Marry Me

Episode 20

Father.

Silly girl.

Criminal Investigation Bureau

You are now a grown up.

You should think before you do anything.

You should not be wilful anymore.

Glad that you are back safely

I shall not go into it any further.

Father.

You are not going to punish me?

No.

You are not going to scold me?

Criminal Investigation Bureau

I have always been occupied with my work.

I neglected the duty to educate you.

That's why you are undisciplined.

I don't blame you.

I have sought help from your aunt to send you to the palace...

to learn about courtesy.

You will have the chance to serve His Majesty.

Father.

Can I not go to the palace?

Ridiculous!

The list of concubine candidates has been given to His Majesty.

You're disobeying imperial edict if you don't go.

You are being ridiculous!

Are you okay, Aunt Mu'er?

-Mu'er. -I am alright.

Did you burn yourself?

You are supposed to take a rest.

If you need some water, you just have to tell the servant.

Your hand is not fully recovered.

If you burn yourself again, Young Master Yue will kill us.

Yes.

Aunt Mu'er, you have to take care.

I can't wait to see you playing the qin again.

Be good, Xiao Bao.

After I have fully recuperated,

I shall teach you play qin again, okay?

After consulting the physician yesterday,

I feel so much better.

I am okay now.

However,

I've left the palace for quite some time.

I wonder what is going on in the palace.

People in the palace are tough and hardened like steel.

You don't have to worry about them.

Just take a rest for a few days.

You can also take care of Xiao Bao for me.

If you are not here,

I will be worried if I have to leave him alone.

Just take care of him for me.

You are right.

I can take care of myself.

Aunt Mu'er is injured.

I should be taking care of Aunt Mu'er.

Mother,

don't worry, you can leave to work with father.

You are righteous, just like your mother.

By the way,

I haven't seen Young Master Yue for the past few days.

Uncle Yue...

Young Master Yue goes through a lot of trouble for you.

He knows that you want to get back Shi Bo Yin's qin.

Hence, he is sponsoring Empress Dowager's birthday banquet.

When has he done transactions that bring no profit?

Why is he so foolish?

Is there anything that you are hiding from me?

You should ask Young Master Yue by yourself.

We are heading out of the city, right?

Where are we going?

You don't want to stay in the Long Residence, right?

That's why I sneaked out from work to show you around.

Your voice is dull and you seem to lack energy.

I bet you must have been worried about the birthday banquet.

How did you know?

I am the one who wants to get back the qin.

It has nothing to do with you.

-You don't have to... -I am not doing this for you.

I am very close with His Majesty.

Hence, organising the birthday banquet for him is my obligation.

Furthermore,

I know what I am doing.

I can still tell what is important or not apart.

Unlike someone who almost created a huge trouble.

I insisted to play the qin and went against Imperial Noble Consort.

Did I cause trouble to the Long Family?

No.

But...

you are the only person who can affect my mood.

Be careful.

Stay safe.

-Good day, sir. -Good day, sir.

Are you here to pray?

Are you saying that I can't come here if not to pray?

Of course not.

It's just that you behaved mysteriously on the way.

I bet you have an ulterior motive.

I have kept something here.

Let me show you.

Amitabha.

This way please.

Sorry to have troubled you.

Please feel free.

I have to go.

Li Ke.

-Please guard the entrance. -Yes.

Young Master Yue, why are you so mysterious?

Go inside and you will know.

Yin

It's my master's qin.

Young Master Yue,

how did you get it?

Organising the birthday banquet was never going to be profitable.

I agreed to organise the banquet...

because I want His Majesty to be indebted to me.

So, you have been busy organising for the birthday banquet...

just to get back my master's qin?

This is...

the only thing that I can do.

The palace is full of danger.

Now,

it's back to the owner.

However,

your master was the wanted person of the government.

I can't raise a tombstone for him.

As such, I can only pray to him at the Temple of Gratitude.

I hope that he is free from struggle...

and found peace.

Let's check out the qin.

Yin

I think I saw this mark before.

My name is Ji Yan.

I am an old friend of your master.

It's Ji Yan.

There is a similar mark on her cloak.

Ji Yan must have some clues about my master's death.

It seems...

there is something hidden inside the qin.

Master,

is this what you wanted to tell me?

Don't worry.

I will prove your innocence for sure.

Thank you, Young Master Yue.

Thank you.

If you really want to thank me,

go to Music Bureau tomorrow...

and resign from the position of music instructor.

Young Master Yue, I know that...

you are doing this for my own good.

I will bear it in mind.

No matter what request you make, I won't say no.

However,

this time, I...

No.

You went to the palace to find the qin, right?

Now I have found the qin for you.

I still need to prove my master's innocence.

If you were me,

after getting some clues, would you give up on it?

Furthermore,

I found Ji Yan's mark on the qin.

She is now in the palace.

She knows some secrets for sure.

How about me?

Are you going to ignore everything I've done for you?

Am I not worth staying at the Long Residence for?

I guess it's all my wishful thinking.

You do what you have to.

Long Yue!

Long Yue!

Young Master Yue!

Young Master Yue, wait for me!

Young Master Yue!

Young Master Yue!

Why are you running around?

We are on a hill.

What if you injured yourself?

I am sorry.

I shouldn't have had left you behind.

Young Master Yue, listen to me.

It's not like what you think.

I know that you are being nice to me.

It's not that I don't want to stay at the Long Residence.

However, my master's case involves many people.

I really have no idea what is waiting ahead of me.

At the beginning,

I was alone and have no worries at all.

That's why I was dead set on having my own way.

But, now with your presence, I...

I...

I am scared.

I'm scared that I would put the Long Family in trouble.

I'm really scared that I'd hurt you.

Mu'er.

I promised to investigate the matter thoroughly.

I won't let you face it alone.

No matter what difficulty you face,

the Long Family and I will forever support you.

I will forever be on your side.

However, I shouldn't be so selfish.

My personal matter will put the Long Family in trouble.

You were alone back then.

You had to face everything on your own.

The situation has changed.

Now, you have me.

No matter what you face,

I'll face it together with you.

Your master...

is also my master.

Hence, stop leaving me behind.

Young Master Yue.

I won't leave again.

I promise that I would stay in the Long Residence.

After you find out more about Ji Yan,

we'll plan the next move.

Chen'er,

since you have entered the palace,

you need to tone down your temper.

For example, you should never leave the palace without permission.

It's Empress Dowager's birthday tomorrow.

I shall bring you along.

When the time comes,

you will get to meet His Majesty.

Got it?

Chen'er.

Chen'er!

I got it.

I'm just a little flustered being in a new environment.

Thank you for the help, Aunt.

The wind is blowing strong.

Send Her Highness back to the palace.

-Yes. -Yes.

Zhaoyu Palace

-Aunt! -Your Highness!

-Your Highness! -Help!

-Help! -Your Highness!

-Aunt! -Your Highness!

My dear.

My dear, please wake up.

I am here, my dear.

My dear.

Your Majesty, Wujin Imperial Guards led by Lord Long...

has sealed the inner court and is conducting a search.

Got it.

-You may leave now. -Yes.

Let me do it.

Zhaoyu Palace

All of you should search carefully within the area.

Don't let go of any clue.

Yes, sir.

Conduct a thorough search.

Lord Long!

Lord Long, I have something to tell you.

She should not be here.

Send her back.

Okay.

Lord Long, I know the whereabouts of that white shadow.

Zhaoyu Palace

Zhaoyu Palace

Are you sure it's here?

I am sure.

I followed the white shadow here.

This is where it disappeared.

Zhaoyu Palace

-Conduct a search! -Yes, sir!

Zhaoyu Palace

It is getting late and chilly.

Men and women should not come in contact.

You don't have to worry about me.

Big brother.

We searched high and low.

But we didn't find anything.

That is impossible.

I followed her to this area. I am sure about that.

Continue the search.

Leave no stone unturned.

Yes.

You guys go there.

-Yes. -The rest, come with me.

Yes, sir.

Are you blaming me...

because I informed Lord Shu the other day?

I didn't expect that he would send you to the palace so soon.

I will have to enter the place anyway, it is just a matter of time.

What is the difference?

But...

Your Majesty,

I found some ashes in the Cold Palace.

I think it is the remains of a special herb.

I guess the incident happened...

because someone prayed without permission.

That is ridiculous!

They dared burn joss sticks and pray without permission in the palace?

That is a taboo!

Long Teng,

make sure you investigate into the matter...

and find out the culprit.

Will do.

Who are you?

Your Majesty, I am Shu Ruo Chen.

I am the daughter of Shu Bo from Kun Palace.

Your Majesty,

it's because of Young Lady Shu bold and attentive actions...

that I managed to find the clues.

Shu Ruo Chen?

Are you one of the concubine candidates of the year?

Yes, I am.

Lift your head.

Tomorrow is the birthday banquet of the Empress Dowager.

I feel uneasy for some reason.

As a precaution,

I should bring Ju Mu'er along.

However, the Music Bureau has approved Ju Mu'er's leave application.

As the Second Young Mistress of the Long Family,

I fear that...

What is so great about the Long Family?

Are you going to go against my demand?

You better get going.

Yes, I'll see to it right away.

Who are you?

I am your friend.

After such a huge incident, who else would be here if not me?

You and I were never friends.

You are not welcome.

You should leave now.

Why do you have keep me a thousand miles away?

Am I not doing good enough in comparison to a dead man?

Shut up.

You don't have the rights to mention him.

What is so great about Shi Bo Yin?

It's my business.

You don't have to worry about it.

You are here late at night.

Why are you here?

You can hide it from everyone else but not me.

People in the palace are talking about the haunted incident.

When are you going to stop?

I can cover up the fact that you impersonated as someone else.

You set up Six Arts Court with the intention to fool the public.

I tried my best to help you but you...

But you barged in to the palace without informing me...

and committed a heavy crime.

No way I can be at ease!

I have my own plan.

From now on,

you don't have to be concerned about me at all.

The Long Family knows that you helped me set up Six Arts Court.

If you worry about being implicated,

you can report this to the authority to absolve yourself.

If I was worried about being implicated,

I wouldn't have had interfered from the start.

At this stage,

do you still not see my real intention?

And do you not realise...

my love for Bo Yin?

His death...

is caused by someone.

I am going to find out the culprit and do him justice!

How do you plan to do that?

So what if you manage to find out the culprit?

Which individual in the capital can you accuse?

Don't forget that...

Shi Bo Yin is dead!

I won't let him die for nothing.

Even if he is dead,

I will ensure his reputation stays.

I am going to fight...

for his reputation!

I fear that his reputation...

will take away your life.

Jinlong Inn

These are urgent tasks.

Go now, get them done.

-Yes. -Hurry up!

-Young Master Yue. -Young Master Yue.

Mr Tie.

How is the arrangement?

Don't worry, Young Master.

We've confirmed every detail with the person in charge in the palace.

I am sure that nothing will go wrong.

No doubt this is an unprofitable transaction.

We even invested quite a lot,

but we were rewarded for it.

Yes.

It is worthwhile for you to sacrifice however much for your wife.

I'd like to check the details again myself.

I shall be responsible for the banquet at the palace.

But things that are outside the palace will be left to you.

You don't have to be so polite, Young Master.

Young Master Yue!

Something bad happened.

Some people are here claiming that they are sent by Consort Li.

-They have abducted Second Young Mistress. -What?

Those servants are sharp-tongued.

They said the Long Family can't afford to hold Consort Li back.

Young Mistress left with them after hearing that.

Consort Li is in no position to interfere in the Long Family's affairs.

Let's go to the palace.

Go.

Zhao Li Palace

Greetings, Your Highness.

Let's skip the courtesy.

You have left the palace for many days.

I have missed you.

I am glad that you are back in time for the Empress Dowager's birthday banquet.

Thank you for the recognition, Your Highness.

To be frank,

you are getting good in playing qin.

You will stand out in the birthday banquet for sure.

With you around,

I will be more confident.

Don't worry.

I am not an unreasonable person.

After the birthday banquet,

I will send you back to the Long Residence...

so that you can reunite with your husband.

Thank you for being considerate, Your Highness.

Come here.

What can I help you with, Your Highness?

In the palace, everyone tries to outwit each other.

I think you have seen the tricks played by Consort Shu.

The guqin performance tonight...

is of the utmost importance to me.

I could say it is a matter of life and death.

At this stage,

I will only feel at ease if the qin is with you.

I can promise with my life that...

before your performance,

the qin will stay intact.

Please don't worry, Your Highness.

Send the qin to Ms Ju's room.

Without my permission,

no one is allowed to go inside.

You will guard the qin before the banquet starts.

Yes, Your Highness.

Shangyang Gate

Big Brother.

Calm down.

You will ruin the matter if you are rash.

I have to go to the palace.

You should go to the palace,

for the sake of Empress Dowager's birthday banquet,

not for Ju Mu'er.

It seems that you know what happened.

So why still stop me?

You know that if Mu'er is involved in it, Consort Shu will not let her go.

At this point, many things are going on in the palace.

Don't lose your judgment.

If you believe in me,

don't create more trouble in the palace.

Do your duty.

Ensure the birthday banquet goes on smoothly.

Leave the rest to me.

I guarantee that I will send Mu'er back.

Do things according to the situation.

You should know how to differentiate what is important and what is not.

Just for a night.

After the birthday banquet,

no one can stop me from bring Mu'er back home.

Lord Long, Young Master Yue.

Lord Ding.

I heard that...

the Empress Dowager's birthday banquet...

is completely handled by the Long Family.

After seeing the venue,

it is indeed outstanding.

Young Master Yue is truly a rare, talented young man.

Thank you for the compliment, Lord Ding.

His Majesty trusts the Long Family.

Of course we will do our best.

Great.

The banquet is indeed outstanding.

His Majesty made it an exception...

and allowed you to attend the banquet together with the government officials.

It shows that the Long Family has done something meritorious.

Young Master Long, don't be overly humble.

Come on.

Let's take a seat.

-This way, please. -Let's take a seat.

Mr. Ding, this way please.

Please.

I am surprised that many talents are hidden in the Long Family.

Not only is the banquet nicely organised,

they are also in charge of the performance.

Why did you say that, Lord Yun?

I heard...

Young Mistress Long is attending the birthday banquet too.

She is invited by Consort Li.

Later, Consort Li is going to perform...

a song composed by Young Mistress Long.

Lord Yun knows everything in details.

You even understand the affairs of the Long Family so well.

Here.

Cheers, Lord Yun.

Your Highness, in two hours,

you will be performing at the banquet.

Got it.

Qiu Yin.

Burn the incense.

Yes.

I want to get ready in peace.

You may leave now.

Without my permission,

no one is allowed to come in.

Yes.

Great! What a great dance.

Everyone is rewarded.

Thank you, Your Majesty.

Mother,

there are more interesting performances after this.

Consort Li had started preparing a present for you since a few months back.

She will be performing last at the climax.

She has put in a lot of effort to please you.

What will Consort Li perform?

You will know after watching her performance.

You are right.

I can be the witness.

Consort Li has been practising hard lately.

Her filial piety is obvious to everyone.

I shall enjoy the performance.

Yes.

It is almost time for Consort Li to perform.

After the performance,

everything will come to an end.

Didn't I say that...

no one is allowed to come inside without my permission?

Help!

Help!

It's time.

Why hasn't Consort Li come to get her qin?

Help!

-Consort Li! -Help!

Help! This place is haunted!

The palace is haunted!

Your Highness, what happened?

My face!

-My face! -Please calm down, Your Highness.

Please calm down. There is no injury on your face.

I saw her!

It's her. I saw her!

Your Highness, what happened?

-I saw her. -Who did you see?

I...

No, I need to get help.

Don't leave me alone.

Please don't leave. Please don't leave alone.

Your Highness, hear me out.

Stay here and don't go anywhere. I shall go get help.

What is going on?

Why hasn't Consort Li come?

It is Consort Li's turn to perform.

Why hasn't she appeared?

-What is going on? -What noise is that?

What is that sound?

Where is it coming from?

Your Majesty.

-What is wrong? -This...

It is the Fuxi Score.

It was played before Shi Bo Yin died.

Protect His Majesty!

Yes!

Big Brother!

Mu'er!

Help!

Is there anyone?

Help!

Young Master Yue, she...

Mu'er, are you okay?

Consort Li!

Hold on!

When I left the building,

the door was wide open.
