[Legend of Fuyao]

[Episode 50]

If...

If a life must be sacrificed for the oath...

then take mine.

But you have to keep your promise.

I want you to wipe out the fatuous king...

and restore peace to Tiansha.

General!

Zhan Bei Ye!

Zhan Bei Ye...

I'm all right.

Zhan Bei Ye...

I'm all right.

Why are you so silly?

Without you...

What will the people of Tiansha do without you?

Without you...

What will I do?

It will be all right.

My life doesn't matter at all.

If it's for your sake, I'm willing to do anything!

Head back...

Head back and tell Zhangsun Wu Ji...

Ask him to look after Tiansha for me.

I don't want to.

I don't want to!

I don't want to! Tiansha is yours!

You have to kill Zhan Nan Cheng!

You have to rescue your mother!

I won't let you die.

I won't let you die!

- I won't! - Zhu Zhu...

Silly girl.

If sacrificing my life can restore peace to Tiansha...

and ensure my mother's safety

then it's worth it.

It's just... it's just now...

that I realize...

You're the one I'm most worried about.

It's you.

I owe you too much... too much.

You don't...

Promise me.

- I don't want to. - Forget me.

I don't want to!

Zhan Bei Ye?

- General! - General...

The quiet moor, the majestic rivers and oceans...

I'm the only one who can save Fifth Brother! I'll do it!

My father said that I must be a man's first love!

All the others will be bad!

Fifth Brother!

Fifth Brother!

My son has yet to return, I do not know when...

The lush Mount Cang, the bright sun.

My son has yet to return, I do not know when...

The lush Mount Cang, the bright sun.

My son has yet to return, I do not know when...

I'm willing to go with you!

Fifth Brother?

If you won't let me follow you...

then why have you come here yourself?

My place is too small.

Divine Physician, please leave.

You know who I'm here for.

I've come to put an end it today.

Yue!

My father is gravely ill.

He's deteriorating day by day.

He rushed here from the capital and can't even get out of bed now.

He's already in such a state.

Can you not be so harsh on him?

He's ill?

I've come at the right time then.

You managed to find me.

Yun, leave us.

I need to speak to Doctor Zong.

I knew you'd come.

It's only now that I understand

neither fame nor authority is important.

I just wish to go on living...

with my Yun.

Let me live.

Let me spend the rest of my life with Yun.

It matters more than anything to me.

Sadly...

I realized this too late.

He's right.

He's very ill.

He only has a few days left.

I have a prescription.

It can save him.

Go get the medicine.

If I wanted to kill him, why would I go to such trouble?

From the capital to Pan City, it's over 2,000 miles.

Did you come all the way here just to say that?

I owe the Xuanyuan family too much.

I just hung in there... to see you one last time.

I'm a sinner in Taiyuan.

I'm also your family's enemy.

Whether you choose to kill me or to spare me, I'm at your disposal.

You're already on your last leg.

Why would I go to so much trouble?

You haven't changed a bit.

But don't forget... I'm not Yun Hen.

Before coming to see you

I sprinkled poison all over my clothes.

If you use your inner force now, you'll only speed up the poisoning.

Stop now.

You can still live for a bit.

You made such an effort to come see me.

So did I.

I have the upper hand now.

Don't you find it strange?

Take a whiff.

Is there a familiar smell?

You sought her out?

Yes, I managed to contact her.

Lady Fei Yan.

In order to see you, I pawned myself off to her.

Do you think you can hurt me with a bit of poison?

Young prince, you're too naive.

Get some sleep.

This is Tiansha's Ice Plum.

I had them picked just for you.

My King, this plum is really unique and tasty.

However...

you specially sent 50,000 elite soldiers all the way out there to pick these.

This...

Isn't that too much of a hassle?

You don't understand.

The Ice Plum only grows where the ice field and grassland meet.

The fruit only grows on the day when there's frost.

If you miss it, you can't have any.

It's such a rare fruit that's precious and hard to find.

What matters more, 50,000 soldiers or the fruit?

Besides, didn't I have it picked just for you?

Thank you, My King.

However...

there are only 300,000 soldiers inside and outside the palace.

150,000 of them are stationed across Tiansha.

My King, you deployed 50,000 away.

So there are only 100,000 left in the palace now.

Should anything go wrong, this--

It's just for a couple of days.

How could there be such a coincidence?

Besides, 100,000 men won't be so easy to defeat either.

What's there to be afraid of?

My King!

My King, there's an auspicious sign!

It's the dragon-shaped cloud.

This is a very auspicious omen!

The dragon-shaped cloud?

You don't know about this.

The Ruins of Heaven's Gate crosses between Heaven and the netherworld.

Whenever a miracle or major event is about to take place

the clouds above the Ruins of Heaven's Gate will transform.

Exactly!

If the dragon-shaped cloud has appeared

I believe a joyous event will soon take place in Tiansha.

My King, it must be because your achievements are so astounding

so the gods are happy for you.

Well said. Well said, indeed.

My King, bad news!

My King, terrible news!

My King! My King!

My King, bad news!

What is it?

Prince Lie... he has fought his way back here!

Since two days ago

Prince Lie had led his army, fighting all the way back from Geya Desert.

On the path here, he has broken through every garrison and fortress.

This report was sent by the garrison at Lun Province.

Judging from the report, Prince Lie is just 100 miles from Pan City!

Useless scum!

How could they attack so rapidly?

There are at least 200,000 garrison guards

between Geya Desert and Lun Province.

How could he...

Unless they all rebelled?

It's said that...

Prince Lie's army appears god-sent.

They are invincible, no one can hold them back.

Where is everyone?

- My King... - Where are they?

Tell the officials to come to the palace right away!

Yes.

Yun.

Listen.

You're my daughter... he will never accept you.

Your compassion will mean nothing to him.

I ran away from the palace to take part in the match at Pan City.

To secretly look for Yue.

You knew...

Didn't you?

You were following me...

not because you were worried about me.

Nor did you come here to take me back.

You just wanted Yue to track you down so you could sneak an attack on him.

I didn't sneak up on him.

This is a match.

Is that why you used me as bait?

Yun...

Do you know how much blood I spilled

in the 30 years of my officialdom?

You'll never know.

After working so hard all these years

and bringing prosperity to Taiyuan

I ended up a criminal that everyone despised.

It's all because of him.

Do you think that's fair?

You killed his entire family.

Is that fair?

Father, it was all retribution for what you did!

I didn't kill Prince Wen Yi.

I only killed my political opponent.

The fight between political opponents is always a fight to the death.

Besides, back then...

you would've died without the Dragonscale Armor.

I did it all for your sake!

Stop using me as an excuse!

You're the one who coveted the throne of Taiyuan!

Yet you claim that I was the cause of your ambitions!

Did you ever ask for my opinion?

Did you?

If it was up to me back then

I'd rather die than sacrifice dozens of lives for the Dragonscale Armor!

Even if everyone else sees me as a sinner

you...

You can't see me as one.

Zhan Bei Ye is still alive?

Fine...

I dare you to rebel against me.

Go hack Grand Consort Jing to death!

Hang her head up on the city gates!

I'll make Zhan Bei Ye take a good look at it!

My King, you mustn't.

Grand Consort Jing is the former king's concubine.

I'm afraid that executing her can't be justified.

Nonsense! Why can't it be justified?

I'll chop off your head too!

I'm utterly loyal to you, My King!

My King.

Grand Consort Jing really can't be killed.

Don't assume that I won't kill you

just because I've taken a liking to you.

My King, not only must you not kill Grand Consort Jing

but you must keep her safe.

Because we can use her to negotiate terms with Prince Lie.

You have a point.

Keep her alive but chop off her hands!

You mustn't!

I mustn't?

Why can't I?

What exactly is your relationship with Zhan Bei Ye?

How dare you talk back to me because of Grand Consort Jing?

My King, Prince Lie is almost right at your doorstep.

It's impossible to make him surrender.

It's also unwise to deploy our army to take him on now.

I'm thinking of dragging his mother out there, right before his eyes

and cutting her up, piece by piece, until she dies.

This way, should Prince Lie refuse to surrender

it would greatly impact his army's morale.

We can then use the opportunity...

Therefore, it isn't the right time to kill Grand Consort Jing.

I like this idea.

- We'll kill-- - My King.

Although the general's idea is brilliant

we must still take the enemies head on.

I wonder if the amount of soldiers in the Gold of Tiansha...

is enough to fend off the rebels?

My King, we should at least wait until reinforcements arrive.

You're right.

How many men and horses do we have?

My King, we originally had ample garrison guards in Pan City.

But you just--

You just deployed 50,000 soldiers to harvest fruit in the east.

Counting the soldiers we have in the city right now...

I'm afraid...

we only have 80,000 elite soldiers left.

Most of them are stationed outside Pan City.

The Gold of Tiansha in the palace is down to just 10,000 men.

Whether or not we can fend off Prince Lie's invasion, I...

I can't say for sure.

What should we do then?

My King, we must find reinforcement as soon as possible.

The closest garrison is 800 miles from Pan City.

Even if they ride overnight

they can only get here tomorrow.

Prince Lie's army is less than 100 miles away from us now.

This...

I'm afraid that water from afar won't help quench the fire nearby.

You're my General of True Valiance.

If you can't come up with a plan, I'll punish you for it!

My King...

I think there's only one person who can save us now.

However...

Who is it?

Who is it?

Hurry up and say it!

That person...

is Crown Prince Wu Ji.

Where is Zong Yue?

Young Master, you're awake.

He went out early this morning.

He didn't say much apart from telling me not to disturb you.

Oh no, something bad is about to happen.

Young Master, please halt.

No... what's wrong?

Is he in danger?

You should ask my mentor then.

He knows everything.

Your mentor?

Young Master Wu Ji.

Yes, take me to him.

Let's go.

Mentor?

Mentor!

Where is he?

I didn't see him leave.

There's no time to lose.

Listen.

When His Highness returns

tell him that Zong Yue went to see Qi Zhen before me.

Ask him to come up with a plan.

Yes.

[Peak of Nothingness, Qiongcang]

Supreme Master.

[Supreme Master Tianji, Hall Master of Changqing Hall]

Wu Ji.

I summoned you seven times.

Yet you kept avoiding me.

I had to resort to this method to get you here.

You're really let me down.

Is there any news of that woman I told you to find?

My King, don't forget

that Crown Prince Wu Ji has 100,000 soldiers.

General.

Are you referring to the 100,000 men in the Alliance Army?

Exactly.

It's the 100,000 men in the Alliance Army 50 miles from here.

They don't belong to any kingdom.

They're stationed there to maintain peace.

It's just that Crown Prince Wu Ji is heir apparent to the five kingdoms.

He has the authority to deploy them during emergencies.

They're also the closest reinforcements we can find.

Tell me.

Are Crown Prince Wu Ji and Zhan Bei Ye conspiring together?

Yes.

Crown Prince Wu Ji is trying to assist Prince Lie to the throne.

But you'd still have me open the city gates

to invite the crown prince and his army in?

What's your motive?

I...

I wish to share your burden, My King.

Explain yourself.

Be it you or Prince Lie

the two princes of Tianquan are just fighting over

bargaining counters in Tiansha's political deals.

Before, Prince Yi kept trying to win you over.

So you chose to support Prince Yi.

So Crown Prince Wu Ji could only support Prince Lie.

All in all, the two princes of Tianquan are fighting for Tiansha's support.

But who sits on the throne of Tiansha doesn't matter to them.

Not to mention that it will be hard for Prince Yi to make a comeback.

My King, why not use this chance to side with Crown Prince Wu Ji?

Then, why would Crown Prince Wu Ji choose to support a rebel

who wishes to overthrow his king?

My King, if you're willing to serve a virtuous master

I'm afraid Crown Prince Wu Ji is your best choice.

And your only choice.

But Crown Prince Wu Ji and I butt heads before.

What should I do to persuade him to help me?

I've served by Crown Prince Wu Ji's side since I was a child.

I know his temperament and personality best.

I'm willing to persuade Crown Prince Wu Ji!

My King!

My King, this is the only solution we have right now.

If His Highness agrees to deploy the army

I'll persuade him to hand military power over to me.

Should he have other ideas in mind, there's nothing he can do.

All right!

Go see Crown Prince Wu Ji right away!

Tell him to kill Zhan Bei Ye, and we can negotiate the rest!

I...

I'm still looking for her.

What have you been doing since you left Qiongcang?

You've been racking your brain, scheming and plotting

just for the position of Tianquan's Crown Prince.

You put all your effort into that.

Are those meaningless titles of the mortal world worth fighting for?

Have you forgotten who you are?

You're the successor of the Leaf of Spiritual Elixir.

The rise and fall of the world is your responsibility.

Between the lives of all living creatures and the life of one woman

do you really need me to tell you which is more important?

I'm incompetent.

I only wish to contribute what I can to the five kingdoms.

If you want peace in the five kingdoms

you have to find that woman as soon as possible!

But I don't understand.

She's just a woman.

How could she possibly cause such great damage?

Why must we sacrifice an innocent life to attain peace for the world?

I believe there must be a solution that's best for both worlds.

Whatever the case, the safest solution is to kill her.

There isn't much time left.

Wu Ji...

Don't blame me for being ruthless.

Supreme Master?

Since you have an important mission to accomplish

you should find that woman before time is up.

If you can't accomplish the mission entrusted to you by your mentor

you have to be punished.

There's no mercy in the code of Qiongcang.

The Six Worldly Blossom is formed by the practice of Qiongcang's disciples.

You acquired 19 of the blossoms at a young age.

That's quite rare.

The Six Worldly Blossom also controls the disciple's vital force.

Whoever disobeys the Supreme Master

will have his or her blossoms plucked off as punishment.

This is to punish you for your past actions.

I'll give you another chance.

Find that woman as soon as possible.

Otherwise...

you won't be spared by the divine code of discipline.

Mentor!

Mentor?

Fu Yao!

Fu Yao!

Fu Yao, you're finally here!

Take a look at Mentor!

- What's wrong? - I don't know!

He's covered in sweat and convulsing!

Doctor Zong happens to be away.

- Bring some water. - Yes.

Wu Ji!

What's wrong?

Tie Cheng said that you're ill.

I'm fine.

I got distracted while practicing so my inner force was in disarray.

What is it?

Really?

Let me see.

I told you, I'm fine.

By the way, how are things going for Zhan Bei Ye so far?

Great news!

It's said that Zhan Bei Ye is charging here with the massive secret army.

They're less than 100 miles from Pan City.

- So soon? - Yes!

I didn't expect them to arrive so soon either.

Geya Desert is so far from here.

Considering the time it takes to fight

they're moving really quickly.

It seems that the secret army is much stronger than we thought.

What about Zhan Nan Cheng?

He fell for my trick.

However...

I'm worried he might resort to desperate means

so we must rescue Grand Consort Jing as soon as possible.

Sure, leave that to me.

Before Zhan Bei Ye attacks the city

we must escort Grand Consort Jing out of the city safely.

Mentor!

Mentor... you've recovered?

When was I unwell?

You should be punished for reporting false information.

Mentor, you must look for Doctor Zong quickly.

Young Master Yun said that before Doctor Zong gets there to see...

Qi...

Qi...

Qi?

Was it Qi Zhen?

Exactly! That's him!

Qi Zhen is in Tiansha?

I'll explain it to you later. I must go to them.

I... I'll go with you!

Have you forgotten that you're the General of True Valiance now?

Before Zhan Bei Ye gets here, you have a more important mission.

All right, I'll report back to Zhan Nan Cheng now

that Crown Prince Wu Ji agreed to lend him his army.

Who told you to come here?

It's all worthwhile if I can die right next to you.

Do you... still trust him?

I just didn't expect him to use Yun

to deal with us.

This is great!

This is great.

Everyone who should be present is here.

It's about time to put an end to it.

Dear Hen.

Don't call me that.

You are my dear Hen.

It's been 18 years.

I taught you to read and write.

I taught you archery and horsemanship.

I saw you as my own child.

You've always been my dear Hen.

You're incorrigible if you still believe what he says.

It seems that our families can't reconcile.

However, Hen...

you and Yun have been engaged since you were children.

I know how you feel about her.

I also believe that you'll never let her down.

I don't have much longer to live.

I'd like to entrust Yun to you.

It would set my mind at ease.

Don't believe him.

What's the point of saying that now?

I'm here to point you in the right direction today.

Kill him.

We can then bury the hatchet, once and for all.

I'll let Yun leave with you.

That's impossible.

Nothing is impossible!

Give it a thought.

Although he's your older brother

you never spent a day together in the past 20 years!

He's practically a stranger who just happens to share your blood!

As for me and Yun...

we are your real family.

Kill him.

You can sit on the throne of Taiyuan with ease then.

You and Yun can be together forever!

How great would that be?

Hen!

He's right.

If you don't kill me, both of us will have to die.

If you kill me...

at least you can survive.

Are you going to force me to become a sinner who kills his brother too?

You just want my brother to kill me

so that he'll live in guilt for the rest of his life.

But at least he'd be alive. Right?

You're right.

At least he'd be alive.

Fine.

I admit defeat.

However much torment you must bear in this lifetime...

it's your punishment for being so softhearted and gullible.

But... you must walk out of here alive today.

No.

That's impossible.

In order to avenge our family, I traded 40 years of my lifespan.

Life itself is a luxury to me.

All this time, you've never once heeded my advice.

Just this once, do as I say.

Kill me.

Please?

Kill me.

That's enough, Yun Hen.

Stop hesitating.

Kill him.

Then it will all come to an end.

Bear this in mind.

You only get one chance.

Do it.

I told you... not to force me.

But what have you two done?

Why do you have to force me?

Did you think that I'd just give up?

It's been 18 years, and still, the dog isn't faithful.

Forget it.

I gave all of myself to Lady Fei Yan.

Just for this moment...

and the powers she bestowed to me.

Kill me first if you must.

Don't worry, I'll go in order of age.
