= You Are the Miracle =

= Episode 18 =

No need to look around. Safe here.

Zhu is around.

He'll alert us if anything comes up.

I've got your message.

Ye Zhongliang has assigned you the first job.

Exactly. He showed me a name list.

= Artists of Bo Rui Group =

They are all excellent artists. = Artists of Bo Rui Group =

They are all excellent artists.

And they've gained some popularity in the market.

Let me put it this way.

They are familiar with our business mode now.

Got it.

We had a good artist who lost his life in the fire.

Chengyu was involved in the case.

Yes, Siqi told me that Bro Chengyu got injured.

And he was in hospital for a while.

I used to strongly support the artist.

And he made many contributions for us.

Many contributions? You meant...

All talented and ambitious artists on the list

were recommended by him.

After his death,

they all left since Chengyu didn't have time

to take them into consideration.

I've got a plan.

We have to keep the excellent artists to us.

Yes.

But Bro Chengyu was the one being in charge of them.

Is it a good way if I take over...

Don't worry.

I've talked about it with Chengyu.

He has other projects to take care of.

Moreover,

the company doesn't make profits from the artworks.

It's just my personal hobby.

OK. I got it.

Mr. Ye, I'll follow your orders.

Good.

Come in.

Mr. Ye, Mr. Jia is here.

Come on in, please.

Mr. Ye, I'll go back to work.

- OK. - This way, please.

Hi, Mr. Ye.

Welcome.

- Have a seat. - Thanks.

= Artists of Bo Rui Group =

These people are terrified of being caught red-handed.

I think Yi Qianwan may have told them something.

So they'd rather give up fame and wealth

than attach themselves on Bo Rui.

They are not detaching from Bo Rui.

They don't want to be involved with Qi Chengyu.

That's why Ye Zhongliang has asked you to contact them.

These people are dangerous.

Besides, they know about Bo Rui's secrets. So...

So we can make sure Ye Zhongliang is behind everything.

Qi Chengyu is only one of his pawns.

And he's losing Ye's trust.

It's really him.

I didn't catch you.

It was nothing.

It is our good opportunity.

But you'll be in great danger, too.

Be careful.

I will.

As for Ye Siqi...

As for her...

I'll finish my task as soon as possible.

It could be my answer to her.

I shouldn't have called you.

But you were late for over forty minutes.

It had never happened.

Something came up in the company.

What was it? Anything wrong?

No. I fixed it.

Good.

One more thing.

Seems Chong Ya has been in touch with a mysterious person.

Zhu saw him meeting someone else.

But he was highly vigilant.

Zhu lost track of him.

Again?

Don't worry. I'll watch my back.

You can go back now.

It looks alike.

- It does. - Listen...

Chen Meng?

Is Lin Ze's darkroom still open?

It is... But what brings you here this late?

Nothing. I'm just going to clean it up.

- I'm here to wait for someone. - What?

What... What happened to her?

Let go check.

OK.

Chen Meng!

Do you still remember?

We took the photo when we graduated.

This one, too.

Look, I took these for you when we graduated.

And this one was when we were having classes.

Remember?

Is... Is she OK?

Not sure.

What's going on?

Let's go.

- OK. - Let's go.

= Pang's Photo Studio =

= Pang's Photo Studio =

Hello.

Your dad asked me to do something else.

I was busy so I worked overtime.

Don't worry. I'm on my way home.

He'll show up.

I told him to meet me in Pang's Photo Studio.

Take a deep breath. Keep cool.

He'll show up.

= Pang's Photo Studio =

Chen Meng.

What...

What happened?

Did you have dreams about him?

Was it him?

Who?

Mengmeng, are you still in your dream?

How about we take you home?

It's freezing here. Don't catch a cold.

Let's go back.

It was him. I'm sure.

Qiao Yingze has contacted them.

Mr. Ye is planning to get him involved with it.

As expected.

Since it's difficult to strike home,

let's pull the rug from under him.

It's OK if the artists left.

But Qiao Yingze is Mr. Ye's trusted subordinate.

Are you sure we should take him down?

I have to.

I've got another plan.

You stay out of it.

OK, got it.

Bro Chengyu.

You are fronting here when the morning just starts?

Look at the wrinkles on your forehead.

Not sure why my dad sent me here to be your apprentice.

How come I didn't know Mr. Ye asked you to be my apprentice?

If you were my tutor, I'd grow old very soon.

Don't you have a boyfriend?

Don't you need to spend more time with him?

If only you could treat my boyfriend a little bit better,

I didn't even need to come here.

I'm wondering when you'll be free.

Let's have dinner together to celebrate your birthday.

My birthday?

I guess you have an agenda.

The other day, I asked my dad if Yingze could move in with me.

But he said Yingze just joined the company for the run-in period.

If he moved in right now, there might be disputes among others.

I know my dad worries you may be unhappy about it.

So I plan to invite you both.

Both of you will know each other better.

Since you have asked,

if I didn't show up, you wouldn't see me as your bro.

It's possible.

Could you please come?

OK.

Great!

Ma'am, I've bought you a cashmere blanket.

Hope you'll like it.

No, the color is not good. I don't like it.

Your apartment is good.

But it's on a lower floor so things easily get damp.

In winter it's gloomy and cold.

Please stay warm.

Mengmeng and I will be at ease if you stay healthy.

The apartment is good. I like it.

- Lin Ze rented it... - Mom.

Mengmeng, you are home.

You've got some time today so you showed up so early?

I'm not busy today.

So I came here to bring your mom a blanket.

Siqi told me she'd get old soon

if she was as busy as I was.

I don't care how busy I am.

I'm just worried you would mind it.

It's good being busy.

Look at me. All I do is looking after my mom.

I can't even focus on work.

I'd rather let you focus on your work.

Then I'll have time to relax and help you look after your mom.

I can also take a walk when I can.

Hoping to retire in advance.

You're hoping to retire?

I should sign you up in a university for the elderly.

Retire now.

It's freezing out here. Stay warm.

By the way, Siqi invites me to dinner to celebrate my birthday.

She'll come with her boyfriend.

I know you're Lin Ze.

Why don't you admit it?

Is it because you can't confide in me here?

Anything wrong?

Not feeling well?

Nope.

Were you saying to celebrate your birthday?

May I come?

It's exactly what I want.

I was afraid you weren't willing to.

Let's make it a deal.

- OK. I'll... - I'll pick you up.

Only our own people will come.

So let's have dinner at home.

My place, OK?

OK.

= Hickey Creators Cafe =

How much is this painting?

7,000 yuan.

7,000 for one piece? Are you out of your mind?

How much is this painting?

You stay out of it.

I've met you.

Aren't you working for Bo Rui?

You recruited young artists from the last art show.

Since you plan to cultivate new talents,

you're not supposed to meet me here.

It'll be much easier since you know who I am.

Innovation is just a way out for artworks.

If you want a sustainable development,

you'll still need full-fledged works to guide your way.

Why are you smiling?

You're more hypocritical.

What did you mean?

Others came to me before.

They all talked about fame and profits.

You're trying to talk about art?

I don't need to talk about fame or wealth with you.

If what you only focus on fame and money,

with your social status,

you'll make a fortune wherever you sell your works.

You don't even need to sell your paintings here.

Don't tell me the nonsense.

I've decided not to be a part of your business.

What you referred to is Qi Chengyu's deal.

Not mine.

Is there any difference?

You're businessmen who will prioritize profits.

We're just scapegoats for you.

He's talking about Yi Qianwan.

You should check it out for yourself.

And think twice.

Others will come to meet you after I leave.

When they show up,

things will be as terrible as you think.

= Hickey Creators Cafe =

What are you doing here?

It's against the rules. Get off.

I've looked around.

No one noticed. You're safe.

Don't worry.

I've talked to Chong Ya.

He'll give me answers soon.

What are you up too, dude?

Director Qin will punish me if he finds out.

Who is Chen Meng?

I've told you before.

You guys went to the same college.

Don't you understand it?

Many people go to the same college.

You two just nodded to each other.

She's just a nodding...

- She's just a nodding acquaintance. - Exactly.

Is it possible she'd be in hot pursuit if she only met me once?

Maybe she thought she met a ghost?

So it inspired her to explore more?

And maybe she's decided to solve one of the greatest mysteries?

I don't want to talk about it anymore.

I don't have the answer.

I wasn't close to you before.

Then why did you tell me

I was so close to you that I'd share half of my heritage with you?

You wanted to become sworn brothers with me.

All I was up to was your heritage.

But you haven't died.

Did I go nuts wanting to become sworn brothers with you?

Tell me the truth.

If you don't want to, I'll go on a date.

Wait, what's going on?

Where are you going?

Ye Siqi called me.

It's Qi Chengyu's birthday today.

We four will have a double date at Qi Chengyu's place.

Qi Chengyu and Ye Siqi?

You and Chen Meng?

Exactly.

Time is up. I gotta go.

Hold on.

No matter how you two were involved before,

whether you were just schoolmates or something else,

you can't tell her you're Lin Ze at this crucial moment.

We don't know why Qi Chengyu planted Chen Meng around him.

Only when Chen Meng gives up her thoughts that you're Lin Ze,

our mission can be accomplished smoothly.

You and Chen Meng will be out of danger.

Got it?

Tell Director Qin I got it.

Director.

Can we just tell them the truth?

Maybe Chen Meng can help us in some way.

No way!

We can't guarantee if Qi Chengyu will find out the truth from her

after Chen Meng knows about everything.

We must protect Lin Ze and make sure he'll be safe.

I don't want Chen Meng to know Lin Ze is still alive.

Nothing can go wrong.

Got it?

- But Chen Meng and Lin Ze... - Enough.

= To Ye Zhongliang: We need to meet again. =

Never be homesick when meeting your old friends.

Cook some new tea on the brightest flame and enjoy the moment.

You asked me to come quickly.

But you seem to take things slow.

We haven't seen each other for years.

You, Zhongliang is still devoted to literary pursuits.

Let's drink tea first. Poems can wait.

I'm uneducated. Can't make as good tea as you do.

Please put up with it.

Mengmeng, you can make really good dumplings.

I don't know how you do it.

You put meat in the dumpling wrapper.

Press the edges together and put dumplings into water.

Won't the stuffing and wrapper fall apart?

Oh, Siqi.

Where is your fiance?

He went to pick up the cake. Will be here soon.

Bro Chengyu, you know me.

I'm the cake killer.

I'll eat a big piece of it. Promise me.

No problem.

OK.

I... I've got flour on my hands.

You go ahead.

Come on in.

I'm here.

Why are you so late? We're all waiting for you.

Are you waiting for me or for the cake?

Bro Chengyu, happy birthday!

- Take off your coat and start eating. - OK.

You really can't wait?

Guess what colors on it?

Strawberries with fresh cream.

What colors on it?

Red and white.

We haven't seen each other for many years.

You asked me to meet me here.

You've got something else to talk except for drinking tea.

Nothing important.

It's just I've heard recently

you've been looking after the kid since the incident.

Right. How time flies!

The kids have grown up.

Chen Meng?

Yes.

After I left the police precinct,

I didn't have enough money to help them at first.

So I went to visit them often.

Later on, I made money and wanted to help.

I found out our country had given them some compensates.

But a single mom with her child...

She wasn't in good condition herself.

Nothing was easy for both of them.

They didn't have to suffer it at all.

Am I right?

You're still blaming me, aren't you?

Yes.

I don't need to beat about the bush with you.

Let bygones be bygones.

I only want to ask you about one thing.

Why did you decide to help Chen Meng be a cop?

I'll answer you with all my sincerity.

It was not even my decision.

Chen Meng wanted to be a cop since she was small.

If becoming a cop could help her find relief,

I'd love to help her.

You are overconfident.

She lost her dad when she was small.

Do you know what she really wants?

She's young and has many opportunities.

What you did was making her become a cop

and put her in danger.

How could you face Chen Qi, her diseased father?

You're wrong.

Although Captain Chen Qi passed away,

he impressed her more strongly than you and I could ever do.

You keep her around you.

Tell me. What can you give her?

At least I enable her to have an easier life

instead of carrying all the burdens you call "morality and justice".

Don't make yourself sound noble.

Ye Zhongliang,

you were a police officer, too.

You had your own belief.

Are you guiding the kids to the wrong direction

only because you chose the wrong path?

We'll never agree with each other.

Farewell.

Bro Chengyu.

Yingze.

You just came back to China.

You should be our guest.

It's surprising that you turn from a guest into a host so soon.

I'm just a new comer.

I have a lot to learn from you, Bro Chengyu.

I'll make a toast to you.

Mengmeng.

Anything wrong with Yingze's ring?

I've seen you staring at it for so long

that you can't open your eyes.

I was not looking at the ring but his hands.

I was a boxing coach before.

So I'll pay attention to others' hands.

If someone hits walls or sandbags often,

their finger knuckles should be flat.

As far as I've seen, Mr. Qiao's hands are like it.

I assume he has practiced.

And he's good at fighting.

May I say something?

What?

You'd better not.

Here is the story.

When I was getting medical treatment in the U.S.,

Siqi thought always eating western food was dull.

She wanted to buy some Chinese food for me in China Town.

Later on, she fell in love with Chinese dishes.

I was worried she might meet trouble in China Town.

Chine Town was very close to black communities.

It was not safe for a girl.

- So I got a plan to... - So Mr. Qiao, a negotiator,

forced me to take Sanda courses with him.

So that I could cross the black community safely.

Did you have to tell the whole story?

It makes me look like I could do everything to get food.

Aren't you like that?

I'll do it.

There was not enough time.

So I didn't make many dumplings.

We won't eat a lot, anyway.

And trust me.

I do make terrific dipping sauce for dumplings.

I can't eat a lot.

But I'll eat some for the Chinese New Year.

Are you... Are you OK?

Be more careful, OK?

Did you get a burn?

Be careful, don't cut your fingers.

Are you OK? You didn't get a burn, right?

- Please be more careful, OK? - I'm fine.

Allow me.

I've heard food that dropped on the ground

is eatable if we pick it up in five seconds.

Not sure if I acted fast enough.

Don't eat it.

We've got something else.

How about... We start eating the cake?

That's right. I'll go get it.

We should eat the cake.

Could you please clean it up?

When I was small,

adults told me not to eat dumplings to celebrate birthdays.

Dumplings have "stuffing" in them.

So it might "stuff" concerns in your heart when eating.

That's why they wouldn't let me eat them.

- You're lecturing us again. - Am I?

You are.

The decayed tooth is hurting?

Look at you.

You shouldn't eat so much dessert if you have a decayed tooth.

Ice the hurting area.

Siqi, I know a great dentist.

You should go see him sometime.

How about this?

I'll cook birthday noodles for Bro Chengyu.

You eat some, too.

Don't eat the cake, OK?

OK.

Good girl.

Bro Chengyu, I'll be in the kitchen.

Siqi, I'll go upstairs to get some medicine for you.

- I'll be right back. - OK.

Mengmeng, I'll go to the bathroom.

You take care.

It doesn't matter if you've lost your memory

or you don't want to be involved with me.

It's good enough for me to know you're alive.

I don't know what you're talking about.

It's OK.

Lord has shown me a miracle.

My mom gave it to you.

Keep it.

I have no idea what happened to you.

Is it because they can't know who you are?

If so,

keep it well. Don't show it to anyone.
