I found it on the beach a few hundred metres from the house.

Could it belong to a homeless?

Yes, you could ask them down at the Foundation.

- Alm... - Almunda.

We have found a bag on the beach. Down at the beach house.

It may belong to a homeless but in the bag was a wallet ...

... belonging to one of the victims.

Could it be somebody here? Have you heard anything?

No, I haven't talked to anybody.

- Do you know anything? - No, I have not heard anything.

Wait a minute.

It was me who was down at the beach house the other night.

I was the one who ran away.

This was in the bag. I found it on the beach.

It must have been thrown from the car.

He was at the scene the same night it burned down.

- Whose bag? - Oskar Elofsson

It is my brother's.

I hadn't heard from him for months ...

... But then he just appeared.

He said he had been at the beach house when it happened.

... And he had lost his bag.

He said that he had gone there, to see if he could sleep there.

Then he remembered only that it exploded and burned.

When he drinks that much ...

... sometimes he remembers nothing.

And then he cannot defend himself.

The sorts like Oskar get blamed for anything and everything.

I know it was not him.

I just wanted ... I wanted to protect him.

Oskar is a fine man.

He's good and credulous.

I didn't want someone to find his bag and find out about the binging.

You understand that we must talk with him?

I have no idea. He is somewhere.

He has no fixed address.

Do you have a photo of him?

I have one here that ...

We have a new suspect. Addict, homeless.

No current address. He's done time for car theft and burglary.

But damn, that's the guy. I saw him down at the harbour just now.

He stood and talked with Peter Adler at his boat.

He seemed to have worked on it.

As I said, he works here sometimes. He comes and goes as he pleases.

He left, as I said, a moment ago. You may take this up with my lawyer.

I will not answer any more questions.

- If you don't need me ... - Of course.

Oskar Elofsson is in the records about Adler and Rittner's businesses.

They have used him as a frontman for some of the companies.

He appears in several investigations.

This guy should have a medal.

The guy with the notepad. He has recorded every single car.

Registration number, date, time, everything.

We'll look up all the cars that took the road that crosses the sea.

Are you serious?

...B 863rd

- It, we. Next. BAZ-160.

It is a farmhouse. Continue.

It is Vibeke. Yes, hi.

We'll pick him up again.

At least four people witnessed he was at the harbour during the murder.

It begins to look like harassment.

Fractured skull and bones It's broken in three places.

No fingerprints, no visible evidence ...

It is impossible to say if it's the same perpetrator.

Why didn't you say anything before? You can't tell whether it is important.

We have been through it in our spare time and gone through every single ...

We could rule out all cars except one.

This car here drove by eight times in three days.

Rented by a U.S. citizen.

The rental company had a copy of his licence.

Bruce Hayden

I sent the licence number to the embassy ...

... to see if he's wanted. But it can take a while.

'Efterlys Rental Cars'

We have to look into the surveillance videos.

Can I take money for some food?

Mom?

Yes. Take whatever you want, sweetheart.

Let's go down to the boat.

Wait here.

It feels like looking for a ghost.

- Something new in the last minutes? - Not much.

They are smart, and have with them the best lawyers.

They were never convicted. But I may have opinions about their morality.

But I'm working on it.

Why would Adler set fire to them when he had so many millions?

- Is there someone he might kill? - Why would that person be there?

What's the damn link between a vagrant, an American ...

... and these rich guys on Gräddhyllan?

I know they know what this is about. I know they know.

- Do not forget Bruce Hayden. - I have not said that ...

... been through it all yet. - You have to look further.

From Hannah. She's sleeping over with friends.

- Thanks for the ride. - You're welcome.

Hannah. Come, or we'll miss out.

Can you stand up?

- Are you going to throw up? - No.

Is it good?

You took my life from me.

Do you think I could forget it?

Huh? Peter?

Nina was innocent.

She had nothing to do with us.

What you have done to her ...

What you have done, Lars

Peter, give me the gun.

You have no right to ask me about anything.

You lost your rights long ago.

Let's talk business.

How much do you ...

... to live?

A million?

Two million? Or should I take everything you own?

What do you think?

How much do you think it's worth, everything that I have lost?

My child ...

... My dignity and identity ...

Can you put a price on it?

No.

You cannot buy your way out of this.

Not this time.

Not this time.

Lars?

I just want to say I loved you.

But you missed one thing.

You did not realize how much Erika and you meant to me.

Why didn't you?

Why not me?

How could you be with the pigs?

How could you let Martin take my place?

I will never forgive you, never.

I do not know what the hell you think!

You were ... You were never a real father to Erika.

You were never a real daddy!

You were never a real father.

Do you hear what I say?

You're lying. You're lying!

Do you recognize me?

My beloved, dear daughter. It's been so long!

You thought I was dead?

They tried but I could protect myself.

But I could never have done it if it weren't for you.

I have dreamt of this moment for so long.

When we both may be together again.

I know people have said everything about me but ...

... it's not true.

- Then, why do they say so? - Because people lie.

They wanted to hurt me so I had to disappear.

Do you understand?

You should not cry. Come on.

I love you. I missed you so much.

Everything should be okay now.

We will get to know each other.

But we cannot do this. We must go away, just you and me.

Do not think about clothes. I'll buy us some on the road.

- I'll just call Mom. - No, listen to me.

- Now I'm here! - I just want to make ...

- I do not want to. I want to go ... - I want you to trust me.

- We must hurry! - Get off me!

I would not!

I got hold of one of the lawyers who defended Adler and Rittner.

They weren't exactly enemies. The story was truly unpleasant.

Lars Christensen: shot: : A gym owner.

Adler and Rittner used him, this Lars Christensen, perfectly

Figurehead Jobs, money in hand ... He signed on every single sheet.

After it all crashed Lars did not want to take the blame ...

... so he decided to tell everything.

A week before trial his car and gym blew up.

And Lars had had a daughter with Kim.

Bruce Hayden was black. He died in the tsunami in 2004.

Lars Christensen fled to Thailand.

He reportedly died in the tsunami.

Where the hell is Kurt?

Erika. She must be the Lars's daughter.

Martinsson. Reinforcement to Harpövägen 8th.

Also an ambulance. Quick!

He will take Erika!

He is probably on the boat now. Help me! He's taking my girl!

Katarina, Hannah is not here. She may be on the boat with Erika.

Damn!

His name is Lars Christensen and was a frontman for Adler and Rittner.

Hell, the boat is gone.

Start the engine!

Wake up. Wake up! Wake up!

Erika, I ... Who the hell is that?

- Who the hell is that? - Hannah.

Go down and sit.

Give me the phone. Give me your cell phone!

Did you call for somebody? I asked if you have called anyone!

No.

Go into the room now!

- Do you see something on the radar? - Nothing so far.

I don't know what to do!

- We have received a distress call. - Contact them.

Who sent the 'mayday' distress call? This is search and rescue.

Help! Open! Open the door!

No response. I have them on radar.

I can increase speed by five knots.

- Can you see if we can go in? - Yes, we can take them in.

- Are they still? - The engine isn't running.

Get the radio.

Wallander here. They are lying still. Right on South Smygehamn.

Okay, we are going.

Lars. We'll start boarding your ship.

We know you have two women onboard.

Go back to the deck and give them life jackets ...

... so that they can make themselves ready to cross here.

- Goddamn it, watch out for the girls! - Lars, we just want to talk to you!

Come up to the deck without your weapons!

It's Erika! No Hannah Hannah!

What the hell is he thinking now?

Shut up!

He took off to the beach with Erika. He has a gun!

Come!

- Do you see him? - No.

They disappeared behind a dune, west of the dinghy.

Cover me when we go in.

Where the hell are they?

What the hell!

Isabelle!

It is cool. Take it easy! Took it in the vest.

Stop!

Pontus!

Goddamn it!

No!

Erika. Stand up, Erika.

Come slowly.

Lars, put the gun down.

Give me the gun.

You are her father. She is your daughter.

No!

Mama!

Erika! Erika!

- Where is Hannah? - She's on the boat.

I have you now, darling. I've got you.

All right, darling.
