The Blessed Girl

Episode 29

Weisheng Yan,

did you lie to

to me again?

If today is really your birthday,

why isn’t there anyone

celebrating your birthday

at your Mansion or in the streets?

Because you’re the only one

who knows the date of my birthday in the world.

Why?

People celebrate birthday

because the birth

is an event of happiness.

But if a man’s birth isn’t

something to be happy for.

Instead, it’s a sin.

Then, naturally,

there’s no need to celebrate.

Why did you

ask me out today?

To fulfill a promise I made

over two decades ago.

Over two decades ago?

I once said that

a merchant values nothing more than his credit.

Once he’s made a promise,

he will fulfill it

no matter how long it takes.

Go ahead.

Yin Zhuang, think carefully.

Have I ever broken my promise?

But, Yin Zhuang,

you’ve broken yours.

Have you forgotten how you broke our marriage engagement?

That engagement was arranged

by my father.

I never agreed to it.

So,

I only defied my father’s order.

What is the promise

you haven’t fulfilled?

It’s a long story.

Take your time.

Do you want to hear it?

I thought you’re supposed to be

thinking about Huotu Xin right now.

Who told you that

I should be thinking

about Huotu Xin?

They all say that

whatever happens in Pingting

can’t escape the watchful eyes of Weisheng Yan.

But

how can you not know the thing

that is happening right before you?

I’ve sorted things out with Huotu Xin.

From now on,

we’re nothing

but friends.

I owe you an apology.

Your relationship went sour

because you stopped him

from killing me,

right?

It has nothing to do with you.

Do you believe what Huotu Xin said?

It’s not important whether it’s a lie or the truth.

I’ve learned this

from you.

Yin Zhuang, don’t say so.

I’d rather cheat the whole world

than lying to you.

But when we first met,

you already started

telling me lies,

shipmaster.

Yin Zhuang, you haven’t changed

a bit since we first met.

Actually, I think

I’ve changed a lot.

It smells so good.

My cooking is incredible!

Okay.

It’s one coin,

including the fee for last time’s barbecue.

Take it.

Okay.

Bye.

Bye.

How many times I’ve told you?

Why can’t you change?

Coins are dirty.

Don’t put it in your mouth.

Dirty?

Then don’t take coins.

Come.

Slow down.

Be careful. It’s hot.

Hurry and deliver them the cutlets.

It’s fine.

We’re not in a hurry.

Dear guest,

is this your first time coming here?

Why do you

look so familiar?

Your memory is so good.

You can remember all your guests?

No.

When I was younger,

my memory is good.

But now I’m old.

Now I can’t even remember

what happened yesterday,

let alone the guests

we have every day.

But,

you look so amicable.

It seems that I’ve seen you somewhere.

Amicable?

This is the first time

I hear someone describe him in that way.

Madam,

you’re really good at doing business.

Madam,

how do you like this girl?

She’s so pretty.

If I weren’t seeing her with my own eyes,

I couldn’t believe that

there could be such a pretty girl in the world.

If you have a son,

do you want him to

marry such a lady?

How’s that possible?

If I’m fortunate to have a son,

he is destined to sell cutlets with me.

How can he

marry such a pretty lady?

The world is unpredictable.

Everything is possible,

isn’t it?

Dear,

I’m as busy

as a beaver now.

And you?

You’re chatting.

I’m chatting with the guests.

Haven’t you noticed?

You know who he is?

Who is he?

He is Lord Weisheng Yan.

Lord Weisheng.

We’re new here.

We’re unfamiliar with the neighborhood.

Thanks to the help from your Chamber of Commerce,

we can have this little restaurant.

Don’t you recognize him?

He’s Lord Weisheng Yan.

We just received subsidy from him

a few days ago.

You forgot?

Right.

I remember.

That’s why you look so familiar to me.

Were you the neighbor

that lived

next to us?

Your nickname was Erdan?

What Erdan?

Lord Weisheng, don’t be mad.

It’s my wife’s fault.

She’s a psycho.

No, I’m not.

Fine.

Go ahead with your work.

I don’t want to be disturbed today.

Okay. Enjoy the meal.

Let’s go.

Don’t you think he looks like Erdan?

You’re really dumb.

When did we have a neighbor named Erdan?

Stop talking nonsense.

I’ve tasted all delicacies of Suchuan,

but their gravy is still the best.

Marry her son?

Yin Zhuang, don’t be mad.

It was only a joke.

Really?

Move away.

Who are they?

You’ve already brought me here.

Don’t you want to tell me?

That woman is called

Aunt Xin in the neighborhood.

As time passes by,

no one remembers her real name.

Aunt Xin was once in love

with that man.

The neighbors said that

if there were reincarnations

of mandarin ducks,

they must be this couple.

The fairy tale ended when Aunt Xin gave birth to their son

after twelve months’ pregnancy.

Coincidentally,

the man wasn’t home

for the previous ten months.

When the child was born,

there was a voice in his head

that he couldn’t shake off.

Was this child really born

after twelve months’ pregnancy?

Was this child the bastard Aunt Xin had

with another man?

He isn’t my son.

He’s a bastard.

A bastard.

If it weren’t for the help from The Head of Nianguang Pavilion,

that man

would’ve killed that kid already.

On your knees.

Sir.

What are you...?

Please keep this child.

If he stays with us,

his father will kill him one day.

I’m begging you.

Okay. Stand up.

Aunt Xin asked the old Head

to erase their memory

about the child.

Then, they fell in love again.

As for the child,

he was forever removed

from their world.

It’s all over now.

From now on,

you no longer have a father,

or a mother.

No one in this world

will ever know that

you once existed.

Are you willing to forget them?

No.

I’ll remember them.

All of them.

Can they really forget?

They’re nothing more than strangers

when they meet.

But,

in the memory of Aunt Xin,

there always lives a neighbor

named Erdan.

She’ll forget.

Look at yourself.

Let me wipe it for you.

Does the man love her?

Love?

When they live at peace,

he’s kind of sweet and caring.

Once there’s friction between them,

once there’s discrepancy in their trust,

he’d rather trust his intuitions than

the woman who’s been with him

in his life.

Tell me.

Is this love?

I’ll go pay the bill.

Dear,

we’re running out of coriander.

Go buy some.

Okay. I’ll go.

Come back soon.

Okay.

Sir.

My lord.

We’re holding a feast at Weisheng Mansion tomorrow night.

Can you send us some barbecue?

No problem.

How much do you want?

As much as you have.

No problem.

Sorry for our impoliteness previously.

My wife...

Don’t mind it.

Say goodbye to her for me.

Okay. Okay.

Goodbye.

Bye.

Let’s go.

You haven’t told me

why you took me here.

You’re the woman I’ll marry.

I have to take you to

see my mother at least.

Besides,

I have to fulfill

a promise

I made decades ago.

What is this?

This is the gift to you

for accompanying me for half a day.

Why do you give me this?

This belongs to you to begin with.

Do you have it?

Master.

Thank you for your work.

Master.

Take it.

Master.

I’m sorry. I’m sorry.

I’m sorry.

I’m sorry for

bumping into you.

Sorry.

What are you standing there for?

Master just apologized to me.

He even smiled at me.

The lock for Weisheng Yan’s vault

is very special.

To be opened, the lock needs to be

connected to his bone and flesh.

Even if we have his key,

we can’t use it.

If we put Blood Crystal ashes into human body,

then use Qi,

we can...

That is to say.

The blood I stole

combined with the Qi you built

makes the key to the vault?

That’s correct.

That’s only a trick though.

We can only open the door once.

Do you have to check out the vault yourself?

What?

The scent is so familiar.

I sensed Meng Zhan on you.

Li Sha,

Meng Zhan has...

You have a crystal on you beside the bracelet,

right?

Are you talking about this?

Weisheng Yan gave me this.

How’s this possible?

He created Memory Crystal?

Memory Crystal?

Memory Crystal can be forged?

I remember Meng Zhan told me that

only Huotu Ke made two pieces of Memory Crystal

five hundred years ago.

He gave one to his lover, Yin Jia.

That was the one Weisheng Yan destroyed.

Emperor Yuan Tu’s God

had the other one.

The one Linglong has?

When Huotu Ke died,

the way to forge Memory Crystal was lost.

No one can forge it since.

Then, this one?

Weisheng Yan has been trying to forge Memory Crystal.

Meng Zhan said he could never succeed.

But,

if he succeeds in making Memory Crystal,

no one can stop him.

What do you mean?

The power of Memory Crystal is extraordinary.

Besides

extracting and erasing memories

like what Meng Zhan used to do,

there’s more.

It can control people’s mind.

You mean

Linglong might have been controlled

by Weisheng Yan?

Yin Zhuang,

can you do me a favor?

Are you ready?

Blacksmiths forge weapons

out of crystals and Qi.

The body of the Lis

is the strongest Qi.

So,

we can use all sorts of crystals,

including Memory Crystal.

But I just can’t wield it

as well as Meng Zhan did.

Moreover, our Lis always choose

a kind of crystal

and integrate it into our body when we’re young

to maximize its power.

Mine is Phantom Stone.

So I’m good at conjuring illusions.

So,

what I’m saying is that

I can only try

unless I exchange my Phantom Stone

with Memory Crystal.

This might not work out.

But if we exchange

the Phantom Stone in your body

with Memory Crystal,

will it be dangerous for you?

It’s said that no one can stand

that excruciating pain.

Then we mustn’t take the risk.

After all,

Memory Crystal is already dangerous.

That’s why I asked for your help.

Use your force to

keep my mind from

being controlled by Memory Crystal.

Are you saying that

we can control Memory Crystal like Meng Zhan did

if we work together.

That’s what I meant.

Meng Zhan and Yuan Yi

are not here.

If Weisheng Yan can control Memory Crystal,

Yin Xiao and Linglong

will be in great danger.

So we should at least know

what on earth this is.

If the situation gets dangerous,

we’ll stop immediately.

Oh.

When we enter

Memory Crystal later,

my memory will be reenacted.

If you see Yin Xiao,

close your eyes.

Don’t worry.

I

mustn’t use Yin Zhuang’s marriage to

trade Pingting’s support.

Father, please think twice.

Father,

let Yin Xiao get up.

He’s been on his knees

without any water or food for two days.

If this goes on, I’m afraid...

I didn’t ask him to.

He’s doing this on his own will.

Zhuang, how do you

think of

your engagement?

The revival of the Yins

is only my responsibility.

Father, please think twice.

Once he sees me,

this engagement

will work.

Zhuang,

don’t blame me.

This is your destiny.

How can a daughter

blame her father?

I’m looking forward to

this marriage.

Great.

Father,

we mustn’t use Yin Zhuang’s marriage to

trade Pingting’s support.

The revival of the Yins

only needs me.

Father, please think twice.

Zhuang,

do you know who your future husband will be?

Weisheng Yan.

She’s like a peony.

She’s cold

but also stunning.

It turns out Weisheng Yan

has been coveting you for a long time.

Let’s go.

Go where?

Let’s go find Weisheng Yan.

Li Sha, be careful.

Where are we?

Li Sha.

Li Sha.

Li Sha.

Li Sha.

What happened to you?

Where are we?

Are we still inside Memory Crystal?

I don’t know.

I don’t know.

It’s dangerous.

Let’s go.

Yin Zhuang.

Yin Zhuang.

Master.

Go out.

Master.

Leave.

Yin Zhuang.

Yin Zhuang.

Give me your hand.

I’m here for you.

Don’t be scared.

Huotu Xin.

Huotu Xin.

I knew

you would come.

I’m here.

Go to sleep.

Yin Zhuang.

Yin Zhuang.

Li Sha.

Huotu Xin.

I’m still in the memory?

Whose memory is this?

Madam, please fulfill your promise.

Yin Zhuang has recovered.

Lord Weisheng,

it’s time for your treatment.

If Weisheng Yan can read Memory Crystal,

we’ll be damned.

He has been with the old Head

for so many years.

He must have known many secrets

from Memory Crystal,

even more than you do.

Since he’s seen so many

of our secrets,

we must find out his.

The key to his vault?

How did you get it?

I had one more trick.

Your muscles and bones were intact.

Your legs were healthy previously.

Suddenly, you can’t stand up.

I don’t think this was

caused by injuries.

How were your legs hurt?

Initially,

I thought I had everything under control.

She’s just a toy

to play with when I want to.

When I don’t like her,

I can discard her.

But, since when,

there’s no way out for me.

No way out?

Then I was hit by

the door that fell on me.

Lord Weisheng,

your description

will only cloud my judgments of your injuries.

Just tell me

if you can treat this or not.

This is not an injury.

I can’t

treat it.

If you can’t cure it,

I’m afraid

no one in Suchuan

can help me stand up again.

Doctor,

have you heard of

a legendary stone

that can make the dead grow flesh and bone.

Anyone who learns medicines

has heard of this legend.

But this is a mere legend.

Even if you have the stone,

do you know how to use it?

Even if this stone really exists,

it’s only a crystal, not a medicine.

It’s not edible.

To forge a stone,

you need to find a blacksmith.

Iron cabinets locked inside iron houses.

This is air-tight?

I’ll make you so poor that

you’ll have to beg from the beggars.

Fine.

Let him keep the money for Pingting.

This?

This is really him.

What happened to Yin Zhuang?

What did you do to her?

She’s fine.

Don’t worry.

I won’t let anything happen to her.

You...

I’m the hero who saved the beauty this time.

It’s about to rain in Pingting.

But the people of Pingting

have no idea about this.

Yin Xiao, for you,

this rain brings good things.

God Bestowal Ceremony

is our priority right now.

I agree.

I agree to

conduct God Bestowal Ceremony

to bestow Yin Xiao

as the Emperor.

Have you made up your mind?

Isn’t this what you want?

This is beyond what I can imagine.

Can you handle this?

I can.

It’s all worth it

since I once hold you in my arms.

At that moment,

I was envious of Huotu Xin.

It felt so good when you depended on me

and looked at me in a loving way.

Weisheng Yan,

turn around.

You once told me that

you can put everything behind

for me.

If I wish to

be with you,

can you tell me

your secrets honestly now?

Why are you saying this?

Are you saying this because I saved you?

I’m not kidding with you.

This is the last time

I ask you this question.

I want you to answer it sincerely.

I never hold back

before you.

This is your answer?

Yes.

Isn’t this the answer you want?

Weisheng Yan,

marry me.

What?

I want to marry you.

Do you want it or not?

No.

You refused me?

I refuse.

You saved me.

And you helped Yin Xiao.

I just want you to know my love.

I don’t want

our marriage to be

a trade-off again.

I want you to look at me

the same way you look at him.

Yuan Yi,

you left me alone here.

You mustn’t blame me

no matter what I do.

I almost felt sorry

seeing you like this.

Meng Zhan.

You finally came around.

You...

-What? -You...

Do you want to give me a hug?

You psycho.

You deceived me.

This place is dangerous.

Weisheng Yan might find you at any time.

Let’s go inside first.

He can’t harm

me now.

Of course, he can.

You can’t defeat Weisheng Yan because

he can control Memory Crystal, right?

I already knew it.

He’s the same like

you and Li Sha.

He’s also not an average man.

You’re only partially correct.

When he was sheltered by Nianguang Pavilion,

he was nothing more than

an average 8-year-old kid.

Unexpectedly,

in two years,

he stole the secrets

of the ancient Memory Crystal

without the old Head knowing it.

You told me that

The Heads of Nianguang Pavilion

are born with their abilities?

Then...

Yes.

No one knows

how he did that.

What happened next?

The more he knew,

the more scared he was.

Because he knew that

no matter how hard he tried,

no matter how many secrets he stole,

his schemes would collapse

so easily

before the old Head.

He couldn’t even keep his own memory.

So,

as long as Nianguang Pavilion isn’t destroyed,

he can’t have a night’s sleep.

So,

he created the objects

that can neutralize Memory Crystal.
