[Episode 26]

You were so amazing.

Everyone was moved by you.

Did you hear them applause for you?

Shasha, I heard it all. Thank you!

That was good.

I finally know why you always yearn to come on stage.

Now, you just realized?

I thought that we could stand on it together in the future.

On the stage?

But according to your progress now, if you don't practice the piano well,

I'm afraid that I can't go even when I'm old and can't raise the baton.

I will practice well.

We can collaborate together very soon.

I believe in you.

I've never been this nervous in my whole life.

Don't be nervous!

- I'm going on stage. - Okay.

There is a change for the solo violinist?

Why a sudden change?

Let's see how they will conquer us.

Even with many obstacles,

I eventually brought this song along and stood on the semi-finals stage.

The leader of this symphony is not only the conductor,

but also the solo violinist who plays this symphony.

Thank you, Qingshang.

Your performance has bestowed a soul to this piece of music again.

Once again, I have experienced the perfect concerto in D major.

Also, thank you, Xiaowo.

It's you who sees my hidden sadness every time

and my masked helplessness.

Meeting you is the luckiest thing to me.

Thank you, everyone, for being here.

We are happy to have such outstanding musicians

for the edition of this year.

First, let's welcome

our dear Jury's President

William Fox.

Nice to meet you!

Thank you, everyone, for your performances, but this is a contest,

so we had to make a choice.

Indeed! We would like to welcome our three musicians.

It's more than a competition,

it's a concert with some wonderful music.

It was a feast for the ears.

I will announce the third prize of this contest.

It's the young conductor,

Jean Monté.

The winner, the name that you're all expecting,

is none other than...

Li Zhenyan!

Please give a big round of applause.

Li Zhenyan won the championship.

No one would be surprised.

I never doubted his abilities.

Then what do you plan to do for your next step?

Let's start our plan then.

Li, your Tchaikovsky was extraordinary,

it even reminded me my first love story.

I'm sorry for the loss.

No, she didn't die. I'm saying it was really...

Really moving, really charming! Just like your violinist friend.

Yes, of course and I will pass the compliments for you,

but she already has a boyfriend.

Li, with this grand prize you have to start your performances without rest.

This is the reward for winning this contest.

I've also gained a lot from this competition. I really appreciate it.

This is just the beginning.

Good luck, young man!

Let's take a picture together.

What are they talking about?

They are saying, your boyfriend will be upgrading his status to the global monster fighting mode.

Fight... fighting what monsters?

It means that he will leave Paris soon.

To be honest, coming back to Europe this time, you really surprised me.

From the prelims to the finals, your change really changed my impression.

I admire you, but also feel uneasy.

What I admire is that I haven't seen you in half a year, yet you've improved so much.

You must've put a lot of effort that people couldn't even imagine.

At the same time, what makes me uneasy is because of your talent.

It always makes me want to catch up.

Thank you for allowing me to be so hard working.

Thank you.

Li Zhenyan, this is just a competition.

I will never admit defeat to you.

Of course! You're really amazing.

I'll look forward to meeting you again next time.

Come on, Daria!

Cheers!

Cheers!

Li Zhenyan, you're back!

Do you know when you were standing there today,

I thought it was so far so I went forward

to get closer, you were even further.

Li Zhenyan, you're back! It's nice to have you by my side.

What's wrong with her? She drank so much and you guys didn't even stop her.

Who would've known that she has low alcohol tolerance? She only drank half the can and became like this.

She's in a bad mood. Let her take it out.

She's in a bad mood? What happened?

Who said that I'm in a bad mood?

I'm very happy right now. Look!

Enough, you're happy! Let's go to sleep.

Okay.

I still want to drink. Qingshang! Qingshang!

Okay, you're lonely. It's good to be lonely.

Sleep well!

Goodnight!

Li Zhenyan, after winning,

are you going to go find Maestro Wayn?

Are you going to leave me?

So, is this why you're sad?

No, I'm very happy.

Say, it wasn't easy for me to come to Paris with you,

and at the end, we're going to separate.

Will you really leave me?

Don't worry! I will always keep you company and won't leave you.

Hurry and sleep!

- Here is your noodles! - Okay.

Third Granduncle, it'll be ready right away!

It's fine.

Here is your noodles.

Stop eating! I have serious things to tell you.

I've looked at our budget today.

Besides the various fees,

after our official rehearsals, there's still another huge expense.

If things continue this way, our orchestra can't endure it.

Stop eating first.

Let me think of a way.

Don't tell them first! I'm afraid that they'll be worried.

Actually, as for sponsoring an orchestra,

this is quite risky to us.

I've seen your documents.

I personally think it's not bad,

but it's not direct and not believable.

- You are the concertmaster of this orchestra, aren't you? - Yes.

It's like this! As the concertmaster,

your music represents your orchestra's level.

Just in time, I also saw you bringing your violin today.

Why don't you play a song for us?

How about it?

It won't take too much time, just a small part.

The members of RS Orchestra all graduated from the most famous college in Shanghai.

I heard you guys had a performance at Shanghai before.

That was the first performance for our orchestra.

So the price that we could sell was... student pricing.

CEO Deng, it's like this. They're still up-and-comer right now, and—

Hello?

I will take care of this.

Okay.

This is our orchestra proposal for the first stage.

Our orchestra is actually from Mario Paci Conservatory of Music.

Have you heard of Mario Paci Conservatory of Music? It's a famous Shanghai

- one... one— - music school, isn't it?

We're young but our music level is actually excellent.

I hope you can take a look.

I think we presented quite well this time. Hope it's okay.

I hope so.

Let me consider it.

Thank you, Boss.

I heard you saved the situation on the first day you went to Paris.

Was it that thrilling?

Isn't it so? Because it was thrilling,

so I like this place that is full of challenges,

but there's no...

Don't have what? There's no me, right?

Move aside! You're so annoying.

What? Only you can talk to my cousin?

- Let me. - Okay.

Enough, stop being childish, you two! I miss you both of you.

You look very frazzled.

Is Team RS very tough, Qin Fen?

I... do I look like I'm about to be tired to death right now?

Is your heart aching?

Let me tell you! No matter how tired you are, practice the violin everyday.

Okay, okay. I know.

I wanted to say that you play the violin well and good at school,

but in life...

I'm afraid that you can't find good food to eat.

I'm afraid that you can't live well or lose your way.

Right? I don't know the weather over there, either.

Is it really dry?

Did you bring the face masks that I bought you?

I didn't bring them!

Okay, remember to use that.

You use it there and I'll use it here. It's a pair.

Everything is a pair. This can be a pair, too?

But after riding the airplane for so long, I feel like

I became ugly and frazzled.

You didn't get uglier.

But if you use a mask to hydrate your skin, you'll be even prettier.

Where are you guys right now? Why does it look weird?

I...

We came out to walk around.

Last time, I showed you the new practice location.

What do you think? Isn't it very great? I can feel it there!

It's just a pity that you're not here.

Stop it! I need to practice, bye now.

Wait a second.

I miss you.

I miss you, too.

You guys waited for a while.

Hello, CEO Wang.

- You're Qin Fen right? - Yes.

Please sit!

I've already seen the video of your previous performances.

But because your orchestra consists of

current students and recent graduates,

so I considered

the problem to be not having enough experience.

Then we won't take up your time today.

I hope we will have a chance to collaborate with you in the future.

Young lad, don't be in a rush!

Sit down.

It's like this! Before, I was lucky

to watch Team RS' performance.

Your orchestra's enthusiasm

and love towards music,

left me a deep impression.

So this time seeing you guys

request for this sponsorship, I was thinking

if I could help you guys.

Then, CEO Wang what you mean is...

I don't know

if we'll be lucky enough to cooperate.

Of course! Let's have a good collaboration.

- Thank you, CEO Wang. - Thank you!

- Let's have a good collaboration. - Young lad, work hard.

Yes!

I look forward to our collaboration.

Thank you, CEO Wang. Thank you, CEO Wang.

Let's go!

I didn't expect that I can learn from Professor Wo Gerui so soon.

Did you just realize it now?

Of course, not.

I just think it's too sudden.

I also don't know if Professor Wo Gerui speaks Chinese or not.

Will he like me? Will he be mean?

If he really doesn't know how to speak Chinese,

then you'll regret for not learning French.

I didn't think I would stay here this fast.

Also, I heard Qingshang say that students of the Masters

will all have a chance to an individual recital.

Only the students that are talented have this opportunity.

Do you think it's possible for me?

You've finally got your woodenhead in the right place.

Why do you want to have an individual recital all of a sudden?

That's because I want to

perform with you on the stage sooner.

I also want to be like Qingshang.

On the same stage,

the light shining on you,

and I play the piano right next to you.

Just like how we play together with four hands in private.

I'm watching you by your side.

I can see you way better than being at the backstage.

How did you present a good performance in such a cheesy way?

But I believe in your talents.

You will definitely be selected to have an individual recital.

- So you have to practice the piano well. - Then will you go with me?

If I don't go with you,

then who will I cook for at home?

Okay!

Then... while I'm at it, I'll make another request.

Am I spoiling you too much?

Okay, say it! I'll consider it and see if I can promise you.

Can you go on a date with me this Saturday?

What? Saturday?

I think I have something on Saturday so I can't.

What is it?

Because I seem to promise someone called Fang Xiaowo and go out to have fun with her.

Isn't that me? Pinky promise.

Pinky promise.

Pinky shake on it.

Pinky shake on it and and keep your promise for 100 years.

Don't change it in 100 years.

Why did you wake up so early?

Morning.

What are you doing?

I'm organizing your daily schedule.

From now on, you'll have 8 hours of practice and 2 hours of music theory every day.

Before you meet Professor Wo Gerui, memorize the daily French words.

Put a check beside it when you finish.

[Priam]

You have good taste.

This dress suits our Lucky Charm.

Yes.

How is it? I have something to discuss with you.

Once you sign this contract, you'll be my assisting conductor.

You will have a world tour performance with me.

This is a chance that a lot of people dream of.

Also, the terms of the contract,

are much more generous than those in the industry.

Once you sign this contract, within a short period of time,

you will fulfill your dream of being a world-renowned conductor.

It's best if you find someone else.

Do you always reject because of my relationship with your dad?

Or you dare not face it yourself?

It has nothing to do with him.

Maestro Wayn is my only teacher so I will not choose you.

Then why aren't you looking for Maestro Wayn?

Do you think if you continue to stay with Fang Xiaowo,

it will be good for her?

Have you ever thought, is it that she can't leave you,

or the other way around?

Fang Xiaowo is focusing on you.

Your every move will affect her.

Her piano talents aren't worse than yours.

It's just that she doesn't know so she can do whatever she wants,

but you should know.

If you are as carefree as her,

then she will only stay in one place and won't progress.

This will harm her instead.

Being an indecisive and warm-hearted man, you hurt people the most.

Her focus is all on you.

As long as you're by her side, she won't worry about what she wants.

Only if you leave her, our Lucky Charm can truly think about what her future might be.

That's right.

This process will be very painful.

But it's what everyone needs to experience in order to grow,

and this is what you can help.

Xiaowo, have you thought about what you want to do next?

I want to keep being with you.

I'm not talking about this.

I'm saying that as a performer,

you need to play more concertos with other orchestras after performing with me.

For instance, you're going to have your individual recital.

But I only want to collaborate with you.

Only you understand my piano playing.

I don't want to and don't need anyone else.

Xiaowo, do you remember

after you saw Fei She'er and Song Ran's collaboration online,

you took me to practice piano with you,

but you gave up after playing it once.

Do you remember me telling you to not give up halfway?

I remember, so I won't give up halfway this time.

I will definitely play this song well.

So, will it be the same even if I'm not here?

What do you mean?

Do you regret?

Are you leaving?

If you want her to shine,

then you have to let her know her passion towards the piano,

and her belief towards the stage.

In order to do this, you have to let her see herself first.

Allowing her to leave you.

Li Zhenyan, genius is easily fallen.

She probably won't regret her decision now,

but will you not?

I can't.

I can't.

You can't what?

You can't go anywhere right now,

because you have to attend classes.

Are we not leaving?

You scared me to death.

I forgot all the words that I remembered today.

It was hard for me to remember all these that I highlighted.

Oh right! You even stuck a post-it on my back.

Good thing Qingshang found out.

I asked her and she didn't tell me. She told me to come back and ask you. What does it mean?

[Amour]

Amour. (TN: Love in French)

It means silly.

I worked so hard and you're saying that I'm silly? You're the one who is silly.

It was tough for me to remember.

I felt asleep.

I was scared to death.

Your every move will affect her.

Her piano talents aren't worse than yours. It's just that she doesn't know,

so she can do whatever she wants, but you should know.

If you are as carefree as her,

then she will only stay in one place and won't progress.

This will harm her instead.

Li Zhenyan?

Are you up?

I'm coming in!

I'm leaving Paris for two months. Go to class properly!

Take good care of yourself and wait for me to return.

Li Zhenyan... where are you?

Xiaowo, I'm sorry.

La citrouille, pumpkin.

Le chou, cabbage. Le soleil, the Sun.

Piano, piano. Robe de soiree, evening dress.

Pantoufles, slippers.

Crepuscule, twilight.

I... I memorized all of them.

I practiced piano for nine hours yesterday.

I studied music theory for three hours.

I checked everything on the daily schedule.

Didn't we make a promise?

Why did you suddenly leave?

Xiaowo, I...

I know I'm a fool.

But this fool is working very hard,

learning very hard.

C-can you not abandon me and leave by yourself?

You even stuck a post-it on my back.

Good thing Qingshang found out.

I asked her and she didn't tell me. She told me to come back and ask you. What does it mean?

[Amour]

Amour.

It means silly.

Xiaowo. "Amour" actually means "lover."

Today is our Orchestra RS's

first practice in this venue!

This will be our home from now on!

Everyone knows that to us, Orchestra RS

holds special meaning to us.

Today, some new people have joined us.

our old members are still with us, I'm very grateful.

I think if our new Orchestra RS is to keep going forward,

we must find a mutual goal and work hard together to make it come true! What do you all think?

I agree! If we don't have a mutual goal,

everyone will just try to make a living,

and neglect our performance.

So I think we should try to enter the Shanghai Conservatory.

As I know,

just the rental fees for the Shanghai Conservatory are more than thirty thousands.

Also, we still have to practice there right?

That will require more time.

We cannot afford the rental fees.

Yes. Shanghai Conservatory is a musical hall that we all want to go to,

but... can we really do it?

Don't say that!

We are musicians.

Is there anything wrong with going to a musical hall?

So, as long as we work hard,

Shanghai Conservatory it is! We can definitely do it!

Okay! Then let's begin today's first practice!

Let's welcome, Conductor He Shengliang.

Stop!

Concertmaster. You must remember. You are an orchestra's concertmaster.

If you fall deep into your own music, you can just be a soloist.

Also, everyone else, there are so many problems with all of you.

I don't believe none of you can hear that the rhythms are not together.

Unless none of you have any musical sense.

Must you talk like that to us?

We haven't practiced together for a long time, it's very normal.

Also, let me tell you! If Senior Brother was here, you wouldn't even have the chance to conduct, okay?

Do you think I really wanted to come and conduct you all?

I only came because Li Zhenyan asked me to.

Also, true professionals

won't be affected no matter how long they haven't practiced.

You made such a beginner's mistake, and you won't even let me talk?

Okay, okay, okay.

It's our first practice. Of course, we'll have problems. It'll be fine once we work it out.

- Let's continue. - Wait!

Also, oboe. Your reed has issues. Get a new one!

I couldn't hear a problem!

Stopping rehearsal just for that, you're over-exaggerating!

I don't know how you all worked together before.

But changing conductors means changing styles.

I will not allow for even the smallest mistake.

No problem, big or small, is allowed!

Also, as to the problem of arriving late and leaving early,

if you do it three times, please leave.

You're over-exaggerating. Leaving the team after three times?

How can it be? Really!

You're too cruel.

We've all graduated now. There's many things to deal with.

Of course, it will be affected.

That's right! You're making us leave after three times.

Even professional orchestras don't have a rule like that.

Professional orchestras wouldn't let you in and even more so, after these three chances.

Since none of you can accept it, we'll stop here for today.

Fine!

What's with the attitude?

Timing and subtitles brought to you by The Symphony Lovers @ Viki

It seems like everyone needs some time to get used to He Shengliang being the conductor.

Yes. He's too arrogant.

Why were you talking so rudely earlier?

There were so many people there.

He was the one who was being rude first!

Also, in front of everyone, I don't think he was cooperative at all.

Then can't you hold it in? Really...

I've thought about the concert.

If we perform commercially three times,

then we can almost have our own concert.

Three times is enough?

Okay. Then my family will take care of the lunch during practice.

Thankfully my family runs a noodle shop.

We can help everyone save some money.

Then... where will we find the chance to perform commercially?

I don't know either.

Excuse me, who is in charge of this orchestra?

[You Salon]Um... boss... so...

My shop is opening this weekend.

I went to buy something in the art district nearby just now.

I can't believe that I heard the symphonies.

Isn't this fate?

How about this? I will hire you to perform at my opening celebration!

Boss, you mean, you want our orchestra to perform at your store?

That's right. My store isn't big,

but don't worry about the fee.

I definitely won't treat you poorly!

But... for classical music, there are some limitations with the performance.

No problem! It is definitely suitable, definitely suitable!

Let me tell you. I grew up listening to symphonies.

Like Matador March, Fate Symphony...

Let me tell you. Since I was a child,

I was nurtured by music.

I really really love listening to it!

I'm impressed!

Boss, then, what about the performance fee?
