[Episode 10]

So, the winner for today

is Team A!

It's okay.

Remember what I said to you all before the competition?

Follow our hearts

and let our true sounds be heard.

We achieved that, didn't we?

Just like what Master Fei said.

"Bravo".

Bravo!

Congratulations!

You fully deserved the win.

Thank you.

You are still congratulating me now.

Aren't you disbanding?

Yeah, we are.

But luckily, we had already prepared for it.

Tian, what did you think of today's competition?

I've always believed that success depends on the accumulation of abilities.

Today, I led Team A in defeating Team S.

Other than proving Team A is the most talented orchestra of this school,

I proved another point: The student that Master Fei has been looking for all this time is me.

What do you mean by the student conductor that Master Fei has been looking for?

It's true! Li Zhenyan is indeed much more talented than the students in the Conducting Department.

However, he ultimately belongs to the Piano Department.

There's nothing to be proud of from beating him, I will keep on working hard.

Therefore, I will go find Master Fei to become his student.

You mean Master Fei will accept you as his student?

I will work hard for it.

How come it's you?

Congratulations on winning the contest.

But I think your team's performance today was more brilliant.

You think so, too?

Actually, we really worked hard for today's performance.

And in the performance just now,

I really think we did our best.

The stage presence was great.

I think, with your potential, you can be my student.

Who says I want to be your student?

Hello?

Oh, okay. I'll head over now.

Okay, okay, you all can go first. Bye-bye.

What? Are you going to celebrate?

However, you really did impress me today.

Keep at it!

Zhuo Yin.

Aren't you supposed to be at the celebration party?

Why are you here?

I'm here to return your score.

What should I do? Team S is going to disband because of me.

It's not your fault. It's mine!

How could this happen?

I had such a hard time finding the happiness I had while playing in Team S.

It's not your fault; it's mine. I took the wrong score.

Don't cry! Don't cry!

Don't cry! It's my fault.

How come I took the wrong score?

Li Zhenyan!

It sounds good.

Do you know what I'm listening to that you say it sounds good already?

Of course, I do.

Since it is the sound of your heart, I can hear it very, very, very clearly.

So you found your way over here

also because you heard my heart?

I... I was just walking around.

Just walking around?

Then you should just walk back.

Okay, I came especially to find you.

Today, the team's performance

was the best performance I've seen of the team so far.

Yeah. But we still lost, didn't we?

Don't be sad! Didn't you say that you didn't care about winning or losing?

Being happy is the most important thing.

Stop sighing!

Be happier! Be happier!

Just be happier!

Okay, I am just playing around with you. I'm not that upset.

I came here to look at the view.

My four years are ending soon and I'll be graduating,

but I haven't really seen the campus.

I feel pretty regretful.

Then in your heart, you must be reluctant to leave.

- Why do you say that? - Because I went to so many places to find you.

I initially thought that you went to the meeting place but soon realized that you weren't there.

It's because that place contains everyone's memories.

Are you especially scared to face it?

Actually, I know you aren't upset because Team S lost

but rather, it's because Team S has to disband.

- Xiaowo... you— - Don't worry though!

If Team S really has to disband, we will never leave you.

Me too!

I must be crazy!

It has to be because the sunset is too pretty.

I'm hungry.

If you are hungry, let's head back and I will cook something for you.

You were so close to me before, were you going to kiss me?

You even closed your eyes.

- You closed your eyes! - I didn't! You must be mistaken.

I'm not mistaken! You still have a chance right now.

Come on! Come on! Come on!

You are crazy. Let's go!

Do you feel that it's such a pity?

Truly talented people

won't let one competition control them.

You see? They already let the whole school hear them, haven't they?

However, you still made them lose.

If they lose, they have to disband.

Rules are funny things.

If you want to defeat them,

you have to obey them first...

What evil plan are you brewing now?

Don't you know me the best? Guess!

Tell me the truth! What are you really thinking about?

Team S was originally the orchestra that I led.

Based on the rules, if I'm gone, then it will be, too.

There won't be any difference to now.

However, I really like Li Zhenyan.

I'll take him with me once he graduates.

Fei Sixing,

you went a whole circle because you want to have the cake and eat it, too. (TN: Chinese idiom. have both the fish and the bear's paw)

On the surface, Team A is the winner

but the biggest winner is actually Team S.

You let the whole school and the outside world know about Team S and Li Zhenyan,

then you want to take him away.

You aren't thinking about accepting him as a student, are you?

Why can't I?

Maestro Waynda also has the same idea.

I can't let him succeed.

All right, Fei Sixing!

I thought I called you to help me.

However, now it looks like I'm helping you, right?

Do we still have to make everything so clear cut between us?

Okay, okay, okay.

I remember that you really liked roses before

but why is your office full of green plants now?

Does your life not have color without me?

[Mario Paci Conservatory of Music]

[The Music Day Art Lecture: Team S's Disbandment Announcement]

What does this mean?

Are we disbanding or not?

Before Master leaves, practice runs as usual.

When is Master leaving?

Could it be that even after you all graduate,

Master still won't leave?

I don't know.

Master Fei.

Zhenyan, what's the matter?

Actually, I just wanted to come and say thank you.

Thank me? Why?

I was the one who decided Team A was the winner.

That actually, isn't important.

Thank you for your criticism and obstruction all this time.

No matter what your motive is, I should still say thank you.

Yeah, maybe my motive is not as noble as you think.

What do you mean?

All right, no need to thank me! I have things to do so head back first.

Fei She'er.

Who is she?

Oh hi, Elise.

When did you arrive in Shanghai? I was going to call you.

Look! This is for you.

At first, it was for one month, then, it turned into three months.

It's almost one year now so how could I not come?

Master Fei!

Master Fei She'er, answer me! How long do you want to keep playing at this little school?

I can't stall the host of performance contracts for much longer.

That's right! I was about to go back with you.

Look! Look.

Master Fei! Master Fei!

I am the world-famous conductor, Master Fei's secretary

- and manager. - Manager?

This is my business card.

If you have any relationship problems or performance matters,

please contact me without hesitation.

- Oh, right. Is Lin Yumian the headmaster of your school? - Yes.

Please tell her that I'm taking him away.

How can you do this to me?

Thank you for your criticism and obstruction all this time.

No matter what your motive is, I should still say thank you.

Yeah, maybe my motive is not as noble as you think.

Master Fei She'er,

Say, how long do you want to keep playing at this little school?

I can't stall the host of performance contracts for much longer.

This Fei She'er has been back here for so long without performing.

What exactly is he planning to do?

I wonder how he's doing now.

Good morning!

What are you doing?

Is the toilet at your house clogged again?

Not really! I'm here because your toothpaste smells so good.

I'm warning you! Don't let your toothbrush touch the mouth of my toothpaste.

It's too late.

What's going on? "Love you. Kiss Kiss."

Fang Xiaowo, do you think you're so beautiful?

Watch how I settle this with you!

What do you think? Not bad, right?

Mario Paci Conservatory of Music]

Fang Xiaowo?

Fang Xiaowo, what are you doing? Dancing?

No. This umbrella... why won't it open? What shall I do?

Let's go together! Let's go!

Come on, let's go!

- I'll get a little closer. - What are you doing?

- I-I-I... - I'm getting wet.

I'm... I'm getting wet!

Let's... I can't hold the umbrella this way.

- Don't change hands. - Wait, wait!

[#Goose is Here]

Could Master Fei have been taken away by a mysterious person?

I heard that Fei She'er was taken away that day

as if he was being kidnapped.

But think about it, Master hasn't taught us anything since he came.

Could he be an imitator and the police caught up to him?

Impossible! I looked at his picture on the Internet. It's really him.

- Should we report it to the police? - Not at all! He's safe.

How can you be so sure? Do you know who took him away?

I don't know! But I do know that if something had really happened to him,

the school wouldn't be so quiet about it.

That's true!

I heard it was a woman who took him away.

Could it be some scandal, right?

- Could it be Master's wife? - Impossible!

It says on the Internet that he isn't married.

- You know everything. - Why shouldn't I know?

Can't I surf the internet?

Sure! You're awesome.

Master is sometimes a little odd

but now that he's not around anymore, I actually quite miss him.

Senior, when do you think he'll come back?

I also don't know but that's exactly what I'm worried about.

What are you worried about?

If he doesn't come back, it's very possible that yesterday's notice from the school

will become true and Team S will be disbanded.

- No way. - No way.

- Then, let's hurry and think of a way to get him back. - Yes.

But the critical issue right now is we don't know how to get him back.

Li Zhenyan.

I really don't know what's so good about you.

The school has so many excellent students but they had to interview you.

Senior, is it really you?

- When did you do this interview? Why didn't you tell us about it? - How amazing!

That magazine is the most popular magazine in the music world.

If they want to interview someone, it should be someone like Senior Tian.

Who knows whether someone rigged some things and stole this opportunity?

I've just realized that you're contradicting yourself.

You, yourself, just said that this magazine has influence.

The magazine editor chose Senior Li so doesn't that mean that they approve of Senior Li?

As you were saying... if... if someone can rig something to get on this magazine, why didn't you try that?

- Exactly! - You should go and see if there's a niche for you.

Aren't you just calling grapes sour when you can't eat them? (TN: idiom. means being jealous.)

How can you be like this? So strange!

Why is it like this?

You all stay here and admire yourselves.

We're leaving.

"Li Zhenyan is fastidious and harsh."

"He's never been truly satisfied with himself and others."

- I want to see. Give it to me! - Go ahead! Read it.

Very well written, I think!

Your performance was truly brilliant.

Thank you.

However, we still lost and Team S will soon disband.

I think about it like this, as long as the people are still here,

I don't think disbanding will be such an issue for you all.

- What do you mean? - I think each member of your Team S is very special.

Moreover, what I just felt was the explosive energy of youth.

But the challenge was a big risk.

Why did you choose to take such a big risk during such an important competition?

Actually, it was for a fortuitous reason.

Because my teacher once told me that for a musician,

the happiest moments are when you're on stage.

That is when you can truly feel the power of the soul.

At the time, I was thinking that it could have been the last performance for Team S.

Therefore, I wanted everyone to feel that kind of happiness.

Now, thinking back on it, it wasn't a bad choice, right?

- Was the teacher you just mentioned Master Fei She'er? - No, no, it wasn't him.

Fei She'er is actually another very important teacher for us.

Because it was him who gave Team S such an important opportunity.

Then, may I be bold as to ask who the teacher you mentioned is?

It might not be convenient to tell you.

By the way, I'm very curious. I heard that you're a student in the piano department.

Then, why did you become a conductor?

Because, for me, conducting is

truly the most important dream I've had ever since I was young.

From what I know, your father is a famous pianist, Li Yazhe. Isn't that right?

How did you know that?

Don't forget! I'm a reporter. I once interviewed him many years ago—

If it's possible, could we not bring him up?

I understand. I'm sorry.

Thank you.

This is my business card.

- If you need something, you can come to find me. - Okay. Thank you.

Then, I'll be going. Good-bye.

Good-bye.

[Bei Shaofen]

Look, it's you! You're so handsome.

You can be on GQ!

What's GQ?

Mario Paci Conservatory of Music, special interview.

Headmaster, take a look!

Our school has finally been published in the Listen to Classics magazine.

Do you know what is written? They're saying that our school performance

is more innovative than the professional orchestral performances outside.

Even a student from the Piano Department can conduct remarkably

as a conductor.

- She still has some good taste. - That's right!

Tell me! I don't understand why they chose Li Zhenyan for the special interview.

I wanted Tian Yisong and Master Fei to do the special interview,

but Editor Bei had an eye for Li Zhenyan.

I think her taste is quite special.

- Is that so? - Yes.

So what Master Fei said is indeed right.

But I think this Team S should stay put.

This way, it'll be more beneficial to our school.

However, what's going on with Master Fei?

If he doesn't come back, then what's going to happen to Team S?

He should be coming back soon. After all, he has unfinished business here.

That's good then.

[Listen to Classics]

What? You want to call someone to rescue you?

Food! I want to order food.

Even if you're a kidnapper, you can't let your hostage starve to death so early.

- Here! This is your favorite. - (French) Thanks! But I want to eat braised pork.

Braised pork? In your dreams! Did you forget about your health physical results?

Eat whatever the assistant brings back later.

- What's wrong with my health physical results? Other than the three high results, nothing's wrong with me. - You have the three high results? (TN: high blood pressure, blood lipid, and blood sugar.)

That's right! High attractiveness, high IQ, and high popularity.

- I'm so worried. - Can you let me worry less about you?

I came back to China in order for you to worry less.

If you wanted not to worry about me, why did you follow me here? I'm all confused!

Stop right there! What did you tell me back then?

You said you came back for a vacation. In the end, where did you go for vacation?

You privately promised to be a visiting professor. Did you even ask me for my permission?

You're such a famous instructor, did you sign a contract?

- I... my favorite chocolates! - Answer my questions!

Elise.

Tell me! Why are you so petty and making a fuss?

Paci is my alma mater. Don't you agree?

Nurturing these kids is for the future of China

and the future of Chinese classical music. Isn't that so?

Don't try to trick me like those kids at Paci.

I don't think your motive is that simple.

Is it for your first love?

What first love? I don't understand what you're saying.

- There's a young lady outside. - Is she looking for me?

She's looking for Miss Elise.

Lin Yumian, Headmaster Lin, right?

Hello, you're Sixing's manager, right?

That's right! It's me.

You came to me to ask for him, right?

Not exactly to ask for him. To be precise, I'm here to persuade you.

Persuade me?

In this world, I think only money can persuade me.

I suffered great losses during his return here.

If you are really considering him, then you shouldn't only look at the benefits in front of you now.

Fei She'er's worth isn't something you can measure with money.

All that he's done at Paci, I don't know all of it

but I believe that he's someone that can change the fates of children who are learning music.

I wholeheartedly hope he can become their hero.

In this world, there probably aren't many people who understand him as you do.

Actually, knowing Fei She'er all these years, I've always been quite curious about you.

He has today, all thanks to you.

He can do as he wishes but I can't.

- Also, right now he— - Elise.

I went down to collect the take-out order just now and realized that Master Fei is gone.

What? This old guy! He's done for if I catch him.

Look! He can't stop for even a second.

Okay. We'll talk next time.

[Listen to Classics]

Don't you think it's weird? Team A clearly won,

but why did Li Zhenyan get the special interview?

- Do you want this magazine? - Not really.

- What exactly do you want to say? - Nothing.

I just wanted to warn you that I won't admit defeat regarding Tian Yisong.

Yisong? What does this have to do with him?

Caiwei?

Yisong.

What are you gals talking about?

I won't give you the opportunity.

Let's go, Yisong!

Tian Yisong.

Aren't you going to look at Listen to Classic's special interview with Li Zhenyan?

I don't need it anymore.

Let's go.

Do you know that Shasha likes you?

Caiwei, I think you've misunderstood.

I've only met her a few times so it's impossible for her to like me.

When Shasha got locked in the practice room, did it have anything to do with you?

Why are you asking like this?

Do you think I did that?

No, I don't know, either.

I also hope it's not how I think.

It's just that the reason was never cleared up

and I've been carrying the blame this whole time.

Is this issue still important?

Isn't your spot to go abroad already confirmed?

But I don't want others to keep suspecting

or pointing fingers at me for something that I didn't do.

At the same time, I also hope people won't think of you like that.

Caiwei, no matter what happens

we're each other's present and future.

We have to trust each other, okay?

Ji Mo, come over here. Hurry!

Help take a photo of me. Come!

Take one like he's talking to me.

- I can't take it. - Hurry! Come on, take it!

Make it look good! Find an angle that makes my face look slim.

Let me see!

No, make me look slimmer.

My waist is so thick! Help me find some angles.

How is it?

This one looks good.

- Quickly look! Does it look good? - It looks good.

Let's go print it out! Hurry!

Why did you print it out?

Because... this.

Team S is introduced in here

and Li Zhenyan is the cover of this magazine. Isn't he handsome?

With this, I can be considered as standing on the same stage as him.

Do you also want to be on stage?

Of course!

But a symphony orchestra doesn't have a piano.

Since I'm Team S's lucky charm, I need to put in my effort, too.

This is my first time being in a magazine.

I have to keep it.

Okay. I'll get going and find Li Zhenyan.

Let's meet next time!

Thank you.

[Little Curtain]

Why do you look anxious?

Not really! Our Team S disbanded.

How could I not be anxious?

Who said Team S is disbanded? Aren't we all here?

- Why did you stick yourself in the center? - The most important person should be in the center.

Oh right, Fei She'er is the founder of our Team S.

I think we should go look for him right now.

- Let's go! - Don't be so impulsive!

We don't even know where Fei She'er is and you're going to look for him?

Do you want to know where Master Fei is?

Dad, do you know?

Ask her and you'll know.

Dad, stop beating around the bush! Can you?

Your Headmaster Lin.

You all don't know?

Back then, when your grandpa was the chef,

Headmaster Lin and Master Fei

were Paci's famous school couple.

Master Fei came back from abroad for Headmaster Lin.

How could someone so deep in love leave just like that?

He definitely is still in touch with Headmaster Lin.

- Let's go! - That year...

I haven't finished talking yet!

You're not going to thank me? If it wasn't for me, you wouldn't have had a chance to escape.

So I brought you

to the place of our first date.

You remember it quite well.

Say it!

Elise showed up and suddenly took you away for what reason?

Nothing. It's just...

What?

I have a few performances in Europe so she wants me to go back.

When I told you to come, you said you were on vacation for one year.

You said that you didn't have any performances.

If you told me to come here, it would be obligatory.

She wants to rush me, then just let her be! I'll definitely do what I promised you.

Moreover, I still have a lot of things I haven't finished yet.

Let her rush me! Even if you chase me out, I won't leave.

- Such a nonsense! - Let's not talk about this.

Let's go eat noodles, okay? Let's go!

But I don't have money, can you treat me to lunch?

All right, since we confirmed that he is back, then let's not disturb them.

- Let's go! - I never knew Fei She'er would have such an affectionate side to him.

So nice!

Would you treat me like that when I'm old?

Would you only like me, no one else, during this lifetime?

You'll only treat me well.

Answer me! Will you only treat me well?

- How come we're always third wheels no matter where we go? - Li Zhenyan!

Let's go, third wheel.

Then how are you planning to explain to Elise?

Don't worry! She has things to take care of today. She only took care of me for that night.

If she still dares to come, then I'll show her what I got.

Why are you here?

Why can't I be here?

- Get inside. - No.

- Get inside! - No!

Get inside.

Are you here to look for me?

That's right! I came to remind you

that he can't stay here just because of you.

I know about that matter but he has to finish what he promised me before he leaves.

Besides, he came back this time not because of me only.

You should clearly know about this, shouldn't you?

You two indeed understand each other.

That's right! He came back because of someone

but that person isn't you.

Perhaps, they were earlier than you.

I know who that person is.

Okay. I came to tell you

that I promised Fei She'er to give you another month.

But since I helped you with this,

I hope you can do a favor for me.

Fei She'er needs you to help me complete something.

Elise?

Can we discuss it?

One month. Just one month!

This can't be discussed.

Didn't you agree to let me take on a student?

That person right there was someone I was considering.

- For real? - I wouldn't lie to you.

Elise? Elise, let's discuss it. Okay?

If I break the agreement again, then... I-I'll accept your punishment. Would that be okay?

If you lie to me again, I'll add ten more worldwide performances.

Ten performances? Are you crazy?

Take a look at your schedule, how many performances did you cancel?

I'm not looking.

- Elise! - One month.

Okay, I'll agree to it.

- Can I get out of the car now? - No way!

I'm your manager, you need to discuss your schedule and negotiations with me.

As for that Headmaster Lin, I'll wait for her to come and find me.

- Come back with me. - I'm not going back with you.

Okay, I brought you a present. Go back and open your present!

Really? What present? Cologne or...

I don't want anything. Really!

So you're saying that he's about to accept a student?

[Mario Paci Conservatory of Music]

You said before that if Team A wins,

then you'll consider about accepting me as your first student.

Yes, I said I would consider it

but it's still under consideration.

So... you're still considering between me and Li Zhenyan?

Is that right?

He lost the competition though.

This isn't fair.

Do you think everything I did was fair?

Master, if that's the case,

then just tell me directly.

Who will you choose between me and him?

You and Li Zhenyan are both talented.

As for who I'll pick,

you have to go through a special test.

- What test? - Don't be anxious! You'll know soon.

Master, don't worry! Whatever test it is, I'll pass it.

Is there anything you need?

Fei She'er is back.

- That means Team S won't disband. - It seems like you already know.

Then you also know that there will be a test for us, right?

Fei She'er said he'll pick one of us to be his student.

Is that so?

It's such a rare opportunity, do you really not care?

I didn't say that.

I just want to tell you that everyone has their own idea of success.

If success to you means to surpass others, then you're fated to lose

because you'll always meet a stronger and more talented opponent.

But if you just want to surpass yourself, then that's actually really easy.

You just need to work hard and you'll definitely succeed.

Forget it. We have different perspectives.

There's no point in saying any more.

I came to tell you that I'll try my best and pass this test to become his student.

Good luck!
