Mermaid Prince Episode 8

Fenfen.

-You must wake up! -Fenfen.

How is she now?

-Fenfen. -The ambulance has arrived! -She woke up, hurry up.

Come on, hurry up.

-Come on, lift her up. -Come on.

Hurry up.

-Let’s go. -Let’s go, go.

-Be careful, hurry up. -Go, go, go. -Fenfen.

Fenfen.

These should be Professor Cui’s stuff.

Wait!

Fortunately, it didn’t fly far. Give it to me.

Isn’t that a merman?

It must be painted by Professor Cui’s daughter.

Looks that she also likes the sea.

I think she fell into the water accidentally.

No.

I don’t think she fell into the water.

She wanted to die.

How is this possible?

Fenfen is so young.

How could she want to die?

Besides, look at this.

It looks so positive.

She must be optimistic.

Anyway,

I don’t think it’s that simple.

How about this?

Let’s go to the hospital

to visit Professor Cui’s daughter,

and check it out.

Okay.

Excuse me, what happened?

Are you Cui Fenfen’s family?

What’s wrong with her?

She has been having a tantrum.

Why don’t you go and calm her down?

Why did he save me?

Fenfen.

I have stomach cancer.

And I don’t want any more treatment.

I am so painful.

I don’t even want to be alive.

I’m sick, not you.

Fenfen.

It would be better

if I were released.

Fenfen.

Since your mother died,

I have only you.

If anything happens to you,

how can I live?

You don’t care about me.

-I... -Don’t pretend to care about me.

All you cared about was your paper.

I’d rather not be your daughter.

If I go to mom’s place early,

you can focus on your career a bit more,

right?

-Fen... -Leave me!

Fen... Fenfen.

-Leave me. -Fenfen.

-Listen to me, Fenfen. -Leave me.

-Don’t do this. -Leave me, I don’t want to see you!

Okay.

Why don’t you all get out of here?

Don’t irritate the patient.

Come on, get out.

Professor Cui.

This should be yours.

Thank you for bringing it over.

I’m sorry you had to see that.

But why are you on this beach?

Because this is my hometown.

I came back to track down the merman.

I’ve got a lead.

How can that be possible?

I can’t say now.

I’m working as a lifeguard in the rescue team

to get closer to the merman.

Professor Cui.

The most important thing now is not mermen,

but your daughter Fenfen.

She could kill herself again.

Don’t talk nonsense.

My daughter drowned by accident.

She wouldn’t have killed herself.

But when I was trying to save her,

she suddenly pushed me away.

She didn’t want to be saved.

Well...

Then...Then maybe

Nursing Station she was in a panic.

Fenfen is a good girl.

She’s so good in so many ways.

How could she have killed herself?

But she just...

Sorry. I have something to deal with.

Just stop. You can leave here.

Hello.

Yes.

Now that Professor Cui said that,

it’s possible that you are wrong.

It might be in the heat of the moment

that she said something misleading

because of her illness.

No way.

My instinct has been accurate.

I can’t be wrong.

Jiang Ze.

We just went to the hospital

to see that drowned girl.

She is all right now

but she is a little emotional.

Don’t worry.

We’re back at the resort.

Be careful!

Guest Room Area

Okay.

Yeah.

The book says the merman has a sixth sense,

so you’re a merman.

Ah, again...

Wait.

I just remembered

you said that if I got my lifeguard certification,

you’d tell me where you came from.

I already told you that.

No.

I was a foundling.

When the director of the orphanage found me,

I was left in a basin.

It was a stormy night.

The director said I had

a tail like the merman,

and I kept slapping it.

So what you said about the orphanage is true?

You’re not curious about who you are?

And you don’t want to go back and find it out?

Xida.

You’re not curious about who you are?

And you don’t want to go back and find it out?

Why don’t

I come back with you sometime?

Maybe your parents are looking for you.

What’s wrong?

If they are looking for me,

they wouldn’t have left me at the orphanage.

How would you know if you don’t go back?

I’m always here for you.

What’s the point of going back?

Who can ensure that

I’d be happier

if I knew about who I am?

So you’re afraid of disappointment.

Yeah.

You are not cold-hearted as you look.

You pretend to be indifferent,

but you are more emotional than anyone else.

Don’t be ridiculous.

Whatever I am,

I can’t be a merman.

There’s no

merman in the world.

That’s just your imagination.

No.

If you don’t believe me,

you can connect to my cloud.

There’s plenty of evidence to prove

that mermen still exist.

Whatever you say.

I’m not done.

I’ll send you my cloud account and password.

Don’t forget to look at it.

Look!

It’s the beauty that day, Song Mi.

This photo is so hot.

No, I don’t like it.

I think so.

You are more interested in environmental protection.

I saw you said a lot about it that day.

you can connect to my cloud.

This is...

Is it too cold?

-No. -Do you want a jacket?

All right.

My girl.

Listen.

Though I always thought

Jiang Ze was a good boy,

when watching movies,

-you, you, you don’t... -Come on, Dad.

We’re just going to see a movie.

All right.

Jiang Ze is here.

-I’m leaving now. -Ah, you’re here.

Okay.

Muxin.

Have fun.

Okay, bye.

-Go. -Go.

I thought that day I saw it wrong.

So Shen Muxin is right?

Could I really

be a merman?

I can’t believe the hero

has been waiting for decades.

He’s infatuated with that girl.

Yeah.

If a guy would wait for me like that,

I’d marry him right now.

By the way,

I really think

that beach in the movie is so beautiful.

It looks like Xingyue Bay.

Do you remember the secret realm of Xingyue Bay?

Of course. It was our

secret base when we were children.

Do you want to go there for a walk?

Sure.

I remember when I was a child,

this side was always full of weeds.

I didn’t expect it

to be so beautifully trimmed.

Yeah.

You loved to come here to relax,

especially after arguing with Mr. Shen.

Mr. Shen always let me come here

to carry you back.

He was always

bossing me around.

I thought of the time

when we played too late here,

we had to go back in the dark,

and we almost fell down together.

Why don’t we

go to somewhere else?

Thank you.

Jiang Ze.

To protect Jiang Kai,

you were beaten all over.

And you always hid in my arms like this and cried.

Take it out, can you hear me?

What are you doing?

Let it go.

Leave here.

Out of the way.

Who are you?

Jiang Kai. It’s okay.

Are you okay? Muxin.

Yeah.

-Jiang Kai. -Jiang Kai.

-Jiang Kai, it’s okay. -Don’t be afraid. -Brother.

-It’s okay. -I’m so scared.

You are kind, brave

and lovable,

so I like you so much.

I should do that.

Because I already treated

Jiang Kai as my brother.

I should protect him.

And I did it for you.

For me?

You’re famous

in this town.

You have a good personality and can swim.

Every girl worships you.

I’m not that good.

But,

I worked so hard at swimming

for you.

For me?

You’ve wanted to find the merman,

and rushed to the beach all day long.

If I can’t swim well,

how can I protect you and fulfill your dream?

Yeah, I think about the time

I went swimming and got caught in a wave.

You were desperate to save me

and almost got yourself killed.

My dad kicked my ass back then.

Yeah.

I’d do anything for you.

Would you like me to be there for you

as your boyfriend?

Muxin?

Jiang Ze.

Can I think about it for a few days?

Why?

Because...

Because I value this relationship so much.

I want to be discreet.

I see.

No matter how long it takes,

I’ll wait for you.

My God.

Jiang Ze confessed his love to me.

Isn’t this something I dream of?

But why would I hesitate?

Fenfen!

Professor Cui.

Where are you going this late?

I’m looking for Fenfen.

I was out for something.

And when I got back, she was gone.

Professor Cui, don’t worry.

Fenfen is still weak.

She can’t be far.

I’ll ask someone for help.

Xingyue Bay Rescue Team Emergency.

We’ll split up.

You, that way, go.

Jimmy, go.

Fenfen, Fenfen.

Fenfen.

Fenfen!

Fenfen!

Where is she?

Fenfen!

-Fenfen, don’t do anything stupid. -Let go of me!

Let go of me!

-No! -Let go!

-Don’t do anything stupid! -Go!

Fenfen.

Go away, all of you.

I don’t want any more therapy.

Fenfen, what are you talking about?

We won’t give up on you.

I told you, I don’t want any more chemo.

Do you know

how lonely I am in the hospital?

Instead of being miserable every day,

I’d rather be free of it.

You...

What are you talking about?

After all,

Professor Cui has raised you well.

How can you look down on your life?

What do you know?

He doesn’t care about me.

All he cared about was his work,

not me!

Fenfen. Fenfen.

-What are you doing? -Go away.

-What are you doing? -Don’t come over.

Stay back, all of you.

The doctor told me that

I have only six months left.

If I’m going to live like this,

it’d be better for me to end it.

-Fenfen! -No!

-Fenfen. -Fenfen.

-Fenfen. -Fenfen.

Muxin, are you okay?

I’m fine.

Muxin, Fenfen.

Xida.

Jiang Ze.

Get her to the hospital.

-Hurry up. -Come on.

Hurry up.

Thank you.

Thank you so much.

You’re welcome.

Fenfen is still in a bad mood.

Probably, she would kill herself again.

Care more about her.

Yeah, Fenfen is sick.

She will be even more cranky.

Perhaps it would be better if you took a break from work

-and stayed with Her. -No.

Don’t worry about it.

I’ll figure it out.

Professor Cui is really stubborn.

I’m afraid he won’t follow our advice.

What should we do? If Fenfen does that again...

It’s no use worrying about it.

We’re all outsiders.

Look.

Your arm is bruised again.

Let me take you to rub the medicine. Let’s go.

I’ll take her there.

Nursing Station

Okay, I’ll go back.

Wait.

Jimmy’s still at the entrance.

You can take it home.

Okay.

Okay.

Thank you.

You’re welcome.

Luckily, it’s just a scratch. It’s nothing serious.

But Jiang Ze.

I’m still worried about Fenfen.

I don’t think it’s easy

for them to get over.

I want to help them.

You’re still so kind.

You can’t stand by

and let anyone get hurt.

So what’s your plan?

I have an idea.

But I need all your help.

It’s okay.

I’ll gather them up tomorrow.

Thank you.

I’ll take her there.

They

seem to be together.

But they are perfect for each other,

right?

Jimmy.

You can understand me?

Muxin.

Tell us the plan again

in detail.

That’s it.

We must work together.

Don’t get caught.

I’m on it.

How can I trust you with this?

I’m on it.

Let’s go, Muxin.

I’ll go with you to the hospital.

Okay.

You have a meeting later.

Sorry, Mr. Shen. It slipped my mind.

Then Muxin...

It’s okay, Jiang Ze.

I’ll go to the hospital alone.

No, you can’t go alone.

You need company.

Well, Xida.

Xida will go with you.

One more person, one more mouth.

And the success rate is high.

Fenfen.

Be ready to go.

Dad.

Dad.

I need some water.

Water?

Now?

Okay.

Wait a minute.

Professor Cui.

Professor Cui.

Why are you here?

We heard Fenfen would be out of the hospital today,

so we came to see her.

And this is the voucher.

You can stay here for two more days.

I brought it here specially.

No, thanks.

I’ll take Fenfen back to the city

to get the best doctors for her.

We can’t waste any more time here.

But...

Sorry, I have to take this.

I can’t talk to you guys.

I’m still in the hospital. I’ll be back tomorrow.

Yeah, I’m almost done here.

You can have it in a couple of days.

Muxin.

Yes, okay.

No problem.

-Okay. -Professor Cui!

See you later, okay.

Professor Cui!

Are you okay?

Yeah.

Professor Cui.

Don’t chase him.

He’s too stubborn, it’s useless.

But...

Stand still.

Ah, you’re not a kid, but you can’t tie your shoes.

That’s how athletes tie it,

then you won’t get hurt.

A careless girl like you

should learn it.

Got it?
