Marry Me

Episode 24

Mu'er.

Please mind your words, Lord Yun.

You should address me as Madam Long.

What are you laughing at?

Seems like you didn't tell Long Yue...

where you were going.

It's just a simple conversation....

for the case.

Is it necessary to mention it?

Don't think too much about it.

I'm worried about Young Master Yue's reaction.

It'll be bad if damages were made...

onto your relationship.

Don't worry about it, Lord Yun.

I'm here for Ya Li Li today.

Some things have passed.

Please mind your actions, Lord Yun.

Don't squander your energy.

If you don't agree to my condition,

I won't sign the confession.

What does she want?

She wants to have a look at Shi Bo Yin's qin again.

I didn't expect her to be so devoted.

I accept your condition.

The officials work here.

No one is allowed to enter.

Open your eyes and have a good look!

You don't know who we are?

Stop, Shan'er.

Don't trouble them.

We can wait in the carriage.

Lord Yun.

If Ya Li Li confesses,

can she leave the capital safely?

I don't want to keep you in the dark.

Though there's a mastermind behind this,

but...

She can't escape death.

How can it turn out like this?

The best music is beyond its form

Didn't Young Master Yue say she was threatened?

And the culprit was someone else?

How did it become so dire that it'll cost her life?

He must be worried about you...

getting implicated after that.

So he decided to lie at you.

With their reputation in the capital,

how can Young Master Yue not know about the hidden connections?

We can only sentence Shu Bo...

to gain a chance.

But Shu Bo is a cunning man.

He has high power in the imperial court too.

Just by Ya Li Li's statement,

it might not be enough.

Does Madam Long remember about anything suspicious...

happening in the palace...

before Consort Li was harmed?

Never mind.

We shouldn't rush things.

Yes, another thing.

Did Madam Long have the chance to meet...

Imperial Physician Wang?

Imperial Physician Wang?

No, I don't.

Is he connected to the case?

No.

I heard that he's a skilled physician.

So I intended him to cure your eyes.

Then I let it pass after...

Young Master Yue stepped in.

But a few days ago,

he suddenly resigned and left his post.

No one knows where he went.

I'm just asking.

Imperial Physician Wang?

I have some impression on this person.

But when did he appear?

How can I forget about him?

You're going to suffer one with your temper like this, Sister.

I return this advice back to you.

That Ju Mu'er is a true temptress!

You should keep your eyes on Brother-in-law, Sister.

My husband is not like that.

Mind the stairs.

You two are indeed together!

Ju Mu'er! You're everywhere!

Do you want every man in the world to circle around you?

As the Imperial Preceptor's second daughter,

how can you have such little manners?

Manners? I have to see who I'm speaking with.

Brother-in-law told Father that he needs you on his case.

Father said he should avoid suspicion.

But he insisted on his way.

Serves you right for getting caught redhanded!

Music Bureau

Shan'er!

My sister is straightforward.

But her words are reasonable though it may hurt.

This is where officials work.

No one is allowed to enter at will.

My husband, you ignored Father...

and insisted on taking her here.

What will happen to Father's dignity if this goes out?

You're overeacting, my wife.

I brought Ms Ju here...

to record her statement.

You're abusing your power, I think.

As someone's wife,

she should obey morality and take control of herself.

I'll say it again.

She's here for the case.

If you're not pleased,

you can report to Lord Ding.

All reasons are valid if you want to accuse someone.

If Madam Yun and Lord Yun...

are affectionate enough,

why should you fear of others' interception?

I have a clear conscience.

If Madam Yun insists to pester me here,

this shows that...

you don't trust Lord Yun enough, do you?

I've told you everything about the case.

If there's nothing else,

I'm taking my leave.

This darn wretch!

Not to mention she seduced Young Master Yue,

now she's pestering my brother-in-law!

My sister can tolerate,

but I definitely can't!

Stand there!

How may I help you, Young Lady Shan?

Seems like you're not repenting at all.

You seduced my Brother-in-law in public!

Do you ever respect the Ding family?

Is Young Master Yue in your heart?

Young Lady Shan ran and shouted without image.

I thought something major happened.

Young Master Yue!

Your wife seduced other men outside!

Aren't you angry?

My wife met Lord Yun to discuss about the case.

She told me beforehand. Is there any problem?

Instead, Young Lady Shan spread rumours over nothing.

Are you looking for trouble with me?

Young Master Yue, I only have you...

in my eyes and my heart.

It's her!

She's full of lies and likes to spread rumours.

She doesn't have you in her mind at all!

This is my family matter.

Young Lady Shan can spare your worries.

-You... -But,

if anyone wants to slander my wife,

I'll never let them off the hook!

You...

You two...

Young Master Yue, when did I tell you beforehand...

that I'm discussing the case with Lord Yun?

I deserve this for choosing to act.

Fine for not thanking me.

But you went home!

I'm too kind at you.

That's why you're manipulating me.

I'm doing this for your own good.

We'll go back together?

Let's go!

What an undeservable act I did...

to praise you in front of my father!

I wanted to help you earn credit from this case.

But I never thought you'll abuse your power...

to meet her in private!

Am I wrong about you?

You and Ju Mu'er...

With such a fine demeanour you have everyday,

I never expect that you'll...

look so cute from jealousy.

I'm not in the mood to joke with you.

Silly girl.

Shan'er acted unreasonably.

How can you believe her?

I have no words to express my love to you.

I asked for Ju Mu'er today...

for her help to persuade Ya Li Li to sign the confession.

It's all for work.

I wanted to tell Father after completion...

as a surprise for him,

so that I can prove myself.

That's why I didn't tell you.

But I never thought that you'll misunderstand.

Really?

You can misunderstand me for meeting Ju Mu'er.

But how can you lose confidence in yourself?

In front of you,

everyone turns dull.

How can anyone...

stay in my heart?

Good that you're smiling.

From now, don't act silly like Shan'er.

That's right.

Shu Bo was recently locked up.

What is Father planning to do?

In the midst of devising a strategy,

he'll try to eliminate Shu Bo's alliances.

Clearing away the dirty atmosphere.

I guess this is the day Father had always been expecting.

Father-in-law is indeed...

wise and poised.

Here, have some water.

Music Bureau

How much does you two know about...

what your mistress did?

Our mistress never hides her plans from us.

We can guarantee with our lives that...

she has no reason to kill Consort Li.

She trespassed the palace to retrieve Shi Bo Yin's qin.

She was forced by Shu Bo for everything after that.

Please help me pass this qin to your mistress.

And convey my words to her.

I've fulfilled my promise.

I hope she can fulfill hers...

when I take the qin back tomorrow.

Second Sister-in-law! We're back!

You two are finally back!

Second Sister-in-law, I came directly to you instead of Second Brother.

I heard that you moved away.

My fool of a brother must've angered you.

His brains may be under-developed,

but he's true to you.

This is beyond all doubt.

Mu'er, you're married into the Long family...

ceremoniously and grand.

You returned to your maiden home as so.

What about Young Master Yue's pride?

Just give him a small punishment...

to make him realise his mistake.

You two misunderstood me.

Young Master Yue and I are fine.

I'm happy that you two came to see me.

The reason I moved out is because...

I don't want to implicate the Long family for what happened to Consort Li.

We shouldn't hold you up if you're busy.

We'll definitely pass your message.

Goodbye.

What is it? Is something wrong?

I was just looking.

Are they the servant girls from the Six Arts Court?

Yes, their mistress is the special messenger from Ximin, Ya Li Li.

I have things to do for the alliance.

I should go, you two can talk.

Sister, you went out with Young Master Fei for so many days.

Did anything happen?

You can tell me if something happened.

I can share your burden.

Don't worry.

We're fine.

Speaking of which, you and Young Master Yue cares for each other.

You should hurry and move back home.

Stop right there!

We've replied Ju Mu'er.

Why are you following us?

You two...

know Feng Wu?

No.

No?

Then why were you shocked when you saw her?

Young Master.

I don't understand what you mean.

I mistook her as someone else.

We came from Ximin.

Why would we know a Central Plain woman?

A mistake?

Who did you mistake her as?

Of course, it's someone we know from Ximin.

Why should we answer to you?

What motives do you have?

I want you two...

to tell the truth!

Get out!

Let's go.

Young Master Fei!

Are you all right?

Feng'er.

From the moment we went out until now,

I don't feel right.

What did you hide from me?

Let's go back, Xiao Bao is waiting for us.

Zhaoyu Palace

After Father was sent to prison,

I failed to meet Aunt for several times.

She finally summoned me today.

Where is Aunt? Why isn't she here?

Her Highness has ordered.

Young Lady Ruo Chen shall wait for her here alone when she arrives.

Young Lady.

Is Her Highness testing you?

Su Qing, leave with the rest of them.

I'll stay here by myself.

Aunt!

Your Majesty!

I didn't know it was you! Please pardon me!

What did you do wrong?

I was careless and offended you!

I must die ten thousand deaths!

How can there be so many deaths?

Hurry and get up.

I shall pardon you.

I remember you're Shu Ruo Chen.

Yes, Your Majesty.

Xiao Bao, your father's back!

Xiao Bao!

Xiao Bao!

You're injured! Be careful.

I shall take my leave.

I'm fine, it's just a minor injury.

But it's weird.

I was injured by Hai Gui.

But why did I wake up in a different place?

Xiao Bao!

Xiao Bao!

Slowly.

Chief.

Never tell anyone about today.

Especially your chief.

If anyone dares to speak a word,

you know the results.

Back at the Music Bureau,

those servant girls are suspicious.

Why stop me from questioning them?

Perhaps they look familiar.

When did you have such deep thoughts?

Father! Mother!

Xiao Bao!

Xiao Bao!

Come here!

Let me see if you've grown taller!

I didn't grow taller, but fatter.

You!

Let's go inside.

I bought you plenty of presents!

Sure!

Let's go!

I'm sorry, Young Master Fei.

Xiao Bao, I bought all these unique toys for you along the way.

Do you like them?

-What is this? -This?

This is a Kongming lock.

I heard it'll shatter if you remove a piece of it.

It's not easy to place it back.

I didn't dare to remove it.

What to do?

It's not so difficult like you said.

You're intelligent like your father.

I knew you would like it!

No one knows you better.

It's my eighth birthday next month.

Thank you for preparing so many presents for me, Father!

Good boy, Xiao Bao!

One, two, three, four... How is it eight?

That's not right, you're seven years old!

No!

You don't even remember my birthday!

I'm eight years old!

That's not right, I remember...

That's right, that's right!

Xiao Bao and Father are both right.

Xiao Bao said the lunar date.

Father said the actual date.

No matter what, our Xiao Bao is getting one year older!

Come, let's eat something nice.

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight.

This is not right.

Mother, why did you bring me here?

Remember, Xiao Bao.

No matter who asks about your age,

never tell them your actual age.

Including your father.

You're seven years old this year. Understand?

But I'm eight years old.

Why should I lie to everyone?

Do you have any difficulties?

Father and my uncles are kind people.

They'll understand.

I promise you.

I'll tell you everything when the time comes.

But you must promise me too.

Never tell anyone.

This is our secret, all right?

Don't worry, Mother.

I won't say anything if you forbid me.

Ju Wine House

What? Your Young Lady is entering the palace?

Ju Wine House

To save Old Master,

she decided to enter the palace earlier.

The date was selected.

No way! Then...

No news from the Long family?

Where are you going, Young Master Yue?

Good that you're here. I'm meeting Big Brother.

You're more persuasive than me about love.

Persuade Big Brother to give up on her.

You're not asking him to pursue,

but to give up?

Don't you know Young Lady Shu is entering the palace?

I know.

That's why I'm asking him to give up.

You know his temperament.

He's the kind of person who keeps his affection in his heart.

He'll get sick if he continues that way.

Now that she's entering the palace,

he won't have to think of her.

Isn't this a happy ending?

Young Master Yue, stop being sarcastic.

We should think of a way to help them.

Are you getting confused as well?

Shu Ruo Chen is entering the palace for her father.

Everything has been decided.

If Big Brother couldn't let her go after that,

it won't be as simple as a relationship.

Go with me to persuade Big Brother.

No way!

I'm meeting Young Lady Ruo Chen.

Sure, I'll go look for Big Brother.

Big Brother, Young Lady Ruo Chen is entering the palace for sure.

Nothing will happen even if you kept pestering her.

It's good for everyone this way.

Back there...

are some candidates I've selected for you.

You're at a marriageable age.

You're so free...

to bring me trouble?

My Lord.

My Lord, Young Master Yue.

Someone cast a letter outside the Bureau.

It's addressed to you.

Shu Ruo Chen is in trouble

Who sent this?

He left in a blink of an eye on a fast horse.

No one saw how he looked like.

Big Brother, you must calm down.

What if it's a trap?

I don't care.

She'll enter the palace if I'm too late.

I have to go no matter it's true or not.

Big Brother!

Shu Ruo Chen was named a Noble Lady by His Majesty himself.

She'll be fine.

Besides, if she's in danger,

someone will be there to protect her.

If not, we can look for the handler.

This letter is too suspicious.

How can he know...

Shu Ruo Chen will be in danger on her way to the palace?

Besides, why did he kept it quiet from others...

and came to the Criminal Investigation Bureau to inform you?

This person must know...

about your relationship with Shu Ruo Chen.

This is definitely a trap!

But I can't bet on it.

I have to go even if it's a trap.

I refuse to live in regret.

-Big Brother! -My Lord!

Trust me! Shu Ruo Chen will be fine!

My Lord, I have the same thought.

Young Master Yue is right. This is suspicious.

Please reconsider your decision.

Men!

-My Lord. -Keep an eye on them.

No one can leave here without my orders!

Yes, My Lord!

-Big Brother! -My Lord!

Have you thought it through?

If I can save my father with this,

it's the best arrangement.

This decision...

can be counted as a repayment to my father for nurturing me.

But once you enter the palace,

there's no turning back.

It's good for us...

if we make quick decisions.

This may be the best ending.

If it's not what you have in mind,

this is not the best ending.

The most important thing in a relationship...

is connecting your affections.

If you believe in each other,

nothing can control you.

You can think of another way to help your father.

Did he...

ask you to come for me?

If you have something to say,

I'll pass it on for you.

Why are you here, Lord Long?

Are you here to bid farewell as well?

I received intelligence that a criminal hides amongst the convoy.

Young Lady Ruo Chen is in danger.

So I came to help escort her.

I'm in full charge for this escort.

I've selected each person by myself for the convoy.

Are you saying that I'm incapable with my job?

I don't know where you received that information...

and insisted that someone will harm Noble Lady Shu.

The Wujin Imperial Guards has a way.

If Young Lady Ruo Chen meets with danger,

we can't bear the responsibility.

Why don't we escort her together?

We'll take another path.

I've heard that...

Lord Long and Young Lady Ruo Chen has something going on.

I'm really impressed now that I see it today.

I advise Lord Yun to mind your words and actions.

Don't bother about it.

Let's go.

If anyone dares to block the way,

take them down.

You!

Assassins!

Kill them!

I won't let go this time.

Hurry and take her away!

Go!

Get them! Hurry!

Stop! Stand there!

Who instigated you?

Why are you trying to kill us?

He's a Wujin Imperial Guard. Our target is that woman.

Will we get into trouble if we hurt him?

Dead men tell no tales.

Kill them!

Don't move!

Ruo Chen!

Ruo Chen!

Why didn't you spare them?

Why should I keep these killing machines alive?

Things are clear now.

Long Teng and Noble Lady Shu has an affair.

Long Teng came today...

to snatch Noble Lady Shu away.

So that's it.

Everything...

is prearranged by you.

You lured Long Teng into a trap...

to set up the Long family.

The person who understands me the most...

is you indeed, Mu'er.

Why did you do this?

If Long Teng is innocent,

he won't jump into any traps...

no matter how many I set.

Nothing's wrong about love!

Tell me!

How will you spare the Long family?

Mu'er.

I did so much painstakingly.

Everything I did was meant for you.

You said so yourself.

Nothing's wrong about love.

What did I do wrong?

Your so-called love...

is built by stepping on others' happiness?

You're out of your mind!

You're crazy!

Stop it!

What...

does it take...

for you to spare the Long family?

Leave Long Yue.

You don't have much time to consider.

Think carefully.

The Long family will live or die...

with a flick of my hand.

I hope you'll do what you promise.

The assassins are killed...

thanks to Lord Long.

Noble Lady Shu was frightened...

and was escorted by Lord Long to leave firsthand.

I'll explain to His Majesty...

by myself for the details of this incident.

Young Master Yue, I sent every one I can.

Everyone is searching for Young Master Teng now.

But...

Ms Shu has been nominated. Her disappearance...

can't be a secret much longer.

We can only search for them in the dark.

-Never make it public. -Yes, Sir.

Where is Mu'er now?

Is it painful, Aunt Mu'er?

No, it's just a small injury.

So you remember to come home?

I'm here to wait for Big Brother and Young Lady Ruo Chen's news.

I'm preparing to leave.

Uncle Yue! You can talk to Aunt Mu'er.

But don't bully her!

Let's go.

About Big Brother and Ms Shu,

Yun Qing Xian promised to hide it.

He won't tell His Majesty for now.

If someone asks about Young Lady Ruo Chen,

they'll say she was in shock...

and needs recuperation.

She'll enter the palace another day.

The most important thing now...

is to find them and avoid mishaps.

As we can't hide from His Majesty any longer.

Besides these,

do you have something else to tell me?

That's all I want to say.

There's nothing else.

I have something to do, see you.

Stand there!

Shu Ruo Chen entering the palace is a huge event.

How can Yun Qing Xian cover it up with a few words?

Besides,

will he risk himself to hide the truth for the Long family?

This is not that simple.

What did you hide from me?

One more thing.

What deal did you make with him?

Are you suspicious that I'll harm the Long family?

I fear that you're forced.

I'm afraid you'll be hurt.

Now that Big Brother's safety is unknown,

I don't want to see you get harmed.

Ju Mu'er.

What did Yun Qing Xian make you do?

Just one word from you,

I'll use any method...

to keep you safe.

No!

Long Yue! You're arrogant and disregard other people's feelings!

I had enough!

Brother Yun didn't threaten me.

He cares for me and treats me well.

He did everything for me!

You can't be compared with him!

Are you telling the truth?

You think for the Long family!

You care for me!

It's impossible!

No!

I'm telling you the truth.

So I ask of you to be magnanimous.

Set me free.

Let go!

Master, the imperial physician is here.

We need to attend to Madam's wound.

Imperial Physician Guo was sent today.

They said Imperial Physician Wang returned to his hometown.

Imperial Physician Wang...

served well in the palace.

He served Consort Li too.

Returning to his hometown...

-is not a bad thing. -That's right.

Take care, Physician.

It's him.

What's the matter?

I saw that physician before. Something's wrong.

No.

We have to start from Consort Li.

There must be something we've missed from her corpse.

I saw Consort Li and Imperial Physician Wang coincidently.

They seemed flustered and suspicious.

Besides, Consort Li had a request made to Imperial Physician Wang.

But why did she do that?

One more thing.

Imperial Physician Wang examined her corpse himself.

The details of the report were all his words.

After that, he resigned and left the capital.

He didn't leave any message.

There's plenty of doubt.

We must investigate.

My Lord.

The person who examined Consort Li's corpse was...

Imperial Physician Wang.

Her medical reports when she was alive...

were all recorded by Imperial Physician Wang.

Nothing suspicious there.

But...

We reopened the coffin for examination...

under His Majesty's orders.

We have to report every clue we find with honesty.

How are the results?

Hurry and tell me!

Hurry!

Hurry!

My Lord, all symptoms...

are matched with Imperial Physician Wang's records.

But one thing was not recorded.

Which is...

Consort Li was three months pregnant...

before she passed away.
