Something priceless we found in the dark tunnel of 2020.

To us, that was the miracle.

(Filming was in compliance with COVID-19 guidelines.)

Our everyday moments...

only seemed rightful.

Emotions were conveyed by our hands.

- Yes! - Nice!

And we spent time in close proximity.

Together, we went to school.

Together, we celebrated our birthdays.

Together, we played sports.

Together, we sang songs.

And together, we shared meals.

We lived in joy because of those shared moments.

But before we knew it,

the moments we normally shared disappeared...

and our ordinary lives came to a stop.

However, we picked up our lives by adjusting to this strange world.

We may not be physically close,

but we communicated to share our moments.

By leaning in to listen to smaller voices,

we were able to hear each other through our eyes.

And like that, in this new world,

we've been trying our best to be together.

Can you hear our desperate desire to share our moments with you?

We sing like always today...

hoping for the day where we can finally meet again.

We miss hearing your cheers in person.

We hope to see you soon. We love you!

Thank you.

(That day will come again, so let's keep smiling.)

Come on!

- What? - Get up!

Hands up!

The 2020 SBS Gayo Daejeon in Daegu.

The first performance was meaningful.

That's right.

The junior and senior singers performed together.

This year, too many things changed.

The performance was prepared...

to comfort and root for everyone.

The performance of "Stoning" in particular...

showed the medical teams and first aiders...

who worked at the frontline in preventing...

the spread of COVID-19 last spring.

In Daegu, the city that succeeded to stop the spread of the epidemic,

we followed the guidelines and filmed the SBS Gayo Daejeon...

in advance.

That's right. All the waiting rooms and the stage have been disinfected.

We are using separate microphones.

All the staff members before my eyes...

are wearing masks.

You can rest assured.

It isn't just Korea,

but the entire world that is struggling due to COVID-19.

At times like this, I hope we will join forces...

and overcome COVID-19 soon.

I can't wait to be reunited with the global K-pop fans.

Right.

Hee Chul, you look disappointed.

Are you disappointed?

Yes. Seriously.

We sacrificed so much because of COVID-19.

- I know. - Despite that,

- everyone is faring well. - Yes.

The global K-pop fans are waiting.

Do you want to meet them?

It's a miracle to be here together.

Because of that,

the keyword of the 2020 SBS Gayo Daejeon is...

The Wonder Year.

What could be the keyword of Part One?

- What could it be? - The keyword of Part One.

Are you wondering? Are you curious?

- I am curious. - I am very curious.

- I'm very curious. - Please tell us.

The theme of Part One is Do you wonder?

The artists who debuted this year or kept the public curious...

with their remarkable activities...

are getting ready to perform.

Who will be the first artists...

to take the stage?

Who will they be?

They are the rookie singers who will make 2021 shine.

Do you wonder?

- Yes! Totally! - Totally!

Shall we begin?

The Wonder...

- Stage! - Stage!

(2020 SBS Gayo Daejeon in Daegu)

(Wonder Message, BTS)

- 2, 3, bangtan. - Bangtan.

- Hello, we're BTS. - Hello, we're BTS.

(BTS' wonder message)

Jimin, in 2020, was there a moment that...

you personally found wonderous?

Being able to finish our concert without any problems...

and being able to meet our fans in real time during the concert.

I think that was a true miracle.

(That moment that felt like a miracle to Jimin.)

V, was there a reason that wondrous moment...

was even more special?

Although unfortunately, we couldn't perform in front of our ARMY fans,

I always think and believe that...

ARMY is here right in front of us.

That's why it felt like a miracle.

(Moved)

- Jin. - Yes?

Is there a reason why that moment was more wondrous?

We all worked hard to prepare together.

We were able to show the world everything that we worked hard on,

so that moment was more wondrous to me.

That's right.

Can you say a word to our members...

who had a miraculous year in 2020, Jungkook?

You guys all worked so hard, and I want to thank you.

Not only in 2020,

but ever since our debut, we all worked so hard with ARMY.

So you all are admirable.

- Admirable. - Admirable.

I want to say we're all admirable.

The people who went through so much,

worked harder than anyone else,

and constantly worked hard...

are the six members of our team.

You guys all worked so hard, I want to thank you,

and let's finish up this year well.

That's what I want to tell you guys.

- And to Yoon Gi, who isn't here, - Right.

- I hope you get better soon, - That's right.

- Suga. - so all of us can get together.

(We hope you will get better soon, Suga.)

Shall we say something wonderful to ARMY,

who made it possible for us to have such a wondrous year?

- Right. - Something wonderful...

Honestly, everyone is going through the same thing right now.

And despite going through a difficult situation yourself,

supporting a different person is a hard and amazing thing.

That's why I'm grateful, and thanks to you, we were able to be strong.

I hope you can get influenced by us and be strong.

You went through a lot this year,

and I hope that you will stay healthy and happy in the future.

Let's do an acrostic poem with "Wonder".

- Jimin. - W.

We want you to be...

- D. - Driven to be more careful...

so that this ends quickly, and we can meet ARMY...

and have a concert soon.

We hope that everyone joining us right now...

will also have miraculous moments.

- That's right. - We love you!

- Happy holidays! - Happy holidays!

Your wish will come true today.

From this moment, a miracle will occur.

Merry Christmas!

From a performance by the future wonder girls of K-pop...

to a special performance that was brought to you...

only on SBS Gayo Daejeon as a Christmas gift.

It's as if Santa just paid a visit.

H, a, p, p, y. I couldn't be happier.

- You're happy? - Yes!

That's also the case for me too.

However, this isn't the end.

The 2020 SBS Gayo Daejeon in Daegu.

where we still have many surprises left for you,

so please look forward to them.

Don't even think about changing the channel.

- That's right. - In 2020,

we were gifted with the release of great songs.

That is why I call 2020...

- the wonder year. - The wonder year.

Many wonders came our way.

Also in the music industry, we saw many grand performances.

Hee Chul, is there a song, artist, or performance...

that comes to mind when you think of 2020?

First of all, I have to mention...

"Lalalilala" by April whose member is our very own Na Eun.

Then there's also aespa.

I am aespa, there can't be two

And don't forget ITZY.

Not, not, not, not shy

Gosh, that's embarrassing.

Hee Chul, please.

Can't you listen to some songs by boy bands?

I know a lot of them actually.

There's H.O.T, right?

I make my own world

Gosh, you're old.

I just wanted you to know that I know songs by boy bands.

You should know that boy bands...

- have been trending this year. - Really?

I'm sure you're aware of the first Korean artist...

- to top the Billboard 100. - Of course.

There are many boy bands whose albums went platinum...

and many others...

who put themselves on the map...

among K-pop fans.

Yes, they've all been astonishing.

They've all been astonishing.

But we can't forget about the addictive girl groups.

The girl groups were a wonder.

- I know that. - You know that, right?

But think of the powerful dance that rips up the stage.

Boy groups can show that.

You are right, but...

Is this wonder boys versus wonder girls?

- It's a match. - All right.

- It's a match. - Really?

- Let's go. - Bring it on.

I will introduce the wonder girls' performances first.

Let's see if you can stay still...

upon listening to their music.

All right. The Wonder...

- Stage! - Stage!

("Lalalilala" by April)

Hang on.

Didn't you just suddenly stop humming along?

No, I did not. You must wait until the end.

Where did Na Eun go? She went over there

Oh, she's preparing to perform.

- Are you sure? - Yes, I was calling for Na Eun.

But I honestly saw you dance too.

Shouldn't you just own up? Do you admit to it?

Seeing them perform for real, there's no way I can't admit it.

However, our boy groups' performances are just as good.

Hee Chul, do you know a hot group whose name ends in Z?

- In Z? - They're hot.

If they're a hot Z, it must be Buzz!

Memories of you

Our past love

- Yes, Buzz is hot too. - They are.

But there's are more hot K-pop groups.

- There are more? - Yes.

- Who are they? - They're ATEEZ.

And also Stray Kids and THE BOYZ.

Did you know about that?

Of course, I did.

That's an impressive group of guys.

I'm very excited, so can you introduce them already?

- I want to see them. - Very well.

Boom, let's go!

- The Z boys - The Z boys

To their special stage.

You can see this only on 2020 SBS Gayo Daejeon.

An upgraded limited edition special performance will begin now.

- The Wonder Stage! - Stage!

("God's Menu" by Stray Kids)

(2020 SBS Gayo Daejeon in Daegu)

- They were amazing. - This is it!

- Wow. - Why is everyone so cool nowadays?

This is it.

This is K-pop.

Hee Chul. You admit that they were all really cool, right?

What did you think about them? Do you admit they're good?

I admit it.

- Thank you. - Good.

But the two of you had such a meaningless competition.

Whether they're a boy band or a girl group,

they were all full of charms.

Not only that, everyone made such an effort for their fans.

That's right. In order to get closer to them...

and to communicate with them,

they all made a lot of effort to do their best...

wherever they were.

The results of that were...

the undying love for K-pop around the world.

- We were able to see that today. - That's right.

Recently, there was a survey that showed this too.

Do you know who...

K-pop fans around the world chose...

as the most anticipated artist in 2021?

- I know. - There are so many.

They are number one in my heart. Super Junior.

You're Super Junior!

- It's an honor. You're Boom! - Goodness.

It is the group...

that put on an amazing performance during Do you wonder?

It is TREASURE!

The future of K-pop is really bright.

It is blinding. Don't you agree?

- Yes, I do. - Right.

Then who do you think was chosen as the artist...

they want to spend the end and beginning of the year with?

There are so many to choose from.

There are too many. This one is close.

- There are so many. - I'm curious.

That's why the last performance of Part One...

has been prepared by this group.

Oh, I see them. Everyone, do you see them?

- Can you see them? - Yes.

It's their fairytale-like story that will play like a panorama.

Come a bit closer. Do you see it?

- You can see them over there. - Let's see.

It's IZ ONE's performance that stole my heart.

- That's right. IZ ONE. - Yes.

It's a performance by IZ ONE, the artist most people want to spend...

the end and beginning of the year with.

Shortly in Part Two, we will continue with this energy...

as many K-pop artists have prepared many wonderful...

and colorful performances.

So don't miss out and enjoy the performances.

- Right. - Yes. We will continue to follow...

the quarantine guidelines until the last performance,

and do our best in our respective places and be careful.

Shall we see the last performance...

- of Part One? - Yes.

The Wonder...

- Stage! - Stage!
