A Love So Romantic

Episode 8

Gu Yanxi applies medicine for Xiaowan. Lady Ru has a plan of hot spring pool.

Gu Mansion

Hey.

Mr. Yanxi,

can't you be gentle to an injured person?

You're a great actress.

Mr. Yanxi,

how could you say I was Wan'er

in front of Lady Ru?

You wouldn't have been spared if I didn't do this.

I...

Qiuxiang, apply the medicine.

Yes.

Men are unpredictable.

How could it be?

Call Ma Xiaoliu.

Madam, don't panic.

This happened abruptly.

There's something fishy about it.

Yes.

Why don't we check it out?

Yes,

we should.

Wan'er!

Wan'er!

Wan'er!

Mother-in-law,

what brings you here?

I heard someone was torturing Wan'er.

Mother-in-law, calm down.

I seriously had no idea

that was Wan'er.

Where is Wan'er?

Tell me!

Mother-in-law,

watch your health.

Yanxi

has brought Wan'er away.

Bring me there at once.

If anything happens to Wan'er,

I'll make you pay!

Yes.

Mother-in-law,

I'll go with you.

Take care.

It's

all my fault.

Qiuxiang,

don't tell a soul

about what you're going to hear.

Yes, Mr. Yanxi.

Xiaowan,

we only have limited time.

Let's check our explanation

to prevent blowing our covers.

To prevent blowing our covers?

Do you seriously want me

to pretend to be Ms. Gu?

What do you think?

Mr. Yanxi,

I think you made

a wise decision earlier on.

I shouldn't have stayed at Gu Mansion.

I'm an unrefined girl from a village.

I don't look like a fine lady.

How can you escape after stirring up trouble?

No.

It's just that...

Well.

Mr. Yanxi,

I'll be frank with you.

I can coax Old Madam,

but I'm not capable

of fooling so many people.

You've been doing a good job.

Just work harder.

Lady Ru is fierce.

If she knows I'm lying,

she'll kill me.

I think

the best way

is for me to leave at once.

Why is it so quiet?

Where's Qiuxiang?

Why did she leave me alone?

You have to be Ms. Gu.

We've come to this point.

We have to play along with the mistake.

Since you know it's a mistake,

we should stop and minimise the damage.

I won't be Ms. Gu.

You're being irresponsible.

Irresponsible?

What am I responsible for?

If you leave,

what about me?

Do you really want me to stay?

Yes,

I need you.

Well,

what if my cover is blown?

Stay

and I'll take care of the rest.

Since I'm important to you,

I'll stay.

My grandmother can't live without you.

If you leave,

I can't coax her by myself.

What?

You...

Are you asking me to stay because of your grandmother?

What do you think?

I...

Don't think you can break your promise.

Mr. Yanxi!

Oh no!

Old Madam and Lady Ru are here.

What should I say later?

I'll handle it.

All right.

Wan'er.

Watch out.

Wan'er!

Grandmother.

Wan'er.

Grandmother, why are you here?

Be careful.

How did you end up this way?

Let me check

on your injuries,

all right?

I'm fine, grandmother.

I'm much better after the medicine is applied.

Well,

Wan'er,

it's all my fault.

If I knew it was you,

there wouldn't have been a misunderstanding.

Grandmother

and aunt,

I was the one who asked Wan'er

to stay in the mansion

as a servant temporarily.

When I first found Wan'er,

grandmother is seriously ill

and aunt wasn't around.

I didn't want anything big

to happen in the mansion

and be the spotlight.

I wanted to look for an opportunity

to reveal Wan'er's identity.

I didn't expect there'd be a misunderstanding.

You're

unbelievable.

It's important.

How could you take it lightly?

Grand...

Grandmother, don't blame my cousin.

It's my idea.

I just wanted to serve you quietly.

I didn't want to disturb others.

So he came up with this idea.

Well,

mother-in-law,

the kid was thoughtful.

She even acted

carefully around her own family.

It's been tough on you.

Well,

what a silly kid.

Mr. Ziqian!

Stop running!

If Madam finds out,

she'll scold us!

Mr. Ziqian!

Wan'er,

over the years,

where had you been?

Oh,

I was adopted by a family.

Oh.

Well,

can you tell me

how you were lost back then?

I...

I don't remember.

Since I could remember,

I was with my adoptive parents.

Only when my cousin found me

that I knew I was from Gu Mansion.

How did your cousin

find you?

Can you

stop asking?

Wan'er is still in pain.

She should take a good rest.

Yes,

mother-in-law.

Since

Ms. Gu is back,

of course

she should not suffer anymore.

Therefore,

she should be treated

the way a young lady

should be.

Am I right, mother-in-law?

Yes.

Mother-in-law,

please give me

a chance.

Leave this to me.

Allow me to make up for my mistake,

all right?

All right.

I'll leave it to you.

The priority

is to select a good servant

for Wan'er.

Lianxin.

Yes,

Madam.

Lianxin has been serving in Gu Mansion

for quite a while.

Please let Lianxin

serve Wan'er.

Mother-in-law,

what do you think?

Over the past few days, Qiuxiang

seems to be getting along

with Wan'er.

That's right.

Grandmother.

Please allow Qiuxiang

to be my personal maid.

Kexin,

Lianxin

has been with you for years.

I think you're used to having her.

Qiuxiang will serve Wan'er instead.

Qiuxiang,

come here.

Yes, Old Madam.

Starting today,

you'll be Wan'er's personal maid.

You must take good care of her.

Yes,

I'll try my very best

to take care of her.

Since the servant is selected,

we should select a fine room

for Wan'er, too.

By the way,

mother-in-law,

next to my room

is an empty room.

Lianxin,

prepare the room with others.

Decorate it.

Yes,

Madam.

Aunt,

Wan'er is not recovered yet.

She shouldn't move around.

Why don't we

decorate this room

and make it her room instead?

Oh,

it's painful.

What's wrong?

Oh dear.

Oh dear.

Yanxi, you're right.

The room looks great, too.

We'll do as you say, Yanxi.

Grandmother

and aunt,

It's getting late.

Why don't you let Wan'er take a rest first?

Tomorrow

we shall discuss the rest

all right?

All right.

Well,

grandmother,

aunt,

and cousin,

I won't see you off.

All right.

Come on,

mother-in-law.

Grandmother.

Watch your steps.

Come on.

All right.

Qiuxiang,

serve Ms. Wan'er well,

understand?

Yes, Madam.

Xiaowan,

no,

Ms. Wan'er,

can you tell me

what's going on?

This was what happened.

That's what happened.

If that's the case,

you're helping Mr. Yanxi

to pretend to be Ms. Wan'er.

Next,

I need to cover for you, too.

Yes.

Oh my goodness.

If this is exposed,

Old Madam and Madam

won't spare us.

That's the reason.

Qiuxiang,

from now on,

we're in the same boat.

We must stick together.

All right.

It's impossible.

How could she have lived?

I...

Hey,

this is Gu Mansion after all.

Lower your voice.

She couldn't have been alive.

Think carefully.

Back then,

did you settle it completely?

It's true that I buried her.

Gu Yanxi

is smart.

How could he get an impostor?

Wait.

What if...

What if someone saved her?

Then I'm doomed.

Back then, Wan'er

saw my face.

I remember

that there's a peach blossom

birth mark on Wan'er's arm.

Why don't you verify this?

Oh,

all right.

What if

she's indeed Wan'er?

If she is,

I will never

land you in danger.

I don't believe

she's that lucky.

If she survived the first time,

I won't let her survive this time.

Why are you here?

I am caring for you.

I brought you something

Come on.

What?

Lean on this.

All right.

How is it?

Do you feel comfortable?

It's quite comfortable.

How's your back injury?

It's all right,

I'm much better

after applying the medicine.

I'll make an introduction.

This is sweet osmanthus cake.

The medicine is bitter.

You may take one after taking it.

These are

Shiquan Dabu teapills.

When you're weak,

you may take one.

This is a wind chime.

You may play with it,

when you're bored.

I have another treasure.

What is it?

This is

from Western Regions.

It's a kaleidoscope.

It's really fascinating.

I feel like trying it, too.

Come on.

How do I see it?

See it with an eye.

Oh.

Wow,

it's spinning.

It's because I'm spinning it.

I want to do it myself.

Ziqian,

you treat me rather well.

It's nothing.

You're injured because of me.

Of course I should treat you well.

Ziqian,

don't you have anything to ask me?

What should I ask?

Aren't you curious

about how I turned from a servant

to Ms. Gu?

Actually,

it doesn't matter whether you're Wan'er

or Xiaowan

and whether you're a servant or Ms. Gu,

it's the same to me, actually,

because in my heart,

you are you.

Did you

just visit Wan'er?

Yes.

Look at your attitude.

What do you mean?

Wan'er defied you

and brought me out secretly to join the Cuju competition,

but even a man wouldn't be able to take

20 strokes in the woodshed.

You keep talking about Wan'er

all the time.

You address her so intimately.

Is she so important to you?

I'm doing everything for your own good.

Your father was addicted in Cuju.

He failed to make money.

We were struggling financially.

I've had enough

of such a miserable life.

Nor do I want you

to lead the same miserable life,

understand?

Ziqian,

in the future,

you might have your own family,

but you're

my only child.

You're everything to me,

be it in the past,

present

or the future.

Mother, that's not what I meant.

What did you mean then?

I'm sorry.

I shouldn't have talked to you like that.

I shouldn't have sneaked out

to join the competition.

Please don't be mad, all right?

Now you're talking.

Promise me

that you will

learn to do business.

Stop playing Cuju.

If I make the promise,

you should make a promise, too.

All right,

go on.

Don't blame others

for my behavior.

All right,

I promise you.

Then I'll promise you, too.

All right,

it's getting late.

Go to bed.

Yes.

Gu Mansion

Wan'er.

-Madam. -Aunt.

What brings you here?

I'm bringing you good stuff.

Look

at the decorations.

Do you like them?

You brought so much stuff.

Of course,

you deserve the best.

Go on.

Just let them decorate it.

Come on, take a break.

Take a seat.

You're still injured.

You should take good care of yourself.

How is it?

Are you

getting better?

I'm much better.

Thank you, aunt.

There's a jar of fine Yulu Cream in my room.

It's perfect

for recovery.

I came in a rush

and forgot to bring it.

Lianfang.

Yes.

Bring Qiuxiang

to my room to get it.

Yes, Madam.

Go on.

Well,

this is beautiful.

I think it's rather expensive.

Wan'er, you're too polite.

You deserve

the finest things.

Oh.

It's just over 100 taels.

Later on,

I'll select

finer stuff for you.

No,

it's all right.

This is good enough.

This is your room.

Your preference matters the most.

By the way,

was the place

you stayed with your adoptive parents

different

from the one you're staying now?

They're scholars.

They prefer minimalist design.

Of course it's not as luxurious as this.

I see.

Well,

where does the family stay?

What's their surname?

Wuling, Hunan.

Their surname is Xia.

Oh,

Xia?

Wan'er,

you're still injured. Don't move around.

Come on, take a seat.

All right.

You've been away from them for some time.

Do you miss them?

Why don't you

invite your adoptive parents

to visit us?

It's all right.

They won't come.

Why?

They don't like to leave their hometown.

They don't feel at ease going to other places.

Oh.

Well,

this is quite nice.

I'll take a look at it.

Oh no.

I'm sorry, Ms. Wan'er.

Are you all right?

I'm sorry.

Lianxin!

You're clumsy!

I'll punish you when you're back!

Ms. Wan'er, are you all right?

Qiuxiang.

Qiuxiang,

I have back ache.

Can you bring me back to rest?

Qiuxiang,

bring her back to the chamber

to rest.

Yes.

Ms. Wan'er, be careful.

Aunt, have a safe trip.

Sure.

Get well soon.

All right.

Wan'er,

we're going back now.

Oh,

all right.

This is special paint from Western Regions.

It doesn't fade easily.

Lady Ru will try all means

to verify your identity.

Use this to fool her for the time being.

I asked Lianxin to verify the birth mark.

She indeed has it,

but

she spoke hesitantly

and avoided eye contact.

It's suspicious.

Nowadays, there are many con men.

It's possible for someone

to pretend to be Wan'er

to get the Gu family's wealth.

Your words

make sense.

If she wanted to convince us,

it's not hard for her

to fake a birth mark.

I heard that

there's a kind of special paint from Western Regions.

Once you apply it,

the colour doesn't fade easily.

If she used this to fake the birth mark,

it would be rather convincing, too.

Oh,

is there

such a magical thing in the world?

However, this kind of paint

fades away when meeting a type of essential oil.

As long as we have the opportunity,

we can test it.

All right.

All right.

Zaifu Hall

You're really good at massaging.

Mother-in-law,

this is what I should do.

Well,

by the way, mother-in-law,

do you remember

my distant relative?

He's my cousin.

You mean the fat guy?

Oh,

that's right.

It's him.

Recently,

he opened

a new hot spring pool in suburb.

He invites us

to experience it.

I heard this hot spring pool

is different.

The hot spring pool

is added with various health-improving herbs.

It'll surely help

in solving your shoulder problem.

It'll at least ease it.

It sounds great.

Yes.

However,

Wan'er is not fully recovered yet.

Why don't we decide later?

Yes.

I heard that

they have

an ointment from Western Regions.

I think it'll help

to cure Wan'er's injury.

All right,

we'll do as you say

and experience

the so-called

new hot spring pool.

Xiwang Hall

It's done.

Wow.

It's really nice.

You're great, Mr. Yanxi.

We'll surely win

in the selection of Commandery Prince Mansion tomorrow.

All right.

Keep it well.

Mr. Yanxi,

Old Madam summons you.

All right,

I'll be right there.

I summon all of you here today

as there's a new

hot spring pool in suburbs.

I want to bring all of you there to experience it.

Why don't we make it today?

Let's go today, shall we?

Grandmother,

I have not fully recovered yet.

I heard that the hot spring pool

has an ointment from Western Regions.

It'll help in your recovery.

Yes, grandmother.

Grandmother,

tomorrow I'm going to Commandery Prince Mansion

to submit the design of the tiara.

I don't think I can make it.

You're going there tomorrow, not today.

You've been busy for so long.

It's time for you to relax.

That's right, Yanxi.

Everyone will be going.

Don't be a wet blanket.

Yes, grandmother.

Kexin.

Yes.

Make the arrangement.

We'll depart soon.

Oh,

all right,

mother-in-law.

Bliss Hot Spring Pool

Bliss Hot Spring Pool Here we are.

All right.

Old Madam.

Yes.

Long time no see.

How's your health?

Not bad.

Well,

Bliss Hot Spring Pool Bliss Hot Spring Pool is a a great name.

"Out of the depth of misfortune comes bliss.

Endless joy."

You must have put in a lot of effort.

Not at all.

I'm flattered, Old Madam.

You've come all the way here.

Please enter.

Be careful.

Be careful.

All right.

Cousin,

sorry to bother you.

What are you talking about?

Your arrival

is my honour.

It's the honour of our hot spring pool.

Everything

is well-organized.

Please enjoy your time here.

All right.

Old Madam,

Kexin,

and Ms. Wan'er,

please head to the pool for females.

All right.

Gentlemen,

please head to the pool for males.

This way, please.

All right.

Watch out.

Sorry to bother you.

Please don't say that, Old Madam.

This way, please.

Humph.

Madam and Ms. Wan'er, please enjoy.

All right.

What?

Two people in the same hot spring pool?

Our business is good today.

There are limited hot spring pools.

We hope you don't mind, Madam and Ms. Wan'er.

Wan'er.

Yes.

It's all right.

You can

accompany me

to chat and have a good time.

Oh,

you're right.

It's boring to do it alone.

I know, right?

Wan'er, do you feel comfortable?

I do, aunt.

That's good.

It'll help in your recovery.

When there's good blood circulation,

it'll help

in the recovery of your wound.

Well,

aunt,

please don't come over.

There's...

There's not enough space.

What do you mean?

It's such a big hot spring pool. There's ample space.

Look at the roses.

They're great.

It's all right.

I'll do it myself.

It's all right.

Don't come over.

Well...

Oh dear,

Wan'er, you're naughty.

Don't come near me.

Don't come near me.

You're naughty.

Don't come over.

Madam and Ms. Wan'er,

please come out and get changed for massage.

Oh,

let's come out.

All right.

Now we're massaging your Baihui Point.

It'll ease your exhaustion.

We're relaxing your shoulders.

This is linked to your spine.

It'll promote blood circulation.

Hey.

Wan'er,

what's wrong with you?

Aunt,

I'm a little dizzy.

Qiuxiang,

bring me back for a rest.

Yes.

Hold on.

Wan'er,

you are feeling dizzy,

as you're not fully healed yet.

Be good

and persist for a while.

Come on, help Ms. Wan'er to lie down.

I...

I...

It's all right, Wan'er.

I'm accompanying you here.

It's so painful! Stop!

If it's painful, it's being unblocked.

Hang in there,

or you won't be fully recovered.

You might regret it then.

Oh!

Oh no.

Ms. Wan'er,

what's...

What's wrong with you?

I have back ache.

Ms. Wan'er's wound seems to be torn.

Seriously?

This...

Ms. Wan'er.

Lianxin,

get a physician.

Oh dear.

Aunt, it's all right.

Don't bother worrying my grandmother.

You're right.

Don't get a physician.

Are you all right?

I'm fine.

Madam,

I'll bring Ms. Wan'er back to her room.

Yes.

Slow down.

Ms. Wan'er, watch out.

Be careful.

Lianxin.

Yes.

Follow her now
