In the year 1977,
President E. Marcos authored Presidential Decree No.1016
which created the Integrated Civilian Home Defense Unit
or more popularly known as CHDF.
More than 70,000 civilians were armed and given power
to help quell the so-called rebellious deeds of the Communist Party of the Philippines
and the secessionism of the Moro Filipinos in Mindanao.
The CHDF, which is a para-military force,
had been one of the causes
of a vast human rights violations during the Martial Law period.
This tale, which happened in 1979,
in a remote village in Southern Philippines,
is based on a story of real people and real events.
They are my friends.
And this is a tribute and a memoriam to them.
Is there anything left to do?
What else do they need?
What else should we do?
Use your mind.
Use your head.
Don’t give in to the masses' sensibilities.
Is there anything left to do?
What else do they need?
What else should we do?
Use your mind.
Use your head.
Don’t give in to the masses' sensibilities.
Is there anything left to do?
What else do they need?
What else should we do?
Use your mind.
Use your head.
Don’t give in to the masses' sensibilities.
They want certainty.
They don’t want uncertainty.
Let’s use the Witch.
Let’s use the Vampire.
Let’s use the Tikbalang.
Let’s create a new belief.
Let’s create a new church for them.
They want certainty.
They don’t want uncertainty.
Let’s use the Witch.
Let’s use the Vampire.
Let’s use the Tikbalang.
Let’s create a new belief.
Let’s create a new church for them.
They want certainty!
They don’t want uncertainty!
Let’s use the Witch!
Let’s use the Vampire!
Let’s use the Tikbalang!
Let’s create a new belief.
Let’s create a new church for them.
They want certainty.
They don’t want uncertainty!
Let’s use the Owl!
Let’s use the Wise Man!
Let’s use the Chairman Narciso!
Let’s create a new belief!
Let’s create a new church for them!
They want certainty!
They don’t want uncertainty!
Let’s use the Owl!
Let’s use the Wise Man!
Let’s use the Chairman Narciso!
Let’s create a new belief.
Let’s create a new church for them!
I AM A REBEL. DO NOT IMITATE ME.
What could have happened?
Why is he tied-up?
Who could have killed him?
Why is there a spur?
He has bite in his mouth.
He has a scratch on his cheek.
There’s a dead duck.
A sign of the devil!
There’s a dead duck.
Sign of the devil.
He’s just there-
The devil’s at your side.
I think it’s the Owl.
That evil Owl.
Beware with that Owl!
With that Sinta Owl.
He's a vampire's victim.
He's a vampire's victim!
He's a vampire's victim.
He's a vampire's victim!
If the world will lose its colors,
what would I do with spring?
What would I do with summer?
I need to wake up from you.
If the world will lose light,
what would I do with mornings?
What would I do with dusk?
I need to retreat with you.
If the world loses melody,
what would I do with rain?
What would I do with lullabies?
I need to be born from you.
If the world loses heart,
what would I do with pain?
What would I do with compassion?
I need to be free from you.
Thank you, everyone.
Let us now listen to the verses of Hugo Haniway!
Good evening, everyone.
While walking earlier,
I saw two men riding a motorcycle.
It made me nervous.
So I immediately walked into a nearby alley.
I stepped on something slimy.
I fell down of course,
down at the trash bin.
Until now, my back still hurts.
I’ll get a massage later from Old Tinong of Barrio Tumbangpreso.
I picked this up from the trash bin where I fell.
I will be reading this.
To the one who will pick this poor paper up:
Are you one with us?
A friend,
a chatmate, a classmate,
or a groupmate?
Sports the same hairdo and jacket like everyone else?
Those who are proud and bickering?
Those who act like kings
and act like they own this country?
Are you also a part
of their adulterous ways -
dancing and rejoicing with them?
With making a fool
out of your innocent countrymen?
Are you also a part of those who are just silent
and pretends not to see things?
While out in the streets,
predators are out in the open,
scaring, slaying your helpless countrymen?
And I saw you in your Barong,
shaking hands, and taking photos with him.
You’re wearing the same scent,
pomade, attitude, and even the way he speaks.
You rationalize well now with his cruelty.
You used to be out in the streets,
angry, shouting,
with closed fist,
resisting and opposing
with any human rights violation.
And for every excess done to our motherland, you passionately said, No!
I won't give in to you!
Why are you silent this time,
and as gentle as a puppy?
I wonder how the ass you’re licking tastes like?
I can hear your gentle licking even in my nightmares,
and your feasts in the palace and the plaza don't seem to end.
And your travels at the fields and outside the country are becoming frequent.
There's no mystery left in your joy and under your shirt.
There’s almost grease with the thickness of oil in your mouth.
Psychedelia is mixing
and playing in those eyes of yours.
The juice of talampunay might be overflowing.
Ah!
The murder of the masses is easy to cover up
especially if the masses are the very ones rejoicing with it.
The punch is really high;
the punch of the drug of the demagogue.
Are you already one with them?
Even when they are revising history to their own versions?
Are you just agreeing
yet you don’t mind?
Even though they bend the rules
and they turn the wrong to right?
Did I just hear you say,
call this a compromise,
but at least, my pocket is full?
Will you just be content with some arrogant boxer,
a pretentious comedian,
and another arrogant actor to rule your sleeping country?
Beware -
of sweet promises,
which seem to be filled with love.
Beware -
with words promising certainty
and infinite freedom.
Beware,
beware -
with prophets promising certainty
and ever afters.
Friend -
certainty is a dead-end
and you are at the end,
no steps left,
meaning,
death.
I will tell you all a story.
This is the story of the last Filipino.
Time came once,
when there’s just one Filipino
living on the only island left
from the vanishing archipelago.
He lived in peace on a beautiful field
and all his needs
were provided by nature.
His days are filled with songs and poems,
and of blessings and mystery.
But one day,
a storm came,
which brought floods in the fields.
He went up on a mountain.
But the flooding continued and reached the mountains.
The storm didn't stop
and continued ravaging the mountain.
He went to the top of the highest mountain
but the storm became even stronger
and it flooded the mountain.
So he was toppled by it and had nowhere to go.
He looked up
and he saw a cloud.
He tried to reach the cloud
while slowly being taken by the water.
Thank you.
Hugo Haniway!
My dear Dr. Lorena Haniway,
I want to remind you of my argument as to why I'm against your decision to go and serve in Barrio Ginto.
Not only it's very far but it's also very dangerous.
But I know that there's no stopping you.
There's nothing greater for you than to serve the people in need of your care.
I am proud of you but at the same time, I am scared.
Worriedly, Mr. Hugo Haniway.
Hang on, Sir. We're nearly there.
We're nearly there.
A few more steps.
Just put it there.
- Where, Doctor? - Here.
Careful, Sir. Go ahead.
Careful.
- How about this, Doctor? - Put it there.
- And this? - Here.
Okay, let's go.
Thank you.
VILLAGE CLINIC
Here's your medicine.
Have her drink once a day, okay?
Inhale, exhale.
Inhale.
Exhale.
I have a disease.
Disease of this country.
This country has a disease.
One imaginary disease.
I have a disease.
A critical disease.
A critical question is:
Why are you here?
You have a disease.
Disease of this country.
You're a disease of this country.
One imaginary disease.
You have a disease.
A critical disease.
A critical question is:
Why are you here?
Why are you here?
Why are you here?
Why are you here?
Why are you here?
Why are you here?
Why are you here?
Why are you here?
Why are you here?
I am a doctor.
A volunteer doctor.
Serving the country.
Serving the poor!
If you are sick,
an internal disease
or colds of the youth
expect me to be there!
A cure for this town.
A cure for this town.
A cure for this town.
A cure for this town.
- A cure for this town. - A disease of this country.
- A cure for this town. - A disease of this country.

I am your friend
and I will stick with you.
Through all these changes
with everyone's change!
I am a soldier!
I am a soldier!
Protectors of the people!
Guardians of the people!
I am a soldier!
I am a leader!
My plan is
to bring change!
I am a soldier, aaah!
Every rain drop
that I see
reminds me of our moments together.
Feels like you're always here with me.
Every song of the bird,
that I hear.
Your voices echoing.
Bits of heaven slowly vanishing.
This forest isn't some paradise
and I won't just keep silent here.
I'm not hiding at all.
I am seeking for justice.
I am only fighting for truth.
The secrets of the trees.
The corners ghosts haunt.
Shadows lurking,
in fortresses and doors.
The tragedy of your death
started all the violence here.
This forest isn't some paradise
and I won't just keep silent here.
I'm not hiding at all!
I am only fighting for truth!
I am only seeking for justice.
Things are doing great.
The masses are biting it.
We are now the priests.
We are now the kings!
The howling of the woman,
is the sound of the balete tree.
The screaming of the pest.
The cigar of the Kapre.
Woo, woo, woo, Owl!
Woo, woo, woo, Owl!
Woo, woo, woo, Owl!
Woo, woo, woo, Owl!
Things are doing great!
Dear Hugo, There's food inside the fridge.
Drink some Vitamin C.
And don't forget to say goodbye when you leave.
Angelita.
Farewell by Hugo Haniway.
The mountain is hugged by the immaculate sky.
Very distant muse.
The mountain is hugged
By the immaculate sky.
Very distant muse.
Touch of the raindrop.
Your shadow just passing by,
can be clearly seen.
Beating of the rain.
A concealed sorrow within
waiting to be heard.
Echo of the night.
You are one lost leaf sailing
in my very dream.
A rose on the wall.
A city slowly crawling.
Sorrowful longing.
A spot on the moon.
Your figure carefully sketched
in my universe.
Sorrow of the wind.
Fear with the winter season.
Sudden departure.
A golden season
of a borrowed destiny.
A farewell.
Farewell.
Farewell...
If the world will lose light,
what would I do with mornings?
What would I do with summer?
I need to retreat with you.
If the world will lose its colors,
what would I do with spring?
What would I do with dusk?
I need to wake up from you.

What would I do with lullabies?
I need to be born from you.
If the world loses heart,
what would I do with pain?
What would I do with compassion?
I need to be free from you.
Tell me your lies later.
It’s too early for that.
Let me still play around
with your hair on my shoulder.
Somehow,
my dream comes true.
Though I know you are pretending
I will let it be.
Somehow, you are here
playing with me,
so that my dream
would remain true.
I hope you'll remember
that I am here, here for you.
I hope you'll remember
that I am here, here for you.
I hope you'll remember
that I am here, here for you.
I hope you'll remember.
That I am here.
Here for you.
I am a soldier!
I am your police!
I am armed!
I promised!
My plan is to bring change!
I am armed, aah!
I am a soldier!
I am your police!
I am armed!
I promised!
My plan is to bring change!
I am armed, aah!
This is the town of Ginto
where people are now confused.
Predators are in hiding.
Spreading lies and myths.
Their kind are the ones ruling here.
Their leader being a fool and a chameleon.
Heaven and earth are anything but paradise.
This world offers no certainty.
Men never learn.
They still believe in ghosts
and lies become true.
Don’t let yourselves be fooled.
Don’t follow that cult.
Hey! Start thinking about it!
Don’t let things silence you.
Don’t be afraid with the ghost.
Created by a fool and a chameleon.
Heaven and earth are anything but paradise.
This world offers no certainty.
Men never learn.
They still believe in ghosts
and lies become true.
Heaven and earth…
are anything but…
paradise…
This life has no certainty.
Men never learn.
They still believe in ghosts
and lies become true.
Heaven and earth
are anything but paradise.
This life has no certainty.
Men never learn.
They still believe in ghosts.
And lies
become true.
What I’m doing here is lawful.
But what to you, my friend, is lawful?
What I’m doing here is righteous.
But what to you, my friend, is righteous?
You know, sometimes, the law can be harsh.
But we can’t do anything about it because, it’s the law.
But you shouldn’t be the law, my friend.
And you’re twisting justice if you are the law.
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
Ah, your kind indeed has little knowledge of the law.
But it just doesn’t confine itself to justice.
Sometimes, its point is only for order.
That every individual and society should follow.
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
What you're doing is never right.
If man is afraid and has lost trust.
It isn't order when you use guns and bullets.
It isn't order if man isn’t free.
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
How many were killed by your bullets?
It’s a just my job, my friend, my job.
How many got lost with your bullets?
It’s a just my job, my friend, my job.
Why are you believing Narciso?
Because he loves this town, just like you.
Don’t destroy this town!
Narciso loves this town my friend, just like you do!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
How are you?
Where could you be now?
Where are you spending the night?
How is your day?
What are you doing?
Are you walking by the lake?
Are you writing a song?
How are you?
What's new with you?
What have you been seeing?
What are you thinking?
What's happening to you?
Are you writing a new novel?
Are you creating a new poem?
How are you?
Visit me, please.
Do not ever stray.
Do not ever give up.
Let's give no room to compromise.
While we can still fight.
While our hearts are still full.
Come now.
Please...
Please...
Please be with me...
Good morning, Ma'am!
Have you seen Aling Sinta?
How are you?
How are you, Aling Sinta?
I am worried about you.
I thought you were gone.
I heard your husband and child were killed.
March has ended.
But justice hasn’t been given to them yet.
What our leader is doing is righteous.
We can’t do anything if there were victims.
What happened to your beloved child and husband
last March is a sad tragedy.
What Chairman Narciso is doing is right.
We can’t do anything if there were victims.
Your husband was a rebel and a carrier of drugs.
We can’t do anything if your child had been dragged into it.
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
Aling Sinta’s husband was a farmer.
He lived in peace, an ideal husband and father.
Your accusations against him are not true.
You're merciless for dragging in the kid!
Shut up and don’t be stupid!
Don’t meddle and shut your mouth up!
You’re just a foreigner who set up a clinic here.
Don’t meddle or your beauty might go to waste.
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
I am here to help the people.
I am a volunteer doctor.
What’s happening in Ginto isn’t right anymore.
What happened last March is not right!
Just shut your mouth up!
We know whom you’re connected with.
If what we believe is true,
what happened last March will happen once more.
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
Wow! What Chairman Narciso said is right!
What Chairman Narciso is doing is right!
Wow! Wow! Wow! What Chairman Narciso is saying is right.
Our country must be saved from devils!
Wow! You heard his beautiful speech!
You heard his beautiful words.
Wow! Wow! Wow! It’s so touching, I am speechless!
Hey! Leave now and get out!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
And as you step onto the street,
smile
and greet a friend.
Look around you;
Look at the plants, feel the air and hear the noise.
So you will feel once more that you are a human being.
So you can face once more,
your humanity.
And your soul.
If the world loses heart,
what would I do with pain?
What would I do with compassion?
I need to be free from you.
If you can't see anything.
And you’re losing trust.
You’re losing hope.
Nothing seems clear.
Just approach me. I’ll be a friend who’ll help you.
Where have you been, my friend?
We have all been waiting for you.
Your expertise is going to waste.
You have once been a great teacher.
We do understand your situation.
But you are a poet, my friend!
Don’t be won over,
by the depths of your sorrow.
If your horizon is getting dark.
And you can’t feel anything.
Her memory is haunting you.
And your heart is about to explode.
Come, my friend.
I’ll be a friend you can depend on.
Listen to what I have to say.
I am true to my word.
I've always been here.
I used to be like you sometime ago.
This world's spectrum is vast.
You just have to face and understand
the depths of your sorrow.
What are you doing?
Don’t feel sorry for me!
You’re wasting your time.
I can’t reciprocate your feelings for me.
Don’t be some fool!
You don’t need me.
I am not here,
to beg.
I just want you to realize,
you’re becoming a false poet.
Coward with the truth.
And your soul is diminishing.
Go forth to Ginto!
Face the truth!
- Lorena is waiting there for you. - Don’t mention Lorena’s name!
Don’t ever mention that!
Leave me alone,
in this condition.
Don’t show up again!
I don’t need you.
I hope the old you would
come back once more.
I know it will eventually come back.
That old, noble self.
Hugo, you are a great man!
We are all waiting for you.
You don’t need
someone like me.
You’re an ideal woman.
Your heart isn’t that of a human.
Your dream will fail.
Man is never true.
I am embarrassed,
with my cruelty with you.
I don’t have a heart to face you.
My promise isn’t true.
I am asking your forgiveness.
I’m saying goodbye.
I hope you open your mind.
Your dream would only fail.
I hope you open your mind.
Your dream would only vanish.
- And please always remember - I hope you open up your mind
- I am here, here for you. - your dream will only fail.
- And please always remember - I hope you open up your mind
- I am here, - your dream
- here for you. - Will only fail.
Don’t say a word.
Shut your mouth up.
Don’t say a word.
Don’t be a fool!
Report her.
Report her,
as someone supporting
the rotten rebels
and the drugs.
You will have a reward.
A big amount for a reward.
A big amount of money.
You will be happy.
You'll be rejoicing.
You'll be rejoicing.
You'll be rejoicing.
You'll be rejoicing
Report her,
as someone supporting
the rotten rebels
and the drugs.
You will have a reward.
A big amount for a reward.
A big amount of money.
You will be happy.
You'll be rejoicing.
You'll be rejoicing.
You'll be rejoicing.
You'll be rejoicing.
Report her.
Report her!
She’s a mother.
And just like the others,
she’s sitting by the window
waiting for her son.
Porfirio is a young man
who just got into college.
His only dream is
to finish his degree.
Must be stuck in traffic.
She often tells herself.
Whenever her son
is not home for dinner yet.
Her beloved husband,
died early on.
She struggled to provide,
for her and her son.
Aling Maria, Aling Maria.
Great are your kind in this world.
"Take care, son" She’d always tell him.
Whenever her son
left for school.
What Aling Maria didn’t know,
Porfirio's an active participant
at school and in the streets,
marching at the rallies.
When Porifirio joined
a rally one day,
it turned into a riot
and he was abducted.
Aling Maria
was waiting by the window.
Last she heard,
Porfirio was missing.
Aling Maria, Aling Maria.
Your only hope
has vanished.
Aling Maria, O, Aling Maria.
Your only hope
is now among the missing.
She’s a mother.
And just like others,
she’s sitting by the window
waiting for her son.
She’s a mother.
And just like the others,
she lost her mind
with her unspeakable sorrow.
She’s a mother.
And just like the others,
she’s sitting by the window
waiting for the disappeared.
She’s a mother.
And just like the others,
she’s sitting by the window
waiting for the disappeared.
Aling Maria, O, Aling Maria.
Don't you worry.
We shall honor his memory.
Aling Maria, O, Aling Maria.
You are a lucky mother.
Your son is a great human being.
Porfirio?
Porfirio?
Porfirio?
One day, you’ll wake up
and you’ll find no one’s there.
Not even a friend waiting.
You’re longing in your solitude.
Playing in your thoughts,
the road you once took.
Steps you must have missed
and a dream unfulfilled.
Step out onto the streets
and there they are, waiting.
Shadows lurking.
Ghosts of your past.
You’ve been struggling each day.
Crawling from obscurity.
Fighting against
the weakness of your consciousness.
When you’re completely exhausted
and completely drowned by time.
You’re hoping all of your burdens
would all just go away.
Wishing the storm would subside
and get drifted away by rain.
Embrace the emptiness.
Do not fear solitude.
And in the end, the only thing you'll remember
is a face bowing down.
One name fading away,
and one love that will never flourish.
And in the end, the only thing you’ll remember
is one fading picture.
One name fading away,
and one love that will never flourish.
And in the end, the only thing you’ll remember
are names slowly being forgotten.
Shadows diminishing,
from the world you will leave behind.
This is the town of Ginto.
Where people are now confused.
Predators are in hiding.
Spreading lies and myths.
Their kind are the ones ruling here.
Their leader being a fool and a chameleon.
Heaven and earth are anything but paradise.
This world offers no certainty.
Men never learn.
They still believe in ghosts,
and lies become true.
Don’t let yourselves be fooled.
Don’t follow that cult.
Hey! Think about it!
Don't let things silence you.
Don’t be afraid with the ghost
created by a fool and a chameleon.
Heaven and earth are anything but paradise.
This world offers no certainty.
Men never learn.
They still believe in cults.
And lies become truth.
The secrets of the trees.
The corners ghosts haunt.
Shadows lurking
in fortresses and doors.
The tragedy that happened last March
started all the violence here.
This forest isn't some paradise,
and I won't just keep silent here.
I'm not hiding at all.
You accuse me of being the Devil.
You accuse me of being an Owl.
I am only fighting for truth.
As the sun rises once more,
go forth to the East, my friend.
Follow the rainbow,
by the colorful light in the East.
Start your life over again.
Start your life over again.
As the sun rises once more,
go forth to the East,
my friend.
Follow the rainbow,
by the colorful light in the East.
Start over
and face it yet again.
The search for your beloved one.
And as you step at the street,
smile
and greet a friend.
Look around you;
look at the plants, feel the air and hear the noise!
So you can face once more
your humanity.
So you're able to face once more
your humanity.
And your soul.
And when you reach the other side,
Beware.
Be sensitive, my friend
The smile of the person you will meet
may be an invite or poison.
Why are you here?
Let me know the reason.
Tell me the truth.
The reason why you're here!
And when you reach the other side.
Beware!
Be sensitive, my friend.
The smile of the person you'll meet
may be an invite or poison.
Why are you here?
Let me know the reason.
Tell me the truth.
The reason why you're here.
Why are you here?
Tell me the truth.
Tell me the truth.
The reason why you're here.
Why are you here?
Tell me the truth.
The reason why you're here.
Tell me the truth.
Why are you here?
Tell me the truth.
The reason why you're here.
Tell me the truth.

It’s dark here.
The ground is cold.
I can’t see anything.
I can’t breathe.
I have no one
but the ground.
The forest. The noise of silence.
I hope time will come,
when the world will lighten
and open up and I will be free.
I hope that time will come,
when my motherland will rise
and wake up and it will be freed.
I am now a shadow.
I am now a ghost.
I am floating.
I am buried deep.
I am dreaming.
I am searching.
I am enraged.
I am waiting.
I hope time will come,
when the world will lighten
and open up and I will be free.
I hope that time will come,
when my motherland will rise
and wake up
and it will be freed.
I hope time will come,
when the world will lighten
and open up and I will be free.
I hope that time will come,
when my motherland will rise
and wake up and it will be freed.
It’s dark here.
The ground is cold.
I have no one.
I can’t breathe.
Mother’s sweet daughter.
This world hasn’t been fair to you.
Took all your body up
and rested with nature.
But your moments here
will live in our hearts and minds.
Father’s beloved.
The space in our house.
The laughters are concealed
as the forest eats them all up.
Wherever you may be.
You will remain in our hearts and minds.
Sometimes, I’m wishing
that this pain would subside.
But you are like a plant
and your memories are the seedling.
And the beauty and kindness you left
will flourish.
Lorena weaving.
The river has a new harvest
and when it flows, it bears
touch of your lullabies.
Time will come,
when this longing will be replaced by joy.
Sometimes, I’m wishing
that this pain would subside.
But you are like a plant
and your memories are the seedling.
And the beauty and kindness you left,
will flourish.
The falling of the leaves.
The crashing of the waves.
When will you arise
from these times?
The air has poison.
Your country is being challenged.
When are you rising up
at these times?
Where could you be, child of the motherland?
Wake up, oh, child of the motherland!
The purpose you sworn by
from the hymns of yesterday.
When will you be free from these times?
Where could you be, child of the motherland?
Wake up, oh, child of the motherland!
Where could you be, child of the motherland?
Wake up, oh, child of the motherland!
The falling of the leaves.
The crashing of the waves.
When will you be free…
from these times.
It was March when it happened,
The tragedy. Three years has gone by.
My farmer husband
and my only son.
They were abducted, dragged and dumped on the road.
And in the darkness of my world,
I can only embrace
the hope in my heart.
Your wife, Lorena, was a great human being.
She was tireless.
She lived with us and helped unconditionally.
She served the masses,
and she fought commitedly.
She was abducted, raped,
and she unfortunately disappeared.
And in the darkness of waiting,
I can only embrace
the hope in my heart.
I became very weak.
I was lost.
Numbed.
My conduct was inexcusable.
I was selfish. Wallowed in self-pity.
But I am now here.
I am ready now. Ready to confront fate.
And in this perpetual waiting,
I can only embrace
the hope that's left in my heart.
And in my endless search,
I can only embrace
the hope that's left in my heart.
And in the darkness of our world,
our refuge is
the hope in our hearts.
And in the darkness of our world,
the only hope shall be
our heart's persistence.
And in the darkness of our world,
the only hope is
our heart's strength.
I can see you from the eye of the storm.
In a swirl and in a current
of the infinity of your space.
I can see you in hell.
Flaming
and imprisoned
in the belly and the house of a monster!
I can see you,
in quicksand,
drowning.
Darkness of your past eating you up.
I can see you in a flame,
being burnt.
Vanishing
from the emptiness of your present self.
I can see you in a tidal wave.
Being washed away
from the belly of your sea.
I can see you from the quakes.
Getting crushed,
smashed by your fragile self.
I can see you from the eye of the storm.
In a swirl
of the infinity of your space.
I can see you in hell.
Flaming
and imprisoned
in the house of the monster!
The falling of the leaves.
The crashing of the waves.
When will you arise?
The air has poison!
Your country is being challenged!
When are you rising up

Wake up, oh, child of the motherland!
I am you, you are me. You are him, he is me.
O, we are one!
You are him, he is you. I am he, you are me.
O, we are one!
I am you, you are me. You are him, he is me.
O, we are one!
You are him, he is you. I am he, you are me.
O, we are one!
Hear me, people!
Listen to what I say!
Hear me, people!
Listen to what I say!
All of you!
Follow what I’m saying!
So there would be order!
I am you, you are me. You are him, he is me.
O, we are one!
You are him, he is you. I am he, you are me.
O, we are one!
I am you, you are me. You are him, he is me.
O, we are one!

O, we are one!

Listen to what I say!
Hear me, people!
Listen to what I say!
All of you!
Follow what I’m saying!
So there would be peace!
The secret of the trees.
The corners ghosts haunt.
Shadows lurking
in fortresses and doors!
The tragedy that March
started all the violence and hell here!
This forest isn't some paradise
and I won't just keep silent here!
I will no longer hide!
I am only seeking for truth!
I am only fighting for justice!
Heaven and earth are anything but paradise
and I won't just keep silent here!
You refer to me as the Owl!
You refer to me as the Devil!
I am only fighting for justice!
Heaven and earth are anything but paradise!
You are spreading evil here!
You are propagating myths!
You are propagating ghosts stories!
You turn lies into truth!
Woo, woo, woo, Owl!
Woo, woo, woo, Owl!
Woo, woo, woo, Owl!
Wishing the storm would subside
and get drifted away by rain.
Embrace the emptiness.
Do not fear solitude.
And in the end, the only thing you'll remember.
Is one face bowing.
One name fading away.
And one love that will never flourish.
And in the end, the only thing you'll remember.
Is one fading picture.
One name fading away.
And one love that will never flourish.
And in the end, the only thing you'll remember.
Shadows diminishing.
Names slowly being forgotten
from the world you will leave behind.
Good evening to you, great poet.
Good evening to you, foolish poet.
Good evening to you, great poet.
Good evening to you, badass poet.
I was able to read some of your masterpieces.
You are wise and smart.
You have a different taste.
But your words and verses
are useless in a dumb country.
La, La, La, La.
La, La, La. La, La, aah…
La, La, La, La.
La, La, La. La, La, La.
Go ahead and do your thing.
But time will come, the masses will wake up.
They won’t forever be dumb.
One day, they’ll realize your false rhetorics.
History is full of demagogues like Narciso.
But the country will be rinsed of a drug like him.
You guys are here because of compromisers.
And you are playing around with the helpless masses.
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
The masses you talk about are those who would kill you.
They believe you’re the one who killed the Wise Man, the Snake and the Owl.
The masses you talk about are those who would kill you.
They truly love, and are very in love with Narciso.
They truly love, and are very in love with Narciso.
He is their Messiah, their new god.
They truly love, and are super in love with Narciso!
They believe everything he says is true.
La, La, La, La.
La, La, La. La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
I am here to offer my life.
I am here to hear the truth.
I am here to offer my life.
I am here to hear the truth.
Tell me the truth.
What did you do to my Lorena?
No more, no less!
Tell me all of it.
How and where is my sweet Lorena?
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
In front of you, I will shoot my head!
Just tell me, tell me the truth!
In front of you, my skull will explode!
Just tell me, tell me the truth!
In front of you, I will shoot my head!
Just tell me, tell me the truth!
In front of you, my skull will explode!
Just tell me, tell me the truth!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, aah!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, La!
La, La, La, La!
La, La, La! La, La, aah!
This is where we buried your beloved wife.
One rainy morning after a night of sumptuous rape.
So sorry, the wild boars and rats tried to open her grave.
So sorry, so many flies visited her.
