Mother

Hurry...

Sir, please don't take my child away

Let me go...

Sir, I beg you

I'll return your daughter after you clear the debts

Sir, once I reap my harvest I'll repay you

What else do you have?

In any event you'll sell to Mr. Li

No,

even if I have to sell my lands I'll repay you

don't take my daughter away

I beg you, sir

My child...

Madam, grieve no more

we could take this to the court

It's no use

they are all in it together

With every passing day the world is more unreasonable

Yes

First the high interest

then grabbing their child as collateral

Would you believe

tonight her daughter will be sold to

Wei Hong Yuan and defiled

Don't be afraid...

I will teach you interesting things

Come

Who are you?

The Swift Knight

What do you want?

I've come here for three things

Firstly, to take this girl away

Alright, I'll let go...

Secondly, to burn all the IOU's you hold

How could you do this?

You...

Thirdly, to get 500 taels of silver to pay

for the medical expenses and livelihood of her family

I don't have so much silver

You...

I don't believe you only have this much

I only have this amount

I just gave 1000 taels to the magistrate yesterday

Alright, I'll not search your home today

I'll go to the magistrate's place some other day then

Thief

Do you know the way?

Yes

Go home then

But hero, you...

I know how to handle this

Chase...

Hurry...

I am the Swift Knight, I can leave without a trace

What's up? Go and look

Oh no, there is a bandit around here

This place is not safe

It's no big deal

the thief won't bother us poor citizens

The Swift Knight robbed the oppressive Li

He has good judgment

I also heard he wrote a letter to the magistrate

asking to prepare for him a thousand taels of silver

The Swift Knight

Stand in line, one by one

Stand in line...

Checking

Line up to enter the city

Lead me to the magistrate, I have important business

What? You want me to lead the way?

No? Don't you know who he is?

How did you become a constable?

You dare insult me

I tell you

I have orders to check all passers by

You'll never get through if I don't let you

They look suspicious, search them

Yes

What impudence! Stand down

Search

I ask you, what makes you so arrogant?

"Imperial envoy"

So you two are...

This is imperial envoy lord Jia

I am sorry for being impolite

please forgive me

Pardon me...

You didn't know who I was, now lead the way

Yes, my lord, but I have some difficulty

What would that be?

My lord

I have been ordered to capture the Swift Knight

so I cannot leave my post

I beg your understanding

I'll lead the way

What? Who are you?

It's on my way so I'll take you there

Who needs your help!

Who is he?

Damn, if you don't know, how would I?

The Swift Knight?

The Swift Knight won't kill without reason

There's treachery here

Be careful everyone

Yes

We let him escape last time

we must be on heavy guard this time

He can't escape even

if he has wings

If he dares come again

he'll be trapped

Your Excellency

since I am in need of cash flow

I need to borrow a thousand taels from you

and will be taking it from you tonight

I hope you'll do the needful - The Swift Knight

What insolence!

Who is it?

Thief

How can you catch the Swift Knight like that?

He is suspicious, come arrest him

I dare you

Arrest him

Who dares fight with me, I'll kill him

He's out-numbered, fear him not

Sir

They're all useless

It's not worth to kill

Let me get the Swift Knight for you

You'll catch The Swift Knight?

I am Jia Ling and I have just come from the capital

Let the magistrate look at it

Imperial envoy

You're the Imperial envoy

I am sorry if I crossed you

please pardon me

To check out your ability, I had to use force

please pardon me too

Sir, I'm embarrassed by your words

my men are useless

Let's talk inside

Please

Danger, get away

Hey busybody, let's go

Thank you

Uncle, please be careful

Where are you off to?

I hear there's a restaurant nearby and wanted to go there

You want to eat? I'll take you there

Where's he gone?

Qin Ruo...

Lost again

What? Giving up?

I'll pledge this for five taels

Let me see

It's not worth five taels, at the most one tael

Oh damn, alright I'll take it

Come...

Sit here

Damn, my rotten luck to see a beggar today

What's that smell?

Go away...

Not today, scram

What's up?

Sorry...

What's up?

Sorry...

This kid is good

You want to fight?

What?

I am just a poor beggar

you'll be punished for kicking a destitute

What?

Sorry

Damn kid

How could you bully this beggar?

He's my guest

Oh? A beggar for a guest?

What a joke

Get out right now

or I'll call constable Ji

Constable Ji?

Sorry to have caused trouble here

It's okay, they're locals

and always here to take advantage of me

Let me buy you a drink; Qin Ruo, get the wine

Qin Ruo?

Do you have a sister?

Yes

Is her name Xian Qin?

You know her?

No, I've just heard of her though. Where is she now?

In Wei Hong Yuan

Sit over here

Hey, put your hands down

You scared me. Come, sit down

A stinking beggar isn't worthy to grab a lady's hand

Don't be so harsh

He saved me

and drove away the gang of rogues

You're too kind

Even that, he shouldn't be so reckless

It's you who said man and woman shouldn't be too close

What do you mean? I am no prostitute

I told you

not to operate this tavern

You'd better...

Nuisance

Constable...

What's up?

The magistrate is getting mad

Speak up

Return to the court at once

Why?

The Swift Knight has killed people

You as constable are still flirting with women

and not doing your job, this is unacceptable

What? The magistrate knows I'm here?

Of course

How does he know?

That's because...

Look at me when I'm speaking

Because I reported it to the magistrate

What? He reported it to the magistrate?

You just asked us

to report to the magistrate that

there was a murder in the bamboo forest

I have to be at Hang Fa

so I reported the incident as it happened

Damn

Come and have a drink

Sir...

Let me pour you a drink

Okay...

Be sure you keep our guests happy

It's alright

Sir, you're really great

let me raise you a toast

What's her name?

Xian Qin, she's still a virgin

Xian Qin

She came from the capital

I heard her mother was a palace maid

but she died recently. And so

she ends up here, having to provide for younger brother

So Mr Li bought her?

What do you mean?

Mr Li comes from a reputable family

why would he engage in white slave traffic?

If you like her, it's easy

Just tell me...

No, I want to buy her

Now that's not so easy

With her looks

she'll earn me big money

Just tell me how much you want?

Three - no - say, five hundred taels, how about that?

Here is the deposit

I'll bring the balance tonight

but she can't serve any more customers

Of course

You'll have her tonight

Xian Qin, where are you?

Dress up, have a bath, hurry

We are honoured by your patronage

Follow me, have a seat there

Sister

Qin Ruo

I really wanted to see you so I couldn't resist coming

Really?

But I told you not to come here

Go back before someone sees you

Have you been well?

I'm fine

I'm just worried about you

Thanks

Let's escape, shall we?

What are you saying?

Nothing, whenever I have time I will visit you

Really? Could you go out?

Are you free?

What are you doing?

Hey kid, what are you doing here?

When did he come?

He passed this way and dropped in to see me

You want to escape again?

No

Woman from the capital?

Yes, she came here with two kids over ten years ago

her daughter should be 17 to 18 years old now

and her son would be about twelve or thirteen

Is there such a family at Dong Yang County?

Havent heard of it

The purpose of my trip is to look for this family

especially the two kids

They must be important

The court has sent you to look for them too

It's supposed to be confidential so don't ask

Yes, I'll send someone to look for them

Your lordship

Well? Have you got any lead?

Not yet

So what are you doing here?

Didnt you send for us?

I sent for you?

There might be a lead

maybe that... person

Speak up

Yes, while I was guarding the gate during the day

two men came and

asked me to lead them to see you

I replied I have orders to search passers by

and shouldn't leave my post

at which point a weirdo appeared

and volunteered to take them to see you

Then...

Then what happened?

Then...

Then they went to the Hang Fa Restaurant

and he grabbed her ass

What?

It wasnt so

Yes it was, you hugged her like this

You bastard, how dare you utter such things?

It must be that weirdo

Weirdo?

Are you referring to me?

Yes, that's him, don't run

What are you laughing at, don't fool me

Stop pretending

you can't run

Shut up

Damn, you are all blind

No, my judgement can't be wrong

I can well distinguish a criminal. That's him

Shut up, you dare insult him, step down

Sir, I have orders to arrest the Swift Knight

for a reward of 50 taels of silver

You are dreaming, bastard

This is Imperial Envoy Jia Ling

What? No way

The murdered man said he's called Jia Ling

Sir, is this the way you treat your guests

letting your man insult them?

No, please forgive his ignorance

No, I can't be wrong

I know my judgment is right

Throw him into the prison

What, arrest me?

Arrest him

Constable, sorry

Sir, him

What do you mean by this?

I am innocent

Let's go

Where is Xian Qin?

Where are you off to?

You can't leave without sister Yu's permission

Your man is waiting inside

you can't disappoint him

You are already deep into this

might as well be more determined

and earn more money

Don't force my hand, go in

I was right, you bitch

Taking you to be quite wise I treated you well

but you don't know what's good for you

and want to escape

You simply don't heed what I say

You bitch

I'll teach you a lesson you'll never forget

What is it?

Sister Yu is teaching someone called Xian Qin a lesson

What did she do wrong?

She refused to entertain guests

Though presently her family status has declined

she hails from a noble family

Really? Then who's going to go call her here?

Why are you hesitating?

I want her to accompany me, ask her here

Sir, to be frank

someone has already redeemed her

Who? That person drinking in the front room?

Yes

Has he paid the whole sum?

He paid a deposit and will pay the balance tonight

What? Tonight

Since I paid for you

you are mine; C'mon, get on the bed

Are you crying?

I want to die right now

You hate me?

I hate my life

Dressed as a beggar but in reality a thief

a promiscuous thief at that

I'm no thief, I have a favour to ask

Please forgive my barging in

What's the matter?

Please let me have this girl

I'll pay you later

Why do you also want her?

I can't disclose the reason

Then I won't budge

You really won't?

Even if I will, my sword won't

Let's fight some other day

Remember, unless paying the full sum you can't have her

What's the matter?

The Swift Knight would soon appear

He is good, he could escape from here easily

Why don't we answer his request

get the silver ready and set a trap for him

But the girl...

I'll deal with her

Go on then, if the magistrate is not at his residence

The Swift Knight might not come

How are you getting on with that matter?

What? Can't even deal with a beggar?

What's the matter?

Nothing

Go, kill him

Yes, let's go

I'm going out for a while, stay here

and don't leave for anything

We put an identifying mark on it

if it's stolen, at least we have a lead

It's the midnight bell

It's time, I wonder if he would come

Intruder...

It's a trap, don't leave here

The Swift Knight

The Swift Knight

Attack

Escape, quick

Go on

Who are you?

You'll be beheaded at dawn

Why would I be? I haven't broken the law

What a joke, strange!

Let's go, quick

Only you know the weirdo is an impostor

so he's after your life to silence you

Who is he anyway?

The henchman of prince Jie, a real cruel man

he's nicknamed Zhu Pao of Hell

Zhu Pao of Hell?

Sir

What's the matter?

Someone is storming the jail

What?

Damn, I'll go and take a look

Yes

Don't run... stop... grab him...

Stop...

Has anyone seen the Ji Fu?

The Swift Knight took him away

The Swift Knight?

"The Swift Knight"

Fear not, here's the ransom money for Xian Qin

The total amount is paid, she belongs to me

Thank you

I should have asked for more

Damn you, here are 500 taels of silver

there couldn't be a better offer

I still feel Xian Qin is worth a lot more

When I was a servant at her home

I heard her dying mother speak to her

What did she say?

You have blue blood

and someday someone will come for you

Could her mother

have had a relationship with that person?

I think so too

Swift Knight, where is that girl?

You've got your silver

and now you hide her

Where is she? Speak

Chase

Sister

Get on the carriage, quick

This is ridiculous

you've stolen my girl, give her back

Wait, it's not the time for a fight

let's fight another day

Leave things to me here

Take the lady and Qin Ruo to Duan Chang Cliff

What about you?

I'll join you as soon as I can

Let's hide in the cave

Okay, I'll take care of the carriage

So you are the Swift Knight

I should have arrested you and got the reward

Ji Fu

Smells good

Uncle...

Very serious

He must take the antidote or it'd be too late

Don't worry, I won't die

Uncle, please save him

Okay, I'll go to Xiu De temple to get the medicine

Ji Fu, guard them well

Yes

A thousand taels of silver gone for nothing

The silver is no big deal

the important thing is to get back the two kids

The emperor is seriously ill

and once he dies there is no heir

If there're any invaders our country will be in trouble

The son of the prince regent

might be a possible candidate

He doesn't have the quality of a king;

besides, the king already has a son

The king once favoured a palace maid

who was banished from court after the affair

The king however continued to visit her surreptitiously

and she bore him a son and a daughter

Eventually it became the king's own hush-hush affair

Then Secret Service was sent to wipe out her family

However she and her child escaped the calamity and it's

rumoured they are hiding out in Dong Yang of Jiang Nan

Please depart for this place at once

and seek them back to the capital

Zhu Pao

It's been rumoured that the Emperor has a son

The prince and princess are in Dong Yang county

and the vice regent has sent for them

You must be on your way at once and

start off for the capital after dawn to deliver this

confidential letter to the vice regent's son

Yes

Remember, neither you nor others

should read the letter

Guard it with your life

Yes

So Xian Qin and Qin Ruo are the vice regent's...

Don't ask too many questions, ignorance is a bliss

Uncle...

Xian Qin, you aren't from here, are you?

How did you know that?

We moved from the capital

Do you remember the old times there?

I was very young

While there, I remember

one night robbers came and attacked

and wiped out grandpa and his family

Mother and we all

hid in the cellar for one whole day and night

and escaped from the capital after the robbers left

So the three of you

lived here all your life

Until last year when mother died

Did your mother leave a will when she died?

Why do you ask?

I'd like to know

We have been trying to forget this

I would like to know if the

robbers are still looking for you two

I want to help you

but I need to know the contents of the will first

Who are you?

Oh, I'm just a vagabond beggar

No, you are no ordinary person

Never mind, time is running out

Please tell me

You still don't believe me

No, when mother died...

In the cabinet

Mother

there is a sack

Mother

After I die you should keep it well

and don't lose it for anything

You have blue blood

and someone will come for you

Mother...

Just wait

Mother...

We have been waiting for someone to fetch us

That someone is here

Where?

Unfortunately he is dead

That weirdo is called Zhu Pao

and he was sent to kill you both

by the son of the prince regent

I was right

my judgement couldn't be wrong

The magistrate is foolish

and mistakenly locked me up

Why would they want to kill us?

With you alive, prince Jie could not ascend the throne

But I don't want to get involved

in their quarrel

You are already destined

Where are your mother's effects?

In Wei Hong Yuan

When I escaped I couldn't carry anything

Damn

How could you have forgotten something so important?

I want no riches or glory

I only want to be an ordinary citizen

and lead a peaceful existence

We have to think of a way to leave here

We don't know the Swift Knight's background

and what are his intentions!

Uncle, with your wounds still fresh you can't move

Yes, we have to take care of the poison

or it'll be dangerous

We can't be bothered with that now

we must leave early

and get back the clothes

I'm fine

Where are you headed?

You want to exploit this opportunity?

I paid for this woman

I must take them with me no matter what

You want to claim the reward, right?

Let us pass

No way, unless you killed me

The Swift Knight

Secret Service?

I am the secret service commander Liu Xuan Ping

Prince regent commanded me to carry out his orders

if anyone stands in the way he'll be dead

So, a cur of the government, huh!

I am the Swift Knight and

I defy your government

Okay, we'll decide who dies today

Your wounds are not yet healed

you might not be my match

Wait

So the secret service is also afraid to die

I am not afraid of dying

my life is less important than the country

After you kill me

please escort them to the prince regent's court

Come on

They are Zhu Pao's men

Lord Liu...

They're here, go quickly

Let's leave

Wait, I'll get uncle's sack

Okay

Constable

Yes

Could you do me a favour?

Yes

The situation is urgent now

If we don't report to the prince regent in time

they will be attacked

Please go to the capital for me

Yes

Ji Fu might not be able to carry this out

The journey is long

and he might be ambushed by Zhu Pao's men

I'll go

You?

Am I not eligible?

Why would you want to help us?

Out of a sense of justice

that's what heroes do

Let me handle this

So Swift Knight, it's in your hands now

The 'Swift Knight' name is just a make-shift

my real name is Lei Fang

Brother Lei, I leave it in your good hands

When my wounds are healed I'll look for the clothes

Hero Lei, don't go

I am a royal descendent no doubt

But rather than enjoy riches

and oppress the people,

I'd prefer to be with you all my life

You're wrong, lady

I admire you the way you are;

simple and sincere

I appreciate your kind intentions

But you must realise

I am a petty vagabond

Please try to forget me

You have bought me

why don't you want me?

The situation is different now

I don't want you to go

We found the two persons you commanded us to look for

It's been accomplished

We wish you'd accomplish your task and ascend the throne

Your servant Zhu Pao

You will be rewarded

Thank you

Since you know the secret

you must die

You trash, how dare you eavesdrop!

Nice figure... come on, men

Your highness

Escort her to the cellar

Yes

Tell us who sent you

Well?

I will tell you...

Hurry

His highness

My father?

His highness said the prince's room...

Prepare for the journey

Hurry, or his majesty will find out

Zhu Pao is not brutal enough, damn it

Where's Jie?

The emperor is seriously ill

he is trying to figure things out

How useless!

Who are you?

Your majesty

I came from Tung Yan county

by the orders of commander Liu

So I see, how did he do?

Has he found the prince and princess?

Yes

Great, where are they now?

Tell me, where are they?

He's here, grab him and we'll get the reward

Right, then we could open a branch

Where did you hide Xian Qirs sack?

I don't know

Speak up

Didnt you use it for betting?

I lost a lot that day

Speak up

That's the day when I met you

I pledged it to borrow chips to gamble

Sorry about this then, go over there

Scent of a woman?

It can't be, it's uncle Liu's

That's strange

He is very promiscuous

How could the clothing be with...

Master Liu...

Ah, got it

That day when

uncle Liu was fighting...

Stop fighting...

Stop fighting...

So that's what happened

We'll have to tell uncle Liu

otherwise he'll be in danger roaming around

Right, let me go and tell him quickly

You two stay put

Lord Liu, didn't see you for a while

our encounters were brief

and now I see your real face today

What is your business here?

My affairs ain't any of your business

I know even if you don't tell me

There's much gold here

So long as you help us

you could be promoted and get rich

why waste your life on those two kids

Speak for yourself

I lay down my life for my principles

Lord Liu, the clothing is found

What?

Miss

Miss... Qin Ruo

They're gone

Must have been taken away by our men

Sir, so what brings you here?

Attack

Capture him

Yes

Prince, the two kids are captured

and sent to the magistrate's office

Useless fool, you should execute them on the spot

You are devils, beasts

Execute them

Yes

Stop

Attack

Sir, we're here to help you

Thank you all

Sir, hurry and go

Take them away

Yes

Kill them

Yes

Come over here or they die

Hero Lei

Hero Lei

Princess, congratulations on your return

I must thank you for your help

Take care, princess

Don't address me as princess

I'd rather just be Xian Qin

You are too modest

Hero Lei, no matter where you go

I am willing to follow and serve you

You are of royal blood

I am merely a vagabond

Moreover, my hands are full of blood

which will never wash clean

I wish your hands would be clean from now on

I will always remember what you say

It's late, you'd best be on your way

Hero Lei, is there nothing that will change your mind?

I have decided to become a farmer

But I sure hope one day you will change your mind

Take care

Hero Lei... wait for us!
