Abby got a raise
and some ice cream

When she landed in her-ami.

- Airline labor disputes
can lead to strikes,

Widespread cancellation,

And a ton of anger.

And it can be chaotic when
the only things flying

At the airport are fists.

In may, 2017, a contract
dispute between an airline

And it's pilot union

Resulted in approximately
300 flight cancellations.

More than 20,000
customers are affected,

Including many at fort
lauderdale international

Where all hell breaks loose.

Tensions reach a breaking
point and mayhem erupted

As hundreds of
distraught travelers,

Stranded indefinitely,

Begin fighting with
each other and police.

Right here, we see a
customer and a policeman

Crashing to the floor.

Three policemen finally
restrain one violent customer

On the ground.

He's taken away in
handcuffs amid some applause

From bystanders.

Three are arrested in
the melee and charged

With disorderly conduct.

(people screaming)

- [robert] animals on a plane
aren't unheard of,

But sometimes the animals
themselves can be unusual.

These vips -"very
important penguins"-

Are from seaworld in orlando.

And they're totally
playing up to the paparazzi

As they strut up the aisle.

Ever wonder what you do if you
have to transport 80 falcons

At one time?

If you're this
saudi arabian price,

You just purchase 80
seats on the next flight.

The birds sit in coach
along with other passengers

Traveling to jeddah
in saudi arabia.

The training hoods they
wear keep them relaxed

During the flight.

And the plastic seat covers
are there in case any of them

Commits a foul.

But not all of the animals
are ticketed passengers.

This spirit airlines flight
came equipped with a live bat

As in-flight entertainment.

stowaway on this

Open-cockpit glider figures,

"I've got nine lives.
What the hell."

The kitty made it back
to solid ground safely.

But her friends never
believed her story.

(laughing)

- [robert] when it comes to
marriage proposals,

Some people think the perfect
place to get on one knee

Is at the airport.

- [robert] in 2014,
a woman arrives at

San francisco
international airport

And gets a choreographed
bollywood dance proposal.

(upbeat music playing)

(people cheering and clapping)

- [robert] glad she
said yes after all that.

And good luck trying to top
this surprise marriage proposal.

When airline pilot,
gagan sein marwaha,

Decided he wanted to marry his
girlfriend, mamta baunthiyal,

A flight attendant
for etihad airways,

He planned the ultimate
surprise proposal

Right in abu dhabi
international airport.

just gotten off work

Returning home after a long
flight from sydney, australia.

And she has no idea
what she's in for.

The elaborate dance routine
continues for over five minutes.

And, finally, gagan
makes his appearance.

It took gagan over three months

To organize the
entire spectacle.

It looks like his plan worked.

The happy couple went
on to tie the knot

At a ceremony in goa, india

And have vowed to continue
dancing together forever.
