The Plough Department of Song Dynasty

Episode 03

Later when we see Demiao,

we'll arrest her at once?

Here is the thing.

My Shifu has disabled her.

However,

she still has lots of believers.

If she is arrested,

no one knows what will happen.

We'll be prudent.

Try not to disturb civilians.

Why still stay with us?

Didn't we say to go to Qixing Temple together?

We?

You're a culprit.

I'm an official.

Officials are always against criminals.

Now you're atoning for your crimes by doing good deeds.

So now,

go back.

Wait! Culprit?! Me?! You...

Enough.

Yaoguang is naive.

Don't take it seriously.

You just stay here.

We two are officials.

Arresting the criminal is our job.

Just stay here.

You're different from us.

Okay.

If you're not afraid of her illusion tricks,

just go.

I'd rather enjoy the fruit of your work.

Well.

If Yaoguang and I are not back before dusk,

hurry run away.

Go to the capital.

Ask the Plough Department for help.

Don't act rashly.

Rest easy.

You think that I will risk my own life

to help two persons I met by chance?

I won't.

Hurry go.

Back then,

the immortal guru was in Chanli,

along with other immortals,

hundreds of thousands of them.

The immortals and gods all came for the gathering.

Pestilence that endangers the city,

being hunted down,

or plunged into poverty.

So weird.

Qixing Temple always enjoys a booming pilgrimage.

Why nobody is here today?

Let's go check inside.

Went preach every where

to get over disasters and save the people.

As a master for

the emperor,

monarch and king.

Changed name.

Demiao!

How dare you keep deceiving people here?!

Who are you?

Yaoguang

I'm Yaoguang star of the Plough Department.

Imperial censor Zheng's murder case is on me!

Watch out!

Careful!

Liu Suifeng!

Liu Suifeng!

Yaoguang.

Yaoguang.

Leave here now!

Dongshan!

Stop!

Foxy Liu!

Wake up, Fox Liu!

Get up.

Careful.

Come, sit here.

Foxy Liu.

Are you alright?

Yaoguang, that sassy girl.

Why she is beating others recklessly?!

She got deluded by Demiao's illusion trick.

So goes crazy and hits people.

She can't control that.

How come.

No other choice.

I've to make her faint first.

Protecting the civilians matters more.

Be careful.

Okay.

What's wrong?

Leave here now!

What bad luck!

I meant to make them help me.

But now,

I've to look after them two by myself.

God, please have mercy, okay?!

Foxy Liu?

Liu?

Mr. Liu?!

Say something and open your eyes, okay?

I'm not good at healing wounds.

Foxy Liu.

Are you still alive?

Let me know, okay?

Answer me.

Sassy girl!

Why you got up?

Look at Liu.

He is severely hurt.

Keeps bleeding.

Yaoguang.

Sassy girl!

Let's fight outside!

Stay there!

Don't come here!

Sassy girl!

Calm down, okay?!

No!

This is the only thing my Shifu...

Not me. I didn't kill him.

Not me.

Why shouted so loudly?

Even the dead would be awakened.

Blood.

Blood.

No blood. No.

That's a nightmare.

Let me check your pulse.

You're strong.

Recover so soon.

Did I hurt you?

Don't...

Don't molest me taking advantage of your illness.

No. Impossible.

I remember

that I've beat you to death.

Pah! Pah!

Can you say something good?

I didn't die.

It's just...

I got fainted.

No.

I remember that

I went crazy when I was in Qixing Temple.

I was not myself.

Even...

Killed many civilians.

No. No!

Those are Demiao's illusion tricks.

You didn't hurt anyone.

Don't blame yourself.

It's okay. It's okay.

Rest easy.

Don't cry.

No!

Who allowed you to hug me?

You just wanted to molest me.

Me?

Molest you?

It's you who hugged me, okay?!

You wanna be beat?!

Okay, fine.

You're bossy, you're right.

As I see.

Your Plough Department sounds awesome.

But why sent you two here? Maybe the worst two.

Even can't get rid of Demiaos's illusion tricks.

That's not our profession.

Men of our department

are not specialized in everything.

We're not immortals after all.

Then tell me.

We really have no way to deal with Demiao?

Not exactly.

It's just our first encounter.

We're not well-prepared.

If I got another chance,

she wouldn't have the upper hand.

What happened?

That evil woman, Demiao came again?!

Shouldn't be.

Yaoguang is indeed a noble lady.

You want her to make a meal for us?

Her?

A noble lady?

I really didn't find she is an elegant lady.

If you say she is insane,

I may believe that.

Yaoguang's father is a general.

Surely she is not the same as those weak ladies.

Her father is surnamed Cao.

But she used her mother's surname.

Her father is general Cao Wei, the signatory envoy of the Bureau of Military Affairs.

Her grandfather is one of the founders of our country.

General Cao Bin.

She has six uncles.

Each of them is influential in military affairs.

Isn't that awesome?

Since then,

why she travels to solve the cases with you?

She was born gifted.

He family didn't find that at first.

Then her father married a concubine,

and gave his wife, Yaoguang's mother

the cold shoulder.

Yaoguang was angry about that.

So quarreled with him.

And then...

She went manic.

Manic?

When Yaoguang is strongly stimulated,

she'll go manic.

After that,

her speed and power will soar sharply.

No one can beat her.

However, she can't tell friends from foes

when she goes manic.

Even her father, general Cao got hit by her.

Yaoguang.

My daughter.

I didn't mean that.

You okay?

Yaoguang?

Yaoguang!

Yaoguang, what's wrong with you?

Yaoguang hates her father's unfaithfulness.

So changed her surname.

I see.

If so,

there are really grudges between her and her father.

No wonder that day I changed into her father,

she didn't be obedient,

but kicked me severely.

That's the reason.

Forget it.

We have no time.

Now you gotta sell all your properties.

And leave Tai'an.

What nonsense are you talking about?

Everything here is alright.

Why should I leave?

You dare hurt officers of the Plough Department.

Now still asking me about the reason?!

They won't let it go at that.

Once they keep investigating,

we'll expose ourselves sooner or later.

So,

hurry find a way to run away.

Run away?

Sounds easy.

I've paid much effort to get everything I own now.

How can I give up that easily?

That's a shortsighted view.

If you die,

what's the use of keeping the fortune?

No more words.

Anyway, they won't find any evidence.

Then I'll be safe.

Don't scare yourself.

Stupid!

Rather stupid!

Liu.

You've fully recovered now.

What should we do then?

Go to Qixing Temple.

Take revenge.

Taisui.

You said that night in the post house,

you saw Demiao perform tricks before the coffin.

And open the coffin after the servants fainted?

Yes.

I saw a man fumble

imperial censor Zheng's body.

But seems he had no findings.

So put the lid on.

Seems we've ignored the clues left on the body.

Let's go to the post house.

May I help you?

Where is imperial censor Zheng and servants?

And that Moyan.

Censor Zheng's family came here.

Moyan seems to have gone back

hometown with censor's family.

When?

Just now.

Let's go.

Wait!

Wait! Wait!

Stop!

Stop!

Wait a jiffy, please.

You?

What do you wanna do?

Moyan.

What's wrong?

My lady.

This brat wanted to perform a religious rite for my lord.

I refused him.

He must come to make troubles.

Don't worry, madam.

We're officials.

May I ask,

why you stopped us?

His majesty ordered us to

look into censor Zheng's case.

My husband got killed.

Did you find any clue?

We're here

to get some clues.

Madam.

We have to...

Open the coffin.

What?!

Madam.

We wanna find the truth.

You mean to disturb my husband!

Relax, madam.

We just...

Do you know the dead should be respected?

My husband somehow got assassinated.

He was pitiful enough.

But you guys.

Even wanna disturb his peace after he died!

What the hell do you want?!

Madam Zheng.

Censor Zheng was killed.

We can understand you're sad.

You came from afar to take him back.

You just want to have his bones buried.

But if you take him back like this,

will he really rest in peace?

What do you mean by that?

Madam.

Censor Zheng is upright.

And unprejudiced.

Really a model for all ministers.

Now he is dead.

But we couldn't find the murderer.

You want to make him rest in peace.

We know that.

But now what you're doing

is actually helping the murderer.

Then she can get away with murder.

Would censor Zheng rest in peace

if he knew that?

It's...

Other than that,

we came from Tai'an.

On our way,

civilians were gossiping that

back then,

Censor Zheng got killed on the street,

the murderer disappeared.

That's because censor Zheng took bribes.

So even god rebelled at his evil deeds.

Thus some immortal came to punish him.

Do you know that?

Darned.

My husband is honest and upright.

Devoted himself to the country.

How could they slander him like that?

Right now.

Do you want to clear his name?

Or want him to become a topic for recreation.

Even,

his story will be made up randomly,

and he'll be described as a corrupt official,

like a clown.

If you want to clear his name,

then, you should assist us in investigation.

Help us find the murderer.

Make our civilians know that.

Thus give imperial censor Zheng justice.

Okay.

Since then,

I'll allow you to do that.

Moyan.

Open the coffin.

Any findings?

Nothing's in the pouch.

I feel it's strange.

Usually the pouches are embroidered

with flowers, birds, insects and fish.

But this one is embroidered with words.

He is a scholar.

But you're a laity, not the same, okay?

That's not the strange point.

But the words on it are out of order.

Very weird.

Moyan.

Where did your lord get this pouch?

My lord was used to using it.

When we lay his boy into the coffin,

my lady was not there.

So I put all the stuffs my lord frequently used into the coffin.

Look.

That's the brush he has used for long, nearly bald.

Why I feel the servant looks silly.

Couldn't get any information I want.

Yes.

Put everything into the coffin.

Didn't worry that he would get on his lord's nerve.

Not everything, okay?!

But stuffs my lord was used to using.

Like...

That brush pot in the study.

Although there're also some words carved on it.

Seems the same them with the pouch.

But my lord seldom used that.

So I gave it up.

Where is the brush pot.

This one.

Don't move.

Or I'll kill you.

Spare me, hero.

Spare me.

Have mercy.

Minister Xue.

Long time no see.

Officer Liu?

It's you. Gosh.

Scared me.

He...

Easy, minister Xue.

This is our friend.

He always acts rashly.

Please forgive him.

Taisui.

Hurry say sorry.

Minister Xue.

I'm sorry.

I always do this.

It's okay, never mind.

Well...

Officer Liu, you once told me to arrest the murderer.

I've tried my best to investigate that.

But in this big world,

it's really hard to find the murderer.

We've found the truth.

The murderer is also found.

You found the murderer?

Yes.

Well...

Who is that?

That's why we came to you.

This murderer...

Excuse me.

Let's talk in the study.

Okay, please.

Please.

You please.

Let's go.

What?

Demiao is the murderer?!

According to the evidence imperial censor Zheng left.

That's obvious.

She made some auspicious signs.

And killed censor Zheng who knew the truth.

So we gotta arrest her.

And send her to the capital for the trial.

How could it be possible?

Minister Xue.

I know that Demiao is known as the guru here.

Gets many believers.

If we take actions to arrest her,

I'm worried she will make those innocent people to fight against us.

To keep the civilian safe,

I came to you.

Hope you can arrange odd-job men to arrest her.

Then those civilians will have scruples.

Minister Xue?

I'm sorry.

It...

Really shocked me.

Guru...

No.

Demiao, that evil women enjoys a good reputation here.

Known as a savior.

How could she...

Didn't expect that

she would commit such a grave crime.

Don't worry.

Although my wife usually goes to Qixing Temple.

Facing such a case,

I know what I should do.

Good.

Then minister Xue, please arrange three groups of men.

Okay.

Why I can't move?

What's wrong?

Yaoguang.

Are you okay?

My head...

I can't move my hand.

Minister Xue.

What's wrong...

Minister Xue.

You came in time.

Why do I have a sudden headache?

I'm afraid...

Minister Xue knows the reason.

That's right.

Except the auspicious signs,

the minister here also joint it.

So minster Xue, you colluded with Demiao?

Don't be aggressive.

We could kill Zheng Ziwen.

Of course we can also kill you guys.

It's you who killed censor Zheng?

He pushed me to do that.

You demon woman.

Cheated and hurt civilians.

How can I let you off?

I'll report it to his majesty right now.

To punish you!

Refused the fortune I sent you.

Do you care about your life?!

You already took my poison.

Unexpected, right?

Dead or alive.

It's up to me.

Even if dead,

I'll leave the evidence to get you punished!

You...

You...

You...

Memorial

Just enjoy what you chose.

Please bless us, guru Demiao.

Guru Demiao.

A minister was killed.

That's not a trivial matter.

So,

Demiao and I did another thing.

Used her skill to control censor Zheng's body.

Made him show up on the street.

Killed him again in the public.

Then we two will stay out of this case.

But never thought

some man climbed up the robe,

and disappeared all of a sudden.

Finally the case was spread through the whole country.

I haven't figured it out until now.

You wanna know?

I did that!

I meant to make this case known through the whole country.

What? You?

So what?

You're about to die.

I know you all learnt Kungfu.

Very strong.

So,

I gave you three times the dose.

You won't survive this.

Do you know what I'm worrying the most now?

How should I

move three corpses out in secret?
