He abused me.

We lived together for
six years, two children.

In our last two years of marriage,

he would come home drunk,

and beat me up until he left
me unconscious on the floor.

divorce, I was traumatized.

I didn't want to hear about love.

I thought men would just hurt me.

- Yeah, I understand.

I was putting myself
behind a protective wall.

It was fear of loving
and being loved again.

- Were you able to find love again?

- [Sonya] Yes, Taz.

All these years,

I had my true love in front of me,
