acting out while traveling.

pot of stress and anxiety.

strangeness in the air

Or strangers on the ground,

This jet stream of raw emotion
is all caught on camera.

- You don't put your hands
on my flight attendant.

I played the reluctant
pilot of a doomed flight

In the classic film airplane,

But in real life, air travel
is just as hair-raising.

- [man] oh.

- So buckle up, we're
about to take off.

In a typical year airlines
report between 100 and 150 cases

Of unruly passenger behavior

But since the start of 2021,

The faa says the
number of outbursts

Has already jumped
to more than 1300.

Air rage is just like
road rage but in the sky.

Like when this woman
suddenly goes ballistic

After an emergency landing
in rochester, minnesota.

The flight originated
from houston

And was bound for minneapolis,

But when a passenger
required medical attention,

The plane made an
unscheduled stop.

That's when this passenger
began storming up the aisle

Yelling profanities and
demanding to get off the plane.

The passenger was
removed from the aircraft

By law enforcement and
the flight continued

To minneapolis an hour later.

No one likes getting
bumped from their flight.

It's a common and
perfectly legal

Annoyance of modern air travel.

Next and infamous incident
when an airline did more

Than just bump one
of its customers.

In 2017, onboard a sold out
from chicago to louisville,

Four passengers were told
they were randomly computer

Selected to give up their
seats for airline employees.

Dr. David dao, a 69 year old
lung specialist from kentucky

Insisted he stay on the plane.

He was scheduled the next day
to oversee a medical clinic

He founded for u.S. Veterans.

Dr. Dao gets on the
phone with the airline

To plead his case, but they
are sticking to their policies.

- No I'm not going,
I am not going.

officer's planning

To physically remove him.

- [doctor] no I don't.

(doctor screams)

- [female passenger] oh my god,
oh my god.

Oh my god, no.

No, this is wrong, oh my god,
look at what you did to him.

being removed shows his head

Getting smashed
into an armrest,

Causing a concussion
and a broken nose

And knocking out two teeth.

Even after being removed,

Dao manages to get
back on the aircraft.

- I have to go home,

he was brought

To a chicago area hospital

And treated for his injuries.

Several aviation security
officers who were involved

Were put on administrative leave

And two were fired
after an investigation.

As a result of the incident,
the airline has discontinued

The use of police in
bumping situations.

- [man] hey, hey, hey, come on.

settled out of court

For an undisclosed amount.

- [woman] oh my god.

- [man] good work guys,
good work, way to go.

- [woman] this is horrible.

- You know, there's a noise

On an eight hour flight
from germany to new jersey,

Passengers endure a
three-year-old child

Expressing his dislike

The weary passengers drag

eardrums towards the exit.

found over 3000 firearms

In passengers' carry on bags
at security checkpoints.

83% of which were loaded.

On any day, at any given time,

You can expect the unexpected
at america's airports.

It's Sunday night and inside
new york's jfk airport

Word suddenly gets out

That there's an active
shooter in terminal eight.

(gunshots fired)

(crowd screams)

Panic spreads quickly.

make a mad dash away

From where they believe
they've heard gunshots.

(crowd screams)

The fear is cranked up as
more people join the stampede.

- Before long travelers
in other terminals

Hear the news and pour
out on the jfk's tarmac.

Police unable to
locate the threat order

Everyone to get their hands up.

(snapshots clicked)

Two terminals are evacuated,
incoming flights suspended,

And the airport is in
total shutdown mode.

After hours of investigation,

It was finally determined
that the frenzy began

When travelers heard
cheering, clapping,

And banging from others in
the terminal who were watching

The olympics on airport tvs.

They misinterpreted
these sounds as gunshots.

All jfk workers received
further training

For evacuation procedures
and crowd management.

When traveling you
have to stay alert

And keep your
belongings within reach

Or someone else might.

It is December 2018 and at
rome's fiumicino airport,

Travelers are passing through
routine security screenings.

The man in the t-shirt
places his items,

Including envelopes
containing $9,000 in cash

Into a security bin.

Agents ask him to go
through security again.

Meanwhile, the
traveler behind him,

This man in the

Places his belongings in a tray.

Instead of waiting, the older
man is told to move forward

To a different scanner.

On another camera, we
see the second man arrive

At the conveyor belt first.

Spotting the envelopes,
the sneaky thief reaches in

And grabs them.

Then casually reaches for his
own belt and sweater.

The victim is now
through security

And frantically
looking for his money.

The $9,000 was meant to pay

For a relative's
medical expenses.

Just a few feet away,

The bandit takes off
with the stolen money.

The man was arrested by
italian border guards

As he tried to board
his flight to russia.

He was sentenced to
one year in prison

And the cash was
returned to the victim.

- It's a cardinal rule
of travel.

Don't leave your bags
unattended in an airport,

Especially if you're traveling
with so-called friends.

This unidentified man is
traveling with his buds

To a bachelor party.

A bottle of water has
been flagged by security.

His friends have strapped
it, to a sex toy.

It's a prank that happens
more often than you'd think.

This group of bros are headed
to a stag weekend in budapest

When they're
stopped by security.

(all laugh)

And the guys aren't
the only ones

Falling victim to this prank.

This unsuspecting woman is
traveling with her friend.

The tsa agent's reaction
is, oh, come on now.

- [woman] I cannot
believe you did that.

(woman laughs)

- [robert] so just remember
the next time you travel,

Keep strangers and friends
away from your stuff.

Flight delays for commercial
airlines are commonplace,

But flight delays for commercial
airlines due to unmanned,

Renegade catering carts
running amuck on the tarmac.

Well, those are pretty rare.

A driverless catering
cart spins out of control

And ground workers at
chicago's o'hare international

Can't get a grip on it.

A case of bottled water had
fallen on the accelerator,

Putting the pedal to the metal

And sending this dervish
cart into tornado mode.

The workers don't
know what to do.

There's no page in the
handbook for carts gone wild.

Meanwhile the possessed
machines circles closer

To that plane's
front landing gear.

A quick thinking worker has
an idea and leaps into action.

Looking at it again the
worker dodges the cart,

Nearly bashed by
the swinging doors

Then runs out of view
and reappears at the helm

Of a ground support vehicle
ramming into the cart

Ending the madness.

American airlines reported no
injuries and say the incident

Caused just one flight to
be delayed by 10 minutes.

As for the alert employee,

He was honored by the airline
for his brave efforts.

The phrase the customer
is always right,

Is a common slogan that
many businesses adhere to,

But maybe not in this situation.

At denver international airport
in colorado in may of 2019,

A traveler begins
recording an argument

Between a fellow passenger
and an airline representative.

- I dare you to cross that line.

- [passenger] ma'am, can you
get him, he's threatening me,

Saying he's going to fight me.

- No, no, no, no, I'm
not threatening you.

- [passenger] yes you are.

- I'm trying to
teach you a lesson.

- [passenger] you need
to get out of my face.

started this heated argument.

When tsa agents asked travelers
to remove items of clothing

To be x-rayed, it's done
for the sake of security,

But what if a traveler
has no insecurities

And takes that request too far?

These two british traveling
companions are going through

Manchester airport's
routine screening process.

As they wait in line,
a security officer

Allegedly tells them to take
off their coats and belts

And place them in the bins.

We all know the drill,
but what unfolds next

Stuns security and
nearby travelers.

the surprise skin show,

A third woman rushes to
cover the undressed pair.

The women have claimed the
security officer commanded

They take off all
their clothing.

Security officials
deny this insisting

The pair were only told to
remove the coats and belts.

The incident ended up in
court where the topless duo

Was found guilty of public
indecency and fined.

the rush they get

From daredevil stunts,

Other travelers prefer
to dive headfirst

Into more romantic endeavors.

After dating for 10 years,

These two are heading
to elope in seattle.

When their flight
crew finds out,

They want in on the action.

The crew turns the plane
into a wedding hall,

A total surprise to the couple
and the other passengers.

- [flight attendant] joanne,
she's the flower girl.

(man humms wedding March)

And here comes the
