Episode 12

Why did you make so much effort

to check her background?

These are all official information.

I can't get any

private information on her.

How's her relationship with Qin Shengsheng?

Lin Wo

is the daughter of Qin Shengsheng.

Lin Wo took on the surname

of her mother, Lin Xin.

Around ten years ago,

Qin Shengsheng and Lin Xin had a divorce.

I've heard that it was because of

his assistant, Zheng Wanying.

After that, Lin Xin moved to Guangzhou

with her daughter.

Lin Xin passed away three years ago.

And Qin Shengsheng's relationship

with Lin Wo became worse.

Although they didn't see each other often,

Qin Shengsheng

did send someone to monitor her often.

It's obvious that

he still cares for his daughter.

But,

Lin Wo didn't like it

when Qin Shengsheng

interfered with her life.

Every time they met each other,

it always ended with an argument.

The worst quarrel they had

was during Lin Wo's final year in college.

Qin Shengsheng got her into

a huge company by pulling some strings.

Lin Wo thought

she got into the company by her own ability.

After she found out the truth,

they had a huge fight.

From then onwards,

they didn't want to see each other again.

After that?

After that, Lin Wo went to

a small company called Fangda.

She even bought the company.

But she sold it after getting into some troubles.

Something was strange.

It seemed like Qin Shengsheng

was involved in the selling of Fangda.

Do you mean...

Hello?

Hello, is this Mr. Zhou?

I am Lin Wo.

Although we are

just working together literally,

I still think it's necessary

to update you before anything else happens.

Mr. Zhou?

Mr. Zhou

has been a good friend of Qin Shengsheng for many years.

But Lin Wo found it out.

She rejected his investment.

Is it...

Vivian?

I do have news of her,

but I haven't confirmed it yet.

Qin Shengsheng is really smart.

He arranged for

Vivian to help Lin Wo in secret.

That's the best choice he could make.

Vivian founded Fangda.

And she took the baton from Lin Wo.

That's reasonable.

But we still need some time

before we can verify the truth.

Honestly speaking,

what's your relationship

with Lin Wo?

And, about Dalong and Qin Shengsheng,

why do their names

sound familiar to me?

Dalong was the company that

suddenly withdrew their investment from Qingrun.

Qin Shengsheng

was the culprit of my father's death.

Wait, Gao Shan!

Are you really back because of this?

You still can't let it go even after so many years?

You must be crazy.

You're the

only classmate whom I've kept in touch with.

You should know

what happened to my family in the past.

Do you think I can let it go?

Gao Shan,

is it necessary for you to ruin your future

for the past regret?

I don't think it's the past for me.

My time has been stopping

since my father jumped off the building.

Siyang,

you're the only person

I can be honest with.

Fine.

Tracking information is my job.

I was going to join a new company as well.

Just take it as I'm repaying you

for helping me in games

and girls.

But I need to remind you this.

You mustn't step out of your boundary.

I know my limits.

Monitor Qin Shengsheng for me.

I'll pay you by the hour.

Forget it. Bad luck for me.

By the way,

what will you do when I'm monitoring Qin?

I'll find

the person who can give me the answer.

I think

I've found the weapon

to defeat Qin Shengsheng.

What are you planning to do?

Just like how he ruined my life,

I'm going to ruin his life.

Mr. Jia,

I'm at the entrance now.

Don't worry.

I will find a suitable candidate for you.

See you later.

Mr. Tang Yaofeng?

Yes.

Your room is ready.

This way, please.

He's pretty particular.

I'm coming.

Why are you here?

We have an appointment, right?

We have an appointment?

Are you Mr. Jia?

Wait, what are you trying to do?

Listen,

it's illegal to beat someone up.

What is this?

Your reward.

Answer my question.

What question?

Who was the person

that bought Fangda?

Didn't Lin Wo tell you?

It's Mr. Zhou and Vivian.

Tell me the truth.

Why did Vivian

take over Fangda all of a sudden?

Who was her backer?

You want to know?

I won't tell you.

I was humiliated because of you guys.

Do you think I will

accept your bribe?

We had a deal.

Tell me the answer.

Actually,

I don't know either.

Hear me out.

Although Vivian is my girlfriend,

she didn't tell me anything

related to work.

But according to my observation,

her backer

couldn't be someone ordinary.

Not only was he generous,

but also I felt like

he's a person with high position.

I was pondering as well.

What kind of person

could take over Fangda

from Lin Wo

when it was closing down?

What's his relationship with Lin Wo?

Initially, I thought

she had a sugar daddy of some sort.

But things weren't as simple

as I thought.

After all, no sponsor

would like girls like Lin Wo.

So!

So,

I thought that man should be

one of her family members.

Initially,

when we were hanging out,

many guards in disguise

tried to approach her.

I didn't care much about that in the past.

But later on I thought over it.

Maybe

she's the daughter of

one of the richest family in the world.

I really missed out on a great deal.

Why are you trying to know this?

Are you trying to

cheat her out of her money?

Although Lin Wo is dull,

she's quite beautiful.

Why did you hit me again?

You!

Why are you trying to know it

if you don't want to cheat her?

What...

Sun Li scolded Gao Shan?

Sun Li called Gao Shan

to his office and scolded him

once Sun Li returned.

I entered the office,

but was chased out.

What exactly is going on?

What does he mean by that?

Why are they fighting?

What?

It's an emergency!

Maybe Gao Shan

will be fired.

If Sun Li uses this to threaten Gao Shan,

and publishes it in the corporate world,

Gao Shao's future will be ruined.

I'll speak to you later.

Gao Shan, are you okay?

Lin Wo is on the phone.

He's in a bad mood.

Oh no.

What should we do?

Knock before you enter!

Can you tell Sun Li to stop

blaming others for Yijia's M&A?

Because of Gao Shan?

I was at fault as well.

He shouldn't be

the only one to shoulder the blame.

Why are you staring at me?

Do you know what you're saying?

First,

is this how you speak to your superior?

No matter as a subordinate

or a headhunter,

you're a failure.

Second, Gao Shan is from Most Sky.

I don't want to

interfere with their company's internal affairs.

Third, you were supposed to be punished anyway.

Since you happen to be here,

sort out all of these materials

for me by tonight.

You're doing this on purpose, right?

Yes.

It's time for you to learn a lesson.

Do you think

you can really do whatever you want?

You finally show your true side.

Do you think you can defeat me in this way?

Dream on!

I'm not trying to defeat you.

You've already lost.

Because I'm the one

who's sitting in this position.

It's not you.

You can take your revenge

after you get a higher position

in Dalong.

So fragile.

Sorry to keep you waiting.

I had to print some stuff.

It's fine.

You don't need to come actually.

It's fine.

I was chatting with Sun Miao

at the cafe.

She was transferred to another place.

She asked me to take care of Xiaobao.

Is Sun Miao really your friend?

Yeah.

She is a few years older than me.

I always obtain new insights

when I chat with her.

I wonder when

she will be transferred back?

You...

Why didn't you answer my call this morning?

Mr. Sun called me to his office

to handle some stuff.

I'm sorry.

Zheng Wanying wanted to create troubles to me,

but you were implicated instead.

It's a game of chance.

I've thought of the worst possible scenario.

It's nothing much. I can just quit at worse.

But you told me that

escape wasn't an option for you.

Let's talk something else.

You haven't eaten, right?

Follow me.

I don't want to eat. Just forget it.

Even if you're not hungry,

I still need to eat, right?

Wait for 2 minutes and 55 seconds.

Is it that complicated to cook cup noodles?

When I was studying abroad,

my living cost was too high.

I did the calculation.

Cup noodles

were the only essentials I could afford.

In order to make life more interesting,

I figured out more than

ten ways to cook cup noodles.

So, your college

owed you a Michelin Star for cup noodles.

Within two years,

I managed to save around USD 10,000.

After that,

I invested my money in stocks and I became rich.

It's my first bucket of gold.

Resigning to fate isn't my style.

I haven't given up on Yijia's M&A yet.

I plan to

make another proposal for Ms. Zheng.

I will try my best,

whether she'd reject it or not.

What about you?

What?

You have five months left.

Not too long or too short.

Where do you plan to go after that?

Have you made your decision?

I don't know.

Although I didn't admit it,

I knew that Fangda's failure

gave me a huge blow.

I'm not sure

if I have the courage

to work as a headhunter again.

Why don't you stay in Dalong?

Impossible.

I will never make compromises with

Qin Shengsheng.

It's not a compromise.

If you want to win,

you need to learn to endure it.

So you can improve yourself.

Dalong is just a platform for you.

You can still do things

in your own style.

Your relationship with your father

has troubled you for too long.

It has affected your mindset

and your actions.

You may be the

only person who can solve this problem.

Only then, you'll be able to feel happy.

We'll see about that.

The noodles are done. Try it.

It has a special taste.

I will think about

what you've just said.

And,

I didn't want to

hide it from you on purpose.

Hold it right there.

This is the end of this topic.

I will still help you

if you meet any difficulties in the future.

Since

you're still following Yijia's M&A,

I have some materials

for you to refer to.

I'll go back to the office later.

I'll take it for you.

I can't just accept your help without returning the favour.

We still have time.

Let's go together.

Okay.

Let me finish my noodles.

They're delicious.

Mr. Qin,

when did you arrive?

An hour ago. Where's Wo?

She ran away because I scolded her.

Do you feel sorry for her?

She's a stubborn child.

This has nothing to do with her stubbornness.

This is a matter of principle.

She's affecting the profit of Dalong.

That's my limit.

That's your limit as well.

Wo knows what she's doing.

Who is she trying to help?

Ms. Zheng,

it's me

who masterminded all the things.

Lin Wo has nothing to do with it.

Gao Shan, you don't need to defend me.

That isn't important.

Mr. Qin, just leave Lin Wo to me.

I'll deal with her with my own methods.

This is interesting.

The cold and merciless Mr. Qin

is helpless when

he's dealing with his daughter.

You lose your judgement

when it comes to your daughter.

One thing conquers another.

Wanying,

are you confident that

you can get Wo to return?

I'm not sure.

But I will do my best

in completing your tasks.

That's always the case.

I was the reason behind

your conflict with Lin Wo.

If she can't put up with me

and solve the misunderstanding,

she'll never be able to make peace with you.

That's why I need to do this.

Wanying, you...

You don't need to pretend to be courteous.

Actually, it's fair.

Your guilt

did provide me with more.

Just like the past.

I'll visit Wo.

What's wrong?

Is your stomach acting up again?

Do you want to go to the hospital?

Stop enduring it. Let's go.

Do you really still care for me?

I'll just stay there waiting for you.

In case it will be awkward.

I'll come down

after I get the stuff.

What an unexpected surprise!

Can I take it for you next time?

I don't feel like going up there.

Sure. We still have some time.

Let's have a drink.

Lin Wo!

There's something on your hair.

Isn't that Vivian?

Why are they together?

Hello, it's me.

I wanted to call you as well.

I have news.

Qin Shengsheng has arrived.

He'll go to

Dalong's branch in Guangzhou for a meeting later.

He's here already?

Siyang, arrange an appointment with Vivian.

You want to see her?

Not me.

Who's going to see her then?

It's time for a play.

Vivian,

why are you here?

Didn't you say you wanted to see me?

You even said

you wanted to introduce me to Mr. Qin.

Coincidentally, we met each other here.

When did I say that?

Your secretary called me just now.

I've pushed aside my tasks to see you.

What's wrong?

I feel uncomfortable.

You should return first.

Sorry for the interruption.

I think they know each other.

I'm sure they know each other.

What's going on?

It's obvious.

Vivian was hired by Qin Shengsheng.

So she and Mr. Zhou could

buy Fangda together.

Could it be a misunderstanding?

This is not the first time

Qin Shengsheng

had resorted to such tricks.

Where are you going?

Let go. I've told him

not to interfere with my life anymore.

Let go of me!

If you approach him,

nothing good will come out of it.

I don't care!

I want him to know that

he can't control my life as he pleases!

Lin Wo,

can you stop being unreasonable?

Am I being unreasonable?

Don't you understand?

When you're weak,

you won't even have the right

to refuse his help.

Everything you do right now

is just an attempt for you to

escape his grasp in name only.

Of course.

You can argue with him again.

But this will

happen time and time again.

It's meaningless.

I've told you before.

You have five months left.

Just take a bet.

Yijia's M&A

is a good starting point for you.

You can treat Dalong

as a great platform for you.

And you can utilize it in your own ways.

You can only escape his grasp

once you're strong enough.

But you know

I'm not an expert in this.

I can help you.

I don't want to hide it from you.

I will get the project for sure.

So,

I'm not just trying to help you,

I'm trying to help myself as well.

This is my only chance.

I've decided.

Do you accept it?

You're right.

These five months

belong to me as well.

Initially, I thought

I could escape his grasp

when I was away from him.

But it turned out I was wrong.

If so,

why don't I face him head-on?

This is my only chance as well.

You don't have many chances

to be upset in the future.

Now, I allow you

to be sad for ten minutes.

What happened?

Mr. Qin, it's Ms. Lin.

What were you doing?

Didn't you know that it's dangerous?

I have something to say.

What?

I want to be

the person in charge of Yijia's M&A.

Did you sort out all of these?

There's one more. I'll finish it soon.

You're really something.

Usually, newcomers found excuses like

they didn't have enough time

or they couldn't remember the requirements.

They couldn't do it well.

But you're familiar with everything

within one week.

You did a better job than I did.

Now,

I believe that you're an elite.

Even elites need to do lowly jobs.

We're the same.

It's a pity that

you won't stay here for long.

I'm sure you'll be promoted.

By then,

please remember me for helping you.

Stop teasing me.

Who knows?

I may be fired one day.

That's impossible.

You helped

Su Yuan to complete a proposal, right?

It didn't cause any losses to the company.

Mr. Sun

won't kill you for this.

So, if you have the time to think about that,

why don't you

think about how to repay me?

Mr. Sun!

It's your first time to come here.

Are you here to print something?

Mr. Sun.

Gao Shan.

You're not bad at all.

I underestimated you.

I'm sorry.

I don't understand what you mean.

You don't need to come here

from tomorrow onwards.

Oh my goodness!

It's hard for me

to find a capable assistant like him!

You can't just give him the sack!

Give him the sack?

He'd still be fine

even if I was sacked!

You'll go to Zhuhai the day after tomorrow.

You and Su Yuan will assist Dalong's representative

in discussing Yijia's M&A.

Mr. Qin is expecting your arrival.

Don't disappoint him.

See you, Mr. Sun.

Why are you still standing there?

What did I say?

I'm Most Sky's prophet.

Congratulations!

You will be promoted.

But you must remember

your teacher, okay?

It's me, Tracy.

Tracy Liu.

Mr. Sun,

are you really sending Gao Shan to Dalong?

He's a part of Most Sky.

Even if they have an important project for us,

they can't just

interfere with our internal affairs!

Mr. Qin called Mr. Luo personally.

I need to show him some respect.

Then are we just

watching him turn over the table and doing nothing?

He's like a wolf. He'll get fiercer over time.

If he does well in Yijia's M&A,

he'll stabilize his position.

And he'll bite you.

You'll be in trouble by then.

Mr. Sun, I'm sorry.

I was too anxious.

Have a seat.

Du Fei, I've told you before.

You're too rash.

You'll fall for their tricks.

That's the taboo in the industry.

Have you ever heard of this saying?

Misfortune comes with fortune.

It's too early

to say anything about the outcome.

Lin Wo will be in charge of Yijia's M&A

with Gao Shan to assist her?

Yes.

That is her condition.

Didn't I tell you to rest?

Why are you working again?

What did she promise you?

If she fails,

she'll follow

my every arrangement in the future.

If she wins,

I will quit interfering with her life.

Stupid.

It seems like

my wish will be granted soon.

Mr. Qin,

it's too early for you to be happy.

I'm fated to win.

It's impossible for her to turn the table.

How's it going?

Everything goes well as planned.

I'll finish it within two months.

Good.

I hope no other problems will arise.

What are you thinking about?

I was wondering

why Lin Wo had a sudden change

in her personality.

I thought she hated to

work in Dalong?

Maybe Gao Shan

is much more important

than we have imagined.

Gao Shan?

This person,

he's not ordinary.

Gao Shan, you're making a comeback.

How did you do that?

It's a secret.

So petty.

Listen,

this project is very important.

If you mess this up,

I'll break your legs literally.

Don't underestimate me.

I'm going to

study hard on the project.

By the way,

Lin Wo called me.

She asked us to go to a restaurant

to celebrate your first victory.

Wu Dongna will come as well.

It's true.

Lin Wo told me.

Let's go.

When do you plan to

tell Lin Wo you like her again?

I'm sure it's tough for you when Wu Dongna

interrupted you last time.

It's none of your business.

Of course it has something to do with me.

Your love story

is connected to my happiness.

Are you serious about Wu Dongna?

Don't interrupt me.

Answer my question.

Speak up.

What are you staring at?

Who's that?

You know that person?

You should head there first.

It's a celebration for you.

Of course

we should go together.

I'll be there later.

That car looks familiar.

You bet your future

for Gao Shan?

It seems like

he has influenced you a lot.

He's right.

If you hide your injuries,

they will fester and worsen.

Seems like

we'll compete with each other sooner or later.

Life is such a mess.

Nana, what mess?

Tell me about it.

Where's Gao Shan?

Gao Shan?

Someone picked him up after work.

He'll come later.

Who picked him up?

I don't know.

He's over 50 years old.

He's quite imposing.

Try it.

Fermented for over 50 years,

it produces the best taste this year.

Such an expensive wine.

I feel like I'm drinking liquid gold.

Such a waste for

a person who doesn't drink.

Mr. Qin,

I'm sure we're not just here

to drink some red wine, right?

Did you call Vivian on purpose?

I don't understand what you mean.

You do things with calmness and get straight to the point.

You can find the only way

to solve the problem that's impossible to be solved.

You're a smart person.

But I don't like it that a smart person

like you gets close to Lin Wo.

I think

Lin Wo doesn't like it

when you interfere with her life, am I right?

Mr. Qin,

if you have nothing else to say, I'll leave now.

What's your goal

from approaching Lin Wo?

Mr. Qin, it seems like you misunderstood me.

Lin Wo and I,

we're just friends.

Friends?

Do you know

why I called you here?

Mr. Qin, just get straight to the point.

I have an appointment later.

You need to know that

you're not dealing with Lin Wo.

You're dealing with me, Qin Shengsheng.

Don't try to

overstep your boundaries.

I allow you to do so only once.

I won't allow you to

do this again.

Mr. Qin, it seems like you're pretty sure that

I'll try to climb up the ladder

by taking advantage of Lin Wo.

In your eyes,

I know your ambition.

Most Sky isn't your destination.

But no matter what it is,

remember this.

Don't use Wo as your shield again.

It seems like you don't like people who are ambitious.

But Mr. Qin, I have a question.

Are you sure Dalong

has always been an honest company

without doing any shady business from the start?

No. It's the exact opposite.

I like those who strive to improve themselves.

I love it when people challenge me.

Let me answer your question.

Dalong

struggled a lot in order to survive.

I've made countless choices.

I've been through countless desperate situations.

But in the end, I've always been the winner.

What about the losers?

Did you kick them off the cliff

and let them fall to their death?

If you want to play the game, you must follow the rules.

What do you think?

Young man, do you want to play a game with me?

Farewell.

Qin Shengsheng,

I will make you pay

for everything you did one day!

Lin Wo

Sorry.

The number you have dialed

is busy.

He's not answering my calls.

What's going on?

Lin Wo,

are you still trying to deny your true feelings?

Nana, I'm sorry.

I do have feelings for Gao Shan.

That's fine.

It's just a man.

It won't

affect our friendship.

Let's have a fair competition.

Fair competition?

I'm still here, you know?

I think something's wrong.

Why don't we look for him?

Perhaps Gao Shan

had returned to the company.

Okay.

Sub by WeTV & Ripped by skysoultan ♔ Follow @skysoultan on Instagram ♔

Isn't he too direct?

What are you doing?

Lin Wo, I like you.

Lin Wo,

ever since I first saw you...

No, even before I saw you,

I was immensely interested in you.

A beautiful headhunter

who could steal Most Sky's case

out of my hand.

After that,

you rejected my approach

numerous times.

You're carefree, yet stubborn.

You're smart, yet dumb.

Tang Yaofeng said you were dull.

But I don't think so.

I'm a man

who deals with numbers.

Maybe,

I'm the dull one here.

But lately I couldn't stop

wasting my time thinking about you.

I'm getting addicted to doing

meaningless things with you.

I don't want to hesitate anymore.

I don't want to hide my feelings any longer.

I want to be with you.

My mind is a mess right now.

I'll check on Nana.

I think Su Yuan has sent her back.

Don't worry.

I'm worried when he's around.

I was too rash just now.

I'm sorry.

I'll go home and wait for her.

I'll send you back.

No need!

What are you worried about?

Are you worried about gossip about us?

Or are you afraid that I'm just using you?

Gao Shan, it's not that.

My mind is a mess right now.

Nana might be angry at me.

She's really serious

in pursuing you, you know?

Give me some time

and let me think about it, okay?

Many things

have happened lately.

And I just broke up with someone not long ago.

I understand.

Let me send you back then.

Don't reject me.

Nana,

it's late. Let me send you back.

It's unsafe if you go home alone.

Moreover, you're so pretty.

Lin Wo

Hey.

Is it from Lin Wo?

What was I about to say?

Keep quiet

if you don't know what to say.

Let me sing you a song then.

Forget it. Let me play you a song.

I'm thirsty.

Stop in front.

I'll buy some water.

Okay.

Just sit here and rest.

I'll buy it.

Thank you.

Wait for me here.

Feng Neng Resource signed the contract with someone else?

How's that possible?

Mr. Li will sign the contract with me soon.

It's true!

Your boss,

namely your boss,

Jason,

sent us the notice himself.

Why don't you ask him

what's going on?

I'm sure Lu Dong was behind this.

I'm sure it's that guy.

He's disgusting.

He actually did this

in order to secure a promotion?

Where are you going?

I'll argue with him!

Sit down.

I can't take this!

Tell me!

Are you going to sit idle and do nothing?

They're too much!

You don't have any evidence.

If you approach him now,

not only will you not be able to solve the problem,

but you'll give him a hold of our weakness as well.

But, we can't just let Lu Dong

steal your achievement,

am I right?

That's the next thing

I need to consider.
