Hello.

-Have we received more boxes? "Yes.

Is it the same as before? What good! You have done a good job.

Is it good? Do you have a long way?

This I like. But we could not have ...

-Do you know what time it is? "No, but you certainly informs me.

Where have you been? Have you been with her?

Yikes, you look awful. Switch on.

Can not you help me?

So this, I had to do anyway?

Beware the hair-.-So ...

-What is it?-Nothing.

Hello. Want to come over for a meal and a glass of wine?

There was so much chicken, so ...

You, I sit a bit in the middle of something that I should finish.

I was thinking just a little while. You will eat well in all cases?

"I do not think so, actually." It was a gamble.

Ladies and gentlemen, guests and customers ... it is a pleasure to invite you-

-The Board, or "boards" as we say in English and on the Internet.

Tonight, we present our latest products.

Cider with a taste of the Swedish summer. Cheers.

Welcome.

Yes, yes. Exactly.

Yes, I understand. Sure.

Do you want to remain in the car?

"I can go." No, it's quiet.

Manfred Star, 41 years. This evening's host.

Someone he had business dinner. Guests are German customers.

I do not know if it was some of the guests ...

Here somewhere, I think he was waiting for him.

So he sneaks up behind and cut his throat.

He would go out and call not to disrupt our guests.

After ten minutes I thought it was strange that he waited.

Then I went out to fetch him.

-Do you know who he would call?-No.

-Had he any enemies?-Nobody that I know.

-How long have you been married?-Long.

Some things in our marriage might not be so pleasant.

I would appreciate it if you handled it with a little discretion.

-Holy shit, what fucking day. Mm-.

Home and sleep.

-How are you?-Good.

It is safe, Pontus.

See you tomorrow, then.

Mm. Good night.

I checked up Manfred Star mobile.

He has had frequent contact with a woman on musteriet. Anna.

The left-he, or?-Marriage was probably not the best.

-No, I can stuff all about. "It is our experts.

When you check her out, then.

And dinner, we take another week, huh?

Can you come in and shut the door?

I'm the prosecutor and you're investigating police.

-Right?-Sure.

Then I check it up here with Anna, then.

-She is in here. "You wait here.

-Kurt Wallander.-Anna Kowalski.

Manfred and you had a relationship. Did your husband about it?

-What 's your husband?-Jan Kowalski.

He works hard. He is honest.

But there must be something that does not work, because you were unfaithful.

He drinks? If he you?

Jobs have been here on board? "No, not anymore.

He got a job at a construction firm in Stockholm. Manfred helped him.

It must have suited Manfred good. Then he got up for himself.

Can you say why an employer has a relationship with an employee?

Did you get any benefits ...?

For that I can understand.

This job is certainly nothing you want for life?

Did you get paid? A little money to send home to mom and dad?

Or did you get the promise of a permanent work permit?

I was in love with him, and he was in love with me.

Isabelle? You do not forget, huh? Debriefing.

-Go ahead and get on.-To work Kurt Wallander?

Yes. Here he works, Kurt Wallander.

Anna ... Polish, you know?

She came and told me one thing that she did not dare tell you.

Her husband ... He came to her on the day of Manfred was murdered.

He would talk to Manfred on one thing. Since then he's gone.

-Did she say what they were talking about? "He wanted the job again on the Board.

He was drunk and ggressive as well.

He could be quite violent.

With your knowledge of Manfred ... How would he handle such a thing-

-In view of his relationship with Anna?

I know not really.

Forgive me for asking, but you seem pretty indifferent to-

-That your husband had a relationship on the side.

We were married for seventeen years, and the last few years, we were acting more as well ...

But we ran a business together, and we did good.

And yourself?

What? Well, I've also my needs.

-Why do not you divorced? "We had no prenuptial agreement.

I'm fourth generation on the Star Board.

I love my Musteri. In a divorce had been half-Manfred

And possibly forcing the sale.

You realize you just gave yourself a strong motive for murder?

Yes, it is possible. But it's obviously not me.

Catherine? We have a suspect in the murder of Manfred. January Kowalski.

Jealous Drama. His wife was having an affair with Manfred.

-Where is he now, when? "He disappeared on the murder date.

-Lys him. "Yes.

Action Traumas of the variety you been through-

-Did not differ significantly from other traumas.

In the sense that the subject is not himself see it as a trauma.

I do not repress that I've been shot.

But it did go well.

It is just as serious even if you had the West, it is well with you on?

Well ...

Hello.

How did it go?

I do not know how I'm going to talk about it. I do not think about it.

-Where are we? "I think about it.

5-84 at Singles Cottage road 17th Hire car Singles Cottage road 17th

2-4-50, we'll take it. End. Come on.

Hi-.-It is in there.

-Are you here? "Yes, that's me.

You can wait out that long.

Do you have gloves?

You can take mine.

January Kowalski.

Call Kurt.

Yes, it was Manfred blood.

-Found the murder weapon?-No.

-There 's no blood on his clothes?-Very little.

-What do you thin ?-Grounds, he had.

Suicide was the only way out well.

Hello.

Hello.

-Dinner?-Right.

I was also persuaded not to sit at home.

How's it going?

I'm not in service right now.

You do not know where he is?

It is a bit difficult to think of something else.

Jan Kowalski is dead.-What?

How?

"But he may be the culprit?-I can not answer.

-Do you like your job? "Yes, very.

Do not be jaded by all the blood and misery?

-Yes, you are good at what you do.-How do you know?

I have read on a bit. I learned a lot.

I'll go back to ...

Did you have fun yesterday?

Save dinner with Claire Star until the investigation is complete.

"I saw you at the restaurant." She was there with some others.

In addition, the investigation is complete. The criminal proceedings are at your table.

What the hell ...? That's burglary!

Stefan. Speak after the beep.

Stefan, it's mom. We are at the store. There have been break-ins.

Benjamin?

Benjamin?

Benjamin!

Benjamin!

Hello. The victim's name: Benjamin Wilkes.

There are two things. This was done with great determination.

Long knife. The first blow went straight through the body. Other blow ...

... Literally tore the throat. It is quite similar to the former.

Could it be the same killer?

Yes ... It is not impossible.

Does anybody have copied the first murder nor did it by pure chance?

I do not believe in chance.

Stephen Wilkes?

Stefan?

-Where's Mom?-In Hospital. She is shocked.

"We can drive you there if you want." I did not get hold of her.

I did not arrive. What the hell was I not going there for?

She just said something about a burglary. I wanted to finish here first.

I stood in the middle of a mass ...

You think it was somebody who was waiting?

There were no rough sleepers who broke into and became frightened?

Not that we can see.

Do you know someone who did not like your dad?

It can be something old.

What the hell is this? First Manfred, now dad.

Manfred Star? Did you know him?

He was here sometimes. He knew my father.

According to Nyberg, it is not the same knife, but the murderer may well be the same.

We have blood and shoe prints of Jan, so he probably murdered Mr.

It is possible that there is a connection between the murder-

-But so far I think we are investigating this.

Wilkes was a psychologist before he opened the restaurant with his son.

Yeah, yeah ... He knew the family Star.

Claire Star? Thank you.

It can not be a coincidence. What if I stand in line?

What was your relationship to Benjamin Wilkes?

Yes ... He was an old friend of my father. One among many.

He was here during a period when it was not around.

We had to cancel quite a lot ....

Then people felt bad, and Benjamin took care of some of them.

Just how involved were you in this with the redundancies?

It was Manfred who made. But people were isappointed in me.

I have known many of them since I was a child.

-Do I get the names of those who had to go?-Course.

Thank you.

And if we judge that there is a threat and you will get protection.

Here is a list of redundant from the Board. Check the criminal record.

Probing for you all in the murder of Brad?

How closely-watched you Claire Star?-Sufficient.

I do not think so. She has motivated, have you forgotten that?

-What is it I have missed? "What you seem irritated.

I'm not annoyed. What did I miss?

Have you read the report of Nyberg Kowalskis suicide?

No. I have not had time.

Why not then, if I may ask?

He stands on a chair and hang.

Had he planned it before he killed Manfred, or not?

-What does it ... Is it a suicide?

Here. Egon Dalberg.

He harassed them on board after he had to go.

"He got a restraining order to finish." We look up to him.

And Ylva Gustafson.

She has notified musteriet several times to the European Court.

It may Wallander check. Take the list.

I show the floor late. We begin with the first floor.

-Here 's Hall of Knights. "We have a man on site around the clock.

It feels good. But you keep you away when it will be customers?

-Yes, absolutely.-Fine.

Exactly where is the bedroom.

Hello. We would like to talk to Egon Dalberg. Is he here?

He grew up there.

He worked at the Board that he was 14 years-

-Right up until all that happened a year ago.

He never recovered. He continued to go to work.

You have probably heard of.

He tried to convince himself that well the whole thing was ...

... some kind of mistake.

Then he was just there ... He drank himself to death.

-Thanks. I beg your pardon! "It's okay.

-Was he depressed? "No, he was ashamed. He could not.

He did not think he was worth something. Not that those Poles.

Anyway, he is gone.

-When did he die?-Order three months ago.

Do you know Benjamin Wilkes?

The psychologist where the laid-off got to talk to.

Well ... Egon went there a few times. It was Claire who paid.

She'd been a bad conscience. They had known each other for life.

Sorry.

He has been murdered.

"It was certainly not Egon.-No.

Can I buy you a cup of coffee? "It's just freshly brewed.

"We have to go. And noise is in the oven.

Thank you for your help.

-Please, stay a while.-Another time, perhaps.

Thank you.

Manfred-rope hang with. Is it new?

Yes, in all cases, unused. Cut here. Otaglat.

-Where are the rest?-I do not know.

But if he tied it, would not you find fibers on your hands?

Yes, but it's not because I'm sure.

If he had put up the rope after the murder, we had found blood on it.

He may have washed your hands.

So he attached the rope, drunk, went to the Board and murdered Mr.

Then he took back and hang.

Yes ...

-Hi. Is that dinner again? "I will not harass you more.

You were interested in what Nyberg think about this.

He claims to know-

Kowalski-that his planned suicide before he murdered Mr.

You seem very anxious about this.

When Jan was jealous, though he is now prepared to kill themselves-

-Why, he left nothing behind? Something notice?

-Yes, but ...-murders were carried out in the same way.

There we know that murder similar to each other need not hang together.

The victims knew each other, and what they have in common is, of course board.

There must be someone link. Somebody has something rather than quarrel with.

But we continue to look up those that were redundant.

Can you tell me what happened when you left on board?

The discovery well that it was cheaper by a gang of Poles.

-Or-?-What do you do that?

-Financial Manager. "So when did you know?

I had full transparency. They had not had to dismiss us.

If Manfred had not so expensive habits. As a luxury trip to Paris.

Mauritius.

Spoiled their little girlfriends with expensive gifts.

The books were a joke to end.

I brought it up with Claire. "Did you shoot your" she said.

Then I got fired. There we got them all.

Some had worked there all their lives. Who the hell takes r sponsibility for them?

So you get treated like psycho!

But they hired a psychologist ...?

Claire hired someone know that you could "talk"!

To find out if we thought of meeting them!

Did you do that, then? You went to the psychologist Benjamin Wilkes?

-Why is it interesting, then? "He was murdered yesterday morning.

My God ... If I had wanted to kill somebody-

-I'd have taken the lives of Claire and Manfred for a long time ago!

That psychologist was a sad type who ran their affairs!

We must ask these questions, it's nothing personal.

I want them to be accountable. Is it so damn hard to take?

I may not be on top here, but what the hell ... Here!

Labour Court. EU court. Rejection, rejection, denial!

Read yourself. Do it!

What did you do yesterday?

I'll talk about.

I took care of all bills that I can not pay!

-Do you know who might be behind?-No.

"We hear from us if we have more questions." Sure, make it.

You must take care of you.

I was going to take something to drink. You want something? A glass of wine?

No, it does not. But coffee or something.

"It's somebody in the basement!" Wait here.

They unscrewed the whole way.

Now we have three cars out there. With dogs.

-This is barely three feet? "It was dark!

Then he took hold of me. Or I do not know if it was a he.

-Do you have?-You know how to get rid of that?

Holy shit, now I'm so damn tired.

Do you go to, right?

-Yes. What about you?-Mm.

-Do you take a taxi or go? "I go.

Which way will you ... Or you are going there.

-Thank you for tonight.-Thanks. It was fun.

Mm.

-Sleep well, then. You-by.

Good night.

-See you tomorrow. "Yes, we do.

Andrew Marnell, 58 years.

Single, no children.

Worked as a guard at a mall.

Yes ... Could there be a onnection to board?

Three murders, the same approach.

How the hell has this happened?

-Who was it who found him? "He would be picked up by a colleague.

No one opened, so my colleague went in and found him.

And where is my colleague? "She speaks with lsabelle.

I have to ask these questions.

We may take some shit. Someone once someone has shoplifter growled-

-But it has never been anything serious.

-Did Andrew Benjamin Wilkes? "There is no one he has talked about.

Wilkes has a restaurant in town. Others may tend to go there?

"He was a psychologist before.-Was he in contact with somebody like that?

I think not.

He may have met someone on Ymis. Andreas worked there for -95.

-Ymis, what is it?-Ystad mental institution.

-What he worked as t ere?-Assistant or ...

May I ... Can I go now?

Yes, it's good.

Thank you.

Oh yes, I remember Andrew Marnell.

He was employed as a carer for many years ago.

"We had to fire him.-Why?

He got a lot of complaints on it.

It was theft, bullying and sexual exploitation.

The investigations never got anywhere.

Word against word, and some patients was not so credible.

Get someone to sexanmlningarna from one of Benjamin Wilkes patients?

I can not comment on individual cases.

I know, but you can make an exception.

Andrew is dead.

Really?

Yes ...

No, I'm sorry. I can not help you.

I'm so fucking tired of taking this discussion with you-

-Every single fucking time I is investigating a murder.

Hey! What if we talked like that for everyone?

I'm damn well not everyone.

I'm trying to stop a killer.

I know you do your job, but help me.

If you give me a name, you can save the life of someone.

Lisbet-.-Yes?

Hello. Catherine Ahlsell, investigator.

It is I who is in investigating the murder of your husband.

-Sorry.-Thanks.

What good have you here.

Well, you ... Anna.

"I need to talk to her." She is not here right now.

Naha? Where is she, then?

I am not concerned with what my employees do when they are vacant.

Excuse me, but ... I thought it was solved.

No, unfortunately we are not there yet.

It was unclear how died in January.

He used a nylon rope when he hanged himself. A green.

-Do you like that on board?-Do not you have raid?

-Have you seen such a rope?-Not what I remember.

Andrew Marnell, do you know him? He worked at Ystad mental hospital.

-Do you know someone there? "Why would I do that?

You are not so cooperative. You might not want us to solve it.

You know what? Perhaps it is because you are so terribly rude.

A Beatrice Sahlin may be linked to the murder.

Andreas reported for sexual abuse and had Benjamin as a psychologist.

I'm going there and need backing.

Lingrnd-1 is the a dress.-Okay, we will.

Hello. Are you Beatrice Sahlin?

You? Kurt Wallander, the police.

I would like to talk to you. Is it you who is ...

Kurt!

Send ambulance to Lingrnd first

It is good ...

-Is it good? "Yes, it's quiet.

I hold the position until I am relieved.

-Was it from the station? "Yes.

Have they found anything? Anybody suspicious?

I can not answer that.

No, you must excuse me. It's such a disagreeable situation.

How could you be so misguided? Beatrice Sahlin at large-

And I put all resources to protect Claire Star.

I went out and talked to her.

I am sure that there is something she says.

And I can not let suicide.

In addition, witnesses are still missing from the murder of Wilkes.

T ah you for your time. I will not speak for very long.

There is no danger. Right, Mom?

-Very nice place. Mm-. It was dad who found it.

May I ask ... Did you see anybody glimpse of the person in the house?

No.

Nothing?

Is the name Beatrice Sahlin familiar?

No, I do not know.

-What about you?-No.

We know that Benjamin met her at Ystad mental hospital.

Her name is not well Sahlin?

It's Beatrice. Gudrun and Olof's youngest daughter.

Beatrice Star.

"Beatrice Star"?

Yes. Claire's sister.

-Something new about Beatrice Sahlin?-Still missing.

She is in there.

Why have not you told that you have a sister on the psyche?

She is violent, has been sitting there for 15 years and are just released.

Did you not think I should have learned of it?

-Is she released? "I asked you to mention all the motives.

I should of course have told me.

Someone has taken into your house and attacked you.

Were not you the idea that it could be your sister?

Dad did not want us to talk about Beatrice.

He switched to even out the last name so as not to be associated with her.

We have not been living as if she is!

All the years that have passed have been Beatrice who died for us!

Poor Beatrice ...!

What are you doing down here?

Follow up and keep me company instead.

I guess I have returned to the station.

Excuse me for not told about Beatrice. It was stupid.

It would, of course I have done.

Should it look like suicide victim should be alive.

But perhaps not conscious.

-How much he weighed? -78 Kg.

-Need help?-No, Claire was able to star as ...

The only question is: what is she doing now?

It broke his neck.

Something like this went well it was her.

-Do you think she paid Kowalski? "No, she made him do it.

She told me enough that Manfred had an affair with his wife.

Then she persuaded him, drank him drunk, and hung him.

Otherwise, it had blood on his hands on the rope.

"But that is not right." No, this is the shit.

We will not look at her.

-At home, then? "Yes, it's good.

You yourself, then?

I have probably done the middle of the front.

Add to ... You'll have many hungry eyes?

Um. I think I have become worse and worse judge of character.

Here.

Thank you.

One hour left.

Shooting stars.

There, you see?

Then you ask for something.

-What should you do next? "I do not know. What about you?

Sleep.

Yeah?

What, do you have any better idea?

-The regulations are very hard. "I have not told Wallander.

No, just Wallander is blissfully unaware.

But hell, Pontus ...!

No, we should not ...

Claire ...!

I have been waiting for you! After grilling apples with sugar and cinnamon.

When everyone has gone to bed.

Do you remember what my father became angry when we forgot to turn off the light?

Bea, the police are here.

I wanted to go home when I had come out of there.

Home ...

Thank you Mr removed so that I could come home again.

I love you so much.

It was not you who shut me up with those guys.

They were so disgusting ...!

-You are sick. Have you murdered Benjamin?-No ...!

You do not like having to put up with stuff.

But you saw nothing.

Bea, you did not.

It was not there. Right?

Sit down.

-What do you want? "I want to be here with you.

I want everything to be normal again.

It's not possible. It can not be so. We are not children.

I know you hated my father when he sent me away!

You said it: You said you hated him!

You promised that I would get home again!

You said we would be together again!

Please, do not go! Claire Please, do not go!

I would just add more wood. It's cold shit in here.

Sorry.

It does not matter.

Come on. Shall we grill apples?

Come then.

And so you turn a blind eye, and I'll show you a thing.

Turn around then.

And so you turn a blind eye.

What the hell are you doing? She went straight in front of you.

She did go into the main entrance!

What did you do? Sleep you, right?

I expect a report tomorrow.

Nyberg?

Yes.

When can you be ready?

Give me a couple of hours. - Do you have any tops?

Kurt, I had no choice.

Damn ...!

You ...

I do not know ...

Good night.

To the right here.

You can sit down and wait as long.

The time is 9:35. Kurt Wallander begins questioning of Star-Claire

-Suspect for the murder of Beatrice Sahlin.

"It was self defense, you see it?-You can answer my questions.

You then stood by the fireplace?

-What were you doing there? "I loved the wood.

Suddenly she stood behind me and was gonna kill me.

-How do you know that she wanted to kill you? "She wanted to raise a knife.

-When I defended myself.-With what?

With the poker.

When she stood with her back to you?

She wants to kill you, groping for the knife in his pocket, with his back to you?

How many kinds did you hit?

I do not know, actually. I panicked.

You promised me police protection. What should I do when you do your job?

Why did he kill you?

How absurd that I have to defend a completely terrible experience.

-What were you talking about? "We did not talk.

She spoke to me. She said "it was my turn now".

She crossed the course of Benjamin and neck guard. She was sick.

There are the paper, and you claim that it is me who is ...

"But it was she who was sick.-Sick or not, she was your sister.

We know that she was crying at the table. We have secured tears from the table top.

It must have happened before you were you at the stove.

She attacked me.

And then you ran to the fireplace? "Yes, because I was terrified.

When you acknowledge that you first sat at the table?

She sat at the table. She sat there and said it was "my turn".

And where she sticks his hand into his pocket knife for?

Which pocket?

Right or left? Things remembered.

You hit her with the poker from the back of his head.

Then when she is lying on the floor, adding five more you type.

Since we are not talking self-defense, now we're talking murder.

Why did you kill her? Did she know something that you wanted to hide?

So Claire ....

I go through Kowalskis suicide again and again.

And I'm good at what I do.

You just say a lot of things that you do not have a clue.

I have never been so badly treated.

Come on now. Make it easy for you.

You murdered Beatrice Sahlin-

, And Jan Kowalski, who killed Manfred.

He threatened to take everything away from you? Selling?

Sharing Board with Anna?

With Jan, it was no problem. Him could steer you to where you wanted.

Kurt Wallander takes five minutes break in the hearing of Claire Star.
