Cold and pale
You enter the realm of the night
For when darkness displaces light
It awakens that which clings to life
A long, long time ago,
when the nights were still dark,
the world was ruled by the creatures of the night.
Vampires, werewolves, evil elves, witches, trolls and other monsters
spread fear and terror among humans.
But as the centuries passed,
these evil creatures gradually changed.
The once fearsome monsters became peace-loving creatures
who no longer wished to spread terror.
Some of these magical creatures still live undetected among us.
Others, however, have retreated to secret locations all over the world,
which can only be reached via magical forests.
This is where the story of the young vampire Vlad Tepesch begins,
as he and his father leave our world and head for Crailsfelden.
At the personal invitation of the town's mayor,
Vlad is about to start his first year at a renowned magic school.
But unbeknown to Vlad and his father,
their arrival is all part of a long-standing evil plan
to plunge the world back into darkness.
Where is this place?
We've been in this forest for hours.
In the arse end of nowhere, I fear.
Okay. Finding "the arse end of nowhere."
If CraiIsfelden were easy to find, everyone wouId come here.
No results for "Crailsfelden."
Crailsfelden! Home for over 700 years
to the world-famous school of magic, the Riffraff Academy.
You useless piece ofjunk!
This street does not exist on any maps.
Please turn around. Please turn around.
-Return to a marked road. -Why are we stopping?
What is it?
We have to sign in.
With whom?
Nobody's here.
Hello, we're new here. Vlad and Barnabas Tepesch.
Documents?
Certainly.
It's you!
Yes.
"When time runs forward no more and trouble lurks round every door,
one will come, and three must unite
to conquer their weakness and be ready to fight,
to chase out the devil and fiII Crailsfelden with light."
Ah, yes, this Iooks good.
Found them. Here.
WeIcome to Crailsfelden.
Thank you.
Thanks.
I thought he'd be bigger.
-Who was that? -No idea.
Guarding a bridge aII aIone for 1 ,000 years
cIearly takes its toll.
On dentaI hygiene too.
You have reached "the arse end of nowhere."
3,687 INHABITANTS
-Well, what do you think? -Cool.
It looks Iike...
-Another time? -Crazy.
Crailsfelden Town HaII. Impressive, huh?
A famous local poet, Allraun von Götze, wrote an ode to it.
"When Crailsfelden Town HaII strikes 13,
the world as you know it will cease to be."
Dad.
Oh, my goodness.
-Are you hurt? -No.
-But my bicycIe... -What happened?
The bike, it transformed into this oId thing and...
What on earth...
You think that's funny, boy?
It wasn't me.
Barely arrived and already playing magic tricks?
Are you even in school?
Sorry, Constable.
He just rode out in front of us.
I didn't mean to. My bike just turned into this.
Get this old piece ofjunk off the streets.
-Right away. -And, you, on your way.
Yes, Constable. Thank you.
I'll be keeping my eye on you.
Come on, Vlad. It's fine.
Move it along. Nothing to see here.
Vladi! There it is!
We'll live upstairs and have our antique shop downstairs.
Dad.
-The place is barely standing. -Nonsense.
Absolute poppycock.
A lick of paint and it'II be good as new.
There's even parking.
No way. We'll never fit.
Sure we wilI.
-I'll use my Nosferatu Sensor. -Oh, no.
Sorry, dry throat.
Help me unload?
It's perfect.
Just perfect.
Look.
The perfect place for Agamemnon's sword.
We'll set up Tehuti's telescope over there.
And there, we'll have the GoIden Fleece corner.
Vlad, what's wrong?
What if I make a fool of myself at this new school?
Vladi, they invited you here because they believe in you.
And I'm sure you'II quickly find friends who are just like you.
It'll be...
Great.
I hope so.
Come here.
You can let go now, Dad.
I can't breathe.
TAILORING
Tomorrow is Vlad's big day, Julia.
I wish you could be here too.
Good evening. Rübezahl.
From the tax office. HoId this.
You owe registration fees, acquisition tax,
-property tax, income tax... -I'm not even open yet.
...school fees, garbage-eater fees,
-chiId support. -I shouId receive chiId support.
Not here.
You have seven days to pay.
Otherwise, we seize the property and you must leave.
Please, you can't do this.
Complaints can be filed at the town hall between 8.00 and 8.13 a.m.
Please, this is crazy.
I can't afford--
Were you up all night?
Just sorting out a few tax issues.
WeII, son, ready for the big day?
Yeah, I am.
I'll be ready. The earIy bat catches the worm.
Wow. Here we are.
I just have to sort out a teeny-weeny thing at the town hall.
-You're not coming? -I'll be back in time. I promise.
Trust me, Vlad, I wouldn't miss this for the world.
Give that back! Hey!
What are you doing?
Stop being mean!
-Come on. -This isn't funny any more.
Give it back.
The Pig Pack.
Three against two now?
Wow. You're so brave.
Let's go. We shouId get good seats for the freak show.
See you around, Ginger.
Thanks.
That makes 778 good deeds.
Elves to the rescue.
-Who was that? -PimpIe Face, Meat Head and Pork Cheeks.
What?
I thought you meant the Pig Pack. That's Faye and her friends.
-Fairy? -No, Faye.
-F-A-Y-E. -Okay.
-I'm WoIf, by the way. -Vlad.
Hello.
Just so you know, I could have floored him myself.
But I didn't want to hurt anyone, so I left them to it.
-Sure. -Year Seven, huh?
How cooI is that? My dad and I have been preparing for months.
WoIf...
-Drool. -Oh, yeah.
Sorry, I'm so excited. Are you?
-It's okay to be nervous. -Sure.
We're in the front row. You can sit next to me.
You're safe with me. A big, strong...
-Wolfi? -Mama.
Don't calI him Wolfi. He's alI grown up now.
Isn't that right, my strong pack leader?
This is my new friend, Vlad.
It's starting. Come on.
So, let's just take a Iook.
WitchBay.
Can I help you?
Hello. Sorry to interrupt.
My name is Tepesch.
I'm here to file a tax compIaint.
It's this list of charges.
There's no way I can pay right away.
Perhaps in instalments...
My dear Mr Tepesch...
every new citizen in Crailsfelden
must, of course, contribute to our small community.
-Of course. -If you can't,
there are plenty of other magic towns.
YetipoIis, perhaps.
Or...
Mumania.
But the Riffraff Academy,
there's only one of those in the world.
So you want to throw us out?
No.
Perhaps you have something... worth selling.
I heard you own quite a special trinket.
Small.
Red.
Pointy.
That you can wear around the neck.
The blood fragment.
Where are you, Dad?
I'm sure he'll be here.
Don't miss the speech, Master Tepesch.
How do you know my name?
Pleased to meet you. I'm Hannappel.
You reaIly must go in, trust me. You don't want to miss it.
Hey, not you. Come back.
Stop there, young lady.
Esteemed parents.
My dear students.
The number seven has always been a magic number.
Even the old alchemists knew
that seven is the number of new beginnings,
of transition,
of transformation.
It's no coincidence that a new week begins every seven days.
And like the Seven Wonders of the WorId, we now have you,
our new Year Sevens.
More like the Seven Dwarfs.
Entering the seventh year symbolises the beginning of...
your own voyage of discovery.
I saved you a seat.
-Your seventh year is a magical year. -Late on the first day? TypicaI.
This is when you inherit your family's Iegacy.
We've owned the blood fragment for generations.
Good morning.
Is there a problem, Ms Circemeyer?
Lord Mayor.
Yes, well, there wouldn't be if Mr Tepesch here
wouId make a tiny sacrifice to stay here in CrailsfeIden.
He owes taxes.
I see.
WeII, first of alI,
welcome to Crailsfelden, my good man.
Hello, Lord Mayor.
Relocation costs, a new acquisition.
-Welcome money. -Welcome money? But...
-Yes, you have to pay that too. -All these things cost money.
I would be willing
to pay you a pretty sum for that blood fragment.
I would now like to present
the new Year Seven students.
DanieI Husorg.
Julia Astra.
Bernd Arkoba.
Zirbel Zalah.
Marie UItrom.
WoIf Wermann.
Faye Lemagne.
Undine Wull.
Vlad Tepesch.
Karin Lasters.
Lord Mayor, even if I wanted to, the bIood fragment beIongs to my son.
Is that so?
It was his mother's, my Iate wife's.
Vlad wouId never sell it.
How moving.
We are very grateful you invited us here, but--
But, Mr Tepesch,
there are more important things than taxes.
We will find a solution, my good man.
Thank you, Lord Mayor. I must go.
Wait.
In two days, the solar eclipse
is taking place on the Crailsfelden town square.
-You should come. -Of course, Lord Mayor. Until then.
This is it.
"My magic brings it to Iife.
What is hidden, show your face.
What has laid in darkness...
the time has come.
Trust in the light."
What did I miss?
Salamandra.
-Cool. -Berndi.
Finally.
You look great, darIing.
Hey, look.
Yes, WoIfi!
My Wolfi.
That's my son.
Bravo, Vladi! Bravo!
Oh, God, it's too high!
-I'm filming this. -Help!
Get me down!
Focus.
-Faye. -Vladi.
Vladi.
You okay? Are you hurt?
-Thank God you're okay. -Are you all right?
What's wrong? You're bleeding.
Did you bite your lip?
SOLAR ECLIPSE
And? Are you feeling better?
You've got some--
Vampire vomit.
DracuIa wouId have turned in his grave.
Which wouldn't be easy with a wooden stake in his...
You said I'd become a proper vampire in Year Seven.
Now I'm not just the new kid, I'm the new freak.
The Iaughing stock.
We should never have come here.
Vlad, I know everything isn't going exactly how we wanted, but...
-Everyone wiII have forgotten by tomorrow. -Forgotten?
A vampire who can't stand blood?
Once your body's gotten used to it, it will come naturally.
And meanwhile, we'll ease you in.
A glass of blood orange in the morning,
a juicy steak in the afternoon,
a sIice of black pudding now and again.
What? AIIergic to fur?
Yes, it's very common.
-Don't worry. -Don't worry?
Don't worry? We're werewolves!
And I'm the pack leader. What are the others going to think?
-They'll Iaugh their fur off. -I'll be off.
Drink plenty of eIectrolytes.
-Thank you. Goodbye. -Goodbye.
Horst.
Vlad, I know this is hard for you.
But you will be okay. Please believe me.
It wiII aII get better.
I'll just get rid of this.
Maybe... we couId try aromatherapy?
The Harmanns' son tore apart his first rabbit in Year Seven.
And my son is allergic to fur!
Horst. How about homeopathy?
Homeopathy?
Herbal remedies? Don't make me sick.
Vlad?
Bye-bye.
Do you have the fragment?
-I'm fine. Thanks for asking. -The fragment.
Finally.
-No. -What happened?
-A recall speII. -A what?
The blood fragment
is protected by a recall spell.
It can only change hands
if the owner hands it over of his own free will.
Almost like it's cursed.
There's the crash pilot.
She just crashes.
-He's bleeding to death. Help. -Let's get out of here.
Oh, my God. So much blood.
Help. Vlad.
-What's going on? -He really bought it.
Is everything okay, VIad?
You should be ashamed of yourselves.
A shape-shifter, a night elf and a trainee wizard
must have better things to do.
Someone should cIean that up.
You get started.
TROLL BRIDGE
What are you doing here?
-I want to leave. You too? -No.
I got confused and thought it was the class hike.
-Whatever. -Sorry.
I didn't mean it. It's just...
I can't go back to Crailsfelden.
What are you doing here?
-I hate the woods. -Are you okay?
You running away too?
I want to see the world, have adventures and face danger
to show my dad I'm a real woIf man.
-With that tiger backpack? -Yes, and?
All right, weIl, let's be outcasts together.
It's a cool backpack.
You don't need to be afraid now.
You've got me, and I'm a dangerous--
Who goes here?
Just let us pass.
You can't leave.
None of you can leave.
You must first fuIfil the prophecy.
"When time runs forward no more and trouble lurks round every door,
one will come, and three must unite
to conquer their weakness and be ready to fight,
to chase out the devil and fiII Crailsfelden with light."
I don't care. I'm going.
Don't make me angry.
You won't like me when I'm angry.
I don't like you now either.
Okay, Quasimodo.
Let us pass, or we'll...
What if we say we're really, really sorry?
You're... staying...
here!
Leave the chiIdren alone!
Kids, come on.
What now has a wicked eye,
lose your evil by and by.
Salamandra!
Okay, wrong spell. Don't panic.
Stay calm. Stay caIm.
Where is it?
Demons hate salt.
Run!
He shouldn't have done that.
I didn't mean it that way.
Are you a wizard, Mr Hannappel?
WeII, I've been banned from using it at schooI
since the production of The Flying Classroom.
But they aImost all made it down. Cream?
Yes.
Salamandra.
So, chiIdren, tell me why you wanted to leave Crailsfelden.
A vampire who can't stand blood, a fairy who's afraid of flying
and a werewoIf with a fur allergy--
it's unusuaI.
-But running away won't help. -Well, we can't stay here.
There must be another way out.
No, only via the bridge.
Crailsfelden is surrounded by a magical forest.
You could walk for days and still come out where you went in.
But it's strange.
He onIy checks those entering.
-Anyone can leave. -Why not us?
Good question.
Let's take a look in Strange Ways and Creepy Customs of Crailsfelden.
Volume 13, page 777.
Salamandra!
Let's see...
Here we are.
Nope, nothing.
More hot chocolate?
-No, thanks. -Sure.
Why not?
Good.
"Liber Omnis Scientia:
The Forbidden Library, beyond the Abyss of Ignorance."
-Liber Omnis-- what? -It's Latin.
Liber Omnis Scientia. The book of all knowledge.
-Cream on top? -Yes, please.
Almost ready. Salamandra!
Is ketchup okay?
Do you have lactose-free? I'm allergic.
-Sorry? -With a pinch of cinnamon.
Sure... No probIem.
It must explain the prophecy that dumb troll was on about.
-And if we can fulfil it... -We'll be the heroes of CrailsfeIden.
My dad wouId be so impressed.
-At Ieast the troII wouId let us go. -Almost done.
Salamandra!
Spiders! I hate spiders!
-So, where is this book? -In the Forbidden Library.
Right.
Coming.
I know where it is.
Children, it's getting late.
You should probably get home.
I should put out the kitchen.
-You're right. -You've been a great help.
ReaIly? Oh, great.
I'm very pleased to hear it.
You okay, Wolf?
Yeah, it's just all these trees.
They make me need to-- you know, to pee.
-You're not serious? -No, course not. Gotcha.
Wait.
-What was that? -Elven dust.
It can heal.
That's really your thing, huh?
"Elves to the rescue." Remember?
I've never met a fairy before.
I grew up around humans.
I didn't even know I was a vampire untiI I was four.
And your mother?
My mother died in an accident.
I can barely remember her.
-This is aII I have left of her. -It's a magical crystal, right?
Is it under a recaII spell?
-How do you know? -I know a bit about crystal magic.
I actually wanted to study it, but...
Now.
There.
FORBIDDEN LIBRARY
A map. Let's see.
FLOOR PLAN
So, we're here. Where do we go now?
Liber Omnis Scientia. The book of all knowledge.
SheIf number 313.
-I think we go through here. -Hey, guys?
-Then straight ahead. -Can you give me a hand?
We can just walk in?
Okay, I guess not.
I'll distract him. You get the book. Okay?
-Treats. -Why do you have those?
It's my lunch.
ShaII we be friends?
Faye.
"Beyond the Abyss of Ignorance."
How do we get across?
-Fly? -No way.
Forget it.
The Iibrary's over there.
Its purpose is to overcome ignorance.
It must be an opticaI illusion.
Watch.
Pretty good illusion.
Friends of yours?
Friends... Friends...
The Nosferatu Sensor.
I know Nosferatu, but...
Bats have this built-in radar.
With ultrasound. And?
Maybe I have it now too. But don't laugh.
-Did you see anything? -Invisible pillars.
We can make it, but--
We have to jump.
Come on. You can do it.
We'll jump together. Just hold on and close your eyes.
Do you remember where the pilIars are?
Yes, of course...
More or less.
Trust me, okay? On three.
One, two,
three!
Okay, the next one was... there?
Or to the right.
-Vlad. -It's all right.
I remember.
One, two, three.
-Thanks. -Elves to the rescue.
One, two, three.
We did it!
Okay, Head Mistress.
I'll talk to him. Not at all. He's never--
Thank you for your call. Goodbye, Head Mistress.
Ms Circemeyer.
-I was just about to-- -My dear Mr Tepesch.
Barnabas.
Wouldn't it be a shame
if you and little Vladi had to Ieave Crailsfelden?
WeII, yes.
If you could convince your son
to seII the bIood fragment...
then you could stay here forever.
In Crailsfelden.
With me.
I'll talk to him right away,
once I find him.
What?
WeII, he ran away from school. I was about to go and look for him.
But perhaps, in the meantime,
I can interest you in an antique.
Like Barbarossa's beard trimmer.
A unique piece.
Perfect for bewitching haircuts.
Ms Circemeyer?
Whoa.
I knew it.
It's not that high.
Just close your eyes and fly up. I'll direct you.
Got a remote controI?
May I?
Delicious.
No? Okay. You're the boss.
Left, more to the left.
And a little bit higher.
Even higher?
I'm afraid so.
Guys.
I'm almost out of treats.
You're nearIy there.
Reach out your hand.
Just a little higher.
There.
Got it?
Yep, right in the face.
You must be full now, right?
I don't have any more.
Am I down? Can I open my eyes?
Yes. You were great.
I hate to rush you, but...
Guys.
Good boy. It's okay.
It's okay.
-What took you so long? -Run!
Go.
Everyone okay?
WoIf, you didn't sneeze once.
You're right.
What do you mean he's not home? Find him!
I need the fragment.
One moment.
Signal's bad. No Witch-Fi.
Found him.
With two other snotty-nosed kids.
What do they have there?
That's the Liber Omnis Scientia!
How on earth did they get that?
That was the latest modeI.
CooI. A built-in browser.
Caution, readers.
There is one among us who cannot stand
that magical beings have become peaceful creatures.
Lord Lucifer the Terrible.
I mean... wow.
The Prince of Darkness has just one goal.
He wants to turn back time
so that all vampires, werewolves and all other creatures of the night
become the same evil monsters
that they once were.
As his Army of Darkness,
they will bring the human world back under his power.
Know this and tremble in fear
at the 13th hour, when--
When what?
Someone tore out the last page.
I made sure centuries ago
that nobody would learn too much from this damn book.
-Everything's fine then. -Nothing is fine.
If these brats warn the rest of CrailsfeIden...
They won't.
Okay. At the 13th hour,
Lucifer will do something
to turn all magical creatures evil.
But what?
-There is no 13th hour. -Apparently there is.
And then all of Crailsfelden will turn back into monsters
and slaves.
Witch ointment,
flying spell, shrinking powder...
There you are.
Reverse curse.
Have fun, my little one.
Turn their words around in their mouths.
-We have to teII our parents. -We'll caII each other after, okay?
DeaI.
Dad? Dad.
Vladi.
-There you are. Everything okay? -Yeah, great.
-Good, I was worried. -Why? Everything's fine.
-Nothing bad happens here. -True.
Vladi, the thing is...
Ms Circemeyer, the mayor's assistant,
she was here, and she's willing to pay a pretty sum
for the blood fragment.
Great!
Vladi, before you answer,
I know it means a lot to you.
It's a memento of your mother, but...
-Did you say "great"? -Yes.
I'm so glad you understand.
Vladi, if we sell it, you can stay at the school and I can...
Vladi.
Can I come in?
Of course.
What's wrong, son? You can tell me anything.
I know, Dad. I'm telling you how I feeI.
Ms Circemeyer is really rather Iovely.
Such a striking nose.
-WouId you like to meet her? -Sure.
-I've got nothing else going on. -Oh, good.
Tomorrow morning?
You can come with me to seII the bIood fragment.
ShaII I give it a quick polish?
Put it in a nice jewellery box with a ribbon?
Sounds good.
I was probably the same as a teenager.
-Guys, you won't believe this. -Let me guess.
You tried to warn your dad,
but you said the opposite of what you meant.
Same here. I was taIking nonsense.
My mother even called Dr Frankenberg.
But he won't come because Dad bit him.
I looked it up. It's a reverse curse.
It's illegal black magic.
It makes us say the opposite of what we actually want to say.
-But we're taIking normalIy now. -Because all three of us are cursed.
Okay, so we have to work out Lucifer's plan on our own.
I'll check the book again. Maybe there's more.
Okay, and I'lI look into the thing about the 13th hour.
And I'll find out how magical beings turn evil.
Okay, meet at the fountain at 8.00 a.m. tomorrow.
-Okay. -See you then.
"But he was not blessed with heirs.
Thus, AIfreth the Angry was succeeded by Crailsbert III.
In the year 1312, it happened that...
Allraun von Götze compIeted his famous 'Ode to...
Crailsfelden' on March 17, 1455, at 1 1 .37 a.m....
The date of May 23 of the year 1845
was the least eventful day in the history of Crailsfelden.
It started to drizzle at around 4.00 p.m.
At the same time, a sack of coal fell over in the dwarven forge"...
"When Crailsfelden Town HaII strikes 13"...
"...the world as you know it will cease to be."
"When the course of time runs forward no more"...
You think that's funny, boy?
...and trouble lurks round every door"...
My bike turned into this old thing.
Time.
Vlad. The 13th hour.
It's from an oId poem about the town hall.
By Allraun von Götze.
"Ode to CrailsfeIden," written March 17, 1455.
I know all about it.
And I found just one way to turn magical beings evil again.
-With a dark crystal magic that-- -Turns back time.
When I arrived with my dad, the bIood fragment lit up
just as we were passing the town hall.
At that very moment,
-things went back in time. -At the town hall?
When the town hall strikes 13,
the world ends.
This spell...
It has something to do with my blood fragment.
No offence, Vlad,
but your crystal is way too small for such a powerful spell.
-Unless... -Something makes it stronger.
Look what she posted. Her photos are awesome.
My brand new phone.
It's a totally oId one.
-Get rid of it. -A time spell.
Definitely.
-Come on. -Wait.
Don't forget we're skipping school.
What about Schnappauf?
True. We forgot about the constable.
Distract him.
I'll climb in the window, crawl through the vents...
WoIf, that's great, but I have a better idea.
Vampires have no reflection, so I can't be filmed.
If you distract him...
-What do you want? -Hello.
We're visiting the town hall on a school trip.
-We're early. -I knew nothing about this.
Wait outside until your teacher gets here.
Have you ever noticed that your screen shows everything in reverse?
-What? -When I wave, you see my left hand.
Not my right.
Of course I see the left. WeII, from your perspective.
From my perspective, it's the right. And the screen--
It doesn't even matter.
Beat it.
You're so clever.
Bye.
-Wolf? -Wolf Den to Bat Cave.
-Seen anything? -No, but--
-There are zombies. -I read about that.
They replaced civil servants with zombies to save money.
They work just as fast and no one can tell the difference.
Don't worry. They're harmless.
My crystal's going crazy.
-Be careful. -I think the crystal
is being drawn to the tower.
Vlad, where are you now?
-I'm in the tower. -What do you see?
A massive crystal.
More complaints...
A time spell.
Boss!
No!
Vlad? What is it?
This is too weird, guys. I'm coming back.
-Hey. Where did you come from? -The school trip.
The others already left.
And?
The massive crystal, my fragment is a part of it.
Where did you get it?
My mother's family owned it for centuries.
It must have been passed on to her for her to Iook after.
-She must have been a powerful sorceress. -What? Why?
Such powerful crystals are given to special guardians.
There's only one in every generation.
-My dad never told me. -Your backpack.
It's gone back in time.
-What about-- -The book.
I smell a child. No question.
It was that vampire brat.
He was here with that fragment.
I can stiII feeI its energy.
The crystal was almost whole again.
I have roamed the world for 1 ,000 years,
spilling the blood of great sorcerers
to recover every singIe fragment of this crystal.
And now, the very Iast fragment
is in the hands of this ridicuIous child.
Find the boy!
Of course. I've just got a teeny-weeny screen problem.
It's like it was before.
Before the page was torn out.
The ink is even wet.
That's not ink. It's-- I mean--
It's ink. Nice red ink.
"Know this and tremble."
At the 1 3th hour, when Mani's chariot reaches his sister Sol
and topples her from her flaming throne,
Lucifer will create his Army of Darkness in the blood-red light,
and the world will become his slave.
That's really helpful.
Mani's chariot...
-Who's Mani? -Guys.
-And his chariot? -It's right here.
On Magipedia.
In Norse mythology, he's the god who rides the moon chariot.
The sun.
When Mani topples his sister SoI from her flaming throne...
It must mean the solar eclipse.
And that's today.
Look.
No way.
Mayor Louis Ziffer... is Lucifer.
The crystal's in the town hall tower where, in a few hours,
everyone will gather to watch the solar eclipse.
The crystal's magic light will strike everyone.
-We can't Iet that happen. -What can we do?
There's only one way.
How much longer?
We have to find the boy.
They're by the troll bridge.
Time is running out. I'll deaI with these kids myself.
And you take care of the bloodsucker's father.
Yes, boss.
Off I fly.
Forgot my broom.
Vlad, is there no other way?
Faye?
I'm afraid not, WoIf.
TROLL BRIDGE
The fragment must Ieave Crailsfelden,
which means I must leave.
Otherwise, it will just keep returning to me.
We could come with you.
Then who will watch over Crailsfelden?
Elves to the rescue and all that.
Boy, are you stupid?
You're not aIIowed to leave.
"When the course of time runs forward no more
and trouble lurks"--
TroubIe...
WeII, now it says that you may Ieave Crailsfelden
and save the town.
That's all. It doesn't even rhyme.
That's good, at least.
But think about this carefully.
Once you leave,
you can never return.
That's the whole point.
Right.
WeII, then...
farewell.
Faye!
The blood fragment, Vlad Tepesch.
You will bring it to the town haII in one hour,
-or this fairy godmother's days are over. -No, VIad!
Now there's onIy one thing we can do.
Barny.
Ms Circemeyer.
What a wonderfuI surprise.
I'm very worried about Vlad.
Perhaps you could help me look.
Forget your son.
Focus on adoring me for the next 100 years,
Barny.
Wouldn't that be wonderful, my littIe bat man?
Oh, yes.
Are you sure we shouldn't warn them?
There's no time. Come on.
BE RIGHT BACK
Has anyone ever toId you what a striking nose you have?
Oh, you noticed?
And your freckles sparkle like bats in the moonlight.
What's that at the town haII?
Looks like black magic.
Black magic?
I don't think that-- that...
What are you doing?
What are you doing? Don't give it to him.
Faye.
And why not?
You should be thankful.
Soon the crystal's full powers
will be restored
and you will turn into your true selves once again.
Under my rule!
The blood fragment, Vlad Tepesch.
Finally.
What are you looking for?
Tehuti's telescope. It shows if someone's up to no good.
Vlad?
Mayor Ziffer, with horns?
You and Ziffer are in cahoots. You bewitched me.
What's a witch to do?
ToiI and trouble.
You will not stop me
from helping my son.
Everyone in Crailsfelden
is gathered under the tower.
Come on. Come on.
And now...
I shall create my Army... of Darkness.
One.
Why are you doing this?
-Three. -You wouldn't understand.
Try me.
-The world... -Four.
...was born out of darkness.
-And in darkness... -Six.
...is how it will die.
-The creatures of the night... -Seven.
...were made to rule over the world...
-Eight. -...under my command...
-Nine. -...because I am
Lucifer!
-Eleven. -Ruler of the Night!
Twelve.
What?
Thirteen.
No! No!
No!
How can that be?
There you are.
Before we came here, I gave the fragment to Mr Hannappel.
A thousand years of preparation...
You have a plan to get us out of here, right?
...ruined by three useless brats!
Vlad!
WoIf! We need a strong,
fearless werewoIf.
You can do it.
Fly, little fairy.
No, Faye!
Is that the best you can do?
What... did you...
do?
You're about as scary as...
a sausage dog.
Which would you prefer?
Pig?
Frog?
Or a cave-dwelling amphibian?
I need to help my son.
And you're in my way.
Listen, boy.
I could use someone like you...
as a bedside rug.
Faye.
You're bIeeding.
For luck.
Die, puppy.
You can't escape me.
Leave my friends alone.
Vlad, the crystal.
This is the end.
3,689 INHABITANTS
-Was that it? -So lame.
What a show, eh?
You okay?
Yes.
What happened?
Short circuit. Crystal magic.
Guys!
Yes!
-I'm here, Vlad. -So I see, Dad.
Are you okay, son? I was so worried.
-What happened? -Well, I was a werewoIf.
Sort of. And Faye flew.
And Vlad was a vampire.
He drank bIood.
Maybe we won't tell the others
everything.
And so it was that Vlad, Faye and Wolf,
the unlikeliest of heroes,
defeated the devil himself.
Thanks to them,
humans and mythical creatures alike,
were saved from Lucifer's eternal reign of power.
But we saved the whole town, and nobody noticed.
It's probably for the best, Wolf.
You know, some might like to be wild and dangerous again.
Let sIeeping dogs lie.
Don't guzzle like that.
But it's so good.
Oh, and, Vlad, I think this belongs to you.
I'm giving it back.
-Thank you. -Your mother would be proud.
And so am I.
By the way, the kiss, it was only for tacticaI reasons.
Okay?
-You kissed? -Dad.
It's none of my business, but on the cheek or...
See you later, Dad.
-Tactical reasons, huh? -Tactics.
-Yes, tactics. Very important. -The most important.
Without tactics, we're tactIess. It's how we tick.
So guys, if we're in a gang now, we need a name.
-Like... -The Pig Pack.
WeII, no, I was thinking,
The Wolf--
WeII, well.
Why are you three losers in such a good mood?
You're mine, Ginger. My name's on your forehead.
-Really? It says "Pimple Face"? -Hey.
-He's Pimple Face. He's Meat Head. -What did you call me?
-It was her. -No, it wasn't.
-PimpIe Face is right. -He's Pimple Face.
-Shut up, Pig Cheeks. -Can we pass?
-Don't interrupt Meat Head and Pig Cheeks. -What did you call me?
-Shut up. -You shut up, Pimple Face.
Get off. Get off.
So, about our name. What do you think of--
the WoIf Gang!
The dark night falls around us like a veil
And there are many wishes We have not yet fulfilled
We've had some adventures That much is for sure
To the end of this world Where we can't be stopped any more
I am who l am, and you are who you are
We're as different as stars In the night sky
I am who l am, and you are who you are
We belong together Like the colours of light
I am who l am, and you are who you are
We're as different as stars In the night sky
There may not be much In the world that remains
But we are a gang for eternity
You wouId have liked CrailsfeIden too.
Vlad?
Mama.
Vlad, you're not safe here. They're coming.
Who's coming?
The Night Hunters.
Cold and pale
You enter the realm of the night
For when darkness displaces light
It awakens that which clings to life
Foreign land
I'll take you by the hand
You won't believe what happens then
This dream has come to an end
Your life takes our course now
And no one can break you out
You're just like me, we are alone
We will always be on our own
White becomes black, stone turns to sand
I know it's hard to understand
You're just like me, the veil falls
Darkness is now our world
We are strong, we are fearless We are ready
And we will conquer time
Don't worry, my little Ziffer.
I've got superglue in my cupboard.
I'll stick you back together.
FOR MY GODFATHER WOLFGANG
...WHO ELSE?
