[The Blooms at RUYI Pavilion]

[Episode 14]

[Dong Fang Li]

A fight happened here

What are you doing?

Your Highness

It smells of sulphur powder inside

It's faint

Someone must've cleaned it

This is the cloth of Mr Dong's garment

And the sulphur powder

Here is where the trap was laid

Mr Dong was here

If he wanted to attack you,

why did he stop after one hit?

If he wasn't attacking you,

then why...

Look

This blood stain on the rock

This explains that

Mr Dong was not alone

Perhaps...

He wanted to rescue you

But he was injured instead

So he might have been threatened too

Aside from the cloth,

I heard that

Uncle's only son,

Dong Wen,

was also kidnapped before

Did you find out who did it?

No

Father

I'm not defending uncle

I just wanted to

find the truth of the case

Dong Fang Li killed himself for his own greed

I reminded you before

When you were assigned as the Commander of the Imperial Guards,

you must obtain every evidence for the cases you're investigating

Have you forgotten?

No, I didn't

Logically,

you should be the first to discover this case

But Mao'er got ahead of you

If not,

Dong Fang Li wouldn't have to die

The culprit would also be found

You

should go back and repent on yourself

Yes

Rong'er

Master

It's so late now

What are you doing here?

Were you scolded by Mr Fu

for secretly leaving the capital?

I can't sleep

Master

Did you know Mr Dong killed himself?

From what happened with the peony headpiece,

I don't think Mr Dong is a villain

But there's concrete evidence and he killed himself too

I really don't understand

Rong'er

Not everything in this world is just black and white

It's the same for us humans

[Ruyi Pavilion]

Mr Dong is an honest official

Even if he wanted to embezzle the gold mine,

it doesn't mean that he's wicked

Master

What do you think of yourself?

Me?

I'm a profiteer

I...

I'm just a businesswoman

If I can feed every mouth in Ruyi Pavilion,

I'll be content enough

[Dong Residence]

Your Highness

[Qi Ce]

[Qin Qing]

Seems like I can't catch any today

You're blanking out the whole day

How can you catch any fish?

Tell me your trouble

I can share your thoughts

Have you ever discovered at a time

that someone you thought was close to you

was not like how you think they are?

And that they kept secrets from you?

Of course

You too?

How did you handle it?

There's two ways, you either wait for it or force to it

What do you mean?

If it's a secret, it won't be told

Then you wait

If you're not told for a long time,

force it out

How can you force someone close to you?

It's on the hook

It's good to wait

But I'm still worried

If I wait for it, I'll miss it

But if I force it,

what to do if things went badly?

You can't always get the best of both worlds

Whatever you do

comes with regrets

Say, why is the sun so hot?

Yes

If I'm Hou Yi,

I'll definitely shoot it down

Look, Bao Zhu

Ms Fu

M s Fu

I have something to discuss with you

Enlighten me, Little Marquis

You know I'm the Corporal now

I'm occupied with the Imperial Guards

Ledgers were sent from Feng Lai Yi every month

and I can't read them

To be honest, I don't understand them

The thing is...

Are you interested to be an accountant at Feng Lai Yi?

Me?

Thank you for inviting me

But I don't think I can make it

Besides,

why do you want me as an accountant?

Firstly, you're pedantic

You have high demands for yourself

Your ledgers must be really clean

Second, you're well-versed in all four talents

Though you're inexperienced in management,

but you're better than Ji Qing Ting at everything else

Very quickly,

you will be the best accountant in Hengjing County

Even a female shopkeeper

I'm not so interested

to show my face outside

Really? So why are you helping Liu Ru Yi?

I...

Don't be anxious yet

I know you would say that

you're helping Young Lady Rong.

But you can ask yourself

Don't you feel happy whenever

your painting was praised?

As far as I know,

after Qi Ce passed away,

plenty of people proposed marriage to you

If you really intend to be a housewife,

why would you hide at Yun Luo Temple from the hindrance?

-I... -Ms Fu

What do you want? What do you want to do?

Ask your heart

Don't get restrained from nonsensical matters

I shall take my leave

Ms Fu

Please don't make wild guesses, Little Marquis

Besides, even if I'm going to be an accountant,

It will be at Ruyi Pavilion

Nong Nong

We'll say goodbye here

Your father has some words

about my identity

You should come to my house next time as Mr Ju Shui

My father will welcome you warmly

Sure

I shall leave for now

Fu Rong

Why are you here?

How's your injury?

I'm fine

I promised to give you an explanation

But the bangle was given to me from my close ones

I can't tell you directly

I hope you can give me some time

Fu Rong

Things are not as simple as you think

I worry that you'll be involved

It's dangerous

How can it be when I said it's from my close ones?

A person's heart is unfathomable

Do you know how important she is to me?

More than your life?

What is it?

Why is it turning dark?

This...

What's happening?

Why did the sky turn dark? It's weird

Oh no

Why did the sky turn dark?

Run

Run

-Miss Xuan -Bao Zhu

Bao Zhu

The Heavenly Dog is eating the sun. You should hurry back

You might get eaten by it

Solar eclipse is normal

The one who eats humans

is human himself

There's something in your words

I know well about the people around me

I don't think so

Bao Zhu

Run

I'm sorry

How dare you steal at this hour?

-You want money over your life? -Please hear me out

-Hear me out? -Mister

Go away

Yes, mister. I'll scram

Ms Fu

We meet again

Which one is yours?

I can't see clearly in the dark

There's a lotus on mine

This one?

I'll send the others to the magistrate

Thank you, Little Marquis

But,

can you not appear suddenly everytime

and end things with violence?

-Little Marquis -Ms Fu

If I didn't kick him harder just now,

could I have found so many purses? That time as well

That bully looked so fierce

Would he listen to me if I was soft with him?

Should I

beg with them nicely then?

That's not what I meant

Really?

The Heavenly Dog is eating the sun

The Heavenly Dog is eating the sun

Don't be scared

They're chasing the Heavenly Dog away

Ms Fu

If I hold you like this,

you won't be afraid, right?

-You're a pig -Heavenly Dog eating the sun

Hurry and hide, hurry home

-What did you say? -Hurry and hide

-I said you're a pig -Hurry home

You couple are still bickering? Look at what's happening now

The Heavenly Dog will eat you up. Hide

What couple? Say it clearly

Heavenly Dog eats human? It's the Heavenly Dog

How can it eat mortals?

Knock?

Serves you right for knocking

You think you're the only one who can hit the gong?

It's brightening up, it's finally bright

What hands do I have?

I've made the sky bright

Not even Nuwa can do this

-The Heavenly Dog is gone -Our Corporal

is indeed young and romantic

The Heavenly Dog eats the sun

Everyone is in a panic

But our Corporal is not panicked,

instead he's flirting with a pretty girl

-Formidable -I'll punish you

if you speak nonsense again

Let's run

I'm sorry

I'm too lenient

They're not even afraid of me

They like to joke around with me

Thank you for taking back my purse, Little Marquis

Please give it to me

I have to return home quickly

When did I say I'm returning it back to you?

This purse belongs to me now

Give it back

Are you okay, miss?

The people are panicking

I must enter the palace now

Don't be afraid

This is a natural phenomenon

It won't happen again

Who's afraid?

Even if the Heavenly Dog eats the sun again,

I have ways to deal with it

Didn't I tell you before

that this Ruyi emblem

was found in Qi Ce's letter?

A few days ago,

I found this emblem

on a box

in Uncle's room

Even Mr Dong?

They were being used by someone before their deaths

This emblem

might be the clue to solve this mystery

I don't know who you're keeping things for

But I believe that

if you're suspicious,

you won't wear this bangle openly in front of me

You didn't pursue me on the matter

because of this coincidence

Didn't you say

you're giving half of your luck to me?

I don't want your luck

I'll wait for you to tell me the truth

Most importantly,

I trust you

I'm leaving now

Wait

Thank you for trusting me

[Master]

[What is exactly happening?]

Long live Your Majesty

Rise

Thank you, Your Majesty

For what happened today,

what do you all suggest?

How can a solar eclipse happen suddenly?

What do you all have to say about this?

Report

Emergency from Jichang City

Go

Mount Tai collapsed

Huge boulders caused casualties

Yu Hua Pavilion and Hong Fu Temple were destroyed

What?

Your Majesty

Could it be that there's injustice and unfairness

in Jichang City?

Therefore such phenomenon happened

Stop

Session adjourned

Session adjourned

Seeing Your Majesty off

Your Majesty

Duke An is here

Please, Duke An

Respects to Royal Brother

My brother

Have a seat

I see you look troubled

Are you worried about the solar eclipse?

This is a great evil omen

How can I not be worried?

I don't think so

Since the ancient times,

solar eclipses have been happening

In my opinion,

how can the moon have plenty of looks

but not the sun?

Besides,

Dayu is getting even more prosperous

with your wise management

Where is the danger?

But Jichang City was alright all the while

Why did Mount Tai suddenly collapse?

Astronomer Hu may be right

There's injustice in Jichang City

What injustice can there be?

Did the people suffer from building the Yu Hua Pavilion?

But I didn't approve any construction

Brother

It may not be a present incident

but something that happened in the past

Not only Yu Hua Pavilion was destroyed,

but Hong Fu Temple as well

What could have happened at Hong Fu Temple?

I think

Astronomer Hu is getting senile

Rong'er

Master

Rong'er

If you're curious,

you can ask me directly

I'll ask you then

The emblem on this bangle

What does it mean?

Didn't I tell you personally?

I designed it myself

It doesn't mean anything

But why did the emblem appear with Qi Ce and Mr Dong?

It may be a coincidence

Coincidence?

Didn't you say this emblem is one and only?

Mr Dong went to Hong Village

The woman I saw there was you

Master

I want you to tell me yourself

What exactly is happening here?

Rong'er

From the first time you called me master,

you're my only disciple

The person I want to protect is you

This bangle

Keep it properly

I'll never harm you

You always wanted me to keep this bangle safely

I just want to know its usage

Master

i never thought about suspecting you

But you're not telling me anything or explaining to me

I don't know what I should do

Rong'er

I don't wish that one day

I'd lose my trust in you

Rong'er

Wen Xing

Have a seat

Young Master

In such a short day,

the people are all in a panic

If we use Mr Ju Shui's name

and make a slight push,

everyone would think that

the solar eclipse happened because of an injustice

There's no need

All these years,

brother has been hiding the true cause of

mother's death from the world

Mother was forced to be buried outside Jichang City

I just want the truth

I just want him to tell me he was wrong

But he insisted to cover up for his son

He can't blame me for it

What ulterior motives is Duke An planning now?

You came uninvited, Mistress

What's the matter?

Duke An

You told me previously that

you'll blow up a small piece of the inscription

But now,

Mount Tai collapsed

The pavilions were almost destroyed

There were so many innocent people in Jichang City

So many monks in Hong Fu Temple

They're now dead under the boulders

The collapse of Mount Tai

and the destruction of the pavilions

Will I earn anything from them?

This matter

must've been done by the Prefect of Jichang City, Shang Kai Yang

You nurtured him too

But why, Mistress,

did you push the blame onto me?

What will Shang Kai Yang obtain

from doing this?

I want to know as well

If it was me,

I'd rather keep the firepower nicely

I'll use it another way

I won't be like that useless bum

who created a mess

About Xiang Kai Yang,

I really hope that you're ignorant

Young Master, This Liu Ru Yi...

She won't collaborate with me again

Wen Xing

Keep in contact with Shang Kai Yang

with Mr Liu's alias

Another thing

Handle this carefully

Don't leave any tracks for Liu Ru Yi

We have to step things up

with the medal too

Yes, sir

After pondering for a whole night,

I've made my decision

No matter what caused the solar eclipse,

we have to solve the crisis before our eyes

Duke Cheng

Yes, Royal Father

Go to the royal masoleum

Have a detailed check on the structures

Yes, Father

Duke Su

Yes, Father

Go to Jichang City

Investigate the collapse

Quickly refurbish Hong Fu Temple and Yu Hua Pavilion

Yes, Father

Duke Huai

Yes, Father

Pray at the ancestral hall

Pray to our ancestors

for blessings to Dayu's prosperity

Yes, Father

[Ruyi Pavilion]

[Master avoided my question about the bangle]

[There must be a secret about it]

[But how should I ask her this time?]

[Ruyi Pavilion]

[Where is Master going with her baggage?]

To Jichang City

Going out of town?

Where are you going?

I don't... Follow that carriage

No problem

-But for the price... -I'm fine with any price

Hurry, the gates are closing

-Sure -Young Lady Rong

Young Lady Rong

You're leaving town?

I'm going to the Yun Luo Temple with my master

Since you're here,

can you inform my family?

I didn't notify them that I'm going out

Sure

Take care on the way

If anything happens...

Don't worry

I'll send this young lady safely there

Thank you, Little Marquis

Your Highness

You're not returning to your residence at this hour?

Her Highness requested everyone to fast

We're taking turns to chant sutras

You're leaving the palace tomorrow?

Yes

Please take care

Sure

You must rest as well

Don't get tired

Go to him if you can't take it

Princess of Xihe

How audacious, Princess Consort of Qingping

Everyone is being cautious

for the fasting

You're doing well here

Openly flirting with Duke Huai?

Seems like you're not listening to His Majesty

It's fine for you to vent your anger on me

But Duke Huai is Duke Su's younger brother

If this goes into Duke Su's ears,

how will he think of you?

You dare to threaten me?

I don't

I know you're frustrated

But rather than waiting in the palace,

why don't you take the chance

and volunteer to visit Jichang City

Volunteer?

How can I volunteer?

As we all know,

your family is full of loyalty

Your father and brother demised

His Majesty took you into the palace

under the Empress Dowager's care

after you became an orphan

Qi Zhu

How dare you

speak about my background like this?

Princess

Many of our warriors lost their lives from Mount Tai's collapse

As a princess,

it's only right for you

to pray for them and console their families

From what I know,

Jichang City is not large

you'll stay in the magistrate when you're there

That means

you can see Duke Su

every day and night

Su Yu, I'm going to see His Majesty

But it's late now, Your Highness

There's no buts

His Majesty is busy everyday

He won't rest at this hour

Hurry

[West City]

Respects to Duke Su from Shang Kai Yang

[Shang Kai Yang, Prefect of Jichang City]

Respects to Duke Su

Rise

You don't have to pay courtesy after this

I'm here on behalf of His Majesty today

to investigate the collapse of Mount Tai

You must be tired from all the travelling

I've sent men to prepare hot water

and some warm wine and food

You can have a bath and some rest

There's no need for wine

The whole of Dayu is fasting now

HIs Majesty forbids drinking

Didn't Jichang City receive the order?

Yes, I spoke wrongly

There's warm tea and porridge

but no warm wine

Go and have some rest first

I'll ask Lord Shang to accompany me in the afternoon

-Yes -Yes

How can this be?

He doesn't drink

He doesn't even want a woman

Lord Shang

What if Duke Su

is not interested in wine and lust?

Impossible

Mr Liu said so

Duke Su is alcoholic and lecherous

If we served him well,

[Duke Su is alchoholic and lecherous save yourself by this]

everything will be fine

Duke Su is in a high position

He must've seen plenty of nice women

Common prostitutes

may not be his preference

Why don't we find him some commoners?

Perhaps it'll suit his taste

Good

Good

Little Marquis

Little Marquis

I've waited for a whole night

and told Ms Fu once I saw her

Who knew after I told her,

Ms Fu said she's coming here

with something to discuss

[Imperial Guards]

Thank you for informing me, Little Marquis

My sister left Hengjing to Luo Yun Temple

Did you see her leave town with your own eyes?

What do you mean by that?

Of course I saw her

Will I lie to you with this?

Please don't misunderstand

I'm not suspecting you

It's just that

I don't understand

Why did Rong'er go to Yun Luo Temple in a hurry?

You said she was with Ms Liu

Did you see Ms Liu?

No

Maybe they scheduled to meet outside of town

No way

Thank you, Little Marquis. I'm leaving now

Where are you going?

Yun Luo Temple?

You're in luck

I'm on my way to light a holy lamp there

Why don't

I take you with me in kindness?

This...

Sure

If you're really going to Yun Luo Temple,

I'll accept your offer

Sure, give me a moment

Lord Shang

I've sent men to look for nice women and nice wine

But to ensure no failure,

you should send some men to clean Yu Hua Pavilion up

Mr Liu never makes a mistake with his information

Lord Shang

You never met Mr Liu

Is that important?

Since coming to Jichang City,

from receiving Mr Liu's first letter,

he has been providing information to me

I was guided to the position I'm in now

Mr Liu's ability is extraordinary

He knows everything

He's not an ordinary man

In his first letter,

he requested a minor explosion

But then wanted us to blow up the whole Yu Hua Pavilion

and Hong Fu Temple

it's really redundant

He's doing this for our own good

Mr Liu wanted us to blow up the mountain during solar eclipse

to cover the change of construction materials for Yu Hua Pavilion

If not for Mr Liu,

can we think of such a way?

[What a pretentious Duke An with the fake letters]

[And what a greedy traitor, Shang Kai Yang]
